My fiancé desired Cajun Boil, and so I obliged. We decided to visit the Brickell location as we had just gotten out of church. Upon arriving, we were promptly seated and our table prepared for the massacre. The location is nice, it's located right on the corner of SW 7th St. the inside is designed for one thing and one thing only, feasting and drinking. Our waiter was extremely nice and quick. He took our orders and our food was out in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the Combo #2, which came with the Snow Crab legs, crawfish, jumbo shrimp, and sides of rice cakes, potatoes, corn and extra rice and two boiled eggs as well as extra Green-lipped Mussels. We got all the food smothered in their signature Ultimate Sauce Mild. Everything was bomb. The food was hot and fresh. Tearing into the food was such a visceral and satisfying experience. Ultimately, we ended up eating almost all of our food. A few crawfish were unfortunately left behind. But my goodness. I have driven and walked by this location so many times and it never did anything to draw me in but the reviews were all stellar and I am so sorry I waited so long to give this place a shot. I was obsessed with their crawfish etouffe and their crab fried rice was to die for. I got the shrimp appetizer and was so pleased, the shrimp was huge! I ordered 3lbs of crawfish in their garlic butter sauce. I didn't know it was going to be swimming in the sauce. The crawfish itself is super fresh, but it wasn't soaked long enough to get any flavors in. I think that's why it was drowning in their sauce. The sauce was okay. I felt like it could be more garlicky and a touch of salt cause it's a little under flavored. I later ordered another pound of crawfish in their ultimate sauce. I wasn't a fan of the sauce. It wasn't really what I was expecting, it still tasted a little under flavored to me. My husband isn't a huge seafood fan, so he got the garlic noodle with chicken. He said it was good. I had a taste, it was decent. The servers are really nice and attentive. I think the server we got is a little new or something cause he was a little slower or maybe he had a lot of table to wait. Went to this establishment on Wednesday night for dinner. When I arrived it was pretty empty. It was plenty of seating and the servers were all friendly. I visited the brickell location which is conveniently located near the metrorail station. I chose to take the metrorail to avoid paying for parking. The restaurant was clean and had a nice vibe. Stopped by here durjng Miami Spice. It wasn't a mind blowing experience. It was just good (if you know what I mean). The service was lovely, the host greeted us with a smile and our waiter was pleasant. It was pretty quiet for a Friday evening. But I will say if you're in the area you can stop by to have drinks at the bar. We stuck with the miami spice prefix menu. We started with the fried shrimp and crab raccoon. They were both pretty good. Then for our main, I had the seafood broil and my boyfriend had the pasta. It was good, but I will say I've had better broil. I am a fan of Cajun Boil when you're craving some piping hot no nonsense seafood with fire sauce and seasoning. There are a variety of combos you can choose from when you're looking for a mix (which I always am). I enjoy the headless shrimp and crawfish with some crab legs thrown in. The mussels are not my favorite, mostly because they are the larger less flavorful ones. If you're not big on seafood and are looking for some sides, note that the corn, potato, and sausage add ins are usually just 2 or 3 pieces per order. You may need multiple. I like to add in a side of rice and have requested plain garlic noodles (not on the menu) because I need some starchiness. The place was decorated really fun and bright and of course music was loader than your typical background music but we found that it's common in Miami restaurants. It seemed like it can get very busy after 6pm. I got the green mussels with mild garlic butter and ultimate spice sauce on the side - the spice level was great since I love spice and my husband got the shrimp Cajun pasta. He asked for mild but he's sensitive to spice so it was a little spicy for him. The waiter was attentive and checked in and kept our waters full. Went on a Sunday to celebrate my birthday. They do not serve liquor! This was already a disappointment. What they do have is a variety of wine slashes. Can't recall which one I ordered, but I wish I didn't,. That's how sweet it was. Now, on to the food; we ordered fried frog legs which I had no part in. My family said it was great and tasted like chicken. We also had fried calamari, they were okay, not the best I've had. And we all ordered different plates. You have the butcher paper covering the tables, the plastic bibs, gloves, and the huge bags containing your seafood boil ingredients in a cajun, garlic, spicy, lemon sauce. Food: 1) Alligator bites - Surprisingly good! A bit tougher than chicken bites but the batter was light. I'd order these again. 2) Seafood Boil: Alaskan King Crab and Shrimp. We've been to many Viet Cajun style seafood restaurants around the country and this was one of the best. We got the ultimate sauce with a medium level of spice for our seafood boil and it was just perfect. Service was quick and very efficient (we got our food within 20 minutes of ordering). The waitress brought us opened wet wipes at the end of our meal, which was a much appreciated touch. The ambiance felt relatively upscale, matching the Brickell Miami vibe despite being a seafood boil restaurant, meaning things get very messy when you eat. Some things we would do differently next time. We wouldn't get the Jambalaya noodles again as it didn't really mix well with the boil. The crab fried rice is all you need since you can mix some of the sauce from the boil onto the rice. Also I would only recommend getting snow crab legs if you want to eat crab. We got 1 lbs of Dungeness crab in addition to the snow crab legs and the Dungeness crab was too hard to eat. read more
