Freshness and honesty is questionable. My husband and I ordered the combo 1 which comes with your choice of (3) pounds of your pick from their choices, two corn, sausages, and potatoes. The shrimp had lots of black spots on them and were very mushy. I would assume they have been thawed many days unsold, not bad but not very fresh either. The crawfish was decent... I just wished they were cooked in the sauce a little longer so it would soak in. The garlic in the sauce was too raw as well -hard and crunchy. The honesty part... Every where we go for the most part is the same when it comes to combo including the number of corn, sausage, and potatoes BUT the amount of shrimp we were given was definitely not what it was supposed to be. My husband and I always share 2lbs of shrimp and 1lb of crawfish any where we go for a seafood boil. We never eat the potatoes or the sausage and we always have about a pound of shrinp left over to take home. I work in the food industry and I deal with a lot of shrimp head on/off, shell on/off you name it, and I can tell you the size of shrimp a restaurant uses just by looking at it. We did not get 2lbs of shrimp. The lemons that were brought out to us also looked disgusting. I would never serve my customers that. They were translucent, looked partially frozen or over refrigerated and prepped way too many days ago. I'd probably recommend everyone there to take a food certification class. We always bring the leftover sauce home to fry rice or add noodle to it. Love the oysters especially the Kumamoto oyster is $2 each all the time. The sauce was pretty standard to the other shrimp boil places around. Our oyster appetizer was fresh, but it was kinda odd that it came out after our bags were already brought to the table. The fried orders came out quickly after ordering. I tried the fried okra, which was ok. I didn't love them or hate them. They weren't slimy at all, in case anyone is wondering. There were some fried up stalky fiber parts that weren't edible and I wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce it came with. I got combo 1 w/ house special sauce, medium spice. The shrimp was mushy, and that was the talk of the table. I wouldn't if I'd order shrimp from here again based on that. The mussels and clams were good. Our oysters were fresh. A very nice and solid place to get some Cajun shrimp and seafood! It's located in McCarthy ranch which is wonderful because that means you never have to stress about parking - there's ample space. In the last year, we went about 3-4 times and we never had to wait - there was always a table available. The servers are courteous and quick, and the food is nicely fresh. Only one time did we have an issue with over cooked shrimp! I mostly only ever get shrimp here but my hubs has tried the catfish basket and fries and has enjoyed it. My mom also got some crab once - I don't recommend getting that because it gets a tad bit over cooked and the meat on the crab shrinks down really small. I was really impressed. They have a lot of great options on their menu, but I decided to go with the fried soft shell crab basket with fries and I also ordered their wings. Soft shell crab was good and I loved the crispness of the fry. The Cajun fries were awesome! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and tasty on the inside. I just wish they would have given a little bit more of the sauce that came along with the basket. That was very good. You know people are going to ask for more, so just give them a bigger container so they can dunk their food in. The wings were good and I enjoyed the Cajun seasoning on them. I was able to check out the new Cajun Crack'n Milpitas during a recent Yelp Elite event. It was interesting and cool to see how this place has transformed from the old, dark, and dingy atmosphere (at the former Black Angus), to a bright, airy, and open concept floor plan at Cajun Crack'n Milpitas. Now onto the food, I took this order to go versus dining in since it was a ton of food that I could share with friends while I was visiting in town. I ordered the Cajun curly fries for the appetizer, 2lbs. of shrimp which comes with corn and sausage, and it's all tossed in with your choice of sauce for the main entree. As for the drink, I chose a Shirley Temple and I also ordered garlic noodles. All of the food was really good! There was a ton of meat in the shrimp, the house sauce it was tossed in had a good flavor and the garlic noodles were garlicky with a touch of saltiness from the Parmesan cheese. I personally didn't get a chance to try the Shirley Temple so I don't have an opinion on the drink. The reason for the docked star is the garlic noodles were a small portion for what I paid, and the house sauce felt a little skimpy since it seemed like there wasn't enough sauce to cover all of the shrimp. As for the service, the gal taking my phone order was super nice and helpful! And by the time I got there to pickup my order, it was ready to go and still hot by the time I ate it. All the girls are super nice, and very attentive, they checked on me several times during the meal and made sure that I had everything I need to enjoy the seafood boil! Was charge for live crawfish, but as an expert connoisseur of Crawfish, they were dead for some time or precooked. The crawfish were limp and shells were soft. Fresh live crawfish shells would be hard after cooking. To add to that, 30 mins after eating here, we all hit a wall with severe fatigue and all passed out when we got home. We woke up with head aches. We realized that it there was MSG in their sauce... a lot of it. Thought I'd give this chain a try after vowing never going to their Story Rd location (probably why they closed) but confirmed that I'll never go to this chain at all anymore. I understand that crawfish isn't in season, so most seafood boil places use frozen crawfish, but theirs tasted extremely old. When I bit into the body, it completely disintegrated. On top of that, the seasoning seemed like a random mix of spices rather than a well-balanced blend--it was overly dry and salty. This was also the first time I felt like the portion sizes were off. Our order of one pound of crawfish and one pound of shrimp seemed much smaller than expected. I even counted the crawfish in my bag, and there were only 12 pieces--there's no way that added up to a full pound. A solid choice if you don't want to wait in line for Boiling Crab! I love cajun food, but there's no place in the Peninsula that can really compare to Boiling Crab and sometimes you can't justify driving all the way down to San Jose just for seafood... well, you can drive a little closer by coming to Cajun Crack'n in Milpitas. My group of 4 arrived on a Saturday right after opening and there was only two other tables sitting. Even when we left an hour later there was still a good amount of tables open. Food wise - we ordered their curly fries, sweet potato fries, oysters, clams, shrimp, and crawfish and I wish I took a photo because the size of then shrimp and crawfish were pretty impressive. They bring the food out to you in bags like Boiling Crab, but the difference is that they bring it to you with a pan so you can pour everything out and it'll be easier to eat. They also put a bucket next to your table for your trash which was nice. Service was very attentive, although that might've been because it was also not insanely busy. Prices are comparable and overall I had a very good lunch. My only critique is the sauce isn't as strong as Boiling Crab, but the size of the seafood + service makes me want to come back. read more

I got the hottest level of sauce which will def make you sweat but won't have you dying or drinking loads of water to wash your tongue. First timer here and really enjoyed the ambiance, service, and food! This is located in the farther end of Ranch Drive with plenty of parking available. This location is fairly large with lots of seating so it wasn't too hard to get seating right away. I haven't had Cajun food in so long so we made sure to order a variety of items. I mainly enjoyed the appetizers/sides like the garlic noodles, calamari, and sweet potato fries - they were cooked really well. The seafood mix was okay.. the shrimp was hard to peel off the shells, the sausage and potato were good but kinda small pieces, the clams and crawfish were good, the corn felt a bit over cooked that it tasted somewhat dry. The sauce was more on the saltier end so I made sure to load up on lemons to mix in there. Plus the cocktail drinks were good as well! Definitely will be coming back to visit. read more

Came here to celebrate my girlfriend's cousin graduating from EMT school and left completely disappointed. We arrived before rush hour, yet service was slow from the start. Our order (shrimp, mussels, and crab) was messed up multiple times--crawfish kept coming out instead of shrimp. Extra items we never ordered were brought to the table, while the food we did receive got cold and we were left waiting with little communication. After a long wait, the server finally realized the shrimp order was never put in. We asked for a manager and were told the server was the manager. Even after apologizing, the shrimp never arrived. We waited another 30 minutes before deciding to leave. We were told the meal would be comped, but only got 10% off, and the bill still came out to around $80. We didn't feel like we had waited a long time, but they did seem to be understaffed. The restaurant itself was super big and clean. We got 2 lbs of shrimp and our waiter suggested less sauce and lore garlic and glad we went with her suggestions the Cajun fries could have had more seasoning, kind of tasted plain, but the garlic bread was soooo good! Would totally just take that to go.
