I thought that macarons were disgusting and I had no idea why people ate them. I even had one from a very expensive French Bakery. I spit them all out, every single time. I figured I would give these a shot because they looked beautiful (even though I am not a fan of food coloring and I personally bake with all natural dyes). Oh. My. Goodness. The regular and pistachio, I can eat them for days. The flavor is spot on. The right amount of sweetness. They are amazing. They have a crisp outer shell with a beautiful, soft and chewy interior. I wish I would've taken a picture of the inside before I devoured them. Their cakes are fantastic. Our favorite was the pistachio but have more to try. I just saw that they have a chicken tikka pizza so I am very excited to try that out as I loved a chicken tikka pizza that I had near Long Beach. One of the owners is very kind and humble! I had read in one of the reviews about the Bombay Club Sandwich. I'm a huge fan of all things Indian food, so naturally this as the sandwich I chose. Unfortunately I was not a fan, which is such a bummer. The sandwich was a bit soggy and it was surprisingly really lacking flavor. The fries did however make up for it. The man that I ordered from at the counter, super lovely. They're very kind, great service. This review obviously has nothing to do with their pastries. Let me start by saying that the staff here are the nicest, most hard working and genuine people you'll come across. All their foods and baked goods are made from scratch. The owner told me every morning they come in at 5am to bake even their bagels, pizza dough and all pastries fresh every day. The cake selections are fantastic, I have tried all kinds of bakeries and some are very overwhelming in sugar and some just bland in taste, but you can definitely say that these cakes are fresh and not sugary, you can taste the flavors in each one, but will not leave your tongue waxy like so many other bakeries include in their frosting. I have tried the 3 leches and it is not as rich as the Mexican ones are saturated in milk, this one is soft textured, moist and creamy. The pistachio cake is amazing! These cakes are better than Gelsons, or Bristol Farms. Also tried the eclairs and again very excellent.
