Hair was cooked into the cheese the little piece on the right came out covered in sauce.

I really wanted Grandma Pie and Wings. My boyfriend ordered from this place since for some reason a bunch of pizza places near me were closed. He just interrupted my typing and said "why are you giving them two stars? You should give them one star. I will never order there again. I would give zero stars if I could" He ordered at 4:30 when we were both on our way home from work. Got home, waited and waited, finally at 6:10 our food came. Cheese was stuck to the top of the box. Also found a hair cooked into the cheese. Just threw that slice out because I was starving. Wings were OK. I had to put a ton of salt on the pizza. After I did that, the sauce was pretty good. It was super soggy. "It's like I dipped a loaf of bread into a bucket of water"-another comment from BF. My 4 year old only ate the cheese off one slice.

Calzone, with a bite taken out ;)

I can't believe no one has done a review on this place before! :o I completely forgot to add my review to Yelp; but I did one on that other handy site (USpoon) ages ago ;) Anywho, here's pretty much my review from that: Thanks to UrbanSpoon's handy dandy iPhone app, it found dinner for me @ Calabrese Pizzeria! I've been meaning to try this place for a while now, so it must have been fate. We were in the mood for a calzone so I got the ham and he got the pepperoni...all I can say is that my mouth is watering just thinking about it. It had the perfect amount of cheese to meat ratio, the bread was chewy yet crusty (nearly perfect IMO) and the sauce... the SAUCE wow, AMAZING!!! Freshly made, not too thick, good flavors, the whole thing was just wonderful! Since that review, we've pretty much become regulars here; order from there at least once a week if not more. We've also explored they're menu too...and it just keeps getting better. The baked ziti is out of this world; huge serving of perfectly cooked ziti pasta, smothered in that mouth watering pasta/marinara sauce and covered in a heaping helping of delicious perfectly melted mozzarella cheese. (ok, mouth watering yet again). The owner Sal, is so awesome. He's very people friendly and an all around good guy...he actually gets to know his customers and they become like family to him. Its always a pleasure walking in to pick up our order and see his smiling face. Sal...you're ACE in my book! Seriously, if you're in the area...this place is a dime. Give it a try and tell Sal; Lena sent ya!

We had the BBQ chicken pizza and a cheese burger. The pizza was done well to our liking. Nothing special regarding the cheeseburger though. I would good back to try other Italian dishes

I wish I could give this review 0 stars. Seriously. It saddens me to have to write this but I don't want anyone else to be misguided by the apparent high star rating of Calabrese Pizzeria on Yelp. This was the WORST EXPERIENCE online and the WORST FOOD my wife and I have EVER had - and I don't say that lightly. Here's what happened. We decided to place an order online tonight at 6.45pm. After getting the email confirmation what with being a new customer, I wanted to see how far Calabrese were from our house. I was a little concerned to find out that our order had been accepted, yet Google Maps claimed they were actually closed! We gave them a quick call to confirm at 7pm to make sure everything was good to go and were told yes, they were open but Eat 24 Hours sometimes 'messes up' so they should retake the order again on the phone, just in case. No problem we thought - it's always good to be cautious. It shows they care - we thought. Yeah right. The guy said that it would be about 30-40 minutes because they were 'busy'. Again, that's fine, we thought. Not unusual in the slightest. But then when it got to 8.15pm (90 mins after ordering) we couldn't help getting a bit annoyed. To take such a long time delivering food might be forgivable if the food was amazing but to say it was terrible, might actually be a compliment because what was delivered surely wasn't 'food' at all. It was garbage. Back to the delivery time though, we gave them a quick call to find out what was going on and were told 'any minute'. It took another 50 minutes (yes, we're now up to 2 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES) before our order arrived! You can imagine how we both felt at that point! Can you also imagine how lovely it was to get a cold, oily, wet pizza box? - And, that was just the beggining of things to come. It also goes without saying that everything was stone cold. Here's what we ordered and what we actually got: * Stromboli with pepperoni, mushrooms and extra cheese. (No mushrooms were to be found but overall, this item wasn't completely tragic) * Chicken Marsala with Spaghetti (let's sidestep the Marsala for a minute. I'll just say for now that congealed ziti was delivered instead of spaghetti as requested) * Chicken Parmigiana with ziti (aside from getting another terrible serving of congealed ziti, we have to say congrats Calabrese, you sent us the parm at least - although it was still far from good) * 12 Zeppoles - they were a no show completely We spent a total of $34 and it was a terrible waste of money. I wouldn't even want this food for free. Instead of telling you how horrible it looked because the words fail me, I'm uploading a picture of the grey flabby Marsala we got, complete with oil slick on top (and again, no mushrooms). Even if the food is terrible a company should at least give you the items that you actually paid for! Therefore, as we didn't get everything, I can only come the conclusion that Calabrese blatantly STOLE money from me. I called to complain as soon as we got our order, only to be rushed off the phone and told we'd get a free meal next time (!) No thanks Calabrese. We'll be taking it up with Eat 24 Hours instead. Here's hoping they don't want to continue to represent such a terrible service. Further words fail me right now so I'll come to an end. I can only hope this review helps people thinking of doing business here. At best, you might get a stale, dry bread roll with your meal and at worst, food poisoning from the dreaded grey chicken Marsala. Such a shame...

Guy seemed overwhelmed and reluctantly took my order. I showed up 30 min later and no one had any record of my order. I recognized the guy's voice and told him he took my order. He was pissed and got into a shouting match with me with 3 other customers around. He eventually apologized and offered a free side of meatballs and spaghetti (don't order that btw, super underwhelming). 2nd time: Wife placed an order for a pie with half pepperoni on their website. Came back with the order and the pie had full toppings. Small nit but annoying. 3rd time: I called at 6pm on a Thursday. No one picked up. Opted to place order on their website and got the same item as last time. Showed up at and the same miserable guy asked for my name and order... and then said he didn't have any order. I told him I placed an order on the website... and he said "You should have called." with an awful (only a mother can love) grin. I showed him my email confirming 6:20pm pickup time and he said he had no order... before pulling a pie with my name on it. I asked if it had half pepperoni and it didn't. Full toppings AGAIN. Clearly, their website is not equipped to actually take half toppings orders. Pizza is OK but not worth the headache or poor service here.

We spotted Blue Steel which had good, modern curb appeal to our hungry tummies. It looks like downtown Bloomfield is having a moment with some new condos and nicer restaurants coming in. Thanks, gentrification!? Inside has a clubby, bar vibe and we were seated at a hightop near the bar. I love a good wedge salad. I prefer the classic but I appreciate BSP's variation that has tomato, cucumbers, crispy frizzled onions, feta cheese, homemade ranch dressing, and everything sprinkle seasoning. It was generously sized and refreshing. And there's nothing but good things to say about the Detroit-style ezzo pepperoni pie, except that i wish I had a bigger stomach to eat MORE. After the salad (shared), I was only able to manage one slice, but it was a happy slice. My first time trying Detroit-style and it didn't disappoint. PS: There's a tiny, very lumpy and bumpy parking lot in the back that is very tricky to maneuver back out of. If it hadn't been for an Uber driver who got briefly trapped back in there with me, I might still be there today

There is no…read moreshortage of pizza, as they have anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 pizza restaurants using their family recipe to make some of the best pizzas in America. As the third-largest producer of tomatoes in the entire country, this key pizza-making ingredient not only sets New Jersey's classic 'tomato pies' apart from any ordinary pizza. This 10,000-square-foot, two-story establishment with a neon-lit sign on Glenwood Ave in Bloomfield asks, "Just another pizzeria?" They also house a 20-seat speakeasy that's open Thursday through Saturday called the Rab.bit Hole that can be found upstairs behind a hidden entrance. Opened in 2020, Blue Steel Pizza Company is the answer and should become obvious after looking at the menu. A reservation was easily made via Resy. My partner and I were greeted at the host station and got a regular table in the 1st-floor dining room by the pizza oven in the middle. The vibe was modern and industrial. Patrons had to use their phone flashlights to read the menu as the lighting was pretty dim. They are known for their Detroit-style pizza--a pie baked in a rectangular, traditionally blue-steel pan, the kind once used by autoworkers. It's made with a blend of mozzarella cheese and traditional Wisconsin brick cheese that melts down the side of the pie, making for a burnt, gooey, cheesy crust. It's cold-fermented for three days and is closer to sourdough. It has real flavor and an airier texture. It's like a lighter version of a Sicilian with a buttery crust. As a starter, we decided on the Chopped Salad. For our main entrée, we opted for the Jersey Tomato Pizza Pie. Portions run big enough for sharing, and we downed them with the 1911 Cider. The pizza crust was light, airy, and crispy with the right amount of fresh ingredients, making the ensemble tastefully delicious. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating, and our server was Adam. The price was comparable to the area. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this place.

The first margherita pizza I ordered was delicious and looked exactly like the photos they advertise online -- fluffy wood-fired crust, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and overall high quality. That positive experience is the reason I ordered again. Tonight, however, I opened the box and received what looked more like a thin-crust cheese pizza with tiny pieces of what appeared to be spinach scattered on top instead of fresh basil. The crust was thin and flat, not the thick, airy wood-fired dough that is advertised on their website and delivery platforms. The fresh mozzarella was also replaced with grated cheese, which completely changed the pizza. When I called the restaurant, I was told they do "Tavern Thursdays," where the margherita pizza is made differently -- thin crust, grated cheese, and basil sprinkled on instead of the traditional version. My issue is not necessarily that they offer a different style on Thursdays -- it's that this was NOT clearly advertised anywhere on the website or ordering platform where I placed my order. I was instead told that the information is posted on Instagram. That is unacceptable. Customers should not have to check a restaurant's social media to find out that the item they're ordering is completely different from what is being advertised on the actual ordering platform. If the pizza is going to be fundamentally changed one day a week, that should be clearly stated on the website, menu, and delivery apps before checkout. Otherwise, it feels misleading and false advertising. The pizza I received looked nothing like the photos used to advertise the margherita pizza, and not at all like the one I previously received. Really disappointing experience, especially after such a great first order.
