Do NOT go to this Caliber Collision. Dropped my car off to be "fixed" and picked it up with even more damage to an area of my car that wasn't there before. Caliber Collision never notified me of the damage when I picked up my car. When I called to notify them I was instructed to send pictures, then to bring the car in again to be reviewed, just for the manager to not let me leave for over 30 minutes to try and "explain" how the damage was there before dropping off the car and they are not liable for the damage THEY caused. Save your self from having to create additional claims and pay more money to fix your car from the additional damage this shop WILL cause. read more

Caliber Collision took care of my repairs for a fender bender under an insurance claim and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. They drove me to where I needed to go after I dropped it off and repaired everything within a few week. Fidel Sanchez, service advisor, was incredibly kind and respectful and gave me updates along the way. Girl buys new Vette, girl crashes new Vette, girl cry's and keeps crying for 4 excruciating months knowing that there's no way this was going to be repaired to pre accident condition. She finally stopped crying and starting asking why the car was taking longer to fix than to be engineered, that's when I realized that nothing I was told was actually true. I learned that my 13k repair was now 37k and my car had been brought to Chevy for a quality check and certification then to return for cleaup and final QA. Should have it back to me by the weekend. I said ok then I told them to send me the current invoice and every item that was replaced. No one wanted me to see that and it took more than a few phoncalls, finally got the horrific list of things that where messed with. Girl Regresses and starts crying again. After a short time something snapped and I was infuriated by the way I was being taken advantage of by my insurance company and Caliber. I called my insurance company and asked if they could do anything, surely this was beyond reasonable. I must have some legal rights. I was told, in a nice of course, to just go sit down and color. Im now starting to foam from the mouth. Dammit I was not taking that car back and for the first time in my life I was going to fight back legally. I had the list, went to the dealership to find out what they were doing. OMG the only thing that the dealership were contracted by calliber to do was get the car to start. The only thing that car did when they picked it up was start... People they blew up the only good part of my car and lied their asses off with the insurance company to protect everyone but me, I thought my payments were for my protection. That's a joke. I called both caliber and my insurance company out on it, I had proof that they both were not doing what was legal let alone expected, then something different happened, my car was declared a complete loss and the settlement was what I would have expected more than 4 months ago but I didn't have a similar car rental, was terrified of return repairs(nightmare), and I was still paying the note which is 500 per month in interest alone. Caliber refuses to admit any wrongdoing and will only stand behind the dollar not you so great your car looks good and starts.. well you probably just got lucky! Or did you? Check and read everything they give you and that you sign. They can get parts from anyone and anywhere to include salvage yards who don't care or verify the part is working and/or stable. My insurance company isn't mentioned because the are doing the right thing now and I'd love to get this nonsense behind me. More important things needing my tears for sure. Watch your six people! The coyotes are always waiting for sheep and the sheep are beoming scarce. BTW anyone have an old f150 i6 fore sale? It's the only vehicle I can get fixed fairly. When you fix it yourself you get a hell of a deal on labor and the parts are much better. read more

Um, No. This was a bad experience. Yes, I suppose it could have been worse! To their credit, the manager was friendly and acted cordial even when I complained. But Caliber did almost as much NEW damage as they fixed. While I appreciated them "caring enough" to try to correct the NEW damage they did. The second time I took my car in, they messed up my transmission, scratched the inside console and the re-do work was shoddy and incomplete. They told me they would send out a contractors to finish the work (window and dashboard damage) but never did. Phone calls not returned even when they held my car an extra 4 days (without informing me) after when promised it would be ready. I never would of gone here but my insurance talked me into it, they said the work was guaranteed. But a guarantee from the incompetent doesn't mean much. They have several bad reviews on google- fyi. Other than the fact that someone pulled a hit and run on me so I had to come here in the first place, this was an awesome experience! My car was done early and under the quoted price...what else is there to say? Oh, but I can say more... Greg was my service rep, and he was amazing! So friendly, so nice, so punctual. My back bumper had been damaged and needed replacing along with the liner around the tire. He gave me a quote based on the liner he thought it needed, but mentioned that it seemed expensive to him as it's usually not nearly that much, he'd look into it. Lip service, I thought. Also, there was a spot that was not a part of the insurance covered repair that probably needed repainting, but a good buffing off the paint that had transferred would have helped tremendously. I made it clear that neither I nor my insurance would be paying for that, so I fully expected them to leave it alone. Greg said it would probably be 3 days, 4 at the most. This all happened at about 7:30am. At 5:45pm later, I got an email saying I could pick up the car the next morning! I came in, my car was waiting for me. Greg informed me that he had found the right liner at a much lower price, so it was about $200 cheaper than the estimate he gave me. Also, they buffed out my little accident on the fender and it looks great, no charge. The interior of my car was exponentially cleaner than when I gave it to them. They vacuumed, did the windows, and even the gross black hole between the front seats where straw wrappers, spare change and parking meter receipts go to die. I feel like I have a whole new car and all they really did was fix the back bumper! *I just re-read this review and feel I should make sure to mention that I have no ulterior motives. i don't work there. I know no one who does...it just really was that great of an experience! :) read more

The repair work they did on my husband's Ford Focus looks fine-- took a few days longer than original estimate (one week). I'd give them them a good review based on the body work, however... When husband picked up car, rear hatch no longer worked. Hydraulic lift non functional so you have to have some muscle to lift it and hold it up or it crashes on your head. They gave him some line about it being 'wear and tear' and not their problem. They worked on rear bumper. Now rear hatch doesn't work, and they tell us not their problem. It was not like that when we dropped it off. So, paint and body work looks great, but we have an entirely new problem-- not a cosmetic one, a functional one. Apparently it's a quick, $50 fix, which begs the question, why not fix something that broke in your shop while you were working on our car (thousands of dollars worth of work, btw)? Not coming back and cannot recommend them. read more

Despite a good experience with a south Austin location over 10 years ago, I'm surprised Caliber seems so successful. They honestly don't seem to care about getting business or their reputation. I filled out their Request Appointment online form, got submission confirmation, waited a few weeks, and never heard back. When I finally called, I got some excuse about someone else handling online requests, and clearly they had no record of me. They said for insurance work, I needed to fax the insurance estimate. When I admitted that I left my fax machine back in 1995 and asked for an email address, they said they didn't have one! Instead, they directed me to Online Estimate web form. I spent 5 minutes filling it out (lots of required fields, like VIN and such), attached my estimate PDF, submitted, and it said "JPG only". Ugh. I converted the 6 page estimate to individual JPGs and attached the first 4 (their limit), and then it said "form expired, please refresh". WTF?! I was so invested at that point, I actually filled it out again (with the help of auto-complete) and submitted it. Long story short, terrible follow-up. I politely emailed their corporate office with the whole story, including my prior good experience, and they never responded either. My advice is don't even try with Caliber. I wasn't in a hurry, but I wasted a month on them. I drove a bit further to Austin Body Works, and they were completely awesome. read more

I hope nothing ever happens to my car again, but if it does, I will only take my car to Mr. Fidel Sanchez at Caliber Collision located on N Lamar. Accidents happen & I am so fortunate that I was pointed in the direction of Caliber Collision & Fidel happened to be helping me out. I was rear-ended on the Fourth of July & after insurance claims & liability were sorted out, I took my Honda CRV for an estimate and repairs to Caliber Collision on N Lamar on Wednesday, the 10th. Fidel was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to reassure me that all the damages would be fixed & my car would look good as new. Only two short days later, Fidel called me & said my car was ready. He walked me around my car & explained in detail what had been repaired & how. I was amazed because it looked brand new; you can't even tell where I was rear-ended! I am so thankful for Fidel and the team who worked on my CRV to get it looking spiffy and new again :) Hopefully I never have to get my car fixed again, but if I do, I will definitely go to this Caliber Collision! I had someone side swipe my car in and my insurance agent recommended Caliber Collision on North Lamar as the closest one to my home. His referral was spot on. On arrival the receptionist went to get Felix Sanchez, a service advisor and he walked with me out to look at my car and my problem. He listened carefully to what my thoughts, took it to one of his car repair providers immediately and brought it back to me in less than five minutes repaired perfectly. I went in with a problem and out of 102 degree temperatures with a glass of water provided as well. I was in and out of the shop in less than 20 minutes. It was minor, but I didn't know how minor, but Felix thought it could be easy and it was. Anyone who asks me in the future in Austin, I'll send them here. read more

I had a really good experience here and would use Caliber again. When my car was hit a few weeks ago, I asked my regular mechanic where to go and he suggested Caliber, because Caliber specializes in body work. They did the work for less than I was quoted elsewhere and got it done really quickly. Replaced my radiator and fixed some body damage. They also worked with the Geico insurance from the person who hit my car, and payment through them was seamless and fast. read more

Does it get better than this. I was rear ended in my parking lot. Caliber collision estimate and quote was the best out of 4 estimates i had. I went in met hernandez and i was mentioning whether those body lines wud be taken care of. He said we have magicians. yes they did when the car came all done. They even fixed my request for door covers i mean a small outlining so that you dont hit another car when you open your door. All done in 5 days flat. A co-worker reversed into my car. No major damage, but enough to where I needed to have my front bumper fixed. This was my first experience with a repair shop and it was great! The staff at this North Lamar was excellent! They walked me through the process and kept me updated via text messages on a daily basis. I would give one star, but I have to give credit to the customer service I was provided by Fidel and their Regional Manager. Fidel was always looking towards ensuring I was satisfied with the repairs that were being made on my vehicle. The Regional Manager didn't question my concerns and even decided to make repairs without me saying a word, so I thought that was great. However, the quality of their work is 0 stars in my opinion. I had to take my truck back 3 times to be satisfied enough to take it. They have major issues with overspray and tape lines. Also, their buffing needs a ton of work because they burn more paint than they actually buff and shine. DO NOT let them try to repair your dash or interior plastic, the guy that does that is garbage. Also, is pretty much impossible to repair textured plastic parts without it being noticeable. Have them replaced. read more

My repair was covered by another driver's insurance, but they made scheduling an appointment, picking up a rental car, and dropping off a rental car incredibly simple. When I picked up the car and noticed a tiny scratch, Jackie went above and beyond and fixed it with touch up paint, without worrying whether it was from the accident or not. I've never witnessed more dishonesty from a business. While I had also taken cars to caliber collision I stopped due to this location at the braker location. My car had been at the braker location after getting rear ended, then a year later the same car was brought into this location after being rear ended again. An estimate was made about fixing the car and was in touch with Bobby the whole time, after a few weeks, I then got a call saying that they would be unable to fix the car "due to an error in previous work that was done." I called Bobby who told me that the previous work that was done to the car was was done improperly therefore they wouldn't be able to perform their work. As soon as I said that previous work was done by another caliber collision the conversation went silent. Bobby stated that he would reach out to that caliber collision to find out what was done. A few days later, I called Bobby who flipped what he previous said and stated that the other location had done a "very nice job" and the insurance had pointed out that the previous work was flawed and tried to play dumb. The people were always pleasant, but don't let them fool you. read more

Getting into an accident is never pleasant, and I spent longer than most people waiting to get my car repaired. But once I was finally able to take my car in, my Liberty Mutual insurance pointed me to Caliber Collision on North Lamar. Honestly, this place was great. I didn't get a rental car, and Fidel, who was in charge of my car repair, dropped me off himself! He promised a quick repair and delivered even faster - I took in my car on a Wednesday for a bumper and trunk repair and it was ready for pickup the next Tuesday (and that was WITH a Monday off!) I got courier service again to pick up the car, and it looked stunning. The bumper and trunk were seamless, and they even cleaned the interior of the car. All in all, the whole process was painless. I am blown away by how amazing this company is. The belt on my car came loose as I was on my way to work and I just managed to pull into a random gas station. I had just moved to Austin, not knowing a lot of people and knowing nothing about cars. As I sat on my car scratching my head wondering what to do an amazing man called Arnold came to my rescue. Overall they did good on a rear-end accident, but they put the bumper on a bit crooked and gave it back to me with smiles. I brought it back twice and it never got resolved, they gave me the run around and wasted my time and now the warranty is up. They used aftermarket parts instead of dealer parts and now I have to pay someone else to do the job correctly. They don't have the sense to see that the job isn't finished and don't want to protect their reputation if it means more time and billable hours to an insurance company. Now it's going to cost me a couple hundred to replace a bumper that didn't belong on there in the first place. read more

OMG! These guys rock! From making the appt to the completed job ranks an A+. Tyrell Miller has been my service advisor a long time and he's always been professional, polite, and extremely helpful. His can-do attitude makes me feel like someone's watching my back. Even after the work is completed he does a once-over before I get the car back. In today's world of rolling baskets at the grocery store or people hitting you and leaving no info, these guys bring their A game. I was so impressed with the customer service as well as the workmanship at this location. I brought my car in on a Monday for a five day repair and they encountered more issues than they were anticipating. It probably would have needed an extra day and it was really creating a conflict for me. I explained the situation and they really pushed and went the extra mile to get it back to me before the three day weekend. Greg was very professional and excellent to work with.
