I got on-line with Caliber to get a quote for the under carriage of my Jetta and to replace the windshield. And I made an appointment. When I arrived the windshield hadn't been ordered and they needed to look at the car to give me a quote. I said, 'What about the estimate I got on-line?' The response was, 'Oh, we don't honor those.' THEN WHY DO YOU OFFER THEM??? So they looked at the car and the estimate was about the same as the on-line estimate. Even though I was irritated that they had wasted half my day, I said, 'I'll need to make an appointment to get the work done.' I'm only doing 3 stars because I started to get annoyed after a while. I dropped my car off 9/27 just to get my bumper fixed. I was able to pick my car up today. Initially when I dropped it off the guy said it will only take week! I was excited about that. A week later I received a call from a rep who was really flirtatious & he said it should take another week. He also sent over a quote via text. Which my insurance was included. I was very patient. The following week ... I was advised it will be another week due to inventory. I let a week go by w/o communication so I'm guessing within that week the rep was terminated or quit. By then I was assigned to another rep which everything went totally left as far as pricing but it was sorted out and my car looked brand new when I picked her up. I hope to never see them again but in a good way. (No accidents) FYI: If you call which I'm sure they have caller ID they will not pick up. I had my car repaired here and they drew all over my backup camera with sharpie PERMANENT MARKER. The repair staff literally doodled all over my vehicle in a Sharpie as if they were children writing on their parents' wall in crayon. I brought my car here to be REPAIRED and they DAMAGED IT FURTHER. When I called to speak to the general manager he said he wouldn't hear my complaint because I dropped the F Bomb in the midst of my outrage. My exact words to this man were "You drew all over my fucking back up camera with a Sharpie!" These people have the audacity to demand calmness and courtesy from the consumer when their staff outright vandalized my property. Last I checked, vandalism was a CRIMINAL OFFENSE. Perhaps if the staff acted in a CALIBER that even remotely resembled any sort of class I wouldn't feel the need to resort to such callous language. I am sorry but I take great pride in my vehicle. It is my first vehicle and I worked two jobs while attending school full time to be able to afford something nice. Incompetent. I specifically asked for an estimate and said I was willing to pay for some chips in the paint while my car was being repaired for a covered issue. The advisor said they would do it as a courtesy for a good review. Well, guess what it was not done, I was even willing to pay. Upon pick up they said they would do an estimate and i can bring it back. Of course now I do not have a rental, and what happen to complimentary??? So sick and tired of incompetent people everywhere. The advisors name was Justin Strout. The other service advisor was I believe Enrique (can't recall for sure) What he/ Justin should have done was call the other advisor and asked him, OR called me. I gave three stars because the guy lied to me. They did great work...no question, no complaints, and no discoveries at this time. I have Progressive snap shot; Caliber Collision had to remove it to scan the car, but never put it back on. I checked the pockets and the consoles...nothing. Mind you, my car has been parked at the airport for a week and then at my house for a week without moving until last night. I called CC and asked if it may still be there b/c I keep receiving emails from progressive telling me to connect it. The guy said he remembers putting it back on himself when the car was complete. He lied. I know his name but don't want to give him bad press but lying to cya is not cool either. I rechecked the console, door pockets...nothing. Then I felt around on the floor and it was under the passenger seat. How would it get all the way over there if he re-connected it? Having the integrity to say I'm not sure, I don't know, or even, let me look around here is SO much better than just lying to the customer. read more

Worst experience ever and this is coming from someone who works in the automotive industry. My partners car was in there for some accident repairs and we had the "lovely" experience of meeting our service advisor Enrique. Horrible is the easiest way to describe him. The sheer attitude from this man set us off from the day we dropped it off. The day we dropped off the car wasn't even what we scheduled for. We were supposed to get an estimate then go from there but this money hungry man decided it was time to drop off our car that day, then proceeded to get upset when we told him we would need a day to sort out our insurance to get rental coverage then drop it off the next day. The returned statement was summed up too " are you sure? I mean it's your car I guess" then proceeded to walk off. I mean we aren't going to pay the rental when insurance can cover that. As I said before I work in the automotive industry, I understand that these reviews can hurt their pay but apparently that is all he cares about so might as well hit where is hurts. Yesterday was 09-30-24 or close out day in the automotive industry. We received 5 calls total, 4 from Caliber and one from the GM Jesse. This was our day off and was ruined by the relentless calls of a person who wanted his money. When I spoke with Enrique on the phone after the second call, I told him we were out and about and wouldn't be able to get the car til tomorrow. In return we received "A are you sure you cannot pick it up today. What is the problem, do you need a ride or something?" First off A-hole, that is not how you speak to a customer and second off I nor my partner need to explain why or what we are doing and why we cannot come get the car. In the end, we got hung up on. In the span of 15 minutes we got called another 3 times. I spoke with the GM on the last one and he agreed to wave the fee of a part not covered. We agreed to come and pick it up that day. At the end of picking up the car we were handed the key by him, no words exchanged and walked off. Guess he didn't care about the JD power or whatever survey they use to review advisors. All in all the work done was great, though I bet he didn't even ask the insurance about the Valve Gasket I mentioned but oh well. Bottom Line: Expect to pay them, and you do MUCH of the work! Details: I ran over a tire left on the highway several weeks ago which tore the splash shield underneath the engine of my car. Knowing that Caliber Collision is a preferred body shop by my insurance company, USAA, I went straight to them. I received an estimate and was told it would take 2-3 days to get the parts and likely only around two hours to repair. I waited and waited hearing nothing, then I called and left a message for someone to call me. I waited and waited with no call for two days. When I called again I was told that the person who completed my estimate had been out of the office, as if that was a valid reason for the lack of communication. I asked to speak to the manager. Things didn't get much better. He told me that all of the parts had been in for several days - He told me this same thing three different times in three different ways. Finally, I said I really just want to know when my car would be repaired. He told me to bring it in the next day. I brought my car in early the next day and was left waiting and waiting in the lobby. I finally told them I had to leave because I needed to get to work and that I had someone waiting on me in the parking lot. The person at the front desk told me they thought I was just going to wait there for it to be repaired. I never said I was going to do that. So, now, it's 5 PM and, again, I have heard nothing, so I'm calling again. When I called just now I was told that some of the parts weren't in (this is the car I was going to wait for in the lobby to be fixed this morning?). Incredibly poor customer service. I am giving the stars to one employee who walked out to see the damage to my car in person. Other than that, their new system and process in place is a sham. Perhaps this so-called advanced method of providing a quote based on a rigidly designed application over the phone through their app can seem cool. But hold on, where is the human expert who can more accurately and correctly assess the damages and thus provide a thorough inspection? No, they send you a day or two later some random figure as a quote. When you call in to request clarification, a child answers the phone that knows nothing about the trade. The operator was in a hurry to end the conversation since she did not have a clue about the topic, CAR BODY REPAIR. Doesn't matter. I ask if I can talk to an expert to discuss the quote. But for that, I was ordered to make an appointment to start working on the car during which a more accurate assessment of the cost can be made because the experts will have to take the car apart and can have a clearer picture. Wait wait wait. Isn't the whole idea of an assessment to provide the customer with a fairly close estimate of what the repair should cost? Of course, something might show up after the car gets into the repair phase, but the unexpected cost will be reasonable since the damage was inspected by a person on the ground, not some application in the cloud. Even if an expert reviews the 4 general and unremarkable limited images through the app. It is close to possible to detect and identify the damages due to the limitations that the app imposes on that most essential process. At Caliber Collision, they have it the other way around. Anyway, the operator started sounding frustrated and rude because she was reading a text on her screen, and my old way of doing things were before her time and were not included in the text she kept repeating. I was simply asking to see an expert look at my car And give me an estimate. She kept saying that since I received a quote from their super smart app, she can give me an appointment to start working on the car. Furthermore, she added that it is natural that the cost will be much higher after the work begins. The appointment is two weeks out and there is no guarantee on how long the fix will take. This system works well when insurance is covering the damage and the customer can meanwhile drive a lender car paid for by the insurance. But what about people paying out of pocket to restore their vehicles and will not be offered and temporary replacement vehicle? More importantly, what happened to common sense and good communication with the customer and knowledgeable employees? When a paying customer gets to the point where he is being made to feel that his time is less important than the service provider and the employees talk condescendingly because they don't know much about their job or are simply not interested in what the customer has to say, Again, this is not against the operator or the technician. The problem is with the environment created by decision makers of the company and is being made worse by poor management. Finally, I just drive by a European Car shop and had it fixed for 1/4 what Caliber Colission quoted and it was fixed on the spot in one hour. Take that as an example of why you should stay away from that franchise and save your money, your time, and avoid frustration. read more

Caliber Collision has really set itself up as one of the least professional autoshop I have ever had work done on. This is the San Pedro site In San Antonio, Texas. They have had my car since Aug. 11 and now it's going on three months do they finally have the car ready to be finished. This is after repeated delays, serious procrastination, and complete lack of communication. I had to get my insurance company USAA on the line multiple times just to get a straight answer from them. At a loss, I Stopped by the I-10 location near UTSA for help, thinking I'd have to leave it for a day or so but I was glad to be wrong. This company is a scam and they will give you your car back in worse wear then how you gave it to them! I originally dropped my car off in mid oct, It has been 46 days and the car is still not fixed, they only give excuses on why they push back dates for repair completion. Brought the car in for scratch on passenger side rear door, damage cost less than 3000 dollars (according to insurance company), car completely drivable, and yet they have had the car for almost 2 months. They tried to give me back my car today with the check engine light on, the passenger door light on, and the whole passenger side doors unable to be locked. The Idiot reprep lied straight to my face and said car engine light was on when I gave it to them, and tried to trick me into taking the car off the lot with all the new problems they gave my car. The best part is the door that actually needed the repair doesn't even fit properly on the car, clips when closing, and scraps the near door junction. Then they pulled out this long list of diagnostic reports from the life of the car as a way to prove that I gave it to them with the check engine light on, but all the flags had been cleared or wouldn't actually cause a check engine light to come on. He then tried to blame that on me for "rushing" them to meet the deadline that THEY set. Clearly if they are "rushed" they will give back their customers crappy work. Missed the entire passenger side damage as well as damage I said I would pay for. Go back to pick up it is horrible job. Swirls in the paint, scratches missed, dent in quarter panel still that was missed and a huge dig/scratch from what appears to be removing my tail light. when I tell them they say it was already there?!?!??!. I am still waiting for them to fix the rest, such as a missing part from inside my car, greasy dirty finger prints on my head liner and now my headliner has fallen. I submitted a request for an estimate that was involved in an accident with another vehicle. The other driver's insurance asked me to get an estimate for the repairs since the other driver sideswiped the entire length of my compact car with his 4x4 truck. It has now been a month and can't even get someone to respond. Since we have 3 vehicles they have lost any business that I may need and will be sure to tell everyone we know about their lack of customer service. If you have to try and get someone to accept your business, any service you need doesn't bode well. UPDATE: Less than 24 hours after I posted the above review, the company responded to my honest, negative post. I did send them an email, but have no desire to deal with a company that doesn't want me as a customer. The back story is the the other driver's insurance company who was responsible kept contacting me to determine why I wasn't proceeding with the claim. I contacted a competitor who was more than happy to take the car and deal with the insurance company. I wrote the review yesterday after I dropped the car off for service. Since I am disabled and my husband is overseas, I contacted Caliber because it was closest to my home even though there were many negative postings on Nextdoor. The other business is further away but I feel confident that they wanted me as a customer and the inconvenience to pick up the vehicle is already less than dealing with a company that apparently only responds to reviews on Yelp. When I tell a business that I won't return, I do follow through on that statement. There are plenty of businesses that understand that customers have choices. LATER UPDATE: It gets even better. I brought in a Jaguar XJL Supercharged 470 HP monster of a car worrying if they would take care of it properly after getting a run in with a dear off of camp bullis rd (beware of dears out there, they are all over the place). Juan from Caliber is a man of his word when he says "we want to bring your car back to pre accident condition". We had trouble finding out what was wrong with my wheels due to a shaky rattling after hitting that deer, and even had it taken to 3 different shops just to fix it properly. Juan stood by and was not going to take a ok fix but a perfect fix until the job was done. Caliber Collision seems to be a perfectly acceptable collision repair shop. Like virtually all repair shops the quoted price is never the final price. I guess this is the most difficult pill to swallow. The old saying, "it is what it is," aptly applies. So I took my Maserati in due to some trunk damage as a result of being rear ended. Sorry, did I say Maserati? I meant Mazda. Six of one... Anyway, I had actually been to the insurance adjuster's place first and was quoted what seemed like a reasonable price of the repair (not my fault so I wasn't paying). After getting the quote he said I could take my car just about anywhere, so Caliber had the earliest opening, 6 weeks out. The initial estimate was a tick over a grand. After leaving my vehicle on the agreed upon date, I returned 8 days later to pick up my spanky new ride. Things looked good, mostly. The minor dent was gone, but it turns out they just replaced the trunk. They did, however, repaint it. There were a couple of sand flecks under the new paint which the tech was able to repair. We completed the walk around and identified a scratch that wasn't previously identified. I was told I could get it touched up at my convenience. The work looked pretty good, and the guy doing the walk around seemed eager to please, despite it being a Saturday. In fact, he's the one that did away with the sand fleck under the paint. The paperwork shocked me as the price turned out to be more than double the previous estimate - glad thing I wasn't paying, sort of. The biggest reason for me marking them down is the wait time in office. When I arrived, I waited while the man in back collected the previous estimate and did who-knows-what. This took literally 25 minutes. Then, upon pickup, same deal - maybe 40 minutes twiddling my thumbs (Saturday with only 1 other person in the place). Plus, the coffee tasted like burnt motor oil - just an aside (didn't impact review). Anyway, I've been to 2 different collision shops in town for repairs and they all seem on par. What's nice about Caliber is their lifetime warranty. In a dozen years, should my Maserati's paint where the repair was performed start flaking, they'll fix it. I was rear ended and all of the damages was fixed sooner than promised and everything looked awesome.My Jeep looked showroom new and it is a 2016. Alex kept e well informed on the progress of repairs. On another note, I forgotten that I had left a good amount of money in the Jeep, it was still there when I picked the car up. While driving at night I came over a hill and there were large chunks of metal scattered around the highway, I was unable to swerve and miss the metal. Completely destroyed my front bumper and caused various damage throughout my vehicle. My insurance had me bring it to caliber and they were AMAZING, the front desk staff was very kind and talked me through the steps, and the mechanic (Juan) kept me updated throughout the entire process of my car being fixed!
