At the height of the recent rains, I realized there was water inside the body of my BMW. There had been work done by Caliber at the bottom of that area, and I thought they might have accidentally plugged up a drainage hole. The manager checked what work had been done, and quickly discounted that possibility, but offered to test drive the car to help diagnose the problem. After a while, he brought me to where my car was up on a ramp, with water pouring out from a drain plug his tech had removed. On the ground below, they spotted small chunks of glass, and it became clear that the glass pieces were from a previous broken window replacement at another repair shop, that had plugged up the drain. Caliber could have said "not our problem", and I might have had an expensive trip to the BMW dealer. Instead, with no charge, they took care of me. I definitely recommend them for their service attitude, as well as the quality of their work. read more

I blew the motor in my 2010 Ford Flex. Took it into South Valley. Service writer Steve Perry wrote up the estimate. But I added a few more paint changes and fixes. All work was completed on time at very fair prices. From the nice receptionist up front to the awesome mechanics and body man that took care of my car. I didn't have a very good experience here. They have good ratings overall but that didn't really match my experience. My minivan got hit by an uninsured motorcyclist, and the passenger side rear door had to be replaced. My auto insurance sent me here. The initial guess was about three weeks. I didn't get my car back for seven weeks. I completely understand that things sometimes happen and repairs take longer than expected, but here are all of the issues I experienced: * First they mistakenly ordered brand-new parts instead of used parts. When the insurance company found out, they rejected the order and forced them to re-order. The insurance company insists that Caliber should have known better, the insurance policy is to always try to get used (reconditioned) parts first. Anyway, that caused a delay of at least a week. * I emailed them four times and never once received a response. They sent me emails, but when I wrote back with questions I never got a response. * Two times I called and my rep wasn't there. They said he'd call me back but he never did (I waited a full 24 hours). I had to keep calling until I got him at his desk. * On four separate occasions (once in person, once by phone, and twice by email) I asked if they could fix a separate dent in my car unrelated to the accident, and bill me separately. I've done this before at different collision companies, it seems like a win/win because I can have something else repaired at the same time as it's already in the shop. Both on the phone and in person they said yes, they'd be happy to do this - but then they never did. I finally just gave up. If they had just said no that would have been okay. It was the lack of follow-up that makes me upset. * When I got my car back, SEVEN weeks later, I discovered a few hours later that my radio was broken. Turns out my antenna goes through the part of the car they replaced and they forgot to hook it back up. Had to bring it back and wait a few hours for them to figure that out. They were very nice about it, but really I shouldn't have had to bring it back. * When I called my insurance company to check on my rental car coverage, they said that Caliber had completely neglected to update their computer systems, so my insurance company wasn't able to track the status of the repair. The only plus was that they picked up the cost of my rental car coverage once my insurance ran out. I had to fight for it a bit, but once they agreed they took care of that with no hassle at all. I was quite happy with that. Finally, since the repair that door has failed to auto-close twice now. It's probably not lined up quite perfectly. It never fails twice in a row so I really don't want to bring it back only to have them keep the car for a day or two and not fix it. I'm just tired of being without my car. read more

Found this place thanks to an oil change groupon. Although I only went here for an oil change I found out they have a lot more services. What has me wanting to come back is the great service. The guy who helped me was really nice and also did an inspection on my car letting me know what else had to be done eventually. They have a nice heated (it was really cold that day too!) waiting room with a lot of magazines to read while you wait for your car to be serviced. I was in and out in about 45 minutes even with some people already there. Great job guys keep it up! read more

I needed to fix the back bumper from a hit-and-run accident, and Manny was my service advisor. He gave me a time estimate that the job would be done before end of the following day, but he got it done in less time and call me even before noon. He offered to drop the car off at my place since I couldn't arrange a trip to the shop right away. When I received my car, it was in perfect condition - looked brand new that I couldn't tell there was a scratch on the bumper before. Not only that, the team gave my car a car wash, vacuum and tire dressing. My 4-year-old car looked totally brand new inside out! These guys are not professional at all. First i drove there they didn't accept my car because I needed to schedule an appointment. I scheduled an appointment, I brought my car, they made me wait for an hour then they asked me to leave my vehicle overnight to get an estimate on repairs. So, I left my car. Next afternoon they called me, saying that they can not give me an estimate because they can not evaluate prices of some parts. This is ridiculous. How can you name yourself professional repair shop where you can't even treat your customers with basic respect. read more

I went in the other day for an oil change, 27 point inspection and 'free' car wash. What are the odds that on that late June day, it's freakin raining!! hahaha oh well, they still washed the car for me. The oil change/inspection took about 30-40 minutes. There were a few areas that needed attention. I wasn't surprised. Like one of the guys said "all you do is drive the car right, gas and drive?" haha apparently there's something called 'maintenance' that cars need every once in awhile. Robert was the one who went over the inspection check list. Robert was very nice and patient with any questions I had. I took my car in a few days later for 2 new tires and brakes. The prices he quoted me seemed fair. After dropping off my car, they were able to give me a ride to work. It was nice not having to worry about having to have someone pick me up. The office staff was very nice and welcoming. I felt good about this place. That they knew what they were doing and not trying to take advantage of people. I will update this review once all the work has been completed on my car, but so far I'm happy with South Valley Coll. & Repair. read more

After an incredibly annoying process of dealing with insurance companies for over a month after being rear ended by a commercial truck on the freeway, South Valley did a fantastic job from start to finish with the repairs on my truck. They were incredibly fast, professional, thorough, and went above and beyond what they needed to do. When there were issues with the insurance payments, they handled this themselves so I didn't need to get involved again. They kept me updated with detailed messages. They called the rental car company to arrange for me to be picked up at their shop. They also even repaired a preexisting dent at no charge. Everything was done in a week and when they discovered that the damage was more extensive then initially thought, they arranged for my rental car to be kept longer. Highly recommended. read more

They were not apologetic and a little rude that they kept me waiting so long despite the appointment. Then the whole appraisal took under 5 minutes and they were supposed to email me the estimate (which they never did). I will be going somewhere else to get the repairs done. read more

These guys are amazing. Top notch service with minimal fuss and extremely professional. I have been to them two times for oil changes bought through Groupon. On the most recent occasion, when I called them to schedule the oil change, the Groupon had already expired. I said I was willing to pay the difference considering how happy I was with their service on the first occasion. They immediately looked up my account with them in their system and offered to honor the expired Groupon. I did not have to pay anything extra. I took my car here for an oil change after finding out it had a lot of problems from the dealership. Twenty minutes later my oil change was complete and they informed me of the SAME issues that my dealership informed me of. No made-up issues that you usually get when you take your car to a most auto-repair shops. A mechanic even spoke to me for awhile on what my options were in regards to possible selling, or trading my vehicle since she's on her last leg. Wonderful facility. Wonderful work ethic. So my cars been rattling and the steering wheel shakes real bad when my car hits small bumps on the roads. I've had bad experience at another auto shop before so I hate dealing with anything car related. I was told by my friends that this is a problem with the shocks and it needs to be replaced. I ignored this problem and drove it for weeks. Until, it was time for me to get an oil change. I found this place through Groupon and scheduled an appointment to get my oil change and 27 point inspection done. While I was there I asked if they could look at the problem for me. The worker was nice enough to look at it. It turns out that there was no problem with the shocks and I didn't need new ones but it was a problem with an axle, the strut was not staked properly by the previous mechanic. (I had my car towed to the previous mechanic shop to fix this problem where he kept raising the estimates) The workers fixed this problem and other problems with my car at no charge. They were clear on explaining everything and let me know the things I need done. Thanks to Groupon, I found an honest shop that I will be going to. No more stressing due to car problems. read more

The repair was very well done. A red car scratched the side of my white car and left several scratches + paint on my door and rear bumper. They were very noticeable scratches and I immediately wanted to fix it. I was afraid that South Valley Collision & Auto Repair would somehow screw it up and leave a dent because they weren't getting new parts for my car, they were just resurfacing it. I got my car approximately a week later and saw that the side of my car was VERY SMOOTH. I felt so happy that they made it look as good as new. The service is great as well. I had my Subaru Sport Wagon for less than a month when one day, driving through the Saratoga REI's parking lot, at slow parking lot speed mind you, that a fine gentleman backed his car up into my beloved Subbie's right side. Thus bringing me to South Valley for the damage done to the rear, right-side quarter panel. The staff was very professional and didn't use the condescending tone that auto shops normally use on women. The damage wasn't too extensive but it was enough that the quarter panel had to be pulled out and repainted. They did such a great job matching the paint that it looks as if the blind motorist had never hit me at all. read more
