I purchased a standard oil change from groupon.com. I was running about 10 mins late, so I called to let them know. the lady on the phone was grumpy saying, "okay.... ill have to let the technicians know.." (hey, at least i called) I arrived at 11:10 for my 11:00 appt and the lady at the front desk tells me they are running 15 mins behind. 15 minutes turned to 30 mins, then i finally see my car moved. The oil change itself took an hour- oil change, inspection, and car wash. Thank you for not trying to sell me useless car things, that was appreciated. so after an hour and a half of waiting in a boring waiting room (no bathrooms, coffee, water, etc), my car was washed and all lubed up. Left at 12:45. I wouldnt come back here or pay more than the $18 groupon for this read more

I can not express how grateful I am for the service south valley auto inc has provided me. They fixed my 2011 ford focus like brand new after being rear ended on July 28th. I originally took my car to be repaired at another body shop who handed my car back to me in three days and told me it was fixed when it was clearly still damaged.( my bumper was bowed out and still not sitting right on the frame, tail light covers were loose after they replaced them, and my trunk didn't close properly still). Farmers ins. then recommended me to sv auto inc. I brought it to An and he took a look and found that the other body shop did not repair my car completely. And even broke a piece of my bumper cover which is why my rear bumper cover bowed out. An ordered me a brand new bumper cover, replaced the rear bumper panel that was not repaired by the previous body shop and he replaced my trunk latch after it was being damaged from the trunk not closing properly. I'm glad I decided not to go back to the previous body shop who told me they would fix the problems. I didn't trust going back to the place because when I spoke with their manager he told me he didn't see anything wrong with the work they did to my car but said " he would fix it how ever I wanted" which is not what I wanted to hear after I explained this is not how my car is supposed to look. I wanted him to understand how it SHOULD look. Luckily An at sv auto inc was able to find all the issues the first place missed or over looked I am so happy to have came here to south valley auto inc. An took great care of me and my car. He set me up with a rental and he understood I would be leaving on vacation that weekend and made sure my car was finished before I left town. A few months back I got into an accident that wrecked the whole driver's side rear of my Lexus IS 250 so I came here for repairs through Safeco insurance. I worked with James through the entire process and let me tell you, he is a pleasure to deal with and very patient. I am the kind of person who has a lot of questions and prefers electronic communication and he was extremely responsive to e-mails. I had a lot of questions regarding what parts were going to be new and used and how they choose new vs. salvaged parts during the repair process. James was open to answering each one. The work was great. The car had a previous bumper replacement that left the color severely off from the rest of the body. He made sure that all of the new painted parts matched my car perfectly and walked through all the repairs done when he handed the car back to me. I called him several times once I got my car back because he also replaced the suspension to ask if different things were normal. He was patient with me as I was adjusting back into my car (hadn't driven it for a while). I also called a few months later about a completely unrelated issue (wasn't sure at the time) thinking it may have had to do with the work done on the car and he was even open to the idea of looking at my car after that much time had passed! I am *so* impressed. I rarely take the time to write a YELP review, but South Valley has earned my five star rating and they deserve a SHOUT OUT!! I originally went for the Groupon Oil Change but learned there were a few things that needed immediate attention. As much as I love my 2004 VW Bug Convertible, it has been nothing but trouble since buying it USED less than two years ago. Currently, the gears are slipping on the transmission and the VW Dealership Mechanic said that the car's days are numbered (unless I want to buy a new transmission $3.5-5K). After explaining that to the mechanic @ South Valley, he was able to help me prioritize the repairs needed on the car. Their customer service is impeccable. They are timely, courteous and honest. In the end, I paid LESS than the estimate for the service that was done on my VW (when does THAT happen?) and I love that they washed my car! Elva at the front desk is wonderful along with the other employees I dealt with at South Valley. I would highly recommend them!! This is a rare find in the Silicon Valley! read more

Came here for an oil change and 27 point inspection from a Groupon and I am pleased! They were very professional, quick, and friendly. They were also very easy to get a hold of and schedule an appointment! The waiting room wasn't that bad at all, either. Upon arrival, their TV was pure static and broken, which creeped me out when I walked in. In my head, I was thinking about Samara from The Ring. Scary. Otherwise, I took a short nap on the comfy couch while waiting, hehe. Nicely AC-ed during the hot weather day. Next thing I knew, the employee woke me up saying my car was ready! If you're not the type to nap, I'd bring a tablet or a laptop since they have free wifi, too. I'd definitely come back for an oil change or any car maintenance! Wait time wasn't as bad as it had been (apparently the Groupon rush had died down) prior to my oil change. Staff was friendly and I didn't get a bunch of recommendations for services I didn't need. Was a little disappointed, though, that they couldn't tell me why my 'Check Engine' light was on - what all are you inspecting in a 27 pt inspection if not that? When I asked about it I was told it would be $95 to read it, but they could apply that towards any work I needed done. Short story: took it to Winchester auto - they gave me the reading for free. Replaced an O2 sensor for $20 on eBay motors. Glad I didn't just shell out the $95 plus who knows how much they would have charged for that 2 foot cable. read more

I love the GroupOn deal that they have for an oil change. I believe the GroupOn is running all the time so that you can come here every 3,000-5,000 miles and bring a GroupOn with you each single time. So you ask, why only 4-stars and not 5-stars? I think the 27-point inspection isn't very thorough. The reason why I say this is because any time that I bring my car to other mechanics, they always tell me about a certain leak in my car. Well, I've come to South Valley Auto several times and they've never said a peep about there being anything wrong with my car. Either the 27-point inspection isn't designed to be thorough or the mechanics just do a half-assed job because we're GroupOn customers. read more

Wish i could give half stars... i'd say 3.5 stars total. I also had the Groupon for the oil change and inspection. i'd read here and on their website that a car wash is also included, however my car was not washed. i'm kind of "whatever" about that, but the poor thing does need a wash. i bought the groupon when it was offered (back in September) and purposefully waited a month before redeeming, figuring the wait would go down. It did not, and i also had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment slot. That was a bit annoying, but again, i'm fairly "whatever" about it. The oil change was good, i was in and out in about 45 minutes, which is what i expected. The waiting room really is quite nice, with comfortable couches and a selection of magazines (i brought a book). The inspection, however, was very interesting. About a week ago, i'd taken my car to another mechanic to have an inspection; my car is making a knocking sound when turning and going over bumps. i was diagnosed with needing a new sway bar and struts, to the tune of about $1400. When i received my sheet for the "27 point inspection" today, it was noted that the struts were "inspected" but not mentioning needing any repair or replacement. Considering the first mechanic took me out and showed me where the struts were seeping, and what exactly was going on with the areas that need replacing, i'm loathe to trust the inspection i received today. (they did mention that my air filter needed replacing, which i also got on my first inspection, so they did get that "right") The oil change was fine, and so far i have no complaints. As to the inspection... i am not sure how to treat it; other than to take it under advisement, and still get the second opinion i was planning on getting anyway. read more

Update! At this point, An and Steven and the crew at South Valley know me by name and car! I've taken my whip there twice now and the last time was a doozy. My ex decided to play werewolf when I was driving (which involves him drunk, me sober, BITING my leg as we're driving to Mountain View on the 85E the day before Christmas. Don't ask). My foot goes into the gas pedal and at 75 mph my car hits gravel and goes into a double spin across the entire highway. Since my racin' daddy taught me how to drive, I'm pretty spiffy at controlling the spin and manage to avoid hitting both the fast lane center divider and the looming tree and overpass railing on the other side as I danced in between two paces of traffic. Luckily I hit a lull and no one creamed me, but in my final spin turn facing backwards in the slow lane, I managed to hit the roadside curb and snap my entire front suspension system. The cop that demanded he push me off the highway also destroyed my recently refurbished bumper by South Valley from two months before. Since I had plenty of love bites and side swips left over from idiotic, untalented parallel student parkers in Santa Barbara, I decided to take out my $1,000 deductible with Farmer's to completely re-do my Pontiac G6 GT. Unfortunately, the bumper was considered a seperate claim by Farmer's, since it wasn't part of the original accident, so I was looking at paying another $1,000 just to have the bumper reworked! Because South Valley strongly appreciates customer loyalty and good reviews, An worked me a deal to re-refurbish their own previous bumper handiwork for only $500 instead of charging me the full $700 or having to take an additional $500 hit from my insurance. Worth it! The final bill to insurance was $7,500 in damages (not including the bumper), it took a full month, with back ordered parts and horrible rental experiences from Enterprise, to get back my car but it's looks as if it's in its original birthday suit. One downfall: I just discovered last night that the team had an oversight on the tape pinstriping on my side panels when they painted my doors, so I'm working on getting my car into the shop one last time before my lease ends this month to get my $10 pimp lines back on the car. But not enough of a disappointment to take away a star or down grade the stellar service from An and Steven. ................................................................................................................ I loved this freakin' place! Despite my horrible experiences with Courtesy Chevrolet, they managed to get one thing right by referencing me to South Valley when I needed collison repair. Some girl backed into my parked car in the Presidio, luckily leaving a note, and so I needed my back bumper replaced and my trunk realigned and undented. South Valley is both a direct estimator for both my Farmer's Insurance and State Farm (which luckily the girl who hit me used), so I didn't have to drive elsewhere or wait for an inspector to arrive from State Farm to double check their estimates. After filing the claim, I simply called South Valley and they contacted State Farm with all of the info and got my work approved right away. I had an appointment to take my car in within the week and got my baby back 5 days later. An was amazing at keeping in touch with me the whole time and actually cared to ask for stories about my other Santa Barbara car kiss marks from my college days. They do refurbish your original body parts, which I wasn't too sure of, but with a lifetime warranty on their work and the pristine look of my car afterwards, I feel more than assured. Don't be deceived by the appearance or location of this place. The staff is friendly and the main office is nicely maintained and smells fabulous. Their labor rates are reasonable too, despite the fact that I didn't pay for a dime of it anyway, I'm planning on taking my car back here for the remainder of my self inflicted car damage under my deductible. read more

Before my driving days I never knew how much of a stressful experience accidents are. Luckily there are companies like Caliber Collision here to assist you along the way. I have been in a couple accidents and both times I've gone through Caliber's service. They are quick to get your car into the shop, and they definitely do not rest till the keys are back in your hands. I can imagine this couldn't be done without an excellent managent team that focuses on organization. Over the two visits at Caliber I can conclude that it is one of the best centers to get a repair. I bought a $18 group on for an oil change and 27 point inspection. I arrive at 9:00am but was told to wait until they were ready at 9:30am. Then I waited until 10:30am until it was complete. In the 'questions' section of the group on, someone had asked if a car wash came with the deal, to which they'd replied "yes". But I guess that was from an earlier group on, because the receptionist was confused as to why I asked such a thing. I think this was a group on error. The owner was very nice enough to honor my request for a car wash (which included vacuuming the inside). Very friendly service. Offered to rotate my wheels for $10, but I declined since my dad wanted to do it himself. After the car wash I finally left at 11:00am. It's a bit of a time sink to go here but the service is good and reliable, decent employees and owner. I'd come here again... but I'd keep a vigilant eye on my car to know when it's done instead of waiting for the receptionist to inform me. read more

Love this place! I found this place thanks to Groupon. I haven't gone anywhere else for oil changes since finding this place. Always make an appointment! They seem pretty busy and even with an appointment, I've had to wait a bit longer. The place is a bit hidden among a plaza full of auto body shops. The lady at the front desk is always really friendly. They have a separate recently upgraded waiting room apart from the reception/lobby area. They have a TV, sofa, etc. I usually bring my Kindle and relax while waiting for my oil change. Afterwards, the mechanic hands you a 27 point inspection sheet and go over things that they've noticed that may need attention in the future or immediately. But I've never felt like I was getting conned or pressured into fixing something asap like I do at other auto body shops. This is def my go-to for all my car needs now! read more

I have been here twice since my last review, and I am still very happy. Mike changed the oil on my car both times, and was done today in 27 minutes!! I really like this place because they don't try to con you into buying unnecessary services. The only time Mike mentioned anything extra was when I needed rear brakes, and I was close to ruining my rotors at that point (squeak, squeak, sccrraappee when I would use my brakes). So the service was definitely needed to keep me safe, and to keep my rotors intact. I hope they keep running the Groupon deals so I can keep coming here. This place is awesome. read more

I had a rather large item fall from the rafters in my garage and put a good size dent in the hood of my PT Cruiser. I took the car to Caliber Collision on Angela St. Nema was courteous and a big help during the check in process. He said it would be about a week and a half for the repairs which was fine with me. The car was finished in just under a week and they did a beautiful job. They not only fixed the damage perfectly, they even detailed the rest of the car which was a complete surprise. My intention for this review is to give constructive feedback in the hopes that they improve by it. So I got my oil change done here today (yes, it was with the Groupon). First issue, you need to plan on scheduling an appointment 2 weeks in advance minimum. I tried twice and this was always the case, same with the other guy who was also getting an oil change, 2 weeks. I'm used to being able to schedule one the same week so it was rather disappointing since I really needed one. I do like that you can schedule online though so that was a plus. I arrived at 7:55am for my 8:00am appointment, but was told it was at 8:30am when they checked my name ( I just checked my online confirmation email and it was at 8:00am not 8:30am, another reason why I like that you can schedule online with them) I went to Starbucks and came back, no big problem, I didn't have my coffee yet so I didn't argue. The receptionist was helpful in telling me where I could find some coffee since I now had to wait 30 minutes. They didn't roll my car into the garage until 8:49am, they have nice glass windows in the waiting area so you know when your car is being worked on. They have a great waiting area with big couches, but no TV or Internet service They didn't finish with my car until 9:55am. So almost 2 hours from my 8am appointment. So we get a free car-wash with the Groupon. I have never had a bad car-wash before, now I have. There is still dust/dirt on the side of the car. Noticeable dirt, that you can write your name on. I was so amazed at what they called a car wash I actually took pictures because it was so bad to show my friends. The windows were clean though, so just call it a free window cleaning. If I wasn't in a rush because I was running an hour late and if it didn't look like it was going to rain anyway I would have asked them to re-wash the car. Hopefully the rain will finish getting the dirt off. Technicians were friendly and just warned me about the battery and needing new wiper blades. So that was a positive. read more

The folks at South Valley have worked on my car several times both for body work and regular servicing. I've always been extremely happy with their service, especially the feeling that you are dealing with good people that are in it for more than just making a buck. After they repaired some body damage from an accident I was in, I brought my car back to them after getting an oil change somewhere else and the mechanic there telling me that I needed hundreds of dollars in work done. I didn't trust that guy, he was smarmy.. So I brought my car to South Valley to have them check it out. Not only was the other guy trying to sell me some unnecessary services, they left my car a mess. The guys at South Valley found that I didn't need any of the services the other guy was trying to sell me, my emergency brake just needed to be adjusted and fluids topped off. That was 2 years ago and 2 accidents and several oil changes later, I am still a very happy customer. read more

I bought the recent deal on Groupon for the oil change / 27-point inspection. I purchased two certificates, one for each of my cars. When I arrived I was treated quite rudely by the woman at the front desk. They took my car and in under 25 minutes came back with the following. Their 27-point inspection sheet indicated I needed a new timing belt, as well as my brake and transmissions fluid replaced. When I pointed this out, I was told these recommendations are based on the amount of miles on my car only. He said they can't tell if those items are needed or not, just that at the amount of mileage I have these things need to be done. Later that day I found a puddle of oil under my car. My pickup truck was tagged with graffiti all along one side including both metal and glass. I was referred to Caliber Collision on Angela Street off Almaden Expressway by my insurance company. Workers at Caliber were able to remove the graffiti and restore the original paint without repainting. The cost was much less than my insurance deductible so I am withdrawing my insurance claim. I was there at 8 a.m. and out before noon of the same day. You can't beat that for fantastic service!! This place is highly recommended. It is so comforting to know that no matter how many times my poor car gets beat up by bad drivers out there that I can count on South Valley to restore my car to like new condition. I brought my car in twice in 2 months from people rear-ending it to others just backing into it while its parked, and An always manages to fix it up. When my car was hit the first time I called the dealership for a recommendation, but they had some shady kickback type of place with no online history/records. My Expedition was vandalized after New Years. State Farm gave me their top 3 repairs shop to get my Truck fixed and I chose South Valley Collision. I was kinda hesitant because it was far from my house but I'm Glad I chose them! Everything went smoothly! They scheduled the tow truck to pick up my Truck at home and they kept me up-to-date on the repairs. My car was given the utmost care by An Tran. Even calling in, everyone who answered the phone were friendly. An Tran even did a walk through when we picked up the car. They did an EXCELLENT job with the truck. LOOKS BRAND NEW!! I'm giving them 5 stars and an EXCELLENT customer service only because when our Expedition was stolen 6 years ago, the dealership did a half-ass job fixing it and it took them almost a year to finish! To be fair, Allstate sucked on processing the claim that even UC Police, the detective that helped us was disappointed and offered to be our witness if we decide to sue. I exepected a lot more from the dealership and was disappointed with the outcome. We had to spend additional $$ on fixing the truck the right way. So, I highly recommend South Valley Collision. I thought my last mechanic was amazing - until I found out he was watering down my fluids to cut costs. I dumped my mechanic before that because he was recommending unnecessary work. It's a pleasure to use South Valley. Robert is the best!!! Their pricing is so reasonable, it's profoundly easy to communicate issues (major plus!) and the customer service is unbeatable. Dropped my van off for front brakes and 100K - she's running like a champ - and they even fixed a loose bolt on the passenger door without my even mentioning it! And holy crap! they vacuumed my car! I was super pleased with how the Caliber team took care of me from the estimate to communicating with my insurance to fixing my car and even helping me out with a battery issue afterward. This place is heaven sent! I was referred to by a friend and it was the greatest gift she could ever give me! I took my car in (a 2005 Ford Mustang GT) after I was hit in an accident, and not only did they take care of me quickly, but their customer service is excellent and their attention to detail is superb. My car looked better than it did BEFORE the accident. Steve is definitely the best because he has integrity and he's very very very honest and does everything by the book without overcharging you. I had to give him a hug after the great job he and his technicians did. Everyone deserves a round of applause here. I LOVE them so much, I'm taking my car in for its 60K a month later (after the accident). I had to bring my Lexus in the first time, a couple of years ago to repair the rear bumper after being rear ended. I was very pleased with the result and they made the experience positive. Then I had another unfortunate mishap on the freeway last month and I brought my Lexus back to South Valley because I knew I could depend on them to repair the damages. This time, they had to repair the front bumper and the suspension and replaced new tires on my car. An, the shop's manager, was very nice and professional inspected my car and made the experience smooth and easy. I picked up my car last week and I was happy with the result. My preconception was that of a business of auto mechanics who only tolerate their clientele but the people I dealt with- Elva, Steve- knew how to treat a customer and made the interaction as smooth, accommodating and easy as possible. It was a caliber of customer service that one would expect in a higher-end retail environment. Regarding my vehicle, I had been rear-ended at probably 15-20mph and had a dent in my rear bumper cover. Inside of two days, they pulled the bumper cover and replaced/repaired and painted it as well as did any necessary work to my bumper. As well, they detailed my car inside & out and they were open until about 5:00pm on a Friday so that I could get my car before the weekend. Five stars, easy. read more

I walk in and he looks at me and says with a very serious face ' I have bad news' I was like hu really? it's a 2013 civic, He then replies showing me the check list ' bad news is that i can't sell you anything' and we both started laughing. I can't say enough exemplary shout-outs for this company. They looked at my car and gave me a free estimate of my car dent and were extremely courteous from the getgo. Their facility is cleaner than my house (okay, the bar is pretty low - there!) but it looked like you could have a picnic on their floor and not see a bit of dirt in your sandwich. The administrative assistant was extremely efficient and helpful. Steve, the manager came out and was most professional and helpful in telling my husband and I a temporary prognosis (is that the word?) and the different ways (they find the best and least expensive way) on how might fix the dent. As far as auto repair shops go, this place is the real deal. A few months ago when my keys were stuck in the ignition, I searched Yelp for the best possible place to take my car. I decided on South Valley Collision & Auto for the positive reviews and dialogue to reviewers regarding negative reviews. Not everyone is bound to have a stellar time at a repair shop and I was very pleased to see the owner personally taking the time to reach out to those people. Since then I have taken my car here 2 other times for mechanical work. - I love that they have an early bird drop off option, as it is never convenient to lose your car for a day of repair work. - Both times they have called first thing in the morning to explain what they found, accurate estimations and an accurate window of time as to when my car would be ready for pick-up. - I have never left here feeling ripped-off and fully believe that they operate an honest business, something hard to come by in this line of work. - Customer service here is also top notch. - I have never used their waiting room, but they do have one. Having to get work done on your car blows, but this place makes it bearable. I can confidently recommend South Valley Collision & Auto to anyone in need of repair work. It's embarrassing how good they are in terms of service. I already go to Vickers for my car because they are best for Saturns but it is nice to have a backup, just in case. I have used several Groupons for oil changes, and they treat me and the car with all the respect one could hope for. I think I've found the only two places in town that are worth taking a car to. South Valley Auto Repair is as good as it gets. All staffs are super friendly. The mechanics and owner are honest, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. The extra waiting room is very nice and have free wifi. Scheduling and wait time are not bad at all. Highly recommend anyone to come for service and repair. Keep up the great work! read more
