    Calico Hash
    Mia T.

Cool spot for breakfast tacos and more! Really enjoy the hash bowl and the burrito was packed full of flavor. My coffee was so yummy, love the Bees Knees. The potato bites and their signature sauce were a favorite as well. Wonderfully decorated and conveniently located in Murray hill. The service was friendly and our order was perfect. No issues parking, we used the lot behind the building. Not overly crowded and we felt like we had an enjoyable experience.

Calico and Cactus breakfast tacos for the win! I ate here two days in a row and would definitely go back. It gives a family feel when you're dining in. The breakfast tacos although just a bit salty were really good and I like their version of Mexican street corn. The service was very friendly...overall just a really nice spot.

Had a nice lunch with my friend Shannon Wirth and some of her family today at Calico Cactus. This is Week 13 of my #FreeTacosForAYear. Today's choices? I got a Fireproof and a Gravy Crockett. The Fireproof is piled high with delicious brisket, crispy potatoes, poblano pepper, and queso. The Gravy Crockett comes with bacon, green chili chorizo Gravy, and crispy potatoes. Both taste wonderful, especially topped with their medium Verde salsa (i put that on all my tacos here each week. Love it!). They also ran a special today on their chips and queso, which was bogo free, so of course, how could I resist? 13 weeks in and no sign of being tired of eating here. They are absolutely a wonderful addition to the Murray Hill neighborhood. Totally worth the 10 hours I camped outside for the free tacos, and each week I always try to bring a friend or family with me too!

Breakfast, tacos, and open early on the weekends? Yes, please! This was my first visit to Calico Cactus & as you can see I was Customer Number 1 for the day. This meant I got to have a wonderful chat with the manager Chad as he walked me through the menu and what makes CC unique. What I got: iced Bees Knees latte (honey & vanilla topped with cinnamon), Scrambled Eggs on your Face taco (eggs, bacon, potatoes, & queso) & Tumbleweed Tots (hash browns, chorizo, & Monterey jack). I loved that the flavors in the latte really came through. That is something that some places disappoint me on quite frankly, so that is a big plus for CC in my book. I cannot tolerate spicy heat unfortunately, so I went with one of the simpler taco options on the menu. Chad told me it was one of their best sellers & now I know why because it was terrific. The tots were flavorful and come with a dipping sauce with a little kick.

I got two tacos on corn tortillas. One braised beef and the other chicken. I loved the beef one the best. I can tell they use quality ingredients and care about presentation. I also order a lavender latte with oat milk. That also was a really nice treat with smooth coffee and not too sweet which I prefer. The vibe in the place is fun and artsy (like Murray Hill) and the customer service is stellar. P.S.~ their salsas are delicious and super fresh! My fav was the mild.

I love this restaurant! It's situated on a very cute street in Murray Hill, and has a good amount of parking. I arrived at 11:30 on a Tuesday and plenty of seating options- very spacious and bright inside. It is counter service, with super friendly staff. They have breakfast tacos and options all day, and lunch options as well. I ordered the gravy Crockett breakfast taco (spicy! Not too much gravy, just right amount), texas hold em taco (perfect!) and bees knees iced coffee (really good! Not too sweet, perfectly balanced). The tacos looked small but were dense and filling - two was just right for me. Food came out fast, everything was delicious and honestly I want to go back and try everything else on the menu now, it all looked so good and was reasonably priced! Definitely check it out!

Great, fresh food, casual rustic decor, fun atmosphere, and a crew that loves what they do. What a fantastic addition to Murray Hill! We stopped by Calico Cactus for lunch this past weekend and were greeted at the door, told how to order and given some suggestions on what to eat. Your tacos, or quesadilla or pancakes are made fresh on large pans right in front of you, you can choose breakfast or lunch selections and everything slams. It was tough to decide. My wife and I split the Dip duo of queso and guacamole. Both were fantastic alone, and the combination was brilliant. The chips are fresh and tasty. Great appetizer. We also split some of their "tots". We chose Jalepeno and Monterey Jack tots. Both were great. Crispy outside, flavorful inside and the sauces for accompaniment were just perfect. I ordered two tacos, Texas Hold Em and Fireproof. All of their spicy items bite a bit, but in the best way. They're flavorful and level up the taco. All of the meat was flavorful, fresh and delicious. There is also a bar for salsas and toppings. Really good mild, mid and spicy. Amazing new place for breakfast lunch or brunch. I'm sure this will be a staple in Murray Hill for a long time to come. I highly recommend you give them a try.

This new calico cactus location on Murray Hill was a need! I have now been to both locations, I may have to say the Murray hill location takes the St Augustine as far as aesthetics and vibe. The build out of this location is gorgeous, especially if you are familiar with what it once was. The food was amazing, savory and flavorful, and the service from their staff was welcoming and very attentive. I ordered the new tumbleweed quesadilla

Two of my favorite things under one roof sounds like a good plan to me. I love tacos, especially when the tortillas are being warmed up right in front of me. I ordered a Texas Hold'em, which was brisket with eggs and Monterey Jack cheese on a fresh flour tortilla. It was a good size and very filling. I enjoyed that I could choose and add my own fresh taco sauce on top. The menu states you can swap a flour tortilla for a corn tortilla, so there's that option for next time. They serve many drink options.. I already had mine, so I passed, but I did find out their coffee is locally roasted in Saint Augustine at The Streaming Peacock. They also state that they do some in-house roasting, as evidenced by the big Bellwether roasting machine as you enter. I didn't smell anything that smelled like coffee inside, which would have been enjoyable and left me craving a cup of hot coffee or a latte. The concept is different and very Murray Hills-ish. The menu itself will be bringing me back to try many of these various, out-of-the-ordinary items and to check out their "taco drop," which is a new taco of the week option. Ob yea, Remember to turn a quick left as you enter the door for the menus and to order.

Latte and half of a pancake taco (I ate it too fast and forgot to take a picture first)

I'm glad I stopped in this morning to give this place a try. Walked in and was greeted right away, which I appreciated. The last time I was in that space it was a Maple Street and the flow of the restaurant has changed, so it helped to have someone redirect me. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is very open and bright. Pancake tacos caught my eye, so I got that and an Area 51. The pancake taco was simple and yummy, and the Area 51 was good too, but the chorizo is quite spicy. If you are sensitive to spice I would give this one a second thought, but the flavor is good. My latte was great, and they offer milk alternatives, oat milk and almond milk, which I appreciated since I am lactose intolerant. It was a good experience. I will be back!

10/10 absolutely recommend. Great environment, friendly staff, super helpful and caring. Food tastes amazing.

These are tex mex tacos and I loved my Bee's knees latte. Interesting tacos but very good. The service was a little rocky but that's because this is still a brand new place. The people were amazing. The ambiance is nice; however, the seats are so hard that it's not a place you want to stay and talk, or read a book chapter. Next time, I come, I need to bring a seat cushion to be comfortable.

Calico Cactus Coffee + Tacos is one of those spots that instantly makes you glad you walked in. We stopped by and tried a few of their standout bites, starting with the Tumbleweed Tots. Crispy, golden, and seasoned perfectly. These weren't just an appetizer, they were the kind of snack you keep reaching back for until the basket is mysteriously empty. For tacos, we went all in. The Texas Hold'em Brekkie Taco was a total win: hearty, flavorful, and exactly what a breakfast taco should be, comforting but still bold. Then there was the Squawk on the Street, which brought big flavor with juicy, well-seasoned chicken and just the right balance of savory and fresh. Every bite felt intentional and well-crafted. Beyond the food, the vibe at Calico Cactus is what really seals it. It's laid-back, welcoming, and feels like the kind of place you can hang out, grab a coffee, and lose track of time while enjoying seriously good food. If you're in Jacksonville and haven't been yet, put this place on your list. Whether you're stopping in for tacos, coffee, or just a chill spot to unwind, Calico Cactus delivers every time.

The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back. If these small complaints don't bother you the food is very good.

We had to put in some effort to get a spot at the bar and order drinks. The prices seemed very reasonable: a Corona Light was just $3.75, a TacoLu Margarita was only $9, and an Aperol Skinny was $10. After about 15 minutes our table was ready and we were seated on the patio. It was cute and festive as well. Our server, Avery, came over immediately and brought us some fresh chips and salsa.....yum! We all decided on tacos à la carte which were all around $4 or $5. There were a few more pricier options and there were so many different choices made with chicken, beef, pork, seafoods and there were even vegan options. My daughter and I both had one carne asada and one Deb's Verde, (chicken with a light verde sauce.). Both were small flour tacos but both varieties were piled high with meat. I liked both of them very much. My husband had one carnitas taco, one Baja Fish taco, and one Taco Rosa. He said the carnitas one was good, the Taco Rosa, which was ahi tuna, was unique, and the Baja Fish, which was fried fish, was awesome. Overall our service was really good and everyone really enjoyed their meals. The prices were very favorable so we'll probably visit again the next time we're in Jacksonville Beach.
