Chinese Cabbage Salad and Poppi Strawberry Lemon
    Angelina E.

I have only tried their Caesar wrap which is delicious! The chicken is always tasty and the croutons add a nice amount of crunch. The Caesar dressing they serve on the side offers a nice tang to the taste. Their broccoli pasta salad is also very good and I loved the Chinese cabbage salad which was simple but clean flavors. The gentleman working the front desk was super friendly and just helpful in general. It's a very casual atmosphere and more of a spot where you pick up your food to-go although they did have some outdoor tables available for dining. Also - prices are great for the quality of the food. Highly recommend.

The Melrose Wrap at California Chicken Cafe is delicious. The chicken is tender. The avocado, mild white cheddar, greens, tomatoes, and the Italian dressing on the side ties everything together. It's a well-balanced wrap that feels hearty without being too heavy.

Dead gnat IN my Caesar Wrap

I hate to leave a review like this because this place is a staple for our family. But this is gross and unacceptable... gnat inside my wrap! Food is always so great but I am disgusted and won't be able to eat here anymore.

I have been eating at California Chicken Cafe whenever I am near LA area after a return back to LAX or near downtown before a game and forget to post how much we love this place. Excellent rotisserie chicken tender tasty with the side of broccoli pasta and mash with gravy hits the spot! I wish they had these in OC as this would be my go to on dinner nights for something quick yet homemade tasting.

It was my first time trying wraps from Calif Chicken Cafe and I am impressed! I tried their Melrose wrap recently which I heard is one of the most popular. I instantly could tell why this is such a beloved wrap. It's huge in both size and flavor. It's packed with chicken, avocado, white cheddar cheese, greens, onions and tomatoes. It's smothered with mayo inside but it is also accompanied with Italian dressing. With its large size, the wrap easily was enough for two meals! I was full after just eating half. I was definitely happy and content. Flavor-wise everything on point. I loved the tender chicken plus fresh greens and avocado. Calif Chicken Cafe makes some awesome wraps and I can't wait to try their other wraps soon!

So glad more and more CCCs are opening South of LA. Used to frequent them in West LA, and now there's one closer to me. Randomly driving around El Segundo when we found this CCC location. Easy parking in a nice clean plaza with multiple food options. While there's outside seating, this location feels more like it's intended to be a to-go, quick pick up option. Everything, except the kitchen is basically done outside. Workers take your orders outside and will bring it to you when ready. The food quality is still very good compared to other CCC locations. It's fresh, healthy, and an excellent option any time of day. Our favorite go-to item is the Chinese chicken salad, dressing on the side. They're dressing isn't your typical "Asian" dressing. It's a mix of sweet, nutty, and fresh. Try it for yourself, you won't regret it. Half chicken or all dark meat is great if you just wanted chicken. Juicy and flavorful chicken. The skin can be very salty sometimes, but good with the chicken meat The wraps are good as well, Caesar, Chinese chicken. All are good options. For sides, my two favorites are the pasta salad and the potatoes. The potatoes are well seasoned, and the pasta salad is my "cheat" dish. Pasta, chicken, green onions, tossed in thousand island dressing. Yum! Glad there's one somewhat closer to me now without having to drive up to LA.

    CCC to go

The Baseline: For California Chicken Cafe the chicken must be cooked well, taste awesome, the side of roasted potatoes must be savory, the additional items must be fresh, and the service must stand up to expectations. Food: The food at CCC is good. Got the vegetable soup which is tasty. Also the Chinese Chicken salad with dressing on the side. I had to come back to pick up the dressing which was not included in my food order. Service: I came and got my dressing that was left off my order. Travis came out and made it right. Atmosphere: They have tables and chairs out front now.

I wanted to give 3.5 stars, but not possible. I really love my Chinese Chicken Salad from this place. Always fresh. The girls that run out my order are always so great (I tip them $5 every time)! But...today and two orders ago, I did not get my extra pasta and two orders ago I didn't get my extra white meat chicken. I spilt the salads into two and found that works well when I get my salad. Ask of the Kitchen: PLEASE check the order you are filling. I became lax because I trusted things were right so my fault there. However, when it's on the receipt, someone should be double checking. I'm out $6.00 + tax. :(

I first found out about Calif Chicken Cafe during my college days. There was a location not far from my University. Shout out to all the Matadors!!! Let's jump right into review. What did I have - Kids meal - $6 - 2 chicken legs, cookie or drink of your choice - 10/10, chicken is juicy and flavorful Roasted potatoes -$3.50 - Red potatoes and sweet potatoes sautéed w/ onions & spices. (vegan) - 10/10 Poppi Strawberry Lime soda - $3 I have frequent Calif Chicken Cafe in Northridge, Westwood, & now El Segundo. Since COVID, I saw a transition to pick-up only. I am happy the El Segundo location offers outdoor seating. There are 3 online order pick-up parking spots at the entrance #nice. This location is in a busy food/shopping mall area in El Segundo. You can place an order online via their website or in-person. Both are efficient. Curbside pick-up is fast and friendly. Food is made to order. Delicious! Reasonably price. Friendly service. Nothing negative to report here. I'll be back again.

My friend recommended this place and I decided to go with the California Chicken Salad. I was pleasantly surprised when my friend showed up with this big boy in hand! California Chicken Salad 5/5: The portions are huge and it was a great price. There was a very nice balance of everything; filling and healthy! Sauces were plentiful and brought harmony to the entire salad. Would 100% come back for this!

The loaded bagel was another favorite: Gluten Free Everything Bagel with Mort & Betty's Lemon & Scallion Cashew Cream Cheese, Organic Tomatoes, Red Onions, Capers, Dill. I honestly stopped by mainly to try the café since I was in the area, and I'm so glad I did. Since I love exploring and café hopping, this place was a really nice find. From the taste of the food, it's easy to tell they take their time preparing everything, and it truly shows. I tried the Bang Bang lentil bowl, which was flavorful and very nourishing, and for juice I ordered the Solar Citrus, which was absolutely refreshing. The food felt organic and fresh, with a good variety of vegan options. Kennedy and Meredith were great with service, warm, attentive, and made the experience even better. The overall atmosphere was calm and not chaotic at all. Before coming, I also confirmed whether the café was open to the public, and it is. You don't need to be a member to enjoy it. The café area is perfect for bringing a laptop or book without distractions. I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back.

My order: * The Farm Club: You really can't go wrong with this one. The pickled red onions and herb aioli give it such a nice tang compared to a standard club sandwich. The turkey was high-quality and the bread held up perfectly. * Spicy Curried Couscous: I had to grab a side of their signature couscous, and it didn't disappoint. It has that signature roasted cauliflower and just the right amount of spice to balance out the sandwich. It's easily one of the best sides on their menu. The highlight of this visit was definitely sitting outside (inside is ok, a bit noisy and crowded). The patio area is clean, spacious, and perfect for catching some sun while you eat but most tables are shaded by umbrellas. Even though it's right off PCH, it's a great spot to relax and enjoy the El Segundo breeze. A couple Tips: * Parking: The plaza can get a little tight during the peak lunch hour, so give yourself a few extra minutes or try to arrive just before the 12:00 PM rush. * Ordering: If you're in a hurry, their mobile pickup is always super seamless at this location and can help you get in and out or you can take your food and eat in the park like courtyard area. I'll definitely be back next time I'm craving a solid sandwich and some fresh air!

The last time we were here, it was during a busy lunch and both the service and the food were below par. But tonight, it wasn't as busy and our server, Geovani, was excellent. First, we were quickly greeted and asked to select our table (since they were not that busy). Since there was only two of us, we picked a table for two. But, after we decided that we would split an appetizer and an entree, the table for two became way to small way too quickly. Geovani jumped right on this, suggesting we move to a larger table. He helped us move everything over and, voila, we were able to stretch out and relax and enjoy our meal. We started with the pear and blue cheese salad and, wow, we could have just ordered this, split it, and we would have been full. Very flavorful, generous portion that is definitely big enough to share. We also ordered the Sausage & Leek Fettuccine and I was definitely not thinking. Totally forgetting that leeks are part of the onion family (and I have a sensativity to onions). Once the dish arrive, I immediately noticed the similarity and was slowly trying to pick them away from my portion. Once again, Geovani came to our rescue. He asked how everything was and I told him I made a mistake (noted above). He quickly volunteered to have the kitchen make it again without the leeks. I asked, "Are you sure?", and he immediately said yes and removed the dish. Very shortly after, he returned with the "onion sterile" dish and it was wonderful. Both of us were so full you could have rolled us out the door. Good thing the parking garage is so close so we could just hop in our car and go home. Time to loosen the belt! ;) In a week where we have had some personal issues, it was so nice to be treated so well and received such a great tasting meal. Hope you get the time to stop in and I hope you get Giovani to answer all your questions and issues. Enjoy!!!

My husband had the Rob Gentile, an elevated Old Fashioned, and was thoroughly impressed. Service was great, and the food was top-notch. Let's dive in! Meatballs with beef, pork, ricotta, potato purée, tomato sauce, Grana Padano, and arugula--WOW. Cheesy, saucy perfection. Beef Tartare with tonnato, shallot, marjoram, crispy potato, and toast. Delicious and a generous portion. I ordered Coop's Pork Shank with Lambrusco-mustard glaze, aromatic jus, and potato purée. Tender, flavorful, and that broth was incredible. It paired perfectly with the broccolini... ...which we didn't order. We spotted the table next to us enjoying it with burrata and immediately added it to our "next time" list. My son ordered the Chicken Parm with capellini. He loved the huge chicken parm portion, which successfully fed his bottomless teenage appetite, but declared the pasta "too eggy." Teenagers are basically unpaid Michelin critics. My husband ordered the Scarpinocc with braised beef cheek, brown butter, sage, and saba. He loved it, but our resident food critic chimed in with, "I don't really taste the beef." Dessert was the cinnamon bread pudding with ice cream and caramel drizzle--absolutely worth saving room for. Everything was delicious, portions were generous, and we left happy (and full enough to feed a small submarine crew). Definitely coming back!

My immediate reaction was that something wasn't right, and it made me wonder whether old or spoiled food was sitting somewhere instead of being thrown out. Looking back, I should have trusted my instincts and walked right back out. The only reason I stayed was because there were other customers eating inside, so I convinced myself, "Maybe it's just me." I ordered a fried chicken sandwich to go. The fries were the best part of the meal, but they were nothing special--about what I'd expect from frozen Costco fries. Even my drink was disappointing. My Dr Pepper had gone completely flat within about 30 minutes. The sandwich itself was awful. The chicken was supposed to be fried, but instead of being crispy it was soggy and limp. The lettuce looked old, with slightly browned edges and no freshness whatsoever. It was one of the worst chicken sandwiches I've ever had. About 30 minutes after eating, I developed severe diarrhea and spent the rest of the afternoon running to the bathroom seven times. While I can't say with certainty what caused it, the timing made me strongly suspect the meal. Between the terrible smell when I entered, the disappointing food quality, and what happened afterward, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I won't be giving Chicken Confidential another chance. If I could leave -5 stars, I absolutely would.
