So glad we found this gem. They have a parking lot in the back, but lots of street parking. They have a bar and medium sized indoor seating area, but when you walk to the back you discover a HUGE covered outdoor seating area with tons of heat lamps. Service was great- everyone was nice, attentive, and helpful! We ordered a few different things to try: *Pina Agua Fresca- to die for! The only thing I'll say I didn't like was how loud the music was-- I go to a lot of Mexican spots so I don't really care about a loud atmosphere but this place seated us near the speakers lol and I couldn't hear much of what my friend was saying. As soon were arrived, we greeted by Gerry. He was extra helpful and welcoming. We were concerned about where we parked our car so we asked him if it's ok to park on the alley to the right of the restaurant and immediately he told us there's plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant safe to park. While my husband park our car, Gerry walked my children and me and asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. We didn't realized there's so many tables outside (back of restaurant ). We chose to sit outside since there's live music playing inside that's loud. It was very specious in the back and family friendly. We see a lot of children along with other families in nice hot day. My brother-in-law recommended we check out this place for the ceviche and the Sushi Sinaloense. I checked out the extensive menu and called to place my order for takeout. The man on the phone spoke clearly and efficiently took my order. I ordered the Tostada de Camaron, Tostada de Mango, & El Cocono. My SO ordered the Camarones a la Diabla. The Tostada de Mango already comes with cooked shrimp, so I asked for cooked shrimp in the Tostada de Camaron. You can have it cooked or cooked in lemon. He took my name and number and told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. We arrived and looked for street parking since we did not find a parking lot for the business. It was really busy and lively inside. There was loud music and employees moving in every direction. I noticed how beautiful the bar section looked and all the cool things on the wall. It is a complete vibe being in there. All the employees were friendly and helpful. The cashier took my name grabbed my order and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I asked if they had agua frescas and added an agua de pina. I paid for my order and I was on my way. The Camaron and Mango ceviche was fresh, and the flavor delivers on that. The Tostada de Camaron had the right amount of spice. There was plenty of tostadas to go with the ceviche orders. The Camarones a la Diabla have a subtle spicy taste at the beginning but at the end its really spicy. I ate one and did not taste or feel any spice. A minute or two later I tasted it and felt it! I really enjoyed the progression of this spice on the shrimp. El Cocono is Sushi Sinaloense style (Mexican twist) and has shrimp, avocado, cucumber, mango, surimi, coconut, and chipotle sauce. These flavors were incredible all in one bite! The agua de pina was refreshing and not super sweet. It complemented the entire meal perfectly. I enjoyed the whole spread we ordered. Having read that it can get crowded on the weekend, we came as a small group of four on a weekday in hopes that we wouldn't have to wait long before ordering or eating. A couple of us arrived first last Tuesday and we seemed to be the first people dining in. Service then was predictably quick. Their agua fresca cup sizes are very generous. I definitely feel that they were worth their price. The stars of the show of course are the mariscos. Their mango ceviche was great. I've been here multiple times and the food usually makes up for the lack of friendliness from the servers but today was by far the worst. After being seated we sat there for 30 minuets waiting for quite literally anyone to help us and no one did. When my boyfriend walked up to pay for the one beer we were able to even order the guy who rang us up (our server) didn't even bother to apologize. This isn't the first bad experience I have had there but it's definitely the last. Stopped in on a Thursday evening after our arrival of San Jose airport. Delicious and unique Mexican sushi!! It's a 10+ minute ride from the airport in to a very Mexican/ethnic neighborhood. Parking is available in the back - use it! Staff in the restaurant were friendly. We tried the Sangria Preparada and a frozen mango drink - both wonderful and laden with tajin. While I haven't dined in at El Camaron De Sinaloa, yesterday was my second time ordering from them (through Uber Eats). The first time, my friends and I all got Chicken Quesadillas, which were fantastic - huge potion size, so cheesy, so tasty. We also ordered the Guacamole with Chips and Salsa, which was less impressive - there was just very little Guacamole compared to the heap of chips. This time around, my roommate and I both chose the Tacos Clasicos with Chicken and the Crazy Fries to share. The tacos were decent but could've been more flavorful, and I regretted not ordering the Birria instead. We were more excited about the Crazy Fries, considering the massive serving and colorful sauces. While we enjoyed these, I've definitely had better Carne Asada fries in San Jose and we both wished the fries were thinner/crispier. Maybe because I was expecting the dish I ordered to be made with Clamato, this didn't have that tomato flavor I was craving so it didn't hit the spot but the shrimp and oysters were sweet! So def tasted fresh! The liquid though didn't have that much flavor, but they half salt and hot sauce on the table to season it to your liking, which I appreciated. -You can always add seasoning to your food but you definitely can't enjoy your dish if it's too salty! The Vampiro was good! I suggest to eat this right away bc the tostasa got soggy but I had tostadas that came with my Campechada so I was able to save the dish. TLDR; I see why this place has good reviews, but I had a really bad experience. I really wanted to like this place and I was super excited to eat here but was extremely disappointed with everything. This place has so many good reviews and I can see why because the food isn't bad, but I just had a terrible experience. I asked for 2 shrimp chorriada and an asada vampiro with no beans. After a long wait (about 15-20 minutes) they finally brought out my food. To my surprise, there was beans in it. I told the waiter and she only took the 2 chorriada back leaving me the vampiro with beans that I couldn't eat. Then she came back with 2 CHICKEN chorriada instead of shrimp. That isn't what I ordered... I didn't want to make the server bring the food back to the kitchen AGAIN because I already feel bad about sending it back once. I think what would help is if the music wasn't so loud to the point where my server couldn't hear me. If you like having damaged eardrums and yelling at eachother, this is the place to go.
