Found this new spot on yelp and said why not give it a try. I have been waiting for a place like this to open up near by. Great looking place to start off with plenty of parking available in the back. The restaurant itself was super clean and spacious. We got a table with a huge queen chair which we took a bunch of selfies in. The service was great and the food amazing! We had the " torre de mariscos " enough for probably 3 people And also the "mix molcajete" also big enough for 3! Prices were super reasonable specially for the amount of food and quality of food. They make everything on the spot super fresh and delicious. I'll be back for sure! read more

Service is very good and This place has very good mexican style seafood. I love that it is very clean and doesn't stink like your typical seafood taqueria spot.The chavelas are delicious ! I have ordered food from this place before but tonight wasn't good at all. I ordered 3 orders of their 7 mares and the soup was too salty and not fresh. It tasted like it has been reheated more than 2 times. My family wasn't able to enjoy their dinner at all because elf the salary ness and how the souped taste. We also ordered their flautas but it only come with two tacos. We ordered their regular taco as and the tortillas were soggy so the taco came apart after trying to take the first bite. I had their camarones al mojo de ajo which I did not like how the shrimp tasted. The seasonings and the shrimp in general was too salty and not enjoyable. Disappointed with this last ordered. I wouldn't recommend this place. Also the person who took my ordered was not professional at all and she was super slow to take my order. read more

Decided to come here on a lunch with coworkers. There was a large group of us and we walked in to an empty restaurant which would out for us because it was like we had the place to ourselves. We had a lot of dishes going around the table but my favorites were the empanadas and tacos. They even offered Mexican style sushi rolls, which we ordered but I did not get a chance to try. Oh my holy God is this place delish! I was in the mood for some sort of chamoy drink or a Michelada so yelped a nearby spot and went here with my sis. The restaurant is located in a largely Hispanic neighborhood with alot of other Mexican restaurants and stores nearby however yelp had rated this particular place highly so that's where we decided to go. The restaurant is large and was packed with people cheering on a soccer game when we arrived. Everyone was speaking Spanish and the mood was relaxed and welcoming yet festive and jovial at the same time. We had 3 waitresses work with us and all of them only spoke Spanish and didn't even attempt to speak English however they were SO patient and friendly that ordering was still a very positive experience for me. I felt like I was on vacation in Mexico and was feeling welcomed and relaxed despite the language barrier. In fact, the language barrier only added to the wonderful ambiance. The menu had plenty of pictures so I knew what I was ordering. It also helped that I had my sis with me who had lived in Mexico before and spoke Spanish as a result (although she admitted not having used it for years) so I was able to get my questions easily answered. I think I would have still enjoyed myself even without my sister there to translate. Seriously, the wait staff were all so friendly, smiley, and beautiful that it would be hard not to enjoy yourself there. The food was delicious. The 5 shrimp in my $13 Michelada were ginormous. The tacos were freaking delicious. My sister had Mexican sushi while there and loved it. I wasn't into the Mexican sushi since I have a preference for uncooked or seared fresh fish and almost all the Sushi was cooked and even fried but my sister LOVED the sushi and said it was her favorite meal while visiting me. Portions were huge for the price (for example, one Mexican sushi serving was equivalent to more than 2 sushi servings elsewhere) and the food and service was outstanding. I plan on coming back and will maybe try to use this place as an opportunity to learn Spanish. Anyways, I just simply adored it here and recommend that others try it too. read more

Please pay more attention next time, its not a great experience when everyone who's lactose intolerant has to scrape off the mayo and creme sauces before they eat their tacos. read more

MY NEW FAVORITE MEXICAN RESTAURANT Happened to be close by after checking out a bike shop. Didn't end up buying my bike there, but that fateful journey brings you this review. The shrimp was bomb and haven't seen the dish offered elsewhere. The shells were fairly crispy and edible, and the seasoning was great. I asked the waitress what type of fish was in the fish tacos .. none of the waitresses could give me an answer until finally one let me know it was tilapia. Grabbed some to-go's on my dinner break. Cute hole in the wall with the feel of Mexico ...had Connecting room with a bar and pool table, music, tv's. It was quite busy and people waiting outside to be seated. I wanted the different kinds of Mexican sushi, but they ran out; so I ordered I think grilled shrimp that had really good flavors, shrimp cocktail and something else lol. Everything was delicious! 1st time here, there was only one other table that had clients. I waited over 20 mins, no one greeted us, or offered to take our drink order. Even after the server and bartenderS seen me make eye contact, they seemed clueless or plainly did not care. I had to get up and go up to them to ask them to help us out, even then. Coming from a, "five star place that specializes in seafood", they dropped a bomb on this one. So bland, flavorless, plain and worse of all, the shrimp was not cleaned out! So gross! When we were seated we were surrounded by families, couples, you name it they were there. The music was thumping so loud I couldn't hear myself think. But all I needed to do was eat because that's what I was there to do. My favorite was the shrimp and mango ceviche tostada. The shrimp were fresh and the flavor just perfect. My friend an I went here for a quick lunch. Reviews looked good and we always love an authentic Mexican restaurant. We ordered a cheese burger and 4 tacos. It took them probably an hour for the food. The burger was dry and burnt! They didn't bring utensil. They didn't come check on us once! The octopus taco was so greasy and deep fried couldn't taste the octopus. Fish taco was bland! I absolutely loved the tacos al governador they were so flavorful and the vampiros de chorizo are great as well. Their drinks suck, first of all who in the world puts a non alcoholic drink on the alcoholic beverages??? I ordered a sangria thinking it was a sangria and instead all I got was a (sangria señorial) a soda dressed up like it was an alcoholic drink . I then ordered a chavela and to my surprise I got a huge mug topped with ice and so much salt on the rim that I had to literally remove it slowly in chunks so I can drink it and when I drank it I was even more grossed out of how much bitter lime it had that it was not good at all. Another thing that was not good was how uncoordinated the waitresses were. I'll go back for the tacos al governador but nothing else... My mom raved about this place for a couple of weeks untill i finally had the chance to go and let me tell you, it is so hard to find a seafood place that is actually authentic. The name in itself says it EL CAMARON SINALOENSE, they are truly an authentic seafood place, as I sit there and I eat my ceviche I feel like I'm sitting by the beach in mazatlan the most beautiful place i have ever seen. Needless to say I have found my seafood place, also my recovery place for those terrible hangovers (may I suggest the torre it will bring up back to life, if you don't mind the spicy). On another note the service is amazing the owner is waiting tables and taking orders from time to time super humble man and a gentleman. Wow! Very good first impression and food! So I came here on a rainy Friday evening to try a different place to eat my favorite genre of food which is seafood and they did not disappoint. First thing that happened once I walked in was a greeting from the owner asking where I would like to sit, I chose the bar. The waitress answered all my questions and suggested a few things since it was my first time so I got 2 vampiras of asada which are like sopes and a tostada mixta. Since I don't drink anymore the owner suggested I try their fresh waters so I got the cucumber and lemon water which was delicious !!!! The food was very good, the vampires were a bit hard to cut through with their utensils but they were tasty! I would definitely come back to this place because they have good customer service and the owner knows how to suggest the right things ! I was very excited to try this restaurant because of their great reviews but I was not impressed. My bf and I stopped here for lunch on a weekday so it wasn't too busy. We ordered two micheladas, shrimp ceviche, jalapeño sushi, carne asada, shrimp, and fish tacos. My main concerns were one of the waitresses was rude and not wearing a mask. The other waitress, who attended us since we were abandoned by our initial waitress, was very kind but also not wearing a mask. This place IS in San Jose just for reference. There are two locations now. The food here is awesome and the portions are large. I had the Mexican sushi and it was definitely enough to split. Which I obviously didn't and was forcing myself to finish (since I'm not a fan of leftovers), unsuccessfully. The restaurant was clean and there was plenty of seating. Knocked off one star because we asked for chips and salsa (twice), which never came and was a little disappointing considering there weren't many people in the restaurant. There was only one waitress and once we had our food she practically left us unattended. Which wasn't a big deal until we had to go get our own bill from the counter.... I have been to Mexican seafood places before, but this is the first Mexican seafood and sushi place I have been to. The sushi was good and so was the seafood. For seafood we had a boiled shrimp plate with a slightly spicy sauce along with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. The sushi we ordered contained shrimp, avocado, cucumber, mango, coconut, and chipotle sauce. We also order guacamole and chips. Everything was great and the prices were not bad. Considering the portion size, it was a good value. Next time we will probably skip the guacamole. The guacamole was great, but it was just too much food for the two of us. The menu is primarily in Spanish, but it also includes English translations. Most of the staff only speak Spanish, but between their limited English and us pointing to things on the menu, we were fine. The owners and manager speak fluent English and they are continuously floating around checking on everyone. The place is not large, so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table, but they handle the flow well. On some nights they have Mariachi, on other nights they have banda music. On the Sunday we were there, they have banda. It was lively, noisy, and fun. We will definitely be back. read more

Update: 2nd visit was just as perfect as the first. Excellent food, clean restaurant, fun environment and friendly owners! My daughter and I tried this place a few weeks ago. We wanted to find a different mariscos spot so we gave this place a try. It was the best mariscos either one of us have ever had. The fish and shrimp were fresh, clean and of good quality. The staff was friendly and attentive. Before we left, the owner came by our table and asked how things were and engaged in conversation when we asked about the business since it's relatively new to the area. Their original spot is in Redwood City. I'm happy they decided to open a place in San Jose. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for quality mariscos. read more
