Great food, everything was tasty and to our liking. Got a couple dishes and my friends said everything was on point. I personally got the mackarel avocado toast and it was VERY filling. I was expecting a much smaller item! Great brunch/lunch spot that you should definitely check out! Also ambience inside is great.

I visited Camino Alto and really liked the concept at first order at the counter, then find your own table. The patio is pet-friendly, which is a big plus. However, the experience quickly became frustrating. After sitting down, we had to get up and walk to the front for water. Then again for sugar when we ordered coffee. Having to repeatedly go back and forth for basic things takes away from the experience. The food is okay ,interesting flavors, but nothing memorable. If customers are expected to self-serve water, utensils, napkins, and more, it makes you question why a tip is being charged. A simple fix would be adding a service station in the patio. Overall, good concept, but the execution needs improvement.

This restaurant is such a lovely neighborhood spot! Perfect for date nights or special occasions. My partner and I came here on a Thursday around 6:45pm and the tables were roughly half full when we arrived. We ordered the Caesar salad with pomegranate seeds and pink peppercorn, as well as the wood-roasted pork belly with squash mole to start, and split the marinated flank steak. The dishes were very vegetable heavy, which we loved, since it didn't leave us feeling heavy at the end of the meal. The pork belly was our favorite dish, as it was so incredibly tender and packed with flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly and we really enjoyed the pepitas seeds mixed in. In retrospect, I think we definitely should have ordered the glassy potato, which we were advised was a menu standout, but we didn't listen!! Everything was delicious though, I just will definitely have to come back to try this dish! I do wish their outdoor patio was better heated, I was super cold throughout the meal and had to use my partner's coat to cover my legs. I also wish they gave people the option to book covered patio vs. indoor as I definitely would have preferred to sit inside the main part of the restaurant. Still recommend though!

this place is such a blessing on a night when you finally have some free time and you're looking for ZERO compromise on taste, vibes, service, neighborhood, and your heaLTH, even. The salmon was probably the best I've ever ordered at a restaurant. Ceviche was also so fresh - did not let us down. The pork was a solid one, good to get alongside different seafood dishes. Each dish came with sides that complimented the main so well and were also unique enough to be worth getting that main for. WILL BE BACK for all of these dishes and more

Camino Alto had been on my radar for a while. The concept, all GF + new menu every day, sounded super interesting. I was finally able to check it out with a friend, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! So delicious, fresh, and, all-in-all, a gorgeous experience. First, just walking in, this place is stunning. I was in love with the light and bright aesthetic and the interesting touches like the concrete floor and incredible dahlias. The handwritten menu was so fun as well. As much as the interior was beautiful, the food stole the show. Here's everything we ordered (mind you, I am developing cravings as I recall this experience): Roasted Japanese Sweet Potato w/ Romesco and Pepitas ($20): our waiter said that this is their most popular item. I SEE WHY. SO GOOD!!!!!!!! I mean, you're NEVER going to go wrong with Japanese sweet potato, it's just not really possible. Roasted so beautifully. Texture and flavor, muah. And the romesco. Loooveee a romesco, and they did it so well here. So much ~zest~. And the pepitas added a lovely crunch. For the portion you get and the amazing flavors, I think $20 is a good price for SF. Definitely order this if this is available!! Glassy Potato w/ Lemon Aioli and Jimmy Nardello Peppers ($20): yes, more potatoes. And also SO GOOD!!!! I mean, the crunch on the potatoes, the salt levels, the aioli, and those peppers?!? It was my first time having Jimmy Nardello peppers, and they were absolutely luscious! Would definitely recommend this one. Tuna Ceviche w/ Tallow Chips ($25): this was lovely, but compared to the other starters, I can't say it wows as much. Still good, don't get me wrong! I loved the flavor of the ceviche and the small dice of the fish and avocado. The tallow chips were interesting, I love the concept, but I do wish they were crispier. Rockfish w/ Crispy Rice ($38): our waiter said that this was their most popular main, and I do think it was good, but I would have loved just a little more. For the pros, the fish was cooked beautifully, the sauce was gorgeous and silky, the toasted almonds were fantastic, and the crispy rice was toasty and so fun. So, a lot of pros. Personally, I would have loved a larger portion and/or the addition of another carb or starchier vegetable, just to make things more filling given the price. Overall, I had a really great experience at Camino Alto, and I look forward to coming back, especially with that rotating menu! If you go, which I recommend you do, don't skip out on the potato-based dishes.

I thought that Camino Alto was quite tasty! I feel like the quality of salmon that I ordered was very nice. I also feel like the meal was unique, instead of plating my salmon on a bed of rice, it was on crunchy like.. air fried rice (there's definitely a word for this that I forgot lol). I thought the drink was alright, I got the Matcha latte. Maybe mix the matcha a bit more before serving idk? But I think what made the experience at Camino Alto really special was the ambience. They have a really beautiful outside porch area, which we sat with our friend's dogs. The sunlight was so pretty outside, and I feel like the noise level was perfect. Enough to conceal your own conversation, but not super loud enough to prevent you from hearing what others were saying. Granted it wasn't too busy, so we didn't even have to wait. I will say that the price was a bit steep for the proportions of the meal. I wish I would have gotten a bit more for the price that we paid. And I will also say I had a bite of the mole and it tasted a bit different than what I thought mole would taste like. I think if I wanted an appetizer and ambience, I would come back though!

Came here for dinner with a couple friends and thought the interior ambiance was lovely, however we were seated in the outdoor patio in the back. We ordered a ceviche and a few main entrees to share. Nothing really stood out besides the coconut salsa on the rockfish. The main appeal of the restaurant seems to be the rotating menu with locally sourced ingredients. All in all, it was a decent meal for catching up with friends at the typical SF dinner price point, maybe slightly more.

Their menu is constantly changing -- true Californian farm to table cuisine. The first time I was here I was not wowed but this second time I loved all the dishes we tried. First, there was a very crisp photo and Jimmy nardello proper. The main proteins were all cooked to the perfect temperature and great seasonings. I particularly loved the ribeye and salmon with crispy quinoa.

Ordered lunch from the weekend daytime menu over the weekend and we had a pleasant experience here. The open entrance and the wooden tables and seats created a bright, warm, and more welcoming environment. The food tasted clean and healthy. The ingredients were not too salty and not overly seasoned, therefore I could distinguish and enjoy each ingredients and thoroughly evaluate the taste. As for the klingeman farm pork belly, the pork was so tough and hard to chew, it hindered the experience, unless it would have been 5 stars review for me.

Came here to use my Amex credits. The restaurant is very cozy and a place to be around locals away from all the tourists. The wine selection is pretty good and the servers help you with wine pairing as well. The food here is very filling and everything is local and sustainable. I got the rock fish which was very flavorful and it had some crispy rice. It was a unique blend of favor and texture.

Came here for SF restaurant week! Had the option of ordering off the regular menu or the SF restaurant week menu which is what we did. It was $45 for an app, entree, and dessert. Originally our reservation was for 7:30 but our friend had to last minute change it to 6 and the staff was extremely accommodating to our needs! The ambiance was really nice. The vibe inside is super cute. Although it is a little hard to hear with all the background noise and music, but not terrible. Service was great! Our servers were really attentive. My water was always full and they were always checking in on us. As for the food, I was sadly disappointed. The ceviche and chips were not that good. The chips were so stale, no crunch to it at all. I had to quite literally rip the tortilla chips apart with my hands just to get a bite in. When I would eat it, it would take me an insane amount of bites just to eat it. The presentation of the ceviche too was a bit off putting. What surprises me is that this is supposed to be $25! Not worth the actual price. The pork shoulder was just okay. I felt like it was bland and missing more flavor. Once again, the presentation was eh. I also believe this is supposed to be $38 which to me is insane. Finally dessert, it was a chocolate mousse. First bite was good but after eating more it was getting extremely sweet. Overall, ambiance and service is great! However, the food is overpriced, extremely bland, and lacks presentation.

Great local neighborhood spot with a focus on fresh, high quality, seasonal ingredients and a rotating menu. I love the decor and the staff are all super friendly. They are only open for brunch on weekdays. My favorites are the ceviche and the plum party appetizer. The dinner usually has a. Vegetarian option, fish, chicken, and steak option so there is something for everyone. I love the simplified menu instead of places with 10 pages.

This restaurant is a good spot for a weekday dinner. The back area that we sat in wasn't crowded or loud, and the pace of service was good. My friends and I agreed that the Japanese sweet potato was the best dish we tried (not pictured). They also really enjoyed their entrees, but I was a bit disappointed with the rockfish and would not recommend it unless you really like crispy rice. Of the two desserts -- one was a rhubarb crumble and the other was a something like a chocolate mousse -- we preferred the chocolate dessert.

We got there pretty early, around 9ish and waited about 15 mins to order and another 10ish for our name to be called. They usually sell out of the two better ones early on. We shared the chile verde. I've had the short rib before. Both early bird favorites that sell out. Both are EXCELLENT. The perfect size burrito. Equally distributed ingredients throughout the burrito so every bite is deliciously filled. No mouthfuls of just tortilla. The sauce is a must. It gives the extra little kick you're hoping for. You order outside so the vibes are whatever the streets are giving you that day but the one man show at the door is funny and patient. He didn't seemed rushed or flustered. When people said they found one of the best breakfast burritos at Bodega I first thought they must not be from San Francisco and they must be somewhere in Eastern United States where they call any corner store a Bodega. Then I was thinking they were referring to Bodega the Vietnamese restaurant in SF. I then thought it couldn't be the Hummus Bodega on Geary boulevard or Coffee Bodega in the Marina. I then thought the most of these best breakfast burritos are in the Mission District. I finally got to find out it's a bar called Bodega North Beach which sells breakfast burritos only on Saturday mornings. On a Fall stroll on a sunny morning I landed at the North Beach a pickle ball throw away from Washington Square Park and lots of restaurants with Angel hair pasta. There was no inside in the morning because it's all to go orders. I decided to try their chorizo and sausage breakfast burritos. The sausage breakfast sausage with avocado ,eggs, and a bit flakey potatoes like some in SF. The chorizo breakfast burrito was savory but a bit tangier and the sauce enhanced the burrito flavor. It's one of the top breakfast burrito in SF but it's a worthy contender and easily a top ten in the city. Wish it was more cheesy like some in SF. San Francisco is a city is small in size but when it comes to restaurants it packs a punch that's "mega "there is always good food from Chestnut street to Van Ness to Irving and "Noriega" which is a block away from a street called " Ortega" but you won't find this salsa in a jar because their salsa is made in house at a bar which sells good breakfast burritos on the avenue of Columbus called "Bodega" Bodega North Beach is located a few blocks where Bruce Lee ( RIP) was born who also played on TV the character "Kato " if you go to North Beach in SF you will find dozens of restaurants that offer Angel hair and fettuccine "Alfredo"the breakfast burrito at Bodega has a bit of egg ,avocado, and "potato" and a hint of "tomato "

My two main gripes lay with the ambience of the place - if you don't get a table the bar seating is quite squished, and the fact that after dropping $170 on two bottles of wine we were quickly escorted out the moment we were finished to make room for potential customers. I totally understand doing this if it was a packed house, but there wasn't a single person waiting, left a sour taste in my mouth and feel like if you are spending a pretty penny on service you should be able to enjoy the establishment a little bit after you have finished your drinks.
