I recently purchased a small camping trailer from Camping World and have nothing but good things to say about them. First off, our sales person, Jerry Lopez was very professional, easy to work with and helped us get a great deal. If you are looking to get a trailer or RV he is your guy. He was knowledgeable, honest, straightforward and just a nice person. The rest of the purchase went well, and the service and parts department went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Both Joey and Nate really helped us when we had an issue with our tow vehicle, plus Leigha in parts was super helpful as well. Honestly, I was surprised that a big nationwide company treated us so well for a sale of a little trailer. So I look forward to working with them again. "Don't Buy an RV here" I went to Camping World with my friend to buy an RV. They sold her an RV with so many problems and couldn't even produce the inspection they said is completed before the resell any RV. It was our fault for trusting this place and not doing our home work. We thought we were in good hands. Not only this the told us, "Had we know the issues with the RV, we never would of sold it." Have a 20 year old coach and NO ONE could find me replacement latches for my side storage. Over time the locking mechanism stopped working and the storage would pop open on any road bump etc. Always fun being the guy littering crap all over the highway unknowingly. I went to CW and there was a curiously large man crooning country songs sauntering around in the office who referred me to Jason. I spoke with Jason and he promised to get on it. Within 24 hours he had the latch found and set me up with a few just because. Jason was absolutely phenomenal to work with. It shouldnt be such a shock, but it sometimes is surprising when people do what they say they will these days. I feel like I can easily trust my coach to this place and Jason in the future after the experience I just received. Got a free serenade too which was unexpected, but who doesn't like a little Garth Brooks Karaoke while you wait? read more

Worst service department in the entire world. Brand new 5th wheel has been in 4 times now for multiple issues. Each time I'm told, "we couldn't find an issue." Broken window locks, AC units that don't cool the unit. Ceiling laminate peeling away, batteries not holding a charge, auto stabilizers have never worked and more. Camping World claims, "they aren't part of us." Then they shouldn't be on your freaking lot. They make you feel as if you have no idea what you are reporting and that you've made up all of the issues. As a consumer we pay a lot of money for these units and the extended warranties. Do your freaking job and fix the damn thing when we bring it in. We are now getting an attorney. I'm done with being taken advantage of. Do not buy a unit from Camping World until they hold their warranty partner accountable. read more

We bought a 2021 Thor Motorhome in May 2021. One year later, we still don't have the license plates! Camping World in Anderson, CA has failed to resolve this issue. Their Roseville office got involved and still no resolution. Each time I contact them, no matter how much time has passed since my last contact, they always tell me that the paperwork was "just received" or "just sent" or "just re-sent". A year... a full year later, and it's STILL UNRESOLVED. I will say that their service people (not the ones at the desk) have been good about getting things fixed, although we have an inside contact which has helped. But you need to ask yourself why a brand-new motorhome has needed the refrigerator replaced before it was even used, exterior door handle replaced, exterior trim re-attached (twice) and several minor interior fixes... and we've only used it once!!! There are many choices out there when you're ready to buy an RV... check around before you purchase and definitely read online reviews! I've been looking around, more locally, for a hard sided pop up trailer. Not many used ones in the Northern California area. I searched the camping world website and saw a perfect one, a 2014 Used one within my budget, but in Idaho. I noticed it for a few weeks. Today I called the anderson camping world to simply ask if they ever helped with transporting from one camping world to another. They may if it works financially for them. I provided the stock number and was told I would get a call back with an answer. Roughly 3 hours later, i called back asking if there was a way. I spoke with another man who said that the trailer I wanted was not cost effective for them to transport and that it may cost $2000 to tow it to Anderson. as I questioned more about why and asked clarifying questions, I was more or less accused of wanting them to discount the purchase. He made me feel unworthy because what I wanted was used, under $15000, but was perfect for myself and daughter. I by no means asked for any price reduction, was willing to pay cash, just didn't want to travel to Idaho or pay an extra $2000. Not to say I wasn't willing to pay for the transport, but we never got to a discussion of how we could make this work. not all of us want to pay 25000 plus for something we use 4-5 times a year. Not all of us want to tow a 6000lb rig by ourselves. I just want to make memories for my daughter and camp with my family. I just wanted to be worked with. read more

I bought a brand new 2021 trailer from camping world redding. They towed it to my permanent spot for me and when they set it up there were several small things I found wrong. They knew I had no way to bring it back so they told me to wait a month to make sure there wasn't other stuff wrong then they would bring it back to the shop one time for me to habe the repairs made. I called after a month with a pretty big list of stuff to be fixed. They said the manager would call me back. ( the general manager and sales manager are the ones who brought it to me and set it up. The general manager is the one who told me to call them in a month.) He never called me back. I called again and talked to one of the ladies she told me to wait one more month and call back. I called back and just kept getting put off. I went in and was told the general manager wasn't there but they would have him call me. He never did. I called for months and never got to talk to him. I still have stuff wrong a year and a half later. Camping world lied to me just to get a sale and an amazing trade in that the general manager ened up with. Once they got what they wanted, they completely ghosted me. Terrible service and untruthful when it comes to promises they make. I gave one star because I had to. Horrible experience. "We will get it done by Friday". Here I sit on Sunday and the trailer is still not ready for delivery. The salesman will make the sale and then you get what you get whenever they decide to get it to you. All I wanted was realistic timeline and then to follow it. I've owned several RV's and trailers and have used many dealers over the years but I have NEVER run across one with a Service Dept as pathetic and unprofessional as Camping World of Redding. I purchased my most recent trailer from Camping World and got a good deal and good service from the Sales Dept.and very satisfied at that point. Since that time, I've had to have the trailer in for warranty work twice. On each occasion, it was in the shop for over a month. When questioned as to when I might get my trailer back, I got lots of reasons and excuses for the delays. When I finally got it back the first time they said it was done and ready to go. When I went to pick it, the batteries were dead. The second time I took it in for work, it was there for almost 6 weeks when they said they would need it for about 10 days. Mind you, these were all minor fixes. When they called to say my trailer was ready for pick up, it had two flat tires and dead batteries when I got there. They filled tires and I took it home. Over the next few days both tires continued to lose air. I took it to a tire shop and they found a screw in each tire, both in the sidewalls necessitating replacing both tires. Camping World said they'd make good on the tires by doing a complete detailing of my trailer, inside and out and a roof treatment. I agreed and made an appointment to bring it in early in the day so I could pick it up and the end of the day. I took it to them on the appointment day and THREE days later it was ready. When they called and said it was ready to picked up, I drove down to find it was not ready. When they brought it out, it had not been detailed at all. Not the inside or the outside. Apparently, it sat there for 3 days and was not touched! When they brought it out, it was wet, as if they had just rinsed it off and by the time the paperwork was completed, the water had dried and the trailer was covered in water spots. They did go out and wash the windows but did nothing about the rest of the exterior. The service guy was apologetic over the entire thing but had no real excuse other than to say the service dept was having problems. I took my trailer as it was and ended up cleaning it myself, telling Camping World I'd never return. How this Camping World stays in business is a mystery to me. Their service dept is a disgrace. I hope others will read this and be saved the frustration of dealing with Camping World of Redding. I will be taking my trailer to one of the other Redding RV dealerships from now on. I wish I had have read up on Camping World reviews before buying. Check them out, Redding is not the only dealership with problems, it seems to be company wide. read more

Purchased new 2014 Thor ACE 29.2 from Camping World in Roseville 12-31-2013. Prior to first trip it went to Camping World in Anderson for warranty work. They had it for two weeks, some of the problems were addressed some not. After a two week trip it went back to Camping World on March 8, 2014 for more warranty work. They still have it with no planned completion date. Two promised deliveries have not happened. Contacted Thor two weeks ago, no help or response. Contacted Camping World Corp no help or response. Fortunately we have a lemon law. I've asked them to repurchase this lemon. Let the buyer beware. read more

He went out of his way to call a trailer manufacturer to get a part number for a part that I needed, after I called him and told him what my problem was, and he told me what the part name was. Avoid this place at all costs. We came in for an estimate only on our tent trailer. They took a while and then just did the work without providing me an estimate or ask if I approve of the work. Then they make me pay the full amount of the estimate of work I didn't approve, insisting that when I came in asking for an estimate, the form I signed gave them the ability to do the work (they used all non-OEM part too) without my approval! Total violation of California contract law. DO NOT trust RB (Rick Borden) or any forms they try to force you to sign as they decidedly will charge you whatever they want and not even get you to approve their estimate! read more

If you are looking to get a camper tie down set up installed and you yourself do not know everything that's needed do not go here. You call a place like this assuming they know the right questions to ask you to be sure you don't waste your money and time. Nothing they ordered and had shipped overnight! $500+ shipping mind you was right and had to be returned. $2120+ in costs and I did manage to get my money back without restocking fees but they are keeping $260+ in shipping fees. These parts come from Oregon. We are in California. The other counter person told me there was no reason to overnight them. So why was I told to go that route? I don't know. Beware please. Do your own homework on what you need. Search the Internet and learn all the things you'd expect a big box company to know about. That's their job right? You'd think!!!!!! Just had a new roof installed on on my 2003 Fleetwood Flair. I had no idea of where I was going to have the work done in Redding. After inquiring at several repair facilities I decided that the right place would be Camping World of Redding. My mind was made up right after I met Brian Royce in the service department. He handle my insurance claim quick and efficiently. Got me in sooner than promised and took care of everything. Work was performed expertly by Camping World's technician. My husband and I went to Camping World in Anderson Ca today looking for a few things for our rv. We were greeted nicely by the employees as we entered the store. I went my way he went his. I encountered 2 very nice sales associates who both asked if I needed help. One I said yes to and she led me right to the item. The 2nd associate asked and I said I was fine. I run into my husband who said he asked an associate if she could tell him where the fuses are, she said I don't know are they over there? He responded I don't know that's why I asked. He also picked up a 50 amp surge protector for $130 something. We go to check out and the girl says $200 and something so he checks the receipt and said the surge protector should be $129. The girl shrugs her shoulders sighs and rolled her eyes......I kid you not! Then she said I guess I could get a price check, true story! So I said just take it off we'll order one from Amazon. So she does. My husband being the nice guy he is said thank you, she said ok. I'm furious and said oh my God turned to leave and walked by the ladies at the counter and said you need new help. When we got in the truck he said that was the girl he talked to about the fuses. She cost this store $129. Which isn't a lot but we won't be back read more

I recently had my rv refrigerator replaced at Camping World. I had three fairly bad issues in the one day my rv was there and the frig was replaced. Their sales department may be good, but I would not recommend their service department. I had a horrible experience with the parts and service department at Camping World Redding. Don't go here, they over charge you if you're not on top of it. After waiting 2 weeks for them to order a shroud to cover my air conditioning unit I bugged them until it was ordered and then they never told me it was the wrong shroud until I bugged them some more. After waiting 4 weeks I was told that they thought they had the right shroud in the warehouse and they'd call me right back. I called them again a week later to be told that the shroud was black, my camper van is solid white. I asked for a refund and now I hope to find some where else to go. Robert at Camping World and his repair tecs recently did a great job on our trailer. We had a fairly extensive insurance claim and Robert was stright forward and spent a bunch of time on the phone with insurance making sure that they covered the damage completely. He also made sure that it was ready to roll on our Summer vacation. I didn't purchase the trailer there, but he made us feel valued as a customer. We'll be back! read more

This is the worst experience I have had trying to buy anything. Worst customer service, sales people with attitudes. Was raining when we looked at the toy haulers and the doors were open and water was all over the inside. I asked the sales man if he Could close the doors and his response was "you can if you want"... Well when your looking at $60,000 toy hauler yes I absolutely don't want water all over the inside. These people were so unprofessional it was laughable. After several terrible experiences there we started talking to other people about toy haulers and we all had similar terrible experiences at Camping World. Set up an appointment for an estimate for awning replacement and new flooring. The service manager Brian said that since we were so far out, if I would send him pictures, he could get me an estimate for the awning, and if I agreed he would order it. He had an assistant call me back an hour later with estimate for manual awning. I explained I had wanted an estimate for a power awning as well. He called back 15 minutes later & said he would get back to me on Monday! Well two Monday's later & only a 9 days from my scheduled appointment, 3 phone calls from me and 7 HOURS later...I canceled my appointment! What a joke! Now I'm at least a month behind on having REAL professionals work on my RV! RUN! read more

I know this is long but if you stick with me I'll walk you through my experience and hopefully help you avoid the same pitfalls: After months of research, my SO and I settled on a floorplan that we both loved - this is harder than one would think. There were only two models in 400 miles of our home. One was in Arizona and the other at Camping World in Redding. Camping World's price was higher (even higher than having the Arizona unit shipped here) but I wanted to drive it before buying so we decided to take the 3.5-hour journey to Redding. We worked with Cliff and I explained to him the pricing issue but that it was negligible enough that if I liked the experience, I could purchase from Camping World. He said several times they were family oriented and just wanted to take care of us. I could have gone to CW and drove it and then had the AZ unit shipped closer and bought it for the cheaper price but that felt unethical. When I told Cliff that I had already been approved by a bank for 4.99% he seemed surprised at the rate but said whatever I'm comfortable with, that's fine. So we drive it, like it, and decide to buy it. They explain they can get us 4.49% - I didn't want a lot of hits to my credit but decided it was worth it to get the lower rate. This was my mistake. Fast forward to a little less than a week later when I call Cliff and confirm that we are good to go at the 4.49% - he assures me we are. In fact, his exact words were "yep, it got approved right before I left for my day off." I think it's great and setup a day and time to come pick up the RV (again, a 3.5-hour journey one way). I take the day off of work and we leave in the morning for our 1pm appointment. Now, I assume the first part of that appointment would be the finance portion - you know make sure we're all good before the new owner orientation. Apparently, that is not what CW does. They do the approximately 1-hour orientation first. Danny walked us through everything and honestly that's why this is a two-star review. He was great! Finally, we sit down with finance and the first words were "Okay, so we matched the rate you got on your own from the bank - 4.99%." I tell her that the deal was 4.49% and that we were told it was already approved. She was quite knowledgeable and explained that while I qualified in every other way, the bank required a certain number of trade lines I didn't meet. Now, I'm not an unreasonable person, I know things happen outside of others' control, but the control they did have was to call me and tell me. Or not to tell me it was approved in the first place. They should have called in the morning before I drove for 3.5-hours. They should have told me when I walked in the door. They should have taken any moment except for that one to tell me. It wasn't even "we know we thought we'd get 4.49% but..." So we decide to back out - really out of principle. My favorite part was when they said they could go as low as 4.74%. Wow, this means not only could they not get the rate they told me they got, they added points to the lowest rate I did get approved for. Completely shady... We left. Honestly, I would have taken the 4.74% had they said that in the first place. They wanted us to talk to another manager but they wasted enough of our time. Between gas for the trip, time off work, and the insurance that started at 12:01am that day since I thought I was driving it home, they actually cost us money. Be warned and don't let them add points to your rate, or tell you they'll get you something better. I'm sure someone will post the normal customer service response stating they're sorry that our experience didn't meet their standards. Let me reply to that right now: everyone makes mistakes, how a company handles that mistake is what sets them apart and you already had that opportunity. read more

My wife and I already have a 24' Travel trailer, but have been wanting a new trailer for a while. We decided it was time when the SALE came out on their web page for 0 down, and no payments 'til end of summer. In the current economy, this sounded amazing! Albeit a total lie. We went in and the salesman was amazing, helped us find exactly what we are looking for! We decided to move forward, only to be told they were "not aware" of the 0 down sale even though we brought up their web page. Trying to be reasonable, we committed to $1,000.00 down on the spot. We were told our credit looks great and payments should be around the $200ish/month mark. They said they would call us back in a couple of hours. We had to call them back the next day. Now, they state we would need to pay 20% down and most likely would be paying up to $500.00/month for a trailer that we use once/twice per year. We told them "hard pass". We feel incredibly bait/hooked/switched and would not recommend the "management" at this establishment at all. The salesman "Cliff" was a rockstar. Wasted an entire Saturday. read more

Michael Klingveil in the repair department did endless research to help us solve a couple very complicated issues and kept doing whatever it took to get answers. One star due to a requirement! They had the trailer that was perfect for our large family, while we had filled out all necessary paperwork at the dealership we were asked for income documents! We left the dealership with a promise of holding the trailer for the deal to go through! Over the course of 5 days of more papers needed, faxed multiple times and lost by camping world. The need for documents continued to change daily! After 5 days and 3 lost faxes, informed them I would drive up an hour and 20 minutes with the last requested documents due to the lack of handling financial documents on their part! At 8:45 pm we received a call that the trailer we had wanted was sold! We were then offered a trailer that would not fit our family, then another one $3000 more than the one we wanted with less amenities! When shopping here I would not recommend leaving without your trailer they have absolutely zero loyalty to their customers! read more

We recently visited the Camping world in Redding. We have been dreaming of an RV for a few years, so we want to look every so often. We walked on the lot and were approached by a person that started a "HARD" sell approach, he wanted to know our price point, he wanted to know what we were looking for, we asked if could just look around. He kept on the HARD sell.. I asked him to just let us look. so he walked away. Within minutes another person approached. He stated the other person was very inexperienced and didn't know how to sell people. then He started the "HARD" sell, wanted to know our price point, what were we looking for? He wanted to close the deal in 10 minutes. I asked if we could just look around. The guy said "...it is illegal in the state of California for us to be on the lot with out him!!!" I said "Fine, can we just look?" He said "We have 192 models here, do you just want to waste my time? if you are going to do that, you should just leave." We asked if we could just look, then he proceeded to "YELL" at us!!! VERY RUDE!!!!!! So we left!!!! People want to buy, but people don't want to be sold. If you want the high pressure sale, where the salesman hounds you and demands you buy. Go to Camp World in Redding. Mw, I will buy somewhere else. I will never go there again. read more

We pulled off Hwy 5 with a service issue for our travel trailer. Brian at the service desk and James, a service tech were amazing. They helped us close and lock our trailer front door that was getting unhinged with use. They saved us with their care and thoughtfulness. It's something we will always be grateful for. You know, after living here in this valley for 19 years, we were so excited to visit Camping World for the very first time! We even took our teens...but what a disappointment. All my husband & I wanted to do was get excited about the possibility of a camper, but we quickly found out all the campers were locked up and we'd have to go through a bunch of paperwork and a sales person who basically told us we could only look at 3 campers due to the vehicle we own. What a dream-crusher! By the time we finished, we were certain we didn't want to buy one. It was such a negative experience, if we ever do purchase a camper, it won't be through Camping World. For example, to install a towing receiver for my SUV, honda dealer charge $200-300, they charged $4500~ All devices listed in their website (worst website I ever see) would be 5%-10% higher than other stores! BEWARE of Camp World! We took our BRAND NEW Moterhome to Camp World because the slide outs weren't working. Meanwhile 2 1/2 months later the finally say it's ready. We go to pick it up, scratches all over it, parts missing off of it, like they pulled parts for other Moterhomes! We paid $100,000 for this Moterhome, I feel so bent over by Camp World! We purchased a 2020 RV in September 2019. It has been in the shop for months with warranty work. And to top it off, they did not fix everything we needed. I never get anyone in this camping world that has any knowledge or desire in their job.. I ask for help with a part I need (a door entry for an RV) and their answer is "do you have a part number?" um, that's your job isn't it? But I politely said "no, I don't know how to find that." The parts guy just stood there on his pedestal staring at the computer as if he was looking it up for me but the phone rang, he answered it and ignored me.. Three other guys acted as if I wasn't even standing there! When he hung up he dissapeared into the back and never came out. I am continually disgusted with the lack of customer service or product knowledge and know how of these arrogant jerks.. So much for getting any help there, B&B RV right next door was much more helpful and even took me outside to see what other door entry options I might be able to upgrade to. Very much appreciate and commend the individual service and support of actual sales people at Camping World retail locations, but man, the overall company sucks. ZERO customer service if anything goes wrong. Charged my credit card and then didn't ship ordered goods for over a month. "It's our policy to charge customers' cards upon order." Well, yeah, but then you ship, too! Or you let customers know that items are backordered....and you do not charge for goods not shipped! If you've called Camping World, you've heard that oh-so-sincere (but dated and weird) "If you're not happy, I'm not happy!" message. Good luck with that. I managed to get a "VIP" customer phone number (hey, I'll give it to you now, you too can be VIP: 866-232-8790) from a helpful in-store clerk, but if what I got is VIP, I think it means "vastly indifferent performance." My takeaway: support local RV service and supply businesses. At least you won't have to listen to the "if you're not happy...." etc. read more
