We had a different experience than most the reviews here, but it is interesting to see now as a matter of that we never actually got a deal done with this camping world. We came into this lot shopping still figuring out what we were interested in and then a week later approached them with the model we wanted but it was located at a different camping world a few states over. Greg E. was our salesman and he was incredibly nice & helpful. Working with his manager they were willing to bring in the RV and setup a deal with us. Unfortunately after a nights of sleep we ended up going in another direction and felt bad to not have finalized a deal with these guys. They had our trust. read more

Learned my lesson . We found the trailer that we wanted on line. So we made an appointment with their representative to meet a sales person they recommended. We drove four hours to reach the dealership. When we arrived for our appointment we were informed that was his day off. So another sales person helped us with the purchase. We're coming up on two years now and we still do not have the proper paper work to register it. They sent the sales tax to one state ( The correct state ) and the paper work to another. Traveling coming in for supplies for our trailer and they have used every bit of space to park their trailers. there's no easy way out and it's like maze. Probably one of the worst Camping World parking lots we've ever been in. Took us a half an hour just to try to back our trailer out once pulling in. Just a crap hole. Buyer Beware!!! 1st do not buy their extended warranty for thousands of $$$$. You can get one at Good Sam for a fraction of the price. 2nd they do not honor their warranty of 1 year on a new trailer. We had to return ours after 3 weeks with several major items broken or not working. Brand new trailer and we're told they no longer honor their own dealership warranty. For another $500 they will take a look at it and pick it up in 7 to 10 days. Day 12 and nothing has been touched in their service center. Beside the cost of the trailer, additional $2,500 to do a complete walk through and have it fully ready for pickup, another $500 to look at the side panel coming off the outside of the trailer, broken cables that were installed that way, ac wouldn't work and heater shut down they claim thus 30 day old trailer won't be covered. The worst service ever from the Finance Department to the Service Department to the Management this place is a huge ripoff! read more

We love our rig purchased in Nov. of 2021 but honestly, the service department is an absolute joke. As is the Jayco company. We purchased brand new, spending a small fortune of retirement money, thinking we'd be covered for things we don't have the ability to fix as we are getting older. We used the rig three times, and had a few small issues we thought would be covered by warranty. The service department did not do their due diligence to even present the issues correctly to Jayco which in turn said things were our fault and we were out of luck. The department manager said this is the way things are these days and everyone is getting screwed over. That after having the rig for almost four weeks with no updates or action plan. It took several phone calls just to get an answer. After paying the hours fee for just looking at the trailer (165$ for nothing) we brought it home and ordered some parts. We are sadly disappointed and disheartened with our first experience with this service department and won't be going back. If you are purchasing from these people be aware of serious issues with their service department. The initial purchase experience of our rig wasn't that exceptional either. The salesman didn't know all the particulars of the model and led us to believe there were features in it that we were looking for that were in fact not there which we found out later. When asked several times to make the situation right our phone calls were not returned. We do love the model we bought and overall it meets our needs after making a few modifications. However.... As a truck camper RV in transit across Nevada, I stopped in at the parts department for a few needed small items. Spent close to $100. My small truck camper was also out of water. So I asked the parts counter guy if I could get some while I was there. He said .... "go ask the service department". So I ask the lady at the service desk if I can fill my water tank at their shop. She says .... "We don't have any water!" Excuse me ... you have a "Full Service" department here, how do you folks test water systems on repaired units if you "don't have any water?" I asked if they deliver brand new high dollar Class A rigs without any water on board? She then tells me that they ... "only have water for their in-house techs use." OK, so now I'm walking back to my truck which is parked by the sales lot. I'd intended to look at a few Class A RV's because we are considering a much larger "full time" RV for extended travels. There's 3 sales guys in the lot standing there by my truck. I ask them if they have a place where I can fill my water tank. I've got a Sierra receipt and some parts in my hand, so it's obvious I'm not somebody who just pulled in looking for a total freebie. "No water on our side of the dealership" says one salesman. The salesman next to him goes on to great lengths to tell me how ... "bad the water is in town, you don't want to drink it", and "try getting water at the gas stations". I tell them I've got bottled water for drinking but I'd like to have a few gallons on board for cooking/cleaning/shower. "Nope, we don't have any water here" ... they all agree. I'm astounded at this point. I'm looking at mutiple rows of a mega-multi-million dollar inventory of shiny, spotlessly clean RV's on the lot. They're obviously freshly washed to be that clean. OK, I get it. This dealership is the most un-customer friendly self-serving bunch I've run in to in a long time. IF I can't get a good relationship going with your dealership before I buy a rig from you, it's not very likely that you'll do better afterwards. I'm a capable, qualified buyer. I had my checkbook in my back pocket and could have selected and purchased a rig on the spot. But the overall attitude here so consistently displayed at every department told me that I needed to go someplace else where customer service has real meaning. And so I did. We purchased a 2022 Cougar 5th wheel in December. There was an immediate problem with water pump..due to weather unable to get back to service department..when we could first told March appointment changed to Jan 16th..unacceptable..they were not willing to authorize repairs anywhere else. Extremely poor service department. A basic warranty repair is taking over 2 months. It took them 3 weeks before I could even bring the the camper to show them the problem. Another week to say if they were covering it under warranty, over two weeks to get a part I can get on amazon overnight.....I don't even know when I'll have my camper back. Do yourself a favor and find another RV dealer in the Reno area, there are dozens of them, pick one that's not these people. Heed my warning as we did not heed the warning of others and we're certainly sorry for our choice. As most of the other reviews will tell you, this place has outstanding customer service up front, right up until you drive off the lot with your brand new trailer. That is precisely where they discontinue caring about you or your $40k boat anchor. That's the short story, if you're the TLDR type, you can move on to more entertaining things like snapchat or pokemon. If you're the type that enjoys details, I took the time out of my busy schedule to indulge you below. (Yes, I did) These people were epic salesmen; no pressure, gave us a great deal on our trade in, super friendly, we bought it - hook, line and sinker. When it came time to sign the paperwork, they damn near rolled out red carpet. I thought for sure the finance guy Bryan was going to wet himself. He was a bit nauseating, one of those overtly happy people that just make you want to vomit. However, he was harmless and did a great job explaining what all the paperwork was, son on and so forth. They gave us an awful bottle of wine and even printed our picture on a calendar when we took delivery of the coach. That, was where the honeymoon ended. The day we brought the coach home, the air conditioning didn't work. Called to get it in for service, they're next available appointment is next month. Talk to the service manager, he's at least accommodating enough to have me bring it in immediately. Even though it takes almost a month to "fix" the issue, the air conditioning did indeed work by the time they were done with it. The coach has a "Polar Package" that it literally says on the outside of the trailer "Rated to ZERO degrees". Salesman, whilst selling us the trailer says "Oh yeah, no need to winterize this baby, its ZERO degree rated!" You don't need a crystal ball to know what happened next; the water pump and the toilet pump burst over the winter and once I tried to hook up the water in the spring, water proceed to fill the trailer with water. Quick call to the dealer to get it repaired and fix any water damage; "Yeah our first appointment is in 2 months." To this person's surprise, I agreed to this length of time to schedule repairs to my brand new trailer, however, upon scheduling the appointment was told "Oh and since you didn't winterize, this will most likely be customer pay, unwarrantable." Ok, I'll fix it myself, thanks for your time. Fast forward to last week's festivities where the fancy auto-leveling feature ceased to function entirely and had to be manually retracted by hand in order to move the unit. PRAY you never have to go through that exercise. It took the better part of 2 hours to retract 3 jacks. So, because I'd taken time off of work for this particular camping trip, paid for reservations and just wanted to enjoy some quality time with my family in my less than 1 year old trailer that I'm making monthly payments on, I thought, you know, I'm not going to bother calling these jerks, I'm just going to show up on a Sunday and leave my trailer there for them to work on it first thing Monday morning. Get to the dealership in the morning, and the salesman that greets me says "Good morning, looking to trade that in?" I say "Does that happen often here?" To which he says "Well, occasionally." Comforting. No sir, I'm here to get my junk fixed, which must happen less often than trading in a brand new trailer. He says "Oh, well our service department is closed today, you should have made an appointment." Well, sir, I'm supposed to be camping today and instead I'm here, so should I go somewhere that cares about their customers instead? He says he's going to get his sales manager, so I follow him in and meet Bryan(Finance manager from earlier, now GSM, as he referred to himself several times, even though his card still says Finance Manager) who proceeds to tell me that their insurance will not allow them to take possession of a coach, only the service center can do that. Ok, Bryan, I can understand that, you don't want to be held responsible for damage to a unit that you don't show in your possession, who do you report to that I can drop it off at their house? Bryan replies by saying that Camping World owns the dealership. Great, who do you report to at Camping World? He won't give out that name (Catherine and Paul McDonald for anyone who'd like to look them up on LinkedIn and give them a piece of your mind). He tells me that if I call on Monday, they can set you up with an appointment for service, "maybe 2-3 weeks from now." Long story long, this place does not value it's customers after the point of sale. Once they've got your name on the dotted line, they are done with you. read more

The service department is the worst. We made appointment to have some minor items fixed in July, they told us to bring it in August, which we did. We just now received the trailer back, it's November!!!! After calling several times for status we were told that they would call us, which they didn't. We called again in early November and were told it was done and the forgot to call. We've been making payments on this trailer we haven't been able to use for months. Also, they left pink anti-freeze to dry on the sinks, toilet, and cutting board and the caps(trash) in the sink. This stained the white surfaces pink, and I can't get the stains out of the white surfaces, including kitchen sink cover/cutting board, this a new hardly used trailer. Please safe yourself the aggravation and time and go to another shop that respects their customers time and money. read more

I'd give them a zero if possible. Service is always booked out months in advance, and they won't do any warranty work on a unit not purchased by them regardless of their obligations as a dealer. If you can let your RV sit on their lot for a month or two - perhaps theres a chance of getting something fixed. But if you are on the road - don't waste a second here. read more

Horrible customer service, I prefer to spend my money locally but they apparently don't want it. I called 11 days ago to inquire about purchasing and installing a satellite on my RV. I heard they are now affiliated with Camping World and this would be a great opportunity to keep it local and at a reasonable price. I didn't get called back so tried again, the receptionist is the only reason they get a 1 & and can't mark lower. I explained what I wanted and that I hadn't received a return call after leaving a message. She asked me to hold while she tracked down a person. I was connected with Joe and explained what I wanted and how I would like it to be done. It took a couple moments but he was able to find the part and the price matched Camping World's, along with installation time, which was consistent with what I have been quoted from a California Camping World store I have previously done business with. I'm thinking great but he said he needed to look up a couple parts and put me on hold. Shortly after that I was disconnected so I called back, the receptionist put me on hold, after ensuring she had my number and went to get Joe. She explained it could be a while but Joe would call me back shortly, NO SUCH CALL. I waited four days over the weekend and called backed but again NO RETURN CALL. I called the Camping World main number to confirm they were affiliated and it wasn't a sick joke, they are in fact, though not named, they are a part of Camping World. To date I have never received a return call from Joe or anyone from Sierra RV. I don't understand how the business with such poor customer service and so many other options available can stay in business. Very unfortunate, don't waste your time. read more

Beware of the Sierra RV service department. Supposedly, they are a Norcold authorized warranty/repair shop. My (new) refrigerator was turning itself off when operating on propane. Sierra RV said they couldn't duplicate the problem. They said the charge would be $61.16. When I went to pick it up, the bill was $94.37 (and this was warranty work!) And they didn't do a thing. Zero troubleshooting. It appeared they had it connected to shore power! I asked what Norcold said; Sierra RV said they didn't bother to ask Norcold. Do yourself a favor; steer clear of Sierrra RV service department. read more

Buyer be aware. After nearly 2 months of waiting for a unit I was going on vacation for a week. Salesman told me I needed to give them a deposit to hold it in case it came in while I was gone. Went in to give the deposit and the GM tried to get me to sign a Purchase Order. He wanted to lock in the deal and told me Camping World ( new owners) doesn't negotiate. When I came back from vacation I went in, no RV. I told the salesman I was not going forward on the deal. He walked away without a word into his office. The GM came out and handed me my check. I asked for the paperwork to be voided and he laughed at me. The Camping World in Boise Idaho has the same unit and will work on negotiating a price. read more

Absolutely the worst service department I have ever dealt with. Latest example is I checked 3 times in the weeks leading up to my installation appointment, was told each time satellite and step were in, just didn't have the pricing yet. The day before drop off day I insisted that I needed pricing, I wasn't about to give them a blank check. Gal that was my service "advisor" finally admitted that parts were not in and had no idea when the would be. On a prior service appointment, work requested (storage doors difficult to open freely) nothing really done. To correct issue, they still stick, they did this to me at least two times before on service work. Can't speak to the sales operation, but I can tell you that with ANY RV getting 30% off the MSRP at any dealership is a fair price, anything less than that and you overpaid. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity, well, I'm done with Sierra RV(Camping World). Now I know why there's a picture of WC Fields there saying "never give a sucker an even break". So to review, if you're buying start by offering 35% under MSRP and settle for no more than 30%, as for service work, go anywhere else! Or they'll have a guy dressed like WC Fields give you a t-shirt that says "LICK ME ALL OVER, BECAUSE I'M A SUCKER" Of course, all this is just my opinion... read more

This place will try to take advantage of anyone they think they can screw over. This was my first time visiting any RV sales place. They high pressure and try to guilt you into buying a RV before you are able to leave and do any research on a big purchase. They will give you much higher prices then what is on their web-site. They won't talk price without running your credit. They will add so many markups that it will make your head spin. Why tell someone a trailer is 30k but after markups and everything else you are paying 45k. They won't let you pay cash or use your own lender. If you don't buy the RV when you go in they tell you that you are cheap and offend you for wanted to shop around. When you keep refusing they insult you and question you as a person who can't offers the finer things in life. They try to hurt your ego so you prove them wrong by buying their overpriced RV. They bad mounts all other RV sellers in town. They pressure you worst then the worst used car dealership in the world. They have phrases they used like, you deserve to buy this, think about how happy it will make your wife, treat yourself to something nice, now you will be able to go real camping, think about how people will view you as an RV owner etc.. whatever you do, do not buy from this dealership. I will warn everyone I know about these guys and their shady practice. read more

We had a friendly guy, sales... And financing guy. We I feel were not " Strong Armed" for additional add -on. We paid just under $1000. for a clear coating for protecting the inside and out surfaces. I seriously doubt it was ever applied. I had to clean surfaces inside and clean the floor upon getting home. and after our first trip, my husband washed outside surfaces.. dirt and bugs were suppose to Easily Clean Off! NOT! he had to scrub... we were taken, I hope no on else falls for this offer. then after first shake down trip had to wait over 6 weeks for service. and we talked to service gal. the think was Unplugged **!!##!!. Again we tried to rebook another service time to fix Heater Unit. (was to hot to test) We were again told 6+ weeks... end of October... What??!!! There is a Reno premium on everything in this town and this dealership takes this construct to extremes. They have very low quality RVs here. If you know anything about the best built and best reviewed RVs you'll know not to shop here. This is the bottom of the barrel. This is the Chevy nova's of the RV market. One of the salesman came waddling out into the parking lot with his shirt opened and his belly hanging out with a bucket of fried chicken in one hand and a chicken leg in the other. We tried to buy our new Jayco class C motorhome from Sierra RV thinking that a local distributor would be much better, but they don't sell class C, so we had to go elsewhere. We just needed a few minor warranty repairs done on our class C, and not only are they not willing to work with you, (because you didn't buy from them) even though they are a Jayco distributor, and they have a full service department! BUT they also charge you, on warranty work! They are very unfriendly unless you buy from them!!!!! Not only will I never buy from them, but I will tell everyone I know not to! BEWARE- Unscrupulous dealer!!! I was a follow vehicle for a friend dropping his Class A motor home off for consignment sale. I stood in the rain walking the dog as they walked around the vehicle. They were giving him 84k when sold. When listed it was for $150,000!!! More than it's value. After 3 months they said pick it up - can't sell it because it did have some light scratches and that's why it wouldn't sell. . We checked the listing which then dropped to $110,000 which made sense. I again offered to drive my friend to pick it up. Before leaving he saw some pretty serious damage to the back left- including a safety light. Camping World refuses to take responsibility claims it was dropped off that way. They showed pics- the pics had snow on the ground and there wasn't any when we dropped it off, just rain. I did a walk around before we left just admiring it, it's a beautiful rig - there was no damage and certainly not a safety light out. So of course no one is going to buy a overpriced damage vehicle- and what dealer would take in a vehicle to sell without noting and getting approval to fix a safety light! They've just basically called him a liar and told him to get off the lot. This guy is a 20 year retired Air Force pilot with another 20 in government contracting and one of the most scrupulous people I know. So my advice is go elsewhere. read more

Update 5/12/2021 - since the issue was addressed I have changed the rating from 1 star to 3 (deducted 2 stars for the hassle and stress we had in the beginning based on the initial review): following the below review we were contacted by Sierra RV and Camping World and our appointment was "found". We dropped off the camper on Monday 5/3/21 as previously scheduled back in February 2021. We explained that we are leaving on a trip and need the camper back by Monday 5/10/21. We followed up 4 days later on Thursday 5/6/21 in the afternoon. At that point nobody had even looked at the camper and we were told that they were several weeks out (imagine you make a hair dresser appointment at 9AM on Monday and your hairdresser wont even see you till Thursday afternoon or weeks later...???) Anyway, we re-emphasized that we are leaving and need the camper back Monday 5/10. By Friday Joe was able to have someone start looking at the camper. We called in the afternoon on Monday 5/10 since we hadn't heard back but the camper was not ready just yet. We received an early follow up on Tuesday 5/11 and were able to pick it up that day. The issues were addressed and fixed and the roof was resealed. It was an unnecessarily stressful scenario that required us to constantly follow up and push, but the end result was that we got the camper looked at, issues were addressed and we can now relax on our upcoming trip. Joe was great to deal with once we got our camper into the shop. If they get their scheduling and timeline sorted, the experience would have been much better. FYI - Sierra RV was bought by Camping World. Original Review: Made a appointment in February for early May to get our RV serviced before a cross country trip. Called and confirmed appointment multiple times. Called again this morning (5 days out) to confirm and was told we don't have an appointment. Service guy was out on medical leave when we made the original appointment and has no clue or interest in what happened. Now they are stating they are fully booked and can't fit us in. That is why we made the appointment in early February for May!!!! We are now going on a 3 month cross country trip without fixing the issues we discovered last fall. We have heard many horror stories about Sierra RV and unfortunately can only confirm them. Stay far away! Don't think they will actually honor their appointments! Or even care. 4.5 Stars - very happy with my sales guy Shannon - I understood what I was buying (Cougar 24SAB) and he did not push me at all, as I had done my homework. I cannot speak to the maintenance concerns on this page, but communication and effort were top-notch. Scott Bailey (Finance) was fast and to the point - I did purchase GAP coverage for $850. I did my own financing through my bank and they saw it as a cash transaction. Shannon delivered my trailer and went above and beyond by communicating with the RV park and ensuring all the necessary items were bought before leaving the dealer (heated water hose, pressure regulator, L-connector, and levelers). I ended up bringing a friend here and he bought a trailer two weeks later. Dropped half a star because of the prices in the store, not the actually trailer. 175% higher cost on the heated hose...buy from Amazon. read more

I have had bad experiences with RV service centers in the past but this one is the absolute worst. I had my motorhome in there for warranty work and asked them to winterize it while they had it. They forgot to winterize it - TWICE. I had to hound them to order parts from the factory and get status updates. They had my motorhome for 7 months and was returned incomplete, filthy dirty, and mouse infested. I commented on how dirty it was when I picked it up and Jamie said she did washed the windshield for me - she used the windshield washer and had only smeared the dirt across. I wasn't sure whether she was serious or just messing with me. : ( read more

Terrible - 1. Set up the apt to bring in the trailer for service about 6 weeks in advance. Called them a couple of days before to make sure they had the parts before driving the trailer in. They confirmed yes, even though they didn't have the parts. They kept the trailer for about 5 months. Then 2 - part of the service - Steve Darr insisted there was no leak. Gave a ridiculous explanation. Trailer was shipped to Oregon where they said the leak was obvious and visible. They fixed it right away and are shipping it back. Horrible! Horrible! Today I went to Sierra RV in order to purchase a new coupler for me power cord to my RV. On arrival, I was greeted by the parts clerk who was very helpful in finding the part. Afterward I was instructed to meet with service to see about installation. There were three women at the desk and none of them were happy to see me. After I explained what I needed I was told they would not replace the part I ordered from their parts department. It was obvious I was bothering them and they had no interest in my explanation of the service I wanted and it was clear they could care less. Why would anyone in their right mind buy an RV from them. When I complained I got a shoulder shrug as in, "Oh well." Sierra RV you have horrible customer service and the only reason I give you one star is because the parts clerk did a great job finding what I needed. He even called the manufacturer to make sure he was ordering the right item. Your service department is absolutely horrible and could not care less about customer service. I would drive to Texas before I am back in your store. read more
