Firstly, our waitress Alicia is amazing. We've actually come to Campisi's twice on this trip because of her. The first night we had: artichoke hearts, pizza with garlic and a chopped salad. We say on the patio and it was perfect weather in early October. We came back for fried ravioli (we ended up getting two orders because my daughter demolished the first order). ***Honest review alert for food enthusiast.*** Would not come back and do not recommend if you know good/ authentic Italian food. Before the food comes out, they bring a small salad, which was soggy and brown, looked like it sat all day. We got the sausage and peppers as an appetizer, the sausage was really dry and the peppers weren't cooked all the way. Also ordered the beef and cheese raviolis, they were fried too long and definitely from the frozen aisle. The garlic toast is literally Texas toast, garlic is not fresh, probably also from the frozen aisle. As an entree we got fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, it was so bland we took everything to go and revamped it at the house. I'm actually pretty surprised this place has some low reviews. I've came here twice and both times were great. You get really good portions, and it's not super expensive. Which is surprising given its location. I get the toasted ravioli and Greek pizza and they're both DELICIOUS. My family members ate there with me and they also agree how good the food is for a good price and large portions. Staff is friendly, and there is outside and inside seating. I'm not sure what people expect, this obviously isn't Crown Block lol but it is still a nice, cute and casual Italian restaurant. I love Campisi's on Elm. read more

Went into this location for the first time, not what we expected. Staff was combative and confrontational, we had ordered a espresso martini and it was served watered down so we sent it back and from there on the entire staff treated us different. The waiter came back on two separate occasions to confront us on a comment that was taken completely out of context, a comment between my friend and I that had nothing to do with him . When he confronted us about our comment we completely lost our appetite and the meal you seen pictured is what we took home , we couldnt even enjoy the rest of our evening there. I found this place through my Yelp app. It was close to the hotel and open until late. A perfect option for a late night dinner after a long cross country flight. I sat a the bar to enjoy a good read and a good meal. Service was good, I was well taken care of by the bartender, however, the food was not up to par to expectations. A plate of extremely oily pasta with a small piece of salmon, not much to speak of. Perhaps Pizza might be a better option. Next time, it will be just drinks. read more

Originally wanted to go to Woolworths, but it was an hour wait, so tried Campisi's instead. Tried to order a Sangria, but no Sangria available. Got the spaghetti special for 8.99. It turns out it has no meat. I never even thought to ask. If you are going to make Spaghetti without meatballs, you had better have some great sauce. The sauce was not good. I ordered the Prosecco and it turns out the one I wanted could only be ordered by the bottle. The special came with a salad that contained lettuce and banana peppers( which I don't eat), so my salad was lettuce with store bought ranch dressing. Campisi's reminds me of a restaurant that could have visited by the Rat Pack. Classic Hollywood meets Classic Italian. Service is awesome but the food is much better. Although the entire restaurant was reserved for a private event, the food spread was spectacular and the drinks were great. The cocktails were even disappointing. To add to all of this, our server started out ok but kept disappearing for extended periods of time. Down to Dallas for a Stars game we dropped into Campisi's at the suggestion of my boss. Crab claws he said. And we did. Lol. Atmosphere is awesome. We went before the game at 5 so we were seated right away. I wanted to order all the appetizers but we limited ourself to half an order of crab claws. Neither of us had had them before so it was a food adventure. They arrived after a short wait and we both thought they were tasty. Soaked in butter. Half an order was perfect for us as an appetizer. We also split an Italian beer neither of us had tried before. Very Budweisery if that is a thing. lol. Out next came our food...but wait where is the salad? Whoops. The salad arrived after we had our entrees for awhile. That, to me, was a bit distressing and I would have given 4 stars had the food been warmer and served in the right order. I got the new shrimp scampi and my partner got pasta combo. He said his was like warm but mine was perfect. I will definitely go back and try other menu items as it wasn't a horrible experience.
