We popped in for lunch after a round of golf for some food and drinks, and left satisfied and full. It was happy hour so of course we had to take advantage of some of the deals. We got the buffalo wings, which were crispy, and meaty. Chicken fell right off the bone, and with the spicy ranch, a very nice touch. They have a $9 burger on HH, just the burger, not a bad deal, the burger itself was tasty, but needed a sauce of some sort to elevate it, bc it lacked any distinct flavor, just an average burger. We also ordered a club sandwich, which come on a croissant. I was hesitant about the croissant but it actually ended up being really good. Good amount of deli meat, just overall a tasty sandwich. We sat at the bar and our server was super friendly and made sure we were good at all points of our visit. Overall, not a bad spot to grab a meal after the round, would eat her again for sure

Camps Restaurant While staying at WorldMark in Angels Camp, we were gifted a certificate for Camps Restaurant. The staff is friendly and very approachable. Our Fried Ravioli and Bread with Butter came to the table rather quickly. I truly liked the ravioli but I loved the bread. I am very much a carb lover as much as I am a steak lover. So a warm crusty bread and soft uber spreadable butter is one of life's greatest pleasures (yes, the bread is an $8 charge). However my enthusiasm couldn't continue throughout our meal. Although my Rib-eye Steak was cooked perfectly the way I like it, the vegetables on the side were very drab and overcooked. The spicy Brussels Sprouts had a good flavor. I wish they were slightly spicier, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. My wife's Sole Almandine was a tad under seasoned and her vegetables were as drab and overcooked as mine. A quick blanche then saute would have done wonders for the sole. In contrast, the mashed potatoes she ordered on the side were perfect. For dessert, we ordered the Creme Brûlée. This was the perfect way to end our meal here. The creme brûlée was creamy and had the perfect amount of sweetness.

Ambiance- live music for New Year's Eve!

Amazing New Year's menu! Had a wonderful meal with family. Surf and Turf was a great value and the service was really good. They were packed and still managed to take care of us. I would recommend coming here anytime! Filet Mingon was cooked perfectly and the lobster was done perfectly! I will be back and I hope you have a chance to enjoy the food and service as well.

We were greeted and seated within minutes, even on a busy Thursday night -- the kind of prompt, attentive service that's increasingly rare these days. This was our fourth visit, and every single one has been a five-star experience. Our server, Dusty, was outstanding. This was the second time we've had him, and he remembered us from our previous visit--including what we ordered. That level of attention to detail and genuine hospitality is rare. He was friendly, professional, attentive without hovering, and truly helped make our anniversary dinner memorable. Dusty is one of the best servers we've had anywhere. The food was exceptional from start to finish. The medium-rare filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was one of the best steaks we've had. The garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely phenomenal, the loaded baked potato was excellent, and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared. One of the most thoughtful touches came from the chef. Since we brought a bottle of our own wine, they served a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and beautifully wrote a special anniversary message in the balsamic. It was a small detail that made the evening feel even more personal. To finish the night, we enjoyed dessert out on the terrace by the fire table overlooking the beautiful view. The tiramisu-style dessert was outstanding, and the "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate was another thoughtful touch that made the evening feel truly special. We also want to recognize Mary, the manager. She took the time to come by our table, introduce herself, and personally wish us a happy anniversary. It's obvious she's doing an outstanding job leading her team because every visit has been consistently excellent. We also appreciate The Perch's dress code. It helps create an upscale, classy atmosphere that makes dining there feel like a special occasion every time. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Amador County, The Perch delivers. Outstanding food, impeccable service, thoughtful attention to detail, and an atmosphere that's hard to beat. Congratulations to Mary, Dusty, the chef, and the entire team. We'll absolutely be back for visit number five.

But when I went with my mom and decided to go for dinner it was a wonderful experience!! The restaurant is a little on the older side and they have really revamped it and turned it into a delicious one!!! We started off with their pot of melted cheese, French bread, and butter yum! The French bread was warm soft and easy to pull apart. We then got the "all day special" where you get to pick a salad or soup, a plate of entrees and a side. My mom LOVES this deal with their salmon and I got the same thing only with italian dressing on my salad. Perhaps next time I will get the bleu cheese like my mom did. Unfortunately they do baked potatoes but not mashed potatoes so I went with the fries. They were a bit thick with ranch. But to my surprise the SALMON! Was not as thin as it was last time it was a wonderful portion, cooked to perfection, and sooooo tasty!!! Now I understand why my mom loves going here often! As for the staff it was wonderful I didn't get her name but our server was an absolute sweetheart she was also ON it! All while having the entire section so we tipped her well! She also knew the menu like the back of her hand which was nice when I hadn't been in so long and had questions about the sides, sauces, etc. lol The vibe is average. It was a regular week day dinner hour and decently packed! That's always good! People working were all very polite and I like how they changed the look of the restaurant by taking down some of the cheesy decorations and leaving up more trendy ones it looks very nice!!! 5 stars well deserved! I would absolutely love to come back with their wonderful service, cheesy bread, and delectable salmon!!!

Gus's Steakhouse in Sonora, CA…read more In the age of "insta"... instant newish trend, instant trendy place, instant place for a selfie or to create a IG reel or YouTube. In the search for something new, don't overlook the local small business restaurants that have lasted over the many years. Gus's steakhouse is one of those businesses. It's family owned for over 45 years, two generations. That's awesome! As a complimentary starter, they provide cheese fondue, sliced bread, and whipped butter. Fondue, don't mind if I do. Rich, smooth, creamy cheese. Bubbling warm over a little steno flame. Lactose intolerant me couldn't resist and tried some. Mmmm. Then they had an all day special two entrees for $32.95. The choices were plentiful. Choose from the likes of sirloin, cheeseburger, salmon, shrimp, chicken Alfredo, chicken parm, chicken piccata... that's just to name a few. The entrees came with side of veggies, baked potato, and soup or salad. Or choose from the regular menu. Plus on Fridays and Saturdays , they offer prime rib. Well I have to come back to try that. We choose the cheeseburger and sirloin. I ordered the sirloin at medium rare. It came out just like I ordered, medium rare. Tender cut. Flavorful. I liked it! Hubs enjoyed his cheeseburger. I took a bite. Mmm. The waitress was super fun and engaging. She chatted about the place and family as we told her it was our first time. We met Gus (the owner) and his son Dino. Both very cool. The waitress was top notch. Excellent customer service. Plus she was stealthy, every time I looked at my iced tea , it was always full. I swear I was drinking it. It's an old school steakhouse. Big upholstered booths that I sink into when I sit down. Not a bad thing. The vibe is casual, low key, and welcoming. Family kiddo friendly. They even have a separate room with a full bar, not open to the kiddos.

One thing that puzzled us a tiny bit was the "specials" appeared to be identical to menu options, but no harm, no foul. The service was very friendly, knowledgable and very well executed. It was accurate and reasonably quick. The food was outstanding. We started with very nice small dinner salads, and the garlic bread brought to the table was well done. We had Chicken Alfredo with Feta, and the Rib Eye Steak. Both were sensational (the chicken benefitted from a squeeze of lemon). The portions were large, and the preparation was perfect. The steak was exactly as ordered, and was the best steak we've had in some time. The chicken was cooked well and the pasta was perfect. The vegetables were great, seasoned and steamed, retaining a bit of crunch. Desert was an event! We had the cheesecake, which was very good, and the chocolate mocha ice cream pie. Oh, my goodness! That pie! It was at least 5" high, and covered a desert plate edge to edge, and it was a coffee and chocolate fantasy with a toffee crust! Out of this world! Simply epic. The only photo we managed was the salad. Everything else we were too busy digging in to! If you're in (or passing through) Mariposa, by all means, go! We certainly will be back.

I asked my favorite llm where I should stop by for prime rib going from Fresno to SF. It at first suggested I make a bee like for house of prime rib in sf, which I like but have been to many times. It then suggested house of beef and I'm so glad it did (cattleman's in Livermore was also a 3rd choice but I've been there several times too). Thankfully it was Fri eve and they had prime rib. I like mine rare and it was perfectly cooked, very marbled, huge, well seasoned and delicious. I pared it wth au jus and mashed with gravy. Then, what reminded me to write this review, was the tri tip from the meat counter and took to go. They were nice enough to pack it in ice for my 2 hour drive. I just cooked it on my grill in the rain and this is seriously one of the best tri tips I've ever grilled up. The meat tenderness/marbling/quality is on par with any prime grade/American wagyu I've bought and the seasoning is just super on point. Looking forward to smoking the baby back ribs I picked up as well in the next couple of days but I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Seems like other reviews had issue with service but the staff were exceptionally attentive when I was there. Seriously the only thing that wasn't top notch about my experience was the cocktails(mine was totally fine but I'm a bit spoiled when I'm in SF) but for my purposes passing through I just wanted the prime rib and meats to go to be delicious and house of beef certainly lived up to its name!

The prime rib and ribeye steak were cooked perfectly to our order, but couldnt finish eating dud to being full from the unlimited bread, salad and soup bar. Garlic fries were amazing and crispy, even after reheated for leftovers. Only a few things I didn't like was when we went to get our soup and salad, they cleared the whole table. I was warming up the butter in my hands for the bread to spread on faster, but they took it away like trash when we went to grab our salad and soups. They resetted the paper towel rolls to the side of the table when we moved it to the center, and they almost took away my husband's alcoholic drink, and then realized we were still dining. The lighting was definitely way too dark. I could see elderly people slipping if there was were liquids or food filled on the floor. The space is interestingly very small for a steak restaurant, but they seem to make everything flow well. Definitely would come again, enjoy the soup and salad bar, and then maybe share a steak instead of ordering two.
