I love Canopy Road Cafe! My friends and I love going to chain for brunch. I have been to several locations and each of them are great. There is always a wait for Canopy, but it is well worth it. The fried green tomatoes are a must. We always get them, when we go. Plus the cinnamon rolls. The food came out quickly and hot. Everything was very tasty, everyone was happy with their meal. Where do I start? Ive visited both locations. The breakfast was FANTASTIC. The menu options were plentiful and any changes needed due to dietary restrictions were made without issues. The wife and I drove about 30 min to come check this place out. 30 min wait while waiting for a seat got us excited cause sometimes that means good food. Our waitress for our Bartop seating was nice and polite. We ordered our food. When the food came I immediately found at what looked to my eye like canned gravy used on my biscuits and gravy... ugh. I also noticed I was missing an egg. Menu said 2 eggs it was not 2 eggs. Then the biscuits were like hockey pucks. I bent the fork trying to cut into biscuit and said so outloud to my wife. I mentioned the egg and again cut into the biscuit to show the waitress. They fixed it but not before I lost my appetite. Service was great. What tried of the food was really just meh. Went to Canopy Road Cafe on 210 today. The male server stood there gathering menus for us, along with silverware. I watched him handle every part of our silverware. He put his hands all over every part of the silverware. Did not wear gloves, just touched every part of the forks, knives, spoons. Seriously? Haven't these restaurants learned anything since COVID? Bright, clean and new. Friendly staff. Crowded and very loud. I would give it 3/5 stars but my wife talked me into 4. I hate the fact that all the new restaurants are so loud. Took a while to get our food, but when it arrived it was hot and delicious. My wife enjoyed her biscuits and gravy. Sausage and home fries were very good. I had the Fat Elvis. We tried Canopy Road Cafe for the first time today and we will definitely be coming back. We had the Banana Nut pancakes and Banana French toast and both were very delicious. My husband also tried their Breakfast burrito and we both loved it, so glad our server Cole recommended it for us. Service was fast and friendly and we were well taken care of with refills on coffee. Extremely rude customer service, This place closes at 2:15 and we got there at 1:45 and they told us they wouldn't serve us. In spite of a very creative menu, the food was just sort of "meh." I kind of had my guard up after hearing someone in the kitchen yelling about "this nasty ass grill" and sure enough, my ham and swiss omelette tasted like it fell on the floor. This place is pretty good. I can tell they try very hard. The food was good, nothing special , however we are not a breakfast family and I think that is where they shine. The food being delivered to the other tables did look awesome. My sons buffalo chicken sandwich was just ok, they didn't toss the chicken in the sauce just ladled it on the bun. I had the patty melt and thought that was delicious ! The only reason I am not giving it 4 stars is because the restaurant is very loud. First impressions were not great. Tried to order milk for my son and they were out, at 9am on a Saturday that doesn't seem reasonable to me. Ordered the chicken and waffles for myself and then the waitress comes back and says they can't make waffles because the waffle maker is broken. Apparently it's been broken for weeks, also doesn't seem reasonable for a breakfast place. We ordered biscuits as a starter and I'm fairly certain they had been microwaved. The waitress was good, although no one bothered to inform her about the broken waffle maker so she could at least inform her customers before they order. The restaurant itself wasn't clean nor was the bathroom. Our actual meals ended up being fine, but nothing special. The overall experience definitely wasn't worth $60 and we probably won't go back. There are so few places to sit down and eat nearby that it's a shame this isn't being run better. read more
