This place is the proverbial "hole in the wall". Doesn't look like much from the outside. A few benches along the wall, a few tv sets mounted on the wall, nothing special from an ambience standpoint. But, man alive, can those guys cook up some Mongolian Beef! Thick, flavorful sauce, tender beef, nice and spicy...just the way I like it. Throw in some wontons and a big bowl of white rice and I'm a happy camper. Probably better for take out than dine in. One of the nice benefits is that there is a Ben and Jerry's right next door. Stopped in this place for lunch on a whim. It's a small chinese restaurant in a strip mall, so my review is based on the expectation of a quick, cheap chinese meal. I was craving General Tso chicken and saw a review here. Ordered it with fried a rice and an appetizer of fried shrimp. Though the shriml was just regular deep fried in tempura batter it was a nice surprise to see it was 2 shrimp in one piece. The chicken was excellent and the rice was cooked to perfection. It is a good batter on the chicken and the sauce though a bit sweet was easily managed with the rice. My only complaint is that there was hardly any heat at all. They did forget my drink when delivered but once called the driver was back with my drink within 5 minutes of the call. read more

So I decided to try this place because it was close to my hotel. When i walked in the place it felt drab. But i figured maybe the food will be exceptional. NOT. I should've gone to Panda Express. My order took rather long to prepare and then once i started consuming my entree I was not pleased. The kung pao had chopped chunky vegetables instead of sliced or julienne, and they were very under cooked. Little meat, all dark meat apparently. The "fried rice" had no flavor or veggies. Then on top of this subpar meal the price was about $2.00 more than what i normally pay. read more

After seeing a movie on Christmas we were looking for open Chinese food restaurants and found Canton Express. We ordered a few things like sesame chicken, happy family and some lo-mein. All them were delicious. I typically judge a good Chinese food restaurant by their sesame chicken and this place had pretty tasty sesame chicken. Canton Express used to be fantastic until they changed ownership. Before the staff was very friendly, and if you became a regular they would remember your order. Now the service is slow, and the food is just okay. They are trying to improve because they have come to the realization that they have lost business. In a Nut Shell: The staff was SUPER great, the food not so much. Man, this pains me to write this, I wanted to love this place because it was so close to my house, but alas I can not. The owners were very friendly and the place had constant people coming through even for a Wednesday evening so either people like it, put up with it or there is constantly an well of new people that can't run dry. I'm leaning toward the latter. The egg drop soup and the fried rice had no flavor. They were the most bland I had ever tasted. So maybe if you are watching your sodium this may be a good choice. The soy sauce was super think and tasted strange. It was more of a soy glaze, if there is such a thing. (Think balsamic glaze for reference.) The sesame chicken was not normal and my niece (who LOVES this stuff usually) didn't even want to eat it. We ended up taking it home as sometimes she just has an off day and may like it tomorrow. NO GO! You'll need to try it for yourself, but for us it's a "No thank you." read more

I went here for the first time yesterday and my husband and I ordered our food to go. He ordered the garlic chicken and I ordered the szechuan beef. The food was not that great to me. I thought that it was ok. I have had szechuan beef before from other chinese restaurants and this has been the worst! Plus when we went in the restaurant it kind of smelled wierd. Chinese food is sometimes a hit and miss type of deal, however, with this place I've come to realize that even the simplest things can come in better and improved ways such as sweet and sour chicken and pork and other Chinese food that may be on your palate of taste preference. I would come more often only if I'd live closer to this establishment but other than that its a great place to come if your hungry and want something moderately priced!! We ordered FRIED wings and beef fried rice & pork fried rice and a lot soy sauce, because I knew that they would only send a few. The wings looked like they were baked or anything other than fried and we got all of two packets of soy sauce. When I called to get the order fixed or at the very least an "I'm sorry, my bad",the lady tried to convince me that the wings were fried and "they are delicious and you should try them". Needless to say that the conversation went absolutely nowhere after that because of the language barrier. Fried rice was hard, over cooked and tasted weird like dirt. Egg rolls tasted like they were cooked in old grease. The orange chicken was very fatty but had good flavor so i'll go up to 2 stars.
