Great Pizza, Nice staff, good selection of drinks and super close to home. Although the drinks are a little pricey the pizza is right on with homemade dough and fresh ingredients. I can walk over from my house in Tech Terrace and grab a pie with a friend and have a couple of drinks while I'm at it. The staff is really nice but they can get a little busy. I'd give them 5 stars but the time it takes for the staff to get around to refilling our overpriced domestic bottles is enough to take away that fifth star. Just don't go over there in a rush. We were totally impressed with Capital Pizza. A friend mentioned that they had good pizza, so we went to check it out. Upon entering, my hopes were a bit dimmed as the place was empty, and every single table in the dining room was dirty without a busser in sight. The paper towels on the table signified to me that this would be just another blah beer n' pizza joint. Well, my first impression was wrong and we were honestly blown away. The ingredients are high quality, the Caesar had an oil based dressing that was clearly homemade, the garlic bread had ground Parmesan (much better coverage!) and was delicious. The marinara they served with it was AMAZING. Real strips of fresh basil in the sauce, and it was honestly some of the best marinara I have ever had. We had to ask for more because we inhaled the stuff. The beer list was also extensive! Like seriously impressively extensive! 2 types of Petrus sours? I seriously doubt that there is anywhere in town with this kind of selection. The only sour note in this otherwise delicious meal was the pizza itself. We ordered the rabbit, an ambitiously creative vegetarian pizza with artichoke hearts, roasted eggplant, olives, etc. It was quite bland and kind of soggy. It's a great idea in theory, but eggplant on pizza is hard to pull off at the best of times, and I have a feeling that it wasn't salted before it was roasted, which probably would have made all the difference. The mozzarella was also fairly flavourless and there was just too much of it, it really weighed down the slice. Could have used a little more sauce, a little less cheese. Kalamata olives would also have been a great flavour boost if available. It was overall, a great effort that felt like promise unfulfilled. However, I appreciate that a good vegetarian option was even offered! The crust was AMAZING, and I'm excited to try some of their other pizzas. This place is incredible and the food is clearly made with a lot of love, heart, and passion. We will definitely be back. read more

I reached out to this place on a whim, as we needed a spot for 20 of us to come eat. I talked to management a week ahead and was told they usually won't rent out their extra room but would make an exception if we were OK having other patrons in there, which was fine. They had everything taken care for us, and accommodated us at every step of the way. The waitress that took care of us was very attentive and very nice to the kids. The pizza was absolutely amazing. Some of the best gluten free pizza I have ever had. All in all it was a great experience! read more

Capital Pizza is amazing. The food is delicious, the drinks are strong, and I am fond of several of the workers. The owner seems to be there just about every time I go there and he seems questionable toward his employees but standup toward customers. The management, however, is great. Heard about capital pizza while eating at another establishment. Everyone commented how this is the best pizza in Lubbock. Since this is the only pizza I have tried in Lubbock I can't say it's the best in town but it really was a delicious pizza with an extremely large amount of toppings on it and the most cheese I've seen on a pizza. The pizza of my choosing was the capital carnivore. If your in Lubbock looking for a pizza I would definitely check out capital pizza. The prices weren't bad either. I enjoyed takeout on this occasion and hope to get to stop back to try an eat in experience also. read more

Last year, I ate at Capital Pizza, and the pizza is fine. If you want decent pizza, this place will suffice; however, last night, I met with some folks here who I only see once per year for two weeks. It's graduation weekend, so Capital Pizza was understandably busy. The server didn't crack a smile, and we waited for about 35 minutes for our pizza to be delivered (and I'm not complaining about this; pizza takes time to cook; I understand). What bothered me were the conversations we overheard regarding how long my party had been there with other customers who were waiting to be seated. We finished eating and had a conversation with each other for about 20 minutes, which was not as long as we waited for the pizza. It was an engaging and fun discussion! In fact, our server asked if we needed anything else, and we said, "no." We were satisfied. Then a server who wasn't ours came by and asked the same question. I think it would have been more appropriate to ask us if we were finished because they were busy rather than talk about customers, within earshot, about how we should leave. I felt rushed, and what was a nice and engaging dinner with seldom seen friends turned out to be an experience I will not try to replicate when I am back in Lubbock again. I am reasonable, as were my dinner companions. And it was a busy night; I am not remarking about the food, but the unprofessionalism, discourteousness, and impoliteness we experienced having overheard servers and a manager (I think) talk about us. My family and I had been looking forward to eating here since we've heard really good things. From the parking lot it smell really good!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and asked to sit anywhere we wanted. The place didn't look as full. We sat at our table and nothing. There was 2 waitresses and neither one acknowledge us. Not even a "I'll be right with you" not "do you need a high chair for your son" nothing. At first we thought that they might be falling behind or something but then we saw them go at least 3 times to check on their tables. We waited for 15 min and finally we realized that we were being ignored so we left. I know that my little family won't make much of a difference if we ate there or not and Capital Pizza probably doesn't even care. I just thought I'd share because I'm still so freaking hungry!! read more

if i could rate less, i would. we (a group of 8) waited 2 hrs for 4 pizzas. we only received 2 of 4 said pizzas after one member of our party went to the bar to cancel his order. to which our waitress, kyleigh, finally comes out and says "the pizzas have been ready if you want them". we said sure because we had been waiting for 2 hrs at this point and received cold pizzas. one of the two pizzas we received had raw onion on it as well, which we couldn't bring to the attention of our server because she was nowhere to be found. in the 2 hrs we had been seated, our waitress came around MAYBE 4 times. we're assuming we got this treatment because we were a younger crowd? no doubt the worst experience at any restaurant, ever. read more

The pizza and sandwiches are amazing. The margarita pizza is the best I have eaten anywhere. They serve a wide variety of beers. I would have liked a larger selection of cocktails but Capital really isn't that kind of place. As I wrote there is enough of a selection of beers and liquors that should satisfy anyone. The servers are very polite and attentive. If I needed anything I just called to them and they were there right away. Capital Pizza will be my go to place every time I travel to Lubbock. read more

If there was even an option for giving Negative stars this would be at the top of the list.the service was sorry, the waitress came around once or twice to check on the garlic bread was burnt. I have seen worse food look more appetizing. The salad was ok, other then the Mountain of olives you get with watered down ranch. The pizza it self was good minus the fact that they just throw the toppings on the pizza so when you grab a slice the toppings fall right off. They charge extra .50 cents for extra ranch "damn liberals" this is America. I was afraid to even ask for refill on my Dr. Pepper as it might inconvenience our waitress that was to busy standing there flirting with the bar tender. But I guess that's what happens when you hire college kids that have no work ethics. The only thing that wasn't over priced was the beer we had. If Lubbock ever did an award for the worst pizza place in town. This place would be at the top of the list. This was the first last and only time I'll eat at this place. And not to mention you damn near need a 4 wheeler drive to get threw the parking lot. Roads in Odessa are better then that. Their online Menu shows to have wings and no wings where to be found. Hands down the absolute best pizza in Lubbock. My wife and I stopped in here our last night in Lubbock and we loved the place . Great atmosphere and bar. Though there is not much staff, they are quick and friendly. The pizza is very good and worth the price. I will be coming back every time I visit Lubbock. Worth a try. read more

Went here excited and left extremely disappointed. I have had delicious pizza in many cities including New York and Chicago and realize not to expect the same here in beloved Lubbock. However, due to the ridiculously awful service I had the pleasure of experiencing and the mediocre pizza I will not be returning. The waiter took our order and that was basically the last I saw of him. Never came back to check on us, refill our water, or ask how the pizza was. He did however do exactly that for the table next to us. Odd. Ordered The Big One- waited about 20 minutes for the pizza and oddly enough it wasn't that hot when we got it. Crust was way too doughy, and there was really nothing special about the toppings. I did however enjoy the environment of this place- very chill and a great place to grab a few beers. Brought my buddy here who was in town from Frisco and had the special (brat, bacon, cheddar, jalapeño, and bbq) and have to honesty say was the best pizza we have ever eaten. I've lived in the UNIT neighborhood for years now and I would have been thankful for any middle-of-the road pub to open within walking distance, but CP is beyond anything I could have pictured. My sole complaint is all the beer pulls on the walls and no draft beers on tap. Such a tease. But I do have to say that their pizza is hands-down the best I've had in Lubbock. I know this is a bold statement; I do not make it light-heartedly. I love One Guys and I know there are West Crustians who would disagree, but the combination of chewy-salty-sweet crust is the closest thing I've had to the pizzas I ate when I spent a summer in Italy. Their toppings range from your typical to fancy-pants. Prosciutto, Gorgonzola, artichoke hearts, cilantro, etc. I've been making it though most of the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Also you can substitute different sauces; the marinara has whole leaves of basil and is my favorite so far. Anyway, go here. Eat here. You won't be disappointed. read more

Zero personal space. As you walk in you're in the thick of tables. No host. No idea where to go. Awkward placing of tables. Capital looks like a cozy place from the pictures, but it is more like a sardine packed room. Ordering take out next time. The atmosphere was the worst! read more

I keep coming back for the food, but the service is slow and inconsistent. The pizza is great, although the grease can make it a little floppy. I highly recommend the cheesy bread app and the buffalo chicken calzone. I wouldn't recommend dining here if you're in a hurry, but if you're looking for some quality pizza and want to have leftovers, it's a good place to try. read more

Let me start by saying that I love pizza more than I love most people. That being said, Capital is probably my favorite pizza in Lubbock, just slightly above One Guy. Their buffalo chicken pizza changed my life and that's all I get there. It's sooo delicious and their waitstaff is very friendly. Only downside is that, despite an impressive collection of tap handles, they don't have any beers on tap. Just bottles. But that is a very good selection of bottles.
