I have had pizza from nearly everywhere in Lubbock, and this place is my favorite. It costs a little bit more ($22 for a large pizza), but they have the best pizza I've ever had. What is it, you ask? I could really tell this is a pretty enjoyable place with a really good selection of beers on tap and bottles. I tried the honey cider wish I was feeling for a little sweetness for $5 and pretty much hit the spot. I ordered the meat lovers Pizza which surprised me on the quality of the cheese that is on there. You know what I am talking about, the one that you chew in your mouth for a while and has that really good Snapback? That is some all the expensive cheese there and as far as the meeting gredients, they all had the usual good flavored with nothing lacking. The pepperonis were really crisp and the Italian sausages did not overpower anything in which they pretty much kept to their own. Service was okay meaning it took about 15 minutes to finally get someone's attention but all in all the food finally came out even though it was wrong but I guess I could have taken a way a start for this but in her defense she seemed a little busy for the amount of table that she had. We're in town looking for a treat meal and decided, college town-PIZZA. First place we went to was dead so we weren't feeling it. Not far was capital pizza and thanking other reviews for pics it was easy to choose here instead and in super glad we did! It was fantastic!!! Texas tech college feel all over the place and stands for pizza-environment was great, clean and well put together. Our server was so busy but she did a great job taking care of us. Especially seeing how she seemed to be the only one there taking care of the tables. Thanks Bailey, we appreciated you! Now for the main reason for being there. Pizza and a good drink menu, and it didn't disappoint. We order the carnivore pizza. Loaded up with all the good stuff. Loved that the bacon was actual bacon and cooked great. The dough, is fresh, very good and in house made. It was soft but cooked great and held all the yummy on top! Sauce was really good. I appreciated that it didn't taste "basic" great flavor! Cheese was awesome too. Next time, and there will be a next time I think to bump it up a notch (cause it's a cheat meal, why not) is to add some riccota dollops on top. . Asked for my pizza well done because every time I get the pizza as it comes it's undercooked and very doughy. I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and I was given two slices of pizza with no chicken or buffalo, straight cheese. Also online the pizza was priced at 21 dollars, but when I got there to pay they charged me 5 extra dollars, they say they just changed menu pricing but I think the servers were just trying to make extra money. This is one of the best pizza places in Lubbock and the only place I get pizza from. I really like their topping choices because I get bored of plain pizza with just pepperoni or sausage. I like pizza with more depth and different flavors. They also have really good calzones. One pizza that's pretty good is The Rabbit. It has a bunch of different veggies and it makes for a really colorful and pretty pizza. Eggplant is one of my favorite toppings for a pizza because I love the interesting texture and the meatiness of it. The olives and artichokes on the pizza add a nice acidic freshness which balance out the greasiness of the pizza. Whenever I order a pizza or calzone, I always add some ricotta on it. Ricotta adds a great milky richness without any greasiness and it adds a little bit of depth to an otherwise one note pizza. There are so many topping options here that you're bound to find something you like. They have different sauces, cheeses, and they also have gluten free crust which tastes pretty good. Of course, it's more expensive than fast food pizza, but I think that the higher price is worth it for an undeniably better product. read more

This was my second time trying Capital and my last. The first time, I had Capital was when my siblings ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and I had a slice of it. It was the bomb yummy. OKAY, so tell me why when I ordered take out with specific toppings they act like they couldn't comprehend what I wanted? I told that lady who worked there, that I wanted the Rabbit, NO RED SAUCE. I put emphasis on that and she said: "ok, I got it." I said, to substitute the black olives for artichokes, I said, instead of red sauce, could you substitute for PESTO. I told her that I am allergic to red sauce. She agreed, no red sauce. So, we drive over there and I pick up the pizza and pay. I ask the guy at the front, do they offer Tech students discount, he laughed and said: "no, we would be losing more money if we did that." The guy wasn't very nice neither, he lacked customer service skills. I say, "OK" and leave. Tell me why, when I get home -- I look at the pizza and guess what??!! They did opposite of what I asked. I said no red sauce, they add the red sauce with the pesto on top of the cheese. They put olives on the pizza. It's amazing that they cannot even understand a simple order. The pizza wasn't great because I ended up having to scrape off the red sauce which made the pizza messy. This isn't the best pizza in Lubbock because they failed to make the order the way you want since you are the one paying. Also, the pricing is ridiculous for a large. I can't believe the good reviews this place gets! Our experience and our food were both terrible! I was working a show at a nearby performing arts center, and ordered from here for our aftershow food for the band and crew. I placed the order at 12:15pm for pick up at 9:30pm, so they had over 9 hours to get this right. After placing the order, I got 2 confirmation emails - one that the order had been received and one confirming that the pick up was scheduled. At 9:30, when our show runner arrived, no one seemed to know what she was talking about. She showed them the printed confirmation and they finally found it in the computer. No apology, no nothing. They THEN began making the order (which consisted of 4 pizzas and 4 sandwiches). It took so long that the food didn't arrive back to the venue until almost 11pm, nearly an hour and a half after the hungry band and crew were expecting to have it. As if that wasn't bad enough, the food itself was AWFUL. The sandwiches were soggy and anemic looking, with hardly any filling. The pizza, which was at least 1/3 crust, was dry and covered in oregano to the point of literally being inedible. The photo below is the white pizza with spinach (supposedly) which as you can see, contained no spinach, but all of the Italian Seasoning in Lubbock. So between the terrible and unapologetic customer service and the disgusting food, we could have just set the $150 on fire and called it a day. Avoid. read more

The marinara sauce was absent except near the edge, i.e. more like a red tinge than what you would expect on a pie. The wife was hungry and didn't want me to send it back. I told the waitress that I felt badly about paying $20 for this 12 inch pizza that I couldn't bring myself to eat but got nothing off the bill. We've eaten here three times. But it is extremely overpriced for undercooked pizza. If you eat in the restaurant you get a different quality compared to take out. We just ordered a large and a small ($45) which is robbery and the toppings were all undercooked. Not too merino they think on the "big one" as long as they smother it in subpar sausage that it makes up for all veggies being missing or still raw.
