I scheduled a appointment for my service airbag warning on my 2015 cadillac. I was very specific about the needed repair when I confirmed the appointment. When I arrived the service advisor said " Oh, we don't do those kinds of repairs here, they are done at the other shop and they are 2 to 3 days out". Then why wasn't I scheduled for that repair in that shop when I was specific obout my needs. Very poor service. When I called to get more information I was told that they don't service cadillacs. Again, when I made the appointment I was specific about my vehicles make and model. I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS WHST A HORRIBLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAD. read more

We called to set up an appointment here and told the service advisor what was going on. The check engine light was on and the car was stalling a bit after fueling up-- and we had just had the oil changed somewhere else. They tell us we can drop it off and they'll check it out, never once mentioning they have an hour labor minimum. When we arrive, there's no clear direction on where to check in. They tell us they'll call us later that day. They don't. The next morning we finally check in and find out that the oil cap or whatever wasn't screwed on all the way. They say that's the only issue. Oh, cool, it's like a loose bottle cap, screw it on, call it a day. That'll be $140. $140 freaking dollars? To tighten a lid? With your hand? In like 2 seconds? The service manager says that's standard and that they run other tests and that they have an hour minimum but definitely spent more than an hour on this. Any good mechanic worth his salt would've glanced at that and let you go for free-- the loyalty would be good for business. The only reason they get another star is because they advised us to go back to the people who changed the oil and ask for a refund, which we did get. However, we lost a day and a half worth of income generated from self-employment that uses that vehicle, and there was no transparency or follow-up. The next time we get the oil change, the same thing happens and the car stalls completely. Turns out it was the purge valve. My bet's going to be that it was also this the first time but their $140 charge and labor didn't find that, so I'm tempted to go down to one star, but since that's speculation, I'll give them the two stars this hot mess deserves. read more

Bought my first brand new car(Aaron) here and I'm regretting it already. First let me start by saying that my sales person (who later I found out is Not a New car salesman but works in the used car lot, aka Google), he was all nice for the first meetup, then after that all I received was wise cracks, him belittling me, and insults, his name is Nathaniel Rosalez. Why would any dealership hire someone without customer service skills? If it wasn't for the manager and the price I can honestly say that I would of gone with Toyota. Not to mention the two days leading up to the purchased they promised (Nathaniel and the new car sales manager Ben) that they would put 16" wheels on at no extra charge, only to sit down with them and they say they won't do it and to "take the car with these wheels because you can't find a better deal or you can buy the wheels from us", we purchased anyways. After about I returned the car some minor issue's which is covered by warranty. They had my car for a week, upon picking the car up today there was a 4 inch gash inside the leather door....I was told that service doesn't cover their mistakes and i would have to talk to Nathaniel. Just as I thought it would turn out, Nathaniel has an attitude, was starting to say derogatory words. Basically have had enough, no one should be treated this way, do they want repeat business?! My mom and grandfather, who spent 40 years working at GM are appalled at the way Ive been treated. And can tell you this, social media is huge, don't think for a minute my family and I won't use it unless Capital Chevy fixes the huge deep gash the service department made in my door. And as of now Nathaniel was being a smartass about having the car fix, that the service dept wrecked or Nathaniel could of done this because I dropped it off to him and I tooka photo of this at the dealership, don't trust Nathaniel...totally disgusted. (UPDATE) after taking the post down so that Barry Beard could get the parts 2 weeks ago, I've received no updates and have left messages and texted Barry on his personal number. I scheduled an oil change appointment for 10:30 on 7/18/22. It's 1:15pm and they haven't finished yet. They said "another 15 minutes and it'll be done." Definitely not coming back for a simple oil change again. If they don't have the staff to respect appointment time, don't overschedule customers if you know it's going to take forever to get everyone through. Going somewhere else instead starting today. Absolutely horrible. Bought a used car thinking the inspection was done as they said. Drove it home, and safety mechanical issues showed up. I had the car checked by a third party and got the quote. Tried speaking to this dealership about the safety issue and now they have refused to accept my calls (out of state customer). The used car manager does not respond and the used cars sales ignore you completely. Do not go to, still waiting for them to redeem their reputation but the way they've handled themselves they shown who they really are. read more

Aside from Kevin in sales and Heidi in service this is the worst! Here's my super long story. I bought a car a few years ago from them, it was dark out and the next day I saw there was scratches and paint marks on it I couldn't see when I tested it. It ended up being thousands higher than any other car that year and model than I found after anywhere else. I loved the car tho and was looking specifically for what I got so it is what it is. A few years pass and I got called requesting to purchase the car back because they are in demand now. Kevin took care of me who is a great sales person and just seems like good person in general. I had my 3 month old with me and Kevin was patient and super helpful. In the end they gave me value for my car and I found a new vehicle that I love so we did the trade up. I was there forever but it's expected. Two weeks later my car won't start. I contact Kevin he offers to deal with it the next business day if we can't get it that night. We got it jumped and off we go. when I bought the car they owed me a detailing because the water was shut off with the construction when I got it. So we were going to go get the plates on and get it detailed and have someone look over the car Incase something is wrong since a new car battery dying didn't make sense. Well we never made it there my newborn son and I got stranded out in an 85' day. I call the dealership after not being able to contact Kevin and no one out of the 4 people and multiple phone calls and transfers I talked to would help or come get us or tow the car. I just bought the car, $40,000 two weeks in two breakdowns and I have a newborn out in the heat and they will not come tow the car or pick us up 3 miles away. But when I took my old car in for an oil change they would cart me to work downtown and back. How does this make sense ? They transferred me to a towing company that I was going to have to pay for and sit outside with my newborn and wait for who knows how long. At this point my son is wet with swet my hormones are going crazy and we have been waiting for 45 minutes with no resolution still. Worried about my son I called a cab and within minutes they took us home. Also I know what Your thinking but I've called and AAA won't pick up my car since I couldn't wait with it. Finally a few hours later Kevin sees my text and calls me. He can not believe how we were handled and immediately is on his way to my home with a loaner car and picking up my keys so they can get the vehicle towed back to the dealership. ( this is a sales guy not even close to his job description btw) on his part this is amazing customer service. It took another 24 hours for the tow truck to be able to get the vehicle because they couldn't get in touch with the right people for the keys to it so they had to get creative about getting it out of its spot. Well ... after all that one of week goes by with hardly any communication, Kevin gives me Heidi's number since he is in sales she's in service. We basically played phone tag with no updates for 2 weeks. Come to find out at some point they sent my vehicle back to dodge because it's under warranty. More time goes by no vehicle no updates and more days. In the end Heidi finds out dodge ended up having my vehicle sit there without touching it for who knows how many days at a time. They thought it got fixed and went to pick it up and it still wasn't. ( not their fault) when I finally get my vehicle back just 1 day short of three weeks ( now I have owned the vehicle for only 5 weeks) I am so happy I get in and go home. When I get out I go to open the trunk to pull stuff out of it.... three deep scratches each side of it. I don't know if it was Chevy, dodge or the tow truck at this point but seriously!!!!??? The way I was treated by 4 employees, not knowing what was going on for weeks, having to constantly call to not have any update topped off by my beautiful new car having scratches now. Kevin was a life saver, Heidi super nice and apologetic the rest of them no thanks. So I went back 9 m later: I took my car in for a service package cuz I wasn't sure if recalls would get delt with if it took it somewhere else. Long story short this time they quoted me a price which was almost 1000 btw I signed a paper that had that price on it and when I went to pick up my car they had charged me $60 more. At this point it's the principle and not the $60. It took me two weeks and calling up the chain leaving angry voicemails to get someone to make it right. When I immediately brought it up to the service manager he just gave me an excuse and then stopped responding. They just suck suck suck suck all the way across the board. F this place read more

I would give it 0 stars. Horrible customer service. Had a check engine light on, was given 2 different solutions for problem, Factory parts, or aftermarket. Told the advisor I wanted Factory. After having the work completed the check engine light came back on. After bringing the car back in I discovered they had put in an aftermarket part from the beginning and it was all hidden from paperwork. Still having problems, service department refusing to acknowledge their failure. Manager is refusing to return my calls. Absolutely horrible service from this group. read more

I have had several issues with the service department since purchasing my vehicle from this dealership. I purchased a new 2014 Spark in July 2015. My vehicle was used as a demo, and came with 2000 miles on it. I was told when I purchased the vehicle that it would come with 2 years worth of oil changes (4 total), I was only given 3. When I went to get my last free oil change I was told that the 2 year maintenance plan had expired in August 2016, only 13 months after I purchased the car- I ended up paying for it to be done. This past summer I had issues with the coolant in my vehicle leaking. I took it to the dealership, with the assumption that I would be still covered under full coverage warranty, as I was just a month or so shy of the time frame running out and well below the mileage expiration. I was initially told that my 3 year/36000 mile warranty expired August 2017. Just 2 years after I purchased the vehicle. I was well under the 36000 mileage. It took some going back and forth with the service advisor, but he was able to get the repair approved. About a month and a half ago I noticed that my vehicle was having some issues jerking while driving, the vehicle would rev up and down quickly, and would make a squealing noise. I brought the vehicle in to be diagnosed, as I thought it was a transmission issue, and thought it may still be covered under powertrain warranty. When I brought my vehicle in I requested a loaner vehicle, but was told that this is not covered under powertrain warranty. I was told I could rent a vehicle for 42 dollars a day. I decided against this. The technician told me that he could not replicate the issue when driving my car and asked me to do a test drive with him. When I drove the vehicle with the tech we notice the jerking occur one time. The tech acknowledged feeling the vehicle jerk back and forth. He stated that because the car was not providing any error codes when hooking it up to the computer that there was nothing that could be done. I was sent home with my vehicle the next day. My vehicle was kept for a week to tell me that the issue couldn't be identified. Last week the jerking back and forth became very excessive. The vehicle eventually stalled in the middle of me turning at a busy intersection. I was luckily able to manage to get out of the road and into a parking lot where I called the service department to report the issue and that the car would need to be towed in to be diagnosed. I was then told that my powertrain warranty would not cover the car to be towed, and that it may be less expensive to get it towed to a closer dealership. I'm so very glad I did. I called the closest dealership, Autonation Chevrolet, and they have been extremely helpful. They provided me with the number for a towing company. I was told that the towing company would bill the dealership, and that the cost would be passed onto me if it turned out that the issue was not covered under powertrain. 3 days after my car was taken in I received a call from my service advisor who let me know that there was an issue with the transmission, that they were going to be ordering the parts needed, and that it appeared that the repairs would be covered under powertrain warranty. I also inquired about a loaner vehicle, and was able to get one the next day. It is not my understanding that what is covered under warranty changes from dealership to dealership. Even if that were the case, I would not recommend taking your vehicle to Capitol Chevrolet. The date that my warranty expires still shows incorrectly. I feel like I have been lied to about what my warranty covers. Above all, my safety was put at risk when my car was allowed back on the road with obvious issues. read more

had an appointment to take our vehicle in 2021 Silverado Texas edition it was making a weird noise and they said that to take it in so they can have it diagnosed well here it is almost Friday and nothing has been done to our vehicle. they told me that it would take three the most was four days to have a diagnosed. I have talk to Mr. Rocha I have talk to the area manager. I have talked to several people and up to today. No one has returned my Call, I left my vehicle with a woman by the name of Yvonne and still she has not returned any of my calls. I called again this afternoon. Some young man told me that our vehicle wasn't even there I said what the hell do you mean? my vehicle isn't there I dropped it off with Yvonne well I've called again, and my husband has called several times and no one has returned our calls and no one can give us an update on our vehicle. I don't know if it's lack of communication with the customers or you're just too lazy to go see and look if my vehicle is actually there I called and left a message again with Yvonne and asked her if she could. Please let me know what's going on if my vehicle is missing I need to know so I can report this to the police . This review pertains to the service department and Mr. Hector Moreno Fuente in particular. I brought in my 2017 Silverado for some issues I was having and I received a stellar experience. I purchased my truck elsewhere so I was initially hesitant to stop by but Hector made it so pleasant. The repair took about a week to complete but he went out of his way to ensure I received periodic updates. They set me up in a rental car throughout the repair and upon pickup, all the issues were gone. I used to take my business to the other Chevy dealership up I35 but I will be coming to Capitol from here on out. Hector is completely responsible for making my experience so great. Just picked up my truck after it was in their service shop to diagnose and solve a check engine light for diesel exhaust emissions. Too soon to tell if the repairs they performed correct the issue. My problem and reason for the 2 star rating is that I made an appointment for 9:00 am Thursday and they didn't actually look at my truck until Monday morning. Service advisors Heidi and Larry were fine to deal with, but apparently the people making appointments are not taking into account what the current work flow is in the service department. That is just mismanagement. I thought there might be some advantage to purchasing the truck there, but I was wrong. I won't make that mistake/assumption again. read more

Long story short, made an appt for a car we saw online. 1. No one seemed to know who Jim was (the person we made a test drive appt with). 2. Then they said Jim was "at lunch". 3. They were playing explicit music, def would not my kids hearing that kind of music at a so called place of business. 4. When they finally located the car we came to test drive, the rep said it was "unsellable". That it had "under carriage damage". This the classic BAIT SWITCH move. I do not like being lied to and wasting my time after I get off of work. This was completely unprofessional and dishonest. The vibe and energy I felt there was unpleasant. The sales ppl seemed so slimy. And after we were told about the car, I wanted to let the sales rep know I was pre approved for a loan by my bank. But I'd rather take my business elsewhere. So....get your staff straight. Upper management needs to clean house. I def look forward to seeing this dealership being closed down in the future. I was looking to upgrade from a 2020 to 2021 Tahoe . The internet sales person was sending me email over emails and texts, to come to the dealership and look into the vehicles. Though in their website i can see the inventory is limited. Yesterday afternoon finally I agreed to go and talk after her persuasion. She confirmed the appointment via email today morning at 5AM, when I showed up she wasn't there. Her manager came, and assigned me a salesman who was patronizing me from the beginning. They didn't have any inventory but the sales person didn't have the courtesy to say sorry for wasting my time. He even compared selling a Tahoe with iPhone, like when you go to Best Buy and the phone is not there. Then please have the decency to call and cancel the appointment. He had no intention to sell or make any recommendation, his clear intention was to drive me away. I had such a lovely experience with them in January 2020 when I leased my Tahoe. I guess all the staffs changed after covid-19. When the stocks get replenished I am not going back there are plenty of Chevy dealers out there. read more

This is only a review of the service department: WHICH IS FUCKING AWFUL!!!!! I took my '05 Equinox here for an oil change last month. Not only did they insist there was no such thing as an '05 Equinox (the guy on the phone was talking down to me like I didn't know what car I owned), but they quoted me an unrealistic time and price. When I got to the dealership, I pulled up and NO ONE even bothered to say hello to me. I guess it's customary not to take a 24 year old single female in a late model car seriously? After asking multiple, unfriendly people who I need to speak to, I was finally directed to a "service representative". They ended up holding my car captive for TWO DAYS, not offering a loaner car in the meantime. When I went back to get my car, they told me I needed about $700 worth of maintenance on it. Most of which was unnecessary, and the piece that DID need to be fixed (leak in the transfer case), I got another CHEVY DEALERSHIP to quote me a price $150 CHEAPER than these assholes. All that combined with the fact that they did a "127 point inspection" on the car to recommend services I don't need, but failed to alert me that my radiator fluid was drastically low (my car overheated the weekend afterwords) makes me straight up HATE this place. What a joke of a dealership. They don't do a good job, and they charge you out of the nose for shitty service. Anyone still wondering why GM is bankrupt??? I'm not. read more

I normally don't write bad reviews and almost all businesses won't get less than 3 stars from me, they depend on rep. But this place is horrible. They lie through their teeth. Do not trust these lying crooks!! Yes crooks, I am not exaggerating because they are running ILLEGAL practices. You cannot trust these people. Here's what happened: - They did bait-and-switch on my trade-in values. - Told me a hard credit inquiry was a "soft pull" - They lowballed me on the car by lying about repair prices. - Tried to sell me the plug in hybrid Bolt, when I specifically told them I only wanted all-electric car. - Tried to sell me an overpriced lease. - Tried to get me to deposit $500 without any contract or refund agreement. Probably wanted to pressure me to buy it or keep the refund. Told me over the phone that they would do $1500 for my trade-in. Told me I'm would be meeting their "VIP manager". The guy was a sales rep. He had a fake smile and tried to pat my shoulder and talked about their "philosophy" about how the brand is founded on religious faith etc. Told me to sign a piece of paper for intent to lease if terms are agreeable. I was already serious so sure, that is tolerable. But... When the paperwork came in, they hid the terms under the paper and it said $500 and they told me a flurry of reasons about repairs being thousands of dollars. Serpentine belt change for thousands. Yeah right. They also said it would be $0 down but on the paper it said $2500. $500 is just insulting. The car is worth at least $3000 on KBB and I did a quote on repairpal.com It only cost $200-400. They are totally low ballers trying to make every dollar off you with no respect for you or your vehicle. They told me a hard pull was a "soft pull". I have proof by voice recording and will complain to Experian. Bait and switch etc. These are illegal practices!! Even if they lowered the price, I would not lease from them! They would probably try to get you on every single normal scratch as "damage" and con you every dollar they can. read more

Horrible experience! I I went there in the morning ready to buy a truck, they kept me there forever and I was so hungry, they didn't even offer me water. I was there all day and finally (long story short) they found the truck with a parter dealer and made me make a deposit to bring the truck, they showed me the numbers and we agreed on the price, they said it'll take 5 days for the truck to get there; then that snow storm happened and I understood that it will take more time, but nothing, they never called, and when I did, the primary sales person that I saw didn't even work there anymore, and finally I got to talk with someone that told me that their partner dealer sold the truck! and nobody told me anything! and kept my money for almost a month! Then it took me 4 more days to finally contact someone from the finance department. I would've been ok if they reached out to me and made me feel like a valuable customer if they explain the situation and offer me another truck at the same price, BUT NOBODY DID! They don't care about their customers, I went to another Chevrolet and they did make me feel valuable and paid attention to me and my needs. I wrote an email to the General Manager (Alex Flores) and he never answer. Capitol Chevrolet is the worst dealership I ever been to. read more

First of all when I first arrived for my 8 am appointment, the serviceman claimed they couldn't find my appointment. Ok. They still got my service completed. But what made me so disappointed was picking up my vehicle today. I arrived. Was never greeted. Took initiative and headed to the cashier. Told them who I was and why I was there. Signed the forms and then headed to the restroom. Returned from doing my business and my car had been pulled up, key in ignition, left turned ON and driver's side window rolled completely down. Someone could have easily driven off and stolen my car, because I waited to see if anyone would even greet me. No one even acknowledged me or informed me of what was the end summary of the final results of requested services to my vehicle. No one even noticed or asked if I was the owner to this car. My family has been Chevy owners for three generations back. I refuse to go back to Chevy again. If I was a man, I would have been properly attended to. I hate to pull the race card, but if I was white I perhaps would have been attended to. The young college student was swarming with servicemen, and I probably have more money to spend than she does. Save your time and go to a corporation that values the money you are investing in and can provide you with the quality customer service you are most definitely worth. read more

We had the worst experience at Capital Chevrolet. After a lot of back and forth the sales team agreed to a price on a Tahoe which we went back the next day to buy. BUT, when we went back they tried to change the price on us and started playing games. We eventually walked out. As we were driving out they called to say they would now honor the price we had previously agreed to. We however drove to Bastrop to visit Covert Chevrolet. That is where things got more interesting. I quickly learned from talking to Covert Chevrolet that Capital Chevrolet was giving us a horrible deal and added in $2,495 in unnecessary fees for a protection package. Also while at Capital I was told my supplier discount code provided to me by a friend at GM Financial wouldn't help the price. Well that was far from true as it reduced my vehicle price at Covert significantly. The sales team at Capital is extremely shady and is the reason people hate buying cars. read more

I purchased my first car last year from Capitol Chevrolet and had an excellent experience (which seems rare compared to other people's car buying stories). Being my first time, I was terrified and felt like I had no idea what I was doing. The entire staff was wonderful and went out of their way to explain every step of the process. They even found me a few extra discounts I didn't know about through USAA -SCORE! To top it all off, they worked with my budget to make sure the payments would work for me and helped me get a low interest rate through their lender. I can't remember the name of the lady who actually did the test drives with me, but she kept us all laughing and put me at ease throughout the process. Side note--I got a flat on my way home from the dealership. Yes, within 10 minutes of buying the car, I tried to break it. I called Capitol Chevrolet up and they scoured through my warranty and helped me recoup the money I spent to replace the tire. They totally went the extra mile for me, and it was a huge help. All in all, good people, excellent customer service, and a great overall experience! My car is still working great and I know that if anything does go wrong, I can just call them up and they'll get me straightened out! read more

I've never provided a negative review and have been reluctant to do so. After negotiating with Leo Palacios, Will Schnautz, and Lazarus Marquart, I felt compelled to share my experience. I wish I had read the reviews on this dealership before trying to work with them. I experienced the aggressive sales tactics and misleading representations referenced in other reviews. I'll post details of my experience later but the short story is that I had a very similar experience to those described by the other low reviews posted on Yelp and ultimately ended up wasting several hours. Think twice before working with this dealership. Don't be fooled by their frequent references to religion and values...these guys do not appear to be worried about the long-term reputation of their dealership. read more

No loyalty to customers here. We've spent thousands of dollars here over the years for various services on our 2 Chevrolet SUVs. We needed an alternator fix which was under warranty by chevrolet. They installed the new alternator but would not honor the warranty. When I say warranty, I mean I have a receipt from the alternator being replaced by Chevrolet. I would have done the work myself as alternator's are easy to work on. It would have been so easy for them - all that Capitol had to do was honor what their warranty to keep a loyal customer, instead they created an unhappy customer. In the future, I'll be taking my service needs to Henna or Champion. read more
