This trip was for my wife's Birthday celebration. It was a Pacific Coast Highway tour. Our stop in Laguna Beach was the Capri. Upon check in, I learned of limited on site parking with an off site parking lot about 2 blocks away. My wife and I had to park, then carry our luggage and cooler back to the hotel. Upon arrival we figured out our room was down 3 separate flights of stairs. Finally getting to our room, we relaxed a bit and started to notice the state of disrepair of our room. You could hear every time a door was closed above and below you. It was not what I expected for the money I was charged for this room. Needless to say I was very disappointed in the room product. Being in the hospitality business, I know I would be EMBARRASSED to provide this room product. I would think twice before ever staying here again read more

Had the best time at Hotel Capri with my bestie for a girls getaway. Beautiful location, the rooms were clean and charming. Ava checked us in and was so friendly and gave us recommendations for dinner. We could hear the waves crashing just outside our door. It is actually deceiving of how large the hotel actually is. We loved that it was beachfront with no obstruction. The next day we were greeted by Bachir and Nick at the front desk and they ordered us chairs and an umbrella for the beach. The staff is so genuine and helpful. We had a relaxing time at the beach. A stay at the Capri was just what we needed! Will definitely return to this hotel. Love this place! Came for a last minute one nighter with my husband and toddler and it was such a great trip. This hotel is family owned so it's got charm and the staff is so nice. Even though our room was not ocean view we could still see it a little bit from our balcony. Plus there's also there's open balcony spaces with seating looking at the ocean available to all guests. We grabbed sandwiches at Wigz which was a quick 7 minute walk (or take the free trolley) and brought them back to eat by the beach. The hotel has beach chairs and umbrellas available for guests which is so nice. The pool area is small but perfect for a little post beach swim. Will def go back read more

We had a nice little stay here. Pros: location, location, location, beach chairs and umbrellas on the street, good smelling toiletries, nice staff, good view of the ocean Cons: $800/night for an outdated motel room, parking is a major issue (a few spots on site, was told to go to their over flow lot, TINY spaces), muggy room, and pull out bed was covered in dirty sheets with a stain. I called the front desk at midnight and asked them to bring up a set of sheets, which the room didn't have, and two pillows. They did and it was problem solved. I'm sure that one of the guests just used the pull out and out the couch back but it was not good. Overall had a nice stay with my friends. read more

Vntage Stay Directly on the Beach Its all about location here.That's one of the only ways to justify the price per room. The staff is also extremely nice and helpful. We appreciated the cheese and wine on the deck in the evening, it helped fuel a walk on the beach down below. A pro and con is also the location directly on PCH. Pro - great for walking to restaurants and shops (don't forget the free trolley). Con - it can be noisy at night if your room is on the road side which ours was. We were serenaded at night by a Karaoke bar when trying to sleep. No fault of the hotel, but falling asleep to Cabaret and Sinatra's New York is pretty difficult. Room was comfortable...yes dated, but you can tell the staff really try to keep them clean and as up to date as possible. I'm not sure when the property was built. I shopped around for prices and this was comparable, if not a little less, than other hotels directly on the beach. Parking is tight and limited right at the hotel - there is an overflow lot a bit down the road. If you get there early, you'll probably get a spot at the hotel. However, if you drive a larger vehicle, parking in the overflow lot may be best. We would stay again if the price is right. read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for his 80th birthday, and to enjoy the festival and the pageant. Nick, Morgan, Bachir and other staff were all so very accommodating and welcoming. My family, boyfriend, and I stayed for a few nights because we had to attend a wedding next door at the Surf and Sand Resort. It was way too expensive to stay at the wedding's venue so Capri Laguna was absolutely perfect with only a two minute walk to the wedding! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was very quaint, comfortable, and had an eye-pleasing aesthetic style about it. There is also a complimentary breakfast in the morning that included waffles, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, pastries, cereal, and juice, hot tea, and coffee. My favorite part of my stay here was the quick walk down to the beach, and there are workers that set up beach chairs, lounging chairs, and umbrellas upon request. I would say the hotel is on a less busy spot of Laguna, which I preferred since there was less of a crowd to deal with when picking a spot to hang out on the beach. The location, other than being right on the beach, is also amazing since you can walk to different restaurants and stores. Overall, I highly recommend staying here. It is definitely worth it and I hope to be back a second time next summer! read more

Giving our Experience and the Staff a 5 STAR, from the hosts at the front desk and the gentleman named Bashir who served us, to the staff working onsite, everyone was kind and caring. They were very accommodating. Seeing the discrepancy on our billing (which was done thru expedia) they corrected it and moved us from an ocean view to an Ocean Front room, we were two families and they made sure to put our rooms side by side. With this Ocean Front rooms, we had breathtaking views; we were beyond happy! There are wonderful upper and lower decks for your enjoyment. The pool was delightful, not cold and parking is good and included. Our rooms were clean, crisp and everything worked. While I give them and our experience a 5 Star; there are 2 things which I hope will be given more attention in the future: 1. the patio furnitures need maintenance (wiggling chairs lowers the standard, broken rusty ramps need fixing too), touch up here and there, a little extra care like filling empty pots with flowers, and it would be a perfect romantic getaway. 2. The breakfast that was included was another, perhaps our expectations (given the price we paid) was that of a seated, served continental hot breakfast; it wasn't the case (we just didn't know going in); instead it was a cafeteria style self serve area. There was something for everyone, waffle, cereals, yogurt, milk, juice, butter/jam, bread, bagels and cheese, toaster, starbucks coffee, hard boiled eggs and more. You won't go hungry! And you can take your plate to any of the decks. Overall, we were happy with our stay, it was relaxing and access to the shore was nice, pictures in the ad shows a wider sandy beach with long chairs, umbrellas.... but as the ocean has risen it's taken most of the sandy beach, not sure if it's a seasonal thing, but was a little let down. If the pricing were adjusted to somewhat lower, and not come across as "too fancy" but rather a delightful charming and well located beach front hotel, everyone would be more than pleased coming here and their expectations upheld. read more

Undoubtedly, the waves are humongous to the point that it's scary. You might not be able to chill down the beach. But it's a surfer's heaven. Location was along the main road so easily recognizable. Don't expect too much from the room. A/C were portable and might not be able to make the entire room really cold. Pool was on perfect temperature. Not too cold and not too hot. We spent our entire free time at the pool and was perfect for my 1-yr old baby. It was heated but not too hot. If you want to access the beach, get ready to hike down several flights of stairs. Maybe that was like 6 or 7 floors of stairs. They have wonderful decks overlooking the beach but the most beautiful was the one on top. It was spacious with a lot of tables and chairs. Very nice getaway for the family! I have been in Capri Laguna three times this summer already and the place never fails to amaze me. The hotel has the best view over the ocean. You can watch the sunset from any deck or terrace in this hotel. As well some rooms have private balconies. The service was great. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The area is so calm and relaxing, you can sleep peacefully and comfortably. The staff is so welcoming and respectful. Bachir was great, he is kind, friendly and very professional. Loved loved loved this place! It was our 10 year anniversary and our room was absolutely picture perfect. Overlooking the ocean and listening to the waves crash at night was amazing. Had an absolute 10/10 experience. It was everything and more. The most relaxing weekend getaway. The hotel itself is so lovely, elegant, cozy, and comfortable. Bachir was so accommodating and upgraded our room to ocean view at a good price. He let us check out both rooms before choosing to upgrade. The room itself was great and the ocean view was breathtaking. The hotel is literally on the beach, just a couple steps down and then you're there. It's quite, not too crowded, and stunning. Absolutely stunning scenic walk across the beach. The beach is clean and the view exceeded expectations. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars to walk to and uber is super cheap. This is definitely the place to go to relax, walk around the area, lounge about on your own private or shared balcony (depending on your room), and spend time at the beach. read more

We chose Capri Laguna for a "staycation" over the holiday weekend. The staff was kind and welcoming, Nicu naked sure we had an amazing room. I highly recommend room 501, the view was spectacular! The room is spacious, private with a balcony setup perfect for a couple looking to relax. The room was so nice, we did Doordash for dinner! The sound of the ocean and the relaxing room made it a romantic and restful evening. We had Starbucks at the front desk for breakfast while enjoying our last hours in the room. read more

This was a charming hotel for a quick getaway with my two kids! There are definitely lots of stairs, so we got a good workout, but the views and location are stellar! Ok, so the rooms are definitely outdated and the bathroom is not the nicest, rooms could be a little cleaner (taking off one star), but we didn't spend much time in the room so it didn't matter much. Plus you're on the beach so there's going to be sand everywhere! The front desk customer service is amazing, breakfast was great, free parking is a plus and the pool was small but clean! I felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves- so many places to find a place to relax and listen to the waves. Thank you for making our getaway a great one! We will be back! read more

Oceanfront beauty!! We had a wonderful time and the staff, especially Jade and manager Nick, was extremely helpful and accommodating! The view from our balcony was absolutely spectacular and the room was nicely appointed, spacious and very comfortable. I recommend room 732 for the south facing balcony with beach sand views and we even had a fireplace. Outdoor patios are ideal for sipping coffee or lounging on the various terraces from above or right down by the beach! The pool is a pleasant option as well. You can walk right down a few stone steps straight to the beach for glorious walks or ocean swimming. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The manager Nick even surprised us with complimentary champagne for our anniversaryThe location is superb because you can easily walk to the main beach, shops and restaurants. We have had the pleasure of staying here a few times now, and we have always been thrilled with the service, our rooms, and the location. First off, you cannot find a closer hotel on the beach. While there are a lot of stairs (which i really felt this time as im 9 months pregnant), they are broken up so you can rest and its right on the beach and water! Soooo close! You can request an umbrella, chairs and towels and set up camp all day! We have always requested a beachfront room because we like to spend lots of time in our room and on the beautiful private balcony. This was our first time going with our 2 year old and it was so nice. The room we had (103) is our favorite! A king size bed, a pullout bed and a little kitchenette. My sweet husband even had the Jessica leave surprise roses for me for mother's day! The room is spacious, but if you don't intend on spending lots of time in your room, you can still hear and see the ocean from anywhere on the property. We love Bashar and his staff. He always takes excellent care of us. He told me the first time we visited to always call him and he would find us the best deal, and he did! Plus, anything we needed the staff was quick to bring it. We usually eat a "fancy" dinner at Splashes but were really bummed that they didn't do take out (because of Covid and me being pregnant plus having a 2 yo with us, we aren't ready to sit and dine in a restaurant), so we asked Bashar if he could recommend a good steak and he recommended Mozambique, gave us directions ( just down the street) and we were thrilled; it was excellent food. A fantastic suggestion Bashar! We can't wait to bring our newest family addition back to our favorite socal getaway! read more

One of our favorites! Last year we stayed a few different weekends in Laguna. We stayed at another hotel in the area and didn't have the best experience, so we across Capri and have since stayed there the last few times. The location is great with direct access to the sand and is extremely close to a lot of places I enjoy. One thing I'm particularly keen on is staff/service as I come from a service background, and that's one of our favorite things about this place. On our last visit, Paige was so awesome with advice and recommended what became one of our new favorite restaurants. We've also had great experiences with Nick, Morgan, and Bashir - everyone's super nice. We'll be back in a few months! read more

I just love this gem of a hotel. Spent my birthday here with my daughter and our stay has been wonderful and divine. I couldn't have chosen a better place for our little escapade. We were treated very well. The staff were superb, especially Morgan even before I arrived and just talking to her on the phone, she was super friendly and accommodating. She will never rush you and make sure you are helped. Their manager Nick is just a wonderful person over all, very friendly to all their guest and make sure they are all enjoying their stay. I got a room number 605 it had 2 beds with ocean view and a fire place, it was very nice. I wish the view was better but like others said its just a few steps to get a great view. Check in was easy and customer service was great. Over all the stay was super fun and we had no complaints. More than likely will be getting a room here again when I want to come back to this beach ! The hotel has a very nice location. It has nice beach access. We were disappointed that there was construction next door with noise that started very early in the morning. COVID has definitely changed how we do thing's but one thing it can't change is great guest service. I'm especially impressed by Nick. I spoke to him over the phone after I booked my room from a 3rd party website and wanted to follow up and ensure everything was good. I knew from just speaking with him over the phone that he was on top of everything and I was looking forward to my 1st stay there. It's a beautiful hotel with amazing views. I love the vintage vibe and walking on the deck and over looking the ocean on one side and on the other side of the deck, you can view the pool that has changing lights. Pretty cool visual and for a moment. I totally forgot that we are living in a completely different world. The world around us has changed and will continue to change but one of the many things that shouldn't change and we can control is genuine client service and caring for the well being of others without expecting anything in return. This place is great. Every time I come both Nick and Bachir treat me like and old friend. All the rooms I have stayed are literally a couple minutes walk down to the beach, it is like having a room right on the water. This one of the few places that allow dogs and have a lawn area to take them to to do their business. The front desk has 24-7 Starbucks coffee on demand along with hot chocolate. The also have a continental breakfast post Covid (usually have eggs and waffles) with orange juice. The rooms have a couch, mini kitchen with microwave, small refrigerator, and I dining table, all with a fabulous view. All have very comfortable bedding. This place has multiple lounging areas, either right on the beach (they provide chairs and umbrellas) or multiple levels. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here and absolutely loved it, Bachir was so incredibly kind to us and upgraded our room for us all because he said he just wanted to "make a couple of people happy". I stayed here for a night this past weekend for a bachelorette party. First gripe was that it was super expensive. 2 night stay was almost $1000. Our room had 2 CA Kings and a pull out couch. We could see the ocean from our room. The bathroom was super outdated. Even if they just change the toilet seat in the bathroom, it would help upgrade it a bit. I feel a lot of the beach hotels are super outdated unless you go to the Montage and what not. Pros though: - free wine and cheese happy hour on the deck of the hotel - free morning breakfast which they have a pancake and waffle machine For the price we paid though, we could've gotten a nice house with a lot more parking. If you book one room you get 1 parking spot. We had at least 5 cars. We eventually found free street parking 5 blocks up. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed one night in one of the Ocean View Queen rooms. The view was absolutely fantastic! The hotel is very close to the beach and the ocean is right there! The beach below is a quiet one and there is easy access through the hotel. The room was serviceable and clean. The shower had great water pressure. They have reserved hotel parking in a lot a bit down the street. Nick and Bachir were very kind and hospitable hosts! And there are cookies at check-in so that's pretty great. This hotel doesn't get five stars because it just happens to not be the fanciest five star type resort. But 10/10 would recommend. And I strongly recommend springing for an ocean view room. read more
