I'm giving this location a 4 star for the view, price and Location. I booked the Oceanfront room. The price was really good considering the location. The run was nice and big with a sitting area, dining area, came it a microwave and mini frig. The outside lounge area also has a table and chairs which were great. The sunset was beautiful. Unfortunately, the lounge chair was filthy and had hair in it. I turned it over and that was even worse. Mirrors were dirty. Shower head had terrible pressure. Bathroom sink pressure was also very very low and the toilet kept running. Since I was in the bottom floor, when the people above us were walking around it also very loud and you can clearly hear the conversation. read more

We had a beautiful stay as locals on a staycation at the Capri. Our upgraded Suite room (at a very reasonable price) had a magnificent ocean view and 2 giant sliders leading to the big deck. The king bed was super comfortable, and listening to the gentle surf all night was perfect. The staff was fantastic, shout out to Nick, Casey, and Esmeralda, who were exceptional. We went to Capri Laguna for a girls day and truly felt like we were transported to Greece. The white Mediterranean vibe, the ocean views, everything about it felt like a dreamy escape. Nick was incredibly welcoming and made us feel like we were the only guests there. The service was hands down some of the best we've experienced. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, but our favorite part was sitting outside with a bottle of champagne overlooking the beach. It felt like a full vacation, yet we were only an hour away from home. Such a perfect spot for a girls getaway, and I would absolutely come back with my husband for a romantic weekend. I do not understand how people have such low standards. This hotel is broken down, absolutely filthy, literally falling apart and is completely unusable for anyone with disabilities. Two R2D2 air conditioners somehow count as "central air" and boy, those units are dirty, as you'll see. They spent money updating the bathrooms of these 1940-50s building but haven't bothered to maintain the rest of the property. The pool is the worst I've ever seen at any hotel. You will never stop feeling sand under your feet in your room. Every part of this hotel is actually crumbling away. Look at the patios, look at the awnings and handrails, the building is LITERALLY falling apart. Breakfast is a joke, it's not even the continental you'd get at a cheap hotel. Everyone who works here is super nice and friendly, I'm not discounting that. The owner of this place needs to shell out and fix EVERYTHING. read more

Location is wonderful--right on the beach. The staff have been so friendly and helpful. The safe in our room didn't work; a man came within minutes and fixed it. The room was small, but lovely, with windows all around (easy pull down shades). The floor looked new, with driftwood colored vinyl. Full length mirror, much appreciated. There was a charming little patio right outside our door, also beachfront. The patio opening out of the room was tiny and really not big enough for two chairs comfortably. But we used the one outside (previously mentioned) and it was very private. LOVED hearing the waves, especially at night. Continental breakfast (two protein items: hard boiled eggs and chunks of cheese) was more than adequate. Coffee machine available 24 hours. We walked next door to Splashes restaurant, and had a delicious meal! I would definitely recommend this charming boutique hotel! read more

We had a great stay at Capri Laguna! The ocean views were incredible. We couldn't get a room closer to the ocean than we had. The sounds of waves crashing and the surf were great! The staff and Nick at the front desk were friendly, efficient, and very helpful. We had an issue with getting hot water quickly in our room and they upgraded us from a Queen to a corner King with doors and windows on 2 sides! What a great way to keep customers happy! They had a nice continental breakfast (hard-boiled eggs, bagels, English muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereals, muffins, and Belgian waffles). They also had a Starbucks machine in the lobby. It will make latte, cappuccino, coffee, tea, etc. The latte was as good as any from a Starbucks store! There is easy stair access to the beach. They have free parking. Compare that to over $50 a night as some other hotels! (sorry no bathroom pic) read more

My mom and I had an incredible stay here in early December, where we spent my birthday. Nick and Bachir were very kind and accommodating! I love the architecture of this place. It makes you feel like you are somewhere in Italy with the narrow staircases and white fixtures. The beach is literally right behind the building, which gives you private access to a chunk of Laguna Beach. They have an absolutely gorgeous spot to watch the sunset behind the property. The rooms are also charming with a minimalistic beach theme. Our room was very spacious, and we had our own balcony with a table and a couple of chairs. I especially enjoyed the rain shower in the bathroom! The beach views from your room are also incredible if you can get an ocean view. I also love that they offer a complimentary breakfast with yummy waffles, boiled eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, and more. It is also a great location to stay in Laguna Beach, so close to a variety of restaurants and shops. And only about a mile walk to downtown Laguna. We really loved how walkable everything was in the town. There is also a Ralph's about a block down from the hotel and a liquor store literally down the street from the hotel. Parking was also very convenient with several spots on the property. But what really made an impression on my mom and me was how friendly and kind the staff were (shout out to Nick and Bachir). We will definitely be coming back because of their hospitality! read more

Staff: five stars!! Morgan, Bachir and Nick were excellent and very welcoming and attentive. The long stem roses were a pleasant surprise. Parking: Tight spaces but we were able to park on site and plug in our electric vehicle! We Loved that! but did not love the tight spaces. The room: nice; clean; small portable air conditioner but didn't need it. Ocean breeze was perfect. And the view...really nice!! Bed: comfortable Bathroom: adequate; really loved their lotion there Pillows were comfortable; not too fluffy; not too flat. Microwave and small refrigerator in room. TV: hard to see whole screen from bed. Wine and cheese hour: nice touch. Continental breakfast: excellent! You could even make waffles and coffee! All kinds! Expressos, lattes, cappuccinos, etc. Stairs: if you can't do stairs, this might not be the place for you. To get to the beach you had to go down some stairs. A lot of stairs. Beach: clean, small but felt very private. We enjoyed a nice walk along the beach. There were nice shared areas we didn't take advantage of like outdoor lounge areas and table areas. We were in room 501 so we had a nice little balcony with a view to the ocean. Being able to hear the waves crashing at night was my favorite. Oh and I can't forget to mention it's across the street from Selannes steak tavern and walking distance to so many food and shopping areas. We really enjoyed our walk to Southswell handled ice cream. read more

Absolutely LOVE Capri Laguna, I prefer it over the neighboring Surf & sand. It's clean quiet and has gorgeous views. I grew up going to surf & sand and a few years ago I discovered Capri and never went back to surf and sand again! The rooms are clean and modern and have been recently updated. The balconies are really big and have a table & lounge chair. I love how they use glass balconies vs the metal that other hotels use it allows for even better ocean views. There are a few lounge areas around the hotel with unobstructed ocean views so you're able to go grab the included breakfast & coffee from the lobby and enjoy it at the many lounge/sitting areas with the most amazing ocean views. Another amazing perk to staying at Capri is they have beach loungers & umbrellas for you to use while enjoying the ocean. Not many hotels in laguna offer that. And free parking on site! But I would have to say the best part of the hotel is how caring all the staff are. Nick was absolutely incredible to my family & I made sure to make my most recent birthday trip extra special. Morgan & Bachir we're great and made my family and feel feel at home and welcome. Every time I leave I'm already planning my next trip back to Capri :) read more

This is a boutique hotel . The decor in room and oceanfront views are really nice . The customer service is also great . Mostly every one at the front desk was very accommodating. If my review was based on the room only , it would be 4.5 stars . However , I would be remiss if I didn't mention the outdated facility. This place is really old , with very thin walls , deteriorating trim , bad landscaping , terrible plumbing and the shower water smells like rotten eggs , confirming the plumbing issues . The technology also lacks - there are no outlets on the balcony and the television doesn't offer streaming . The internet in this area is very sketchy as well . Lastly , I highly encourage the management and ownership to invest in diversity and unconscious bias for your service desk . One of the men working the front desk asked me what I did for a living ( with no relative or correlating reference to even ask ) and answered for me and said are you in the hospitality industry? Please inform your staff that a black woman can afford to vacation there just as easily as the white patrons . I was highly offended . I didn't get his name and didn't even want to waste my vacation time defending or explaining myself and then he suddenly has a stronger language barrier when I challenged him . I won't be back, but I will remember the views and the room and the other two gentlemen that were pleasant at the front desk. read more

Staff was friendly & helpful. The views are great from this hotel but rooms need some improvements. Our shower in 601 had trouble getting warm & it seems it was due to the handle being almost broken. The sink had hardly any water pressure either. Come morning time, my husband tried to make a waffle & the waffle machine was also broken. It wasn't heating. I'd give this stay a solid 3.5 stars but rounded up because the beds were comfortable & views were beautiful. I'd stay here again sometime. read more

They overbook and then send you to a room in a much lesser category than the one you booked and claim it was a 'website error'. Then you are stuck with a room with a terrible view and/,or not enough beds. The staff pretends to be all nice and sweet ... until they screw you and give you a lesser room. Then when you complain, they refuse to refund and turn super snakey. Don't trust this place. Some of the rooms have great views ... but whether you get that room you booked is another story. They ruined our whole stay in Laguna. At $400/night, we did not expect to have to sleep on sofas or cots. This is a 2-3 star hotel ... many of the rooms are 1 star. Unfortunately I paid for 3 stars and got 1. I'd never trust or stay at this hotel again. Total liars. read more

Amazing location, very clean and safe. The staff is super friendly, nice and always helpful. Good for those with kids or couples looking for a chill spot. Plenty of parking since they have a second lot. If you have a truck, it will be difficult to fit in a spot. Everything you want is within a 15 min walk. Breakfast is decent, but if you want something more 2 spots within a 2-3 min walk. Beach service only includes chairs and umbrellas - which is great. I wished they had a drink service on the beach even if individual cans for purchase. Overall 4.5 stars. read more

The view was nice enough but the room was awkward to move around with the bathroom down several steps ---for older individuals this could be very bad Very cheap coffee pot and paper cups for an ocean front room costing near $1000 is unacceptable. My partner who is use to staying in nicer hotels apologized to me later. He thought for the price he paid. It would've been much much nicer. It really should be given two stars but they often don't publish it if you do that Spend your money elsewhere. The staff were nice enough, but parking is tight. read more
