After a less-than pleasing sandwich experience at another restaurant earlier this week, I still had a sub sandwich craving which I doubted could be satisfied. Note to self- Capriotti's is Everything! I can't remember the last time I savored something so much. I got the Bobbie- turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo. Fabulous bread, shredded REAL turkey, REAL mayo (and the perfect amount), stuffing, and whole berry cranberry sauce. I officially died with the first bite. You have to wait a few minutes because they make each sandwich by hand. I'd wait for a half hour for this sandwich! Yum, yum, yum. A small was incredibly generous- I saved half. And, they have pink lemonade! Best nine bucks I've spent this week. Can't wait to try everything on the menu in good time! read more

I have been a yuuuuuuuge fan of Capriotti's since I discovered them in Vegas when I was attending UNLV. Their bread is a little too doughy for some, but I love it! Their Veg Turkey Sammies made me a loyal consumer many moons ago. TBH, this was probably my least favorite Capriotti's location in Reno. To me, this location always seemed a little dirtier, had less parking, more order mix-ups at the counter, and lesser service.... I would actually go out of my way to visit the Greg St location in Sparks because I preferred the service and cleanliness there. However, my last visit to the S. McCarran location was vastly improved from my previous visits! I love the new menu screen upgrade! On this particular visit, I brought my Mom, and she had a much easier time seeing the menu than on our previous visits. It is bright and well-lit with a larger font size than their old menu posted above the counter. The shop was cleanlier and friendlier as a whole, as well. I was most intrigued by their new Beyond Meat offerings, but wound up going for my standard (delicious and filling!) Veg Turkey Sub. Next time, Capriotti's, next time...With these service and cleanliness improvements, that "next time" is sure to be ever more frequent with this Renoite! read more

I ordered my sandwich on line like I always do so I can run over on my lunch and pick up quickly. Classic Italian with Extra Provolone. I ordered at 12:45 and received email stating it will be ready by 1:00. I show up at 1:05 and told they are just finishing it. (They have done this another time with a cheese Steak order) Twenty five, yes, 25 mins later, after I had to ask how much longer for my sandwich, was told they were just wrapping it up again, I finally get my sandwich. 40 mins to make a cold sandwich is ridiculous. I didn't get my extra provolone that I paid for either. Customers who walked in while I was there and ordered at the counter, received their food before I did. There were 3 people working and the girl at the counter was not friendly at all. Was rude when I asked her about how much longer, and even made a comment to her boss that she was going to walk out. I LOVE Capriotti's normally, but will definitely not be going back to this location. Someone with management experience needs to go in and train the employees how to prioritize orders and do it in a timely fashion or you will lose more customers. read more

When it's good, it's pretty great, but when it's bad, it's nearly inedible. My BF loves the Bobby and I always go for the tuna sandwich. This used to be our main sandwich spot (at least once a week), but the quality is too hit or miss to go often anymore. When I get the tuna and it's made correctly, I'd give it a 8/10. But I've had a handful of occasions where I receive what looks completely different from any tuna I'd gotten from Cap's previously and instead looks like something from the deli section of Walmart. Just gross. Also side note, are they not capable of heating or toasting the sandwiches? There's no option to select it online, and last time I went in and ordered and asked the guy multiple times to have it toasted, I still ended up with an ice cold tuna sandwich. Kind of frustrating that every time I'm wanting a tuna from them I have to preheat my oven to toast it myself. If I'm up for the trouble of knowing there's a 50/50 chance I'm going to get a gross sandwich and have to toast it myself, then I'd go back but most often I go to other sandwich spots now unfortunately. read more

I am amending this review a little because of a couple things lately. 1. I am allergic to pork and I cannot find a meatball actual ingredients list anywhere for you guys (Yes there is a health guide thing but it has no basic ingredients) I have tried writing corp for one but they are slower at responding than my wish for a meatball. I love the meatball and I risked it today because of this lol. I will either try to peel my skin off in an hour or not :( 2: If I order online: And I think the guy had real intent to serve me better by waiting till I am in the building to throw it together to not get soggy...I know it will be that way and I order online to save time...Just a point of note. The sandwich will be fine soggy :) I was in a hurry and was there an extra 10 minutes which made me miss an appointment. It is a small thing but if we do not communicate then we see things from different angles. I still thank you for considering the soggy though. Now that being said...The customer service intent was on point and if this is the worst of it...I will soon know if the meatballs have pork in them and the staff wants to please and for that I am pleased. The owner and coporate actually care and try to keep a staff that does as well. That keeps me coming back as you all handle my food. I would like to thank you for this as I've had run ins with Jack in the Box and Burger King...I try not to eat their food anyway (because nobody cares). When I reach out, I like to know I am heard (Not because I need power in my life...I have plenty...But because I want good food and a resonable trade experience. And with you I get that. With them I got the finger pretty much and ignored. The reason you get my $ and they do not. In fact I am writing this more as a letter because I know you actually review these and make small changes. I will also try to keep giving high scores for a job well done and nudge those stars as you guys are worth it and have my loyalty. Great business. read more

I love coming here during my lunches. They are normally very busy and you have to wait a while for your sandwich. I don't mind, since I'm obsessed with The Bobbie! Thanksgiving in a sandwich! I used to make my own sandwich after thanksgiving with the leftovers- turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry. This is just as wonderful! The Bobbie has turkey, stuffing, and cranberry! It's sooooooo good and I've always enjoyed the way they make it! I should really try the other sandwiches because they also look delicious. Staff was hard at work when we got there.. there was sweat dripping from the cooks faces and all.. which to be honest.. I understand but me understanding did not stop me from still feeling a little grossed out Ordered food non the less! Tried a signature sandwich, The Bobbie. I was all about the flavor combo in this sandwich but sadly it was too dry for me. The turkey needed some support in this sandwich. Biting into it you got a mouthful of dry, cold, day old shredded turkey. If it had contained more of the cranberry sauce and created a better balance when bitten into, I would be recommending this sandwich in good conscious. Babe ordered a Capastrami, I tried it... andddd the pastrami was tender, the sauces were well blended, and the coleslaw mixed in was an awesome addition. Love this place. The food and service is always consistent and good. The workers are energetic and very attentive. The sandwiches are tasty and the salads are always fresh. The dining area does get quite full around the noon hour, so just be prepared for that. I'm hoping to write a GOOD review soon, but this isn't it. I seem to have very little luck with delivery food. Prior to this, only two of my three salads showed up with a delivery order from Capriotti's on Plumb Lane, so this time I switched to their Kietzke location. Ordered from their website and added special instructions to each one of three sandwiches for them to "TOAST THE BREAD VERY WELL...MAYBE DOUBLE TOASTED?" Tried calling them several times after I placed the order to make sure they'd see my notes, but they weren't answering their phone. All the food I ordered arrived this time. (Yay!) The salads were good. The two small (5") sandwiches had the right ingredients, but NONE of the bread had been toasted on any of the sandwiches. (Someone told me they automatically toast bread on chicken sandwiches, but these weren't chicken.) The third sandwich, the big (18"), expensive ($22), and usually delicious cheesesteak sandwich was a disaster. Far from delicious like ones I'd had at Plumb Lane, this one had plenty of meat and some grilled onions and red peppers, but there were no mushrooms, and I could find almost no cheese at all. Without cheese, the sandwich was horribly dry. On top of that, at each end of the sandwich, there was 2" of nothing but white (untoasted) bread with no filling at all! At least the ends had a little bit of that cheese I'd been trying to find! Love this place. The sandwiches are larger size. So get a small if you get a medium. Get a medium if you normally eat a large. And get medium and split it if you normally get a small. Get that? Anyway. Love the Bobbie and the Cheesesteak with the works. I also love how they have those little Bundt cakes as well. A few down sides. You order...stand around...THEN pay. Me no like this system. While I am standing around with my thumb in my bumb...lemme pay ya. Friendly people behind the counter here for me. Will I go back? Of course! It's a complete meal night! If I could put a 0 I would. We've been coming to Capriotti's for years. We will not be back. Sandwiches were flavorless, my husbands $12 had no Mayo or mustard, no oil/vinegar, no salt or pepper. Meat, cheese and a few pieces of lettuce, a sprinkle of three pieces of onion and a sad looking piece of tomato, no Italian seasonings. My sandwich was just ok, the turkey might have been from last week. In the past we've always favored Capriotti's. The topper was that there was no iced tea, sodas, only over priced water and Gatorade. The employees were barely awake and not very pleasant either. I wish I had gotten pictures. As a frequent traveler thru Reno sometimes I need to grab something quick to eat in the car on the way home, but as an appreciator of good food I want that something quick to also be something good. This is where Capriotti's consistently saves the day! While it's true this might appear to be a more expensive sandwich choice ($7 for most 9" small, $9 for most 12" medium, $13 for most 20" large - but note, a large EASILY feeds two hungry adults) it's also a great deal of food for that price, and delicious food at that. This is one of the very best "chain" sandwich choices you could ever make. They have a great variety of choices, from regular cold sammies like roast beef or turkey to really great vegetarian choices (Veggie Cheese Steak? hello! awesome!) and they've got some amazing hot subs - Grilled Italian, Cheese Steak, Homemade Meatball, Hot or Sweet Sausage, Eggplant Parmesan. I've had them all at one time or the other and they're all great. One of my personal travel-sammie favorites is "The Bobbie." ($6.75 sm 9", $8.25 med 12", or $12.50 lg 20") It's like enjoying a "left over T-day turkey sandwich," but ON Thanksgiving, not the next day! It's that fresh. They say the turkey is house-made and it sure tastes like it, and the cranberry sauce is out of this world (I think their grandmothers must be in the back, making it fresh each day) and don't get me started on the excellent t-bird stuffing. It elevates a really good sandwich to great! As I said, all their sammies are great, but the one I find myself ordering time and again is the Capastrami. ($7.75 sm 9", $8.75 md 12", $13.50 lg 20") It makes my travel time bearable to have fantasies about enjoying tender hot pastrami smothered in swiss cheese melting into incredible cole slaw drizzled with Russian dressing all on a fresh, long roll that was baked just that morning. I can never ever eat it all, and I can assure you, the leftovers are just as good as the fresh sandwich. I would gladly pay a little more for having a sandwich made with exceptional ingredients, and a lot of them. And besides, aren't you worth the best? I keep telling myself that I sure am, and I happily keep coming back and enjoying these great sammies time and time again. read more

1st visit - Cran-slam club no ham. I didn't pay attention to the 'club' title and the middle slice of bread was unnecessary. Price of $5.75 was a nice deal and the meat portion was VERY generous. 2nd visit - I had The Bobbie - which was a variation of the cran-slam but more traditional sub sandwich style - subtype bread, not sliced white or wheat and has stuffing. Good, but the cran-slam minus the middle layer of bread will be my choice next round. My fiance had the Steak cheesesteak - no mushrooms. Hot peppers weren't distributed well so one half had the kick she was looking for and the other came up a little too mild. Excellent flavor overall. She said she'd come back for it again - sooner rather than later. Bundt cake option was nice but i'm not a cream cheese fan so I didn't go for one. Good chip and beverage selection. read more

Grilled Italian sandwich with Italian grilled cuts, soft white bread and a balance of pickle, mustard, lettuce. Tasty. First time here for lunch. Was attracted because of the capture 2 feature, soup and salad, sandwich and soup or salad. Tried the grilled Italian and the tomato bisque. $8.81 for the two. When I ordered the sandwich, I understood the onions were fried, instead they were sautéed. Other than that, the flavors were there. A good portion for lunch. Sandwiches are so good. But I think by far this is one of a few best sandwich places in Reno! The facility is clean and fresh smelling. All you can smell is sandwiches being made. One great thing about this place is they bake their bread fresh. The down fall is they are so good that when we went this last time they were out of their bread. All they could make was the other items that didn't require bread. Oh well there's always the next visit. By then it will be more delicious but waiting for that sandwich I can sink my mouth into;-) Their Italian sub is mouth watering good! The restaurant here is clean and clutter free. I've come here a few times now when I am seriously craving a good, juicy cheesesteak. Over the weekend, though, we ordered some sandwiches to go, and this time, I stepped out of my Capriotti's comfort zone and got a Capistrami instead (and also because I can't get pastramis out of my brain since Steve T on Yelp started a thread on it). I ordered a medium, and when it was handed to me, still in its tight paper wrap, still emanating warmth, and smelling oh so good, I immediately started DOL - drooling out loud. Oh lordy, lordy, was that sucker good. Their version of cole slaw with the pastrami was appropriately sweet, not drowning the sandwich, and the pastrami was good and salty and bursting with flavor. Not exactly the NEATEST sandwich to eat, but it was good enough that I surreptiously licked my fingers when no one else was looking (which no one was, because all my friends were too busy making groaning noises and eating their own sandwiches to pay any attention at all to me). I had to force myself to only eat half of my medium sandwich so I could save the other half for later on. It was that good. read more

I first had Capriotti's when I was in Vegas playing ball in college. I had a coach make everyone get the Bobby (their Thanksgiving sandwich) and I was skeptical... but it was absolutely amazing. It's my go to every time I stop by but honestly, all of their sandwiches are amazing. I'm a huge fan of the Philly as well. I'm a mayonnaise whore and I always ask for extra mayo with my Bobby. It's a little dry sometimes, and the extra side of it always helps! For a chain, Captiotti's is great! I'm glad they are opening more locations in Utah as well :) Check it out! read more

Staff was very helpful with the wife's and myself's selections this evening. We are first timers from Michigan. I had read an article in the Kalamazoo Gazette awhile back and knew we would be going through Reno, decided to give it a whirl. I eventually chose the Bobbie and the wife had the Capastrami. You get great value for your dollar. The nine inchers were too large for use old timers. The breads used to construct the behemoths were creamy and fresh. The Bobbie was last Thanksgiving all over again. Cranberry relish,Turkey,Mayo and Dressing in a sub sandwich, just unbelievable. The Capastrami could have only been improved with a dark rye or pumpernickel. If you ever are in Reno you have to give this place try. It is not that difficult to find. i love capriotti's. I've been to this location twice now and haven't been disappointed. So, you walk in, order, wait, get your sandwich, and then pay. It's a little interesting that you wait for your sandwich prior to paying. Anyhoo, once the sandwich gets in my hands, I could care less. Haha. I love anything and everything turkey here...everything on it...no mayo...add mushrooms. They put a mixture of sweet and hot peppers which are delicious. The sandwiches are also huge! A small is enough to feed 2 people...but the medium is the way to go. My favorites so far are the cole turkey and the hot Italian....delish! And...the prices are super cheap for what you're getting. read more

This is a really nice little sandwich shop that's part of a national chain. We tried The Bobbi and a very nice Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. The Bobbi is Thanksgiving dinner on a HUGE baguette. The turkey is fresh and the dressing is copious! I'd have liked a little less dressing and a little more cranberry... The Philly Cheese Steak was oooooey-goooey and yummie. Prices are about average for this style lunch place and the folks behind the counter are fun and friendly. Although the food was good and the service was fine, the portions sizes are HUGE!!! We ended up here by accident, but it was sure a good thing we did. I got the Bobbi which has pulled turkey, cranberries and stuffing. It was delicious! No wonder it is famous! The bread was fresh and delicious. The portions are filling, the smaller one is 9" in think. My husband got the tuna sandwich and loved it! He shared it with our son who is picky but he even thought it was great. We also got a tortilla soup which was full of yummy vegetables and just the right amount of spice. The prices are reasonable.
