All bartenders and servers were very skilled and customer service oriented, Even Coast probably needed one server more or something as it got full by 3 as the hostess had told me. Love the art deco mermaid pins the female staff wore, plus other unique thought out accoutrements. We like to share plates and loved everything we had! The oysters, burrata, smoked clam chowder, yellowtail curd, smoked salmon dip with homemade potato chips, and the fried cod, frites and Cole slaw. I don't enjoy salmon, but thought we'd try the dip. It didn't turn me into a salmon lover, but he thought it was pretty good. I got the bucatini and it was delicious. Great chunks of crab. I was pretty full so took most of it home....it did not reheat as well as I would've like. But, it's a cream sauce, so that's expected. He got the tagliatelle. He also enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't get it again. He just wasn't blown away. Just a lot of little things that would make me drive down the road rather than come back.

We come here often, usually on Saturday or Sunday mornings right when they open at 11:30 AM. The food has always been amazing, which keeps us coming back. However, our visit today at 5:45 PM was disappointing due to the service. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, we waited 15 minutes just to be seated. Since we already knew what we wanted, we ordered immediately upon sitting down. Unfortunately, service was slow and inattentive. We decided to order an additional 1/2 lb of sausage and, later, a separate 1/2 lb of shrimp. When the bill arrived, we were shocked to see an $8.95 charge for sauce--more than the $7.95 cost of the sausage itself. There was no prior warning about this charge. When I questioned the server, he insisted he had informed us, which was not the case. I escalated the issue to the supervisor, who said he would speak to the server. In the end, he claimed to have consulted his "manager" and adjusted the charge by crediting it against our extra shrimp order. The food remains consistently excellent, but the service tonight was frustrating. Lack of communication about pricing and inattentive staff took away from the experience. We also noticed another table nearby complaining about service. We love the food, but the restaurant needs to improve its service and transparency about extra charges. read more

Food: The seafood was pretty fresh. I ordered the snow crab broil and some raw oysters. I first discovered Cap't Loui back in Georgia, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots for crawfish. The flavor, the seasoning, the freshness, everything was just perfect. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was when I found out they had a location right here in Carrollton! I recently stopped by, and it was just as incredible as I remembered. The crawfish is absolutely delicious and the lemon pepper fries are the ultimate complement to the crawfish. It's a must try side dish. Unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Our order was brought out incorrectly, but the waitress was kind, attentive, and tried to make it right. However, when this escalated to needing a manger, the manager did not even come out and speak to us. It was frustrating that the person in charge did not understand when to intervene. A good manager should be willing to communicate with customers to resolve issues. The waitress deserves credit but the managers behavior ruined the experience. I hope this restaurant takes the feedback seriously to improve how customers are handled in the future. read more

This could be just my anxiety, but I felt like we were treated a little bit less warmly by some of the staff than other tables. For example, a manager of some type was walking the floor. He stopped at the table before us and checked in on them, skipped us and went to the table after us and checked in on them, and then only on his way back to wherever he was going, he stopped reluctantly and acknowledged us. It definitely made me feel like we were not as welcome as the other tables. Second, I don't like the inclusion of the picanha for the higher price (vs. what they were doing before which was an upcharge if you wanted the steak), because the protein that I like at Casa Pollastro is the chicken. I don't really love their steak and do not want to pay $10pp more for it. Lastly, what I had loved about this restaurant in the past was that it felt like I was enjoying a meal at a family home, served with love and care. I think that they've made some changes which are smart for a restaurant, but it took away a lot of the warm and fuzzies for me. It felt like they're trying really hard to be a high-end restaurant but what I remember from this last experience was coldness and putting profit first. Now I can't be mad if they want to grow up as a restaurant and this is just part of the growing pains, but I will mourn the loss of the experience that we loved so much that we chose to have our engagement party at this restaurant. We will not be back.

I've only ever had seafood boils ordered by my family when I was younger, so this was a first for me as an adult. The decorations were cute and sea themed. We got the #4 that comes with King Crab, shrimp, sausage, potato, and corn with the RC Kick sauce with medium spice level. 10/10. Only note would be for them to poke holes in the potato so the inside can get soaked in that perfect sauce, but no complaints when I can just rip it and let it sit for a second. I love the full bar & all the supplies to eat with. Will definitely be back. :)

It takes longer to order correctly at the front, can't imagine how long it would wait when there is a line. Servers bring your drink but don't check on you. So the concept of dining in is a little confusing. They are nice but need to be asked. Don't be shy to ask for service.

What set this restaurant apart from other restaurants is the service. My family of 7 with children of 2 and under were seated pretty quickly. The waitress recommeneded cuisine that accommodates both the babies and adult, which I really appreciate. The waygu beef and crab soup dumplings were authentic as it gets as the broth was very savory and had plenty of fillings. The filet mignon beef was so tender that we wanted to order another plate. But the main show of the dinner was the spicy sichuan chicken. The balance of spiciness and tenderness was perfect. And when you pair it with their signature cocktail, it elevates to another level. We had the white lotus which is a good mix of tartness and sweetness. I would definitely come back here again with my friends to try other dishes. If you're tired of restaurants claiming to be "authentic chinese cuisine", this might be the place for you!

Call ahead to reserve your duck with your reservation. We were seated quickly on a Friday night with no wait at 6:00 pm. Definitely a nice dinner destination and wow factor if someone likes roasted duck.
