The level of unprofessionalism here is unbelievable. After putting a significant down payment and making our payments, our car was suddenly repossessed and we were given conflicting information about where it was located. Our personal belongings were removed from the vehicle without our consent, and several items have not been accounted for. This is extremely concerning. Our experience with Paul from Car World made everything worse. He was very unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful throughout the process. At one point, when we were simply trying to get clear information about our car and belongings, he told us we were "talking too much" and that he was tired of listening to us. He also told us the car was located in Eagle Rock, but we were able to confirm through a phone left inside the vehicle that it was actually in Hawthorne the entire time. That kind of misinformation is unacceptable. We were given one set of expectations, drove all the way out, and were then suddenly told payment had to be made in cash only. This was never clearly communicated beforehand and added to the confusion and frustration. This situation feels extremely shady and possibly illegal. There was no proper communication, no inventory of our belongings, and no accountability. I would strongly advise anyone to be cautious before doing business here. To anyone who stated that this place was trying to charge $2500 "MANDATORY" charge for the LoJack anti theft device. They are lying to you. "Particularly with respect to theft-deterrent devices, dealerships may try to convince you otherwise. Devices like LoJack are generally pre-installed on vehicles that are available for sale at a dealership. A dealership might try to convince you that this means you're required to pay for it. This is not true. When you agree to purchase LoJack, you are paying to activate the pre-installed device. Despite what the dealership might tell you, you do not have to pay for the unactivated device." If they told you that. What could improve? Their whole business model. They advertise decent to great looking cars for very low prices to get you in, then they won't even show you the car until they run your credit to see what they can get out of you. But that's not the worst part. Its at that point that they tell you that a $2,500 tracking device is going to be added to whatever price they had advertised. For example: the car I saw advertised was like $1,800, but now it was going to be $4,300. So, I explained we didnt need the tracking device bc I could pay in full, including tax/license, etc. But when you add $2,500 to it I could no longer pay in full - I'd have to finance. He just looked at me like he didnt understand and said they are their own bank and that's why they do the trackers in all cars. I explained that I understood the issue but if they didnt put the device, that I wasn't interested in buying, on the car then I could pay in full, hence it wouldn't be needed. But that if I purchased the car with the device Id have to finance to afford the device that tracks me to make sure I make my payments on the device. This has to be illegal. I just haven't had the time to look into it. Proceed with caution. These guys are garbage. If I could rate negative stars, I would. They suck. First I was harassed several times via phone and text about coming down to see the car which would be an hour away from me so every time someone called me about coming down I would tell them that my credit is extremely low right but I'm building and I do not have a lot to put down at this time but they INSISTED "oh just come down, we will help you" I said I don't want to waste my time or your time but they kept pushing me, I gave in smh. Found a car online that seemed too good to be true. I made an appointment to see it anyway, to find out what the issue was. Turns out, the car hadn't passed inspection and was immediately returned to the auction it was purchased from. They knew which car I was interested in when I made the appointment, so why didn't they inform me of the car's status then? As I was leaving the dealership, I received a text from them trying to get me to come in to see that car--the car they had just told me they no longer had. Furthermore, I was informed while there that ALL OF THEIR CARS have an additional $2,500 obligatory LoJack system installed. Meaning any car you find from them online is listed at least $2,500 less than they're actually going to charge you. I purchased my Hyundai Veloster April 1st, 2025. It was exactly what I was looking for and listed at $13,900. I worked with ET to purchase the car and that was a delightful experience. He was kind and not like many of the shady car salesman that you would expect at this type of dealership. Unfortunately, the price listed on the website did not include the $2500 markup that they charge for a theft system that you are required to pay since they install it on all of their cars. That still was not a dealbreaker for me so I continued with the sale, but please be aware of that before coming to this location. My car required 2 fixes and the dealership ended up fixing them. Everyone was a pleasure to work with EXCEPT (emphasis on except) the service guy at the desk when you go back. His name begins with an N and he appears to be middle eastern. He is confrontational and has a very nasty attitude. The first time I came in to attempt to get the repairs done was on a Tuesday (the day and time we agreed on) at 9:30. I arrived at 9:37 and he gave me attitude for being late... just to tell me to come back Thursday because the technicians only work Thursday and Friday. A waste of time.. I came back Thursday and got the repairs done and still had a negative interaction with him. Please get this man some customer server training ASAP. I gave one star and that was too much. I found an ad online of a vehicle from Car World which had an unbelievable price, so I gave them a call. I spoke with a guy name Jordan to confirm the price. First he checked to see if the car was still available and according to Jordan, it was and then he confirmed the price. He did not mention additional charges. Two days later, I went to visit the dealership and I asked for Jordan. Come to find out, Jordan is from a third party call center. He didn't work for Car World. The salesman who approached me informed me that the car that I was inquiring about told me that there was an additional $2500 for a GPS system. I told him that I didn't want it and I can get my own system. Then he told me that it came with the GPS system and they are selling it with it. It made no sense. I asked to speak to a manager and he reinforced what the salesman told me about adding an additional $2500. He also mentioned that the car may have been already sold. I was so done at that point. I traveled over 30 miles and spent an hour getting there to cash out on a car only to find out that it was a worthless trip. So if you are planning to go to Car World, don't call because it wouldn't matter if you do call, because you won't be able to talk to an actual employee. Since I live 1.5 hours away, I asked them to email the breakdown before making the drive. That's when they disclosed a mandatory $2,500 fee for a GPS tracker. I already have my own GPS tracker that I can transfer between vehicles, so I asked them to remove it. They refused.
