Carlo's Pizza is a new family pizza joint in East Cobb. It's not really "new" as the owners have been making pizzas for a while and have operated elsewhere in the city before relocating to this place. Since the shop is in the shopping center with Publix, there's plenty of space for parking. Even then, parking shouldn't be a huge issue as this is mainly a take-out place. You can order online, phone, or in person. The pizza comes in two sizes (12" or 18"), but there are no pre-made specialty pizzas. The base is just cheese, and you can add up to 3 toppings. I ordered on a Monday night for an 18" pizza (half meatball, other half extra cheese) with the meatball Appetizer. The order was ready for pickup in 20 minutes. Overall, the pizza was great! It's a classic boardwalk type pizza with thin crust with generous amount of cheese and toppings (although not overpowering). It's a good balance between the bread, sauce, and toppings. The meatball appetizer was great too with a good amount of sauce for the garlic bread. The inside of the meatball was tender and not overcooked. The size of the meatballs is a bit small for the price though. The garlic bread was also a bit salty even though it had a good amount of garlic flavoring. This is a great place to check out if you're in the area. The price can be a bit high (especially if you're adding multiple toppings), but the quality is worth trying. read more

First time and what attracted me first was they have 100 health score and also how its so hard to find a close to an authentic Philly hoagie. I was a little hesitant when I saw the price, but small businesses are trying to hang in there. I am glad I did get it. Bread soft and fresh, seasonings are key to a hoagie and it was on point. I was born and raised in Philadelphia which means one thing, I know great pizza! I grew up vacationing in Wildwood as a kid, so when I read that was the origin story for Carlo's I was immediately optimistic that this Jersey family knew what they were doing and they did not disappoint. I walked in and ordered a slice (something you cannot do at most pizza places in Atlanta). When I saw the slice with the grease sitting on top and the crust baked to perfection, I knew I was in for a treat. The slice melted in my mouth and instantly transported me back home. My only regret is that I live all the way on the other side of town from you. Thank you for making this East Coast girl very happy! read more

FINALLY!!!!!! Everything about Carlo's brings me back to NY and summers on the Jersey Shore! The pizza is perfection....right down to the spine when I folded my slice (IYKYK), the salads are fresh, the meatballs are a chef's kiss, and the fried Oreos are even better than the ones on the boardwalk! I wish I had taken a photo of the artichoke appetizer but we ate it too fast ...Next time though! Finally a place nearby with good authentic pizza! This is Jersey pizza... thin chewy crust with just the right sauce:cheese:topping ratio. We had the 18" pepperoni and sausage (it was huge!) and a 10" spinach and mushroom. Both were great! I'm giving this review 4 stars because of a technicality with the desserts. The apple cake was good--slightly heavy on the cinnamon. Unfortunately I was only able to take one but of the cannoli cake, which unbeknownst to me was soaked in a liqueur. We ordered our food through Door Dash, so the menu did not have any descriptions, and I did not know there was alcohol in the cake. This is probably not an issue for many, but for a recovering alcoholic like myself, this could potentially prove dangerous. So my minis one point is only because I wish the word "liqueur" was somewhere in the dessert title or on the door dash menu. Anyway--will definitely order pizza from here again. It is an authentic pizza joint with employees and owners intentionally putting a high quality pie in a box. We have had take out from there 8 or 9 times once we discovered it. I know this number because there is a coupon printed out box that once you collect 10, can be redeemed for a free cheese pizza. We are this close out the house. We aren't an adventurous topping family- we have ordered pepperoni, cheese, and black olive/pineapple pizzas. All though, there are salads, hoagies, and desserts on the menu. We did receive a complimentary order of cannolis once as a customer service gift. And, we did receive a discount once when the pizza wasn't ready when we arrived to pick it up. Again, fabulous customer service and prideful employees. This is our top place to go and we tell friends about it. You need to check it out, too! read more
