Carmen y Juan is a lovely, small restaurant with a great vibe owned by... Carmen y Juan. This is my fourth visit and I have never been disappointed. Today, Cinco de Mayo, my husband and I ate on the patio, which is all decked out for the holiday. I had Barbacoa estilo Sonora. ! Que rico!! And a margarita with Casa Amigos anejo. Wonderful! The best margarita I've ever tasted! Even with a huge crowd, service was fantastic!

The best salsa in this state! I literally drink it! We love the drinks, the food, and the amazing staff. We always come here for authentic, delicious food!! It has just a great, down to earth atmosphere!

Carmen y Juan's puts so much love into their food. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I wanted to try some new things so I asked for recommendations and I was not disappointed. We started off with some stuffed jalapeños and they were fantastic (and really spicy!). We also ordered homemade chips and salsa, chicken enchiladas, shrimp tacos and a dish with poblano peppers with rice. Everything was hot and well-packaged and ready for me when I picked it up. At home, we made a pitcher of margaritas and had ourselves a delightful Mexican feast! If you haven't tried Carmen y Juan's yet, you're definitely missing out on authentic Mexican cuisine.

The prices are also super reasonable, which makes it even better. I've tried the carnitas, shrimp, asada, and the queso. The shrimp taco is hands-down my favorite--so flavorful and perfectly cooked! If I had to pick one thing to skip, it would be the queso. It just didn't hit the mark for me. Overall, this is an easy, tasty go-to spot that I'll definitely keep coming back to!

From the moment we approached the truck, the smell was intoxicating--spices, smoky meats, and fresh ingredients. The menu had a fantastic variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesadillas, and everything sounded mouthwatering. My husband decided to go with the carne asada burrito, and let me tell you, they didn't t disappoint him...He said that the asada was perfectly seasoned and the meat was tender and juicy. I ordered the veggie burrito with fries. Both were absolutely tasty, fresh and not greasy at all. We will definitely be back for more next time we stay in Mount Pleasant. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the service throughout our lunch was attentive and welcoming. Everyone at our table loved their meals -- burgers, fries, and sandwiches all around with rave reviews. I ordered "The Bird," and it was absolutely delicious: perfectly cornmeal-breaded with a crispy fried crunch on the outside while staying incredibly moist and flavorful inside. Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Watching kayaks, paddle boards, and boats pass along Shem Creek while enjoying lunch was the perfect backdrop for a celebration. This has definitely become a new favorite spot for our group!
