We stopped here about 5 hours into a 7 hour road trip. Got a reservation through yelp, (that was so helpful) arrived about 10 min early, so we had to wait for a short bit. We got lucky with parking, as someone was leaving just as we pulled in. The place was packed, and it was a little loud. Most normal people could probably have a conversation, but my family has low voices, so we said what, alot. Nikki was our server, and I think she was working 10 tables or more! Somehow she still managed to stay on top of our drinks and check in as the meal progressed. We all agreed that the food was very good. However a few things were outstanding. My hubby thought the Limon Surf and Turf was very different, and he loved it. I loved the potatoes. Great flavor and texture. My kiddo enjoyed the ravioli, and she was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. My special had perfectly cooked asparagus, and the pasta side was also something I would recommend. The one thing I would have liked to see is an upgrade in the coffee offered. We love a good americano after a nice meal.

We live in the neighborhood, and decided to walk down for Brunch this Sunday. Everything was fabulous we walked right in, got served drinks right away! I had a Mimosa with orange juice + an Irish Coffee both 10/10! I had the Hilltop Omelette, and my fiancé had the Steak Hash I cannot tell you how amazing both were. We ordered a pancake with a side of fruit, and sausage for our 2 year old Daughter she was a fan. We will plan a night for dinner next as I would like to try the Lobster Risotto + Arancini!

Came in again to find an updated menu. Love some of the new choices. It was all so good that we forgot to take pictures. One of the newer items we loved was the risotto filet. The steak was So tender and delicious. The risotto was a mushroom saffron and had amazing flavor. We also had some of our old favorite like the ribeye, shrimp appetizer, and carpaccio. Tiramisu made in house. So good. Service was great as always. Such a clean and well designed space. Always love coming here and will be back soon.

Two ribeye steaks, one with a potato the other with pasta. Both awesome.

When you walk in the restaurant has exposed brick some older architecture, it's a larger space which helps conversation because you don't feel like you're on top of the next table. The food was excellent, ribeye and pasta were great. Service also matched the vibe, wait staff was attentive, professional, and had great energy. Loved this place!

I came here for a brunch since I'd only had it once before but remembered it was so good. This time, I sat at the bar (got there a little after 10:30), so there was ample space. I was immediately given water and a drink and food menu. I had an idea of what I wanted (steak hash) but also wanted to try the biscuits because I remembered them being so good. When I inquired on getting a single biscuit, she said that wasn't an option and suggested an alternative method. I still got the hash but ended up getting a side of sourdough instead. Drink wise, I went with a pineapple mimosa. Sitting at the bar does have its perks, aka, I got my drink rather quickly. She was quite generous with the pour and it always makes a difference when there's more champagne than juice. After a short while, my food arrived and once it was put in front of me, I knew I made the right choice. While I don't see it often, I thought it was cool how they had my steak labeled with how it's supposed to be cooked. It's a small detail that often gets overlooked, especially when it comes to steak. The dish itself was perfect except holy potatoes! I don't think I've ever seen so many come with a dish! I woofed down my eggs per usual and savored each bite of my perfectly cooked steak. The combination of the that, plus the 1 1/2 pcs of toast left very little room for the potatoes. I couldn't have been more impressed with the stellar service, the great food, and how friendly the bartender was. I'll for sure be back

We stopped here for brunch on Father's Day, so it was pretty busy. Fortunately, we had a reservation. The service was slow for us, but we weren't in a hurry. A lot of the local brunch places are like that, and that's usually fine, because it gives us a chance to visit. I'm not usually a steak person, but I thought the steak hash was pretty good. My friend also enjoyed the steak and eggs. They don't have quite the variety of some other brunch places, so you'll definitely want to check the menu to see if it's the right fit.

Early Anniversary dinner!! Decided to try a Steak Place on The Hill. The place is very happening and busy! The Lemon Drop Martini was one of the Best I have had! The Arancini were good but a bit dry. The Wedge Salad is highly recommended!! Fresh and the dressing and Bleu Cream Crumbles with the Bacon!! Perfect! Me and the Hubby split the Bone in Ribeye and Carnivore Potatoes. Very good.

The food and service were great. I had the steak sandwich cooked medium to perfection. Hubs had the chicken Parmesan. We had toasted ravs for appetizer. They lost one star for the pasta. Any pasta served on the Hill should be the bomb.com. The pasta was very bland.

Carnivore was less enjoyable than expected because the side dish of Carnivore Potatoes in olive oil butter garlic sauce topped with parmesan was my favorite dish that evening. Yes, the service was good and our server did check up on us. Yes, the restaurant was clean and the window view was appreciated. But, I was expecting one of the main dishes to be my favorite which was the 8oz Filet Mignon or Chicken Risotto - (grilled chicken sauteéd with sun-dried tomatoes, asparagus, and white wine). The risotto didn't taste anything spectacular and the filet mignon was over cooked and chewy. I am an amateur smoker at home and if I can make meat taste better, then something could be improved by offering higher quality meat or the cooking process. The bread could've also tasted better and serving butter in a non-prepackaged container would've been a good start. The reservations through Yelp functioned as expected and we were quickly seated. I also like that Carnivore had a separate entrance dividing the bar from the sit down portion of the restaurant.

The service itself was great, everyone was polite and welcoming. Our waitress checked on us multiple times as well as others coming by to clear the table and offer boxes. The caesar salad was really good and I loved the texture of the homemade croutons; crunchy but so soft they could basically melt in your mouth. The potatoes were absolutely delicious and I wanted to love the steak but it just didn't seem to come out fresh it was almost room temperature like it may have been sitting there for a moment. The flavor was still there and it's my fault for not sending it back but I didn't want to deal with that. We also ordered arancini for an appetizer and that was delicious. I would go back just to try other items, they had a nice menu.

    Cheesecake

Everything was fine, but nothing like everyone rants and raves about . The chicken modiga flatbread didn't have "modiga" flavor . The tiramisu was so bland , almost a sin to have that in the hill. It was like the lady fingers weren't even soaked it was just a layered cake. The ambiance was weird , I feel like they could have a different seating arrangement and make it seem a little nicer for a "steakhouse" . The only things we really enjoyed was the pasta and the cheesecake .

Service: We were sat in the Bourbon room, I'm not sure I'd choose this again. There are 6 tables in there and the waiter has to go very far to get to the kitchen. We never saw him not moving but it seemed that all 6 of the tables were in a similar place of ordering good and drinks with two large groups. This meant we often had to wait awhile to place orders, get food and drinks and bread, had to ask a couple time for somethings. Perhaps better experience in main dining room where the waiters may be less hard worked or better if they staggered out the reservations in this room more. Our waiter was nevertheless very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks: We were very excited about the bourbon list, particularly the reserve bourbons. First, husband got the Garrison Brothers Single Barrel and me an Old Forrester 1920 in a mint julep. One disappointing thing for that was that the reserve bourbon pour was served in a huge glass with full to top with several restaurant standard ice cubes -- this meant the first sip was fantastic of this great bourbon but very soon the bourbon was very watery. We were shocked for a place like this to serve a high quality bourbon this way, often we enjoy this with one large square ice cube. Our next pour we got neat, which is what you need to do here. My mint julep on the other hand was great! Next we tried Blanters neat and Duckhorn from the Coravin system. Food: For the food we ordered the scallops to start, Hamilton farm greens, wedge salad and porterhouse to share with twice backed potato and seasonal vegetable. Potato bread was also provided with a garlic butter, it was delicious. Finished with a cheesecake. Everything was pretty good, nothing blew me away. Bread may have been my favorite given its uniqueness as a potato bread. The porterhouse was cooked fairly differently throughout the meat ranging from medium rare to well done, may be a challenge inherent to porterhouses. Twice baked potato was good and reminiscent of home cooking. Cheesecake was a nice finish with Dubai chocolate inspired toppings.

FLEMING'S STEAKHOUSE - BOO HISS!!!…read more My sister Fay and I decided to treat ourselves to an elegant meal at Flemings in Frontenac. My meal was $85 (8 oz hand-cut filet mignon with 6 oz North Atlantic lobster tail & warm drawn butter).  Fay ordered 8 oz hand-cut filet mignon and stuffed shrimp with sautéed spinach, parmesan‑crusted Campari tomato & port wine demi‑glace for $68, and we shared a side of sweet corn brûlée with a brown sugar crust for $18. First of all, the restaurant is not really elegant.  It's nice enough, but no real ambience to make you feel special.  I wonder if Flemings used to be elegant before the ownership stopped caring about providing the current clientele an uplifted experience. We requested that our waiter Will, prepare our starter salads (candied walnuts, dried cranberries, red onion, campari tomato) in to-go boxes so we wouldn't fill up before our entree.  He brought a loaf of OK sourdough bread to the table (for $6 more you could upgrade to Milkbread with Lavendar Honey butter).  It took an exceptionally long time for the boxed salads to arrive and they mostly looked like a box full of lettuce.  Very unimpressive.  When our entrees arrived, the corn brûlée was delicious, but the steaks were hardly seasoned, not as tender as I expected, and undercooked  - my medium was a little closer to rare.  They forgot to bring the drawn butter and the lobster tail was still RAW IN THE MIDDLE. I only told the manager who happened to be walking by that my lobster was still raw. We let the unseasoned undercooked non-melt-in-your-mouth steaks slide. When I showed him the lobster which I had already cut into a few pieces, the manager only offered to cook it some more. I thought he would replace it with a fresh fully cooked lobster tail. At first this yahoo, who had been walking around shaking other people's hands extended a napkin for me to place the lobster tail in for him to take to the kitchen.  I placed the lobster tail on a bread plate.  I also expected that he would adjust our check for the inconvenience. NOPE! While waiting for my lobster to cook some more, we overheard the table behind us complain to the waiter that their lobster was undercooked and their steak was less than tender.  The waiter offered them free drinks and free dessert, and I believe this older white couple settled on returning the food and not paying anything. I'm usually a stickler about providing a generous tip for the wait staff, but this time since the wait staff did nothing to improve our experience, we left a 10% gratuity along with a handwritten paragraph at the bottom of the check explaining why.  We weren't angry, just disappointed.  With drinks, tax and tip, we learned a $240 lesson about Flemings.

When we were debating which cuts to order, she delivered a detailed explanation of each one, and even brought a platter of them out for us to see. Definitely an upscale place, so budget for that. Here's what we got: Roasted Bone marrow: 8/10 - came with quite a few bones, and the marrow was rich and buttery. It truly was a melt in your mouth experience, and with the addition of the arugula and red onions on the side, it was lovely. Brussels sprouts: 9/10 - these had such a lovely flavor to them and the honey Dijon sauce was delicious. We prefer Brussels a little more charred but otherwise these were a hit. Garlic mashed potatoes with Boursin: 100/10 - SO good. Best mashed potatoes we've ever had. You HAVE to add the cheese, it's so worth it. They're ridiculously creamy, flavorful, and overall, just tasty. Broccolini: 7.5/10 - this was average. We wanted them charred a bit more and also more red pepper flakes. It mostly just tased like lemon, but it wasn't bad. Australian Wagyu filet: 8.5/10 - A cheaper version of Japanese Wagyu, this cut is super tender and delicious. But don't expect it to melt in your mouth like the Japanese ones. Snowbeef Wagyu 4oz: 10/10 - The beef just melted in my mouth. The marbling on this cut is exquisite and it is SO rich. You honestly don't need more than 3-4oz if you're getting sides. It's that rich. Overall, we definitely recommend this place. The mashed potatoes especially were enough to make us want to come back.

The food, interior, and service are top notch, and comes it the highest prices in the area. The menu focuses on steaks but the special menu offers additional seafood option. You can also order items from the 801 Fish restaurant across the street if red meat is not your preference. Complimentary loaves of sour dough bread were delivered to the table as we enjoyed our beverages. Crab Cake $27 - This was one delicious lumpy crab cake with succulent pieces of crab, big enough to share with two people. Down Home Shrimp $26 - 3 large pieces of shrimp on top of mouth watering mash potato like sauce that you want to lick clean. You can add on additional shrimp. Single Cut Prime Rib 16oz $66 - It was cooked perfectly medium rare and very tender. I didn't love that it sat in a pool of au jus, but was delicious. Brussels sprouts $15 - Large portion, more than plenty for 4 people. It was tender and very saucy. Garlic Mashed potatoes $16 - Semi-lumpy mashed potato with bits of skin. I was hoping it might be served with gravy similar to the shrimp sauce, but there was no companion. Cheesecake with blueberry sauce $16 - Large piece of cheesecake, very rich and smooth. It was nice that the dessert selected by the birthday guest was complimentary. If you dine here and park in the lot behind 801 Fish, you can get your parking ticket validated at 801 Fish. The staff was very friendly and walked through the menu and all of the specials of the night. I liked their structure of ordering in courses. This is definitely a place to share your meal items and try a lot of things with your party. They also have a great drink menu and their espresso martini was especially tasty! I also loved their focaccia bread! We tried the brussels sprouts as an advertiser, which were very tasty.

If you can actually land a reservation, congratulations, you've won the Resy Olympics. A friend pulled some strings and got us in, which felt less like dinner and more like a heist. I went for the halibut special. It was a pesto vibe, flaky, and sitting pretty on a bed of couscous. It was giving coastal vacation energy in the middle of the Midwest. #stlouispescatarianapproved without hesitation. That said, is this all worth the reservation stress? For me, debatable. St. Louis is quietly stacked with spots that don't require a minor miracle to get a table. Now the pizzas were great. I took a few home and suddenly became the most popular person in the room. Certified crowd pleasers.
