Bought a new '22 1500 Big Horn from these guys back in January that was almost exactly what we wanted. With shortages everywhere we were happy with the way the truck was optioned, but we did reach back out after the sale to see about adding a remote start. James and Tom went above and beyond to take care of me and my wife. Tom was even able to arrange for transportation home and back to the dealership to pick up the truck when everything was done, AND the total came in under the original quote. This is just the beginning of a very long expected life with this truck and I look forward to dealing with this team again for future service and future vehicles. read more

As I sit out front of Carson City Dodge I'm writing this review... Scheduled appointment to fix my starter that was making grinding noises. Dropped truck off and they confirmed the starter was the issue. I called my extended warranty company and they confirmed it was covered. Gave CCD my extended warranty info. They called me back saying warranty would only cover 1.2hrs and they have 2.8 to do the repair. I told them this has to do with them and the warranty company not me. They wouldn't call the warranty company. I called the warranty company then 3-way called CCD where we spoke with Amy regarding the matter. The two went back and forth for a few minutes to find out Amy had the wrong VIN number for my truck so an additional service of 0.5hr was being called for that didn't exist on my vehicle, then claimed it would still be 2.3 hours. Warranty confirmed they only seen 1.2 in the book which is the same book CCD uses and CCD confirmed this over the phone but they wouldn't adjust their price. I spent over 4 hours dealing with CCD and my extended warranty and I finally decided to pay the difference of $489.25 so I could get my truck back. I showed up to pickup my truck and as they were driving it out front I noticed a constant POUR of gas leaking out like crazy. Never did I have a fuel leak when I dropped it off. I immediately pointed this to their attention and I was told well we can sell you a new fuel filter and oring for $165 and install it to fix the leak. Are you kidding me. I said no and asked for a manager of course one wasn't here. I said what do you expect me to do the service advisor came out with a used oring and said this might fix it. I asked for a socket so I could check the fuel filter cap and oring and they refused to assist me in anyway. So here I sit waiting for my kid to bring me a socket and 3/8 ratchet all the way from Verdi so I can replace an oring that wasn't leaking to begin with when the vehicle was dropped off. I referred many people to CCD and I have always drove the extra miles for the service and customer service I received here. NEVER AGAIN... I'm absolutely blown away over this whole experience! Update my son showed up with the socket and 3/8 ratchet to find that the oring was completely fine, but somehow the fuel filter cap was loose 1/4 turn... Hmmmm not strange at all CCD - DONE! read more

We were dropping our jeep of for tomorrow's service appointment. I walked in to the service area and saw 4 or 5 employees at their desks. No other customers. Just me. After 5 min of no recognition, I said i was here to drop off my car. I was told it would be a few. Still no other customers. After 15 min I was told to bring the car up to service. 5 more minutes after that before anybody Acknowledged. I stood around for several more minutes waiting for anybody to do something. Eventually they wrote it up and let me leave. Never a happy face seen. It took more than 30 minutes for me to drop off our car the day before our appointment with no other customers in site. If this wasn't warranty work, I would have left after 15 minutes of being ignored. read more

In my personal recent experience, please do not purchase a Jeep without extensive research. We spent almost 60,000 on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Willy from Carson Dodge, Jeep only to find out that our 8-speed transmissions is faulty. Update as of 6.3. I spoke to the GM from Carson Jeep. He stated that although my email to him had stated our 76,000 easy driving Jeep had low miles for a transmission replacement, he disagreed. He stated 76,000 is not low miles for a transmission replacement. The replacement transmission they are selling us is good to 100,000 miles. This comment from the GM was surprising and I think people should be aware that this is the mentality of the dealership. Read the Jeep Forums and Blogs, 8 speed transmissions for many people are only lasting 20-30k miles. Lack of going into reverse, trouble shifting, hard shifting. Ours pooped out at a mere 76,000 miles with extremely limited off road driving on flat, non rocky dirt roads. Same issue. Jerking, won't switch into reverse, won't switch to higher gears. $8k expense to replace. Service is unhelpful and in my personal interpretation of correspondence, believes everyone should have $8 readily available for repairs with a low mileage vehicle. It's horrific that these vehicles are sold and then Jeep Service expects people to produce another $8,000. The replacement would be with the same possible faulty transmission. I am concerned the replacement transmission may keep happening based on Jeep blogs and forums. We can't afford to fix ours since we did not budget an extra $8,000 for the car when we only purchased a few years ago. The service manager and dealership, in my experience, does not care about their customers or people that have purchased from the dealership. The dealership is now offering a $2,000 discount for the transmission replacement, but the Service Manager emailed he didn't want to fix it since I had questioned the need to replace it, so the discount is mute. I am also thrown thrown by the GM comments this morning about it not being low miles for a transmission replacement. He also stated during the call that he doesn't want to fix it either, so the discount is irrelevant. At the end of the call he did state he would fix the car if I removed the review. We are trying to save up for this huge expense. I do not know many people that have a spare $6k sitting around (after discount). They are lovely when purchasing, but after that, my personal experience is that they do not care about you. Your experience may be different, but I would do my research. It may be extremely expensive if you don't. read more

I am beyond appalled with the "customer service and primary the service department", I had bought 2 brand new trucks within a year and a half of each other costing 135,000 and both of which are still well under warranty.. I had a "service transmission" light come on in my 2020 ram with 33k miles and I immediately called the dealership to schedule an appointment to get my truck serviced.. after nearly 3 weeks and me calling back weekly, I was told some would call me back to schedule an appointment and after the 3rd time I called the service department to vocalize the fact I had called 3 different times and had not even gotten a call back, the service department man on the phone replied to me "if I didn't like the service I was getting I could call somebody else".. I have never heard such an unprofessional response from someone that is involved in the "customer service industry".... I will be sure to never give this dealership my business ever again! So tomorrow I will go to the dealership tomorrow to actually get my service appt scheduled cause apparently that's the measure you need to go to in order to have your vehicle serviced and will be speaking with the manager and the gentleman that told me to go elsewhere.. read more

I took my jeep here a few months ago for a recall notice, and the bald guy in the service department was extremely rude, as was everyone else, and so slow. We've always bought our vehicles here and the sales staff is amazing but the service department is Horrible. The only person that was really friendly was the guy that drove me to my doctors appointment and then picked me up, he was really awesome he is the one that wears a hat. Service department could be a little bit nicer and not so damn grumpy all the time. I actually felt like you were doing them a disservice then them giving you good service. I had a recall on my Dodge Mini-van. It was a safety issue with the steering. I called the Dodge Service center in Reno and was told the earliest appointment was Nov. 28th. That is over 3 months away for a safety issue, that is unacceptable. We planned to go out of town in couple weeks and in no way would we drive this van. I called Dodge in Carson City and they got me in within 5 days. On the phone they told us it would take no longer than 2 hours but when we checked in early at 8:30 they told us 1 hour and 15 mins. so we decided to wait even though we did not have breakfast. The only reason they are not getting five stars is that it took 3 hours and it could have been longer if I did not alert them about the issue as the van was ready for some time. They get four stars for customer service and professionalism. They run the place like a nice oiled machine. We were totally impressed with how they checked in each vehicle and also how you checked out. Plus a driver kept offering his service to drive you to a location of your choice. This place is so much better than Reno Dodge that I will deal with them from now on and when ready for another vehicle, they may just get my trade. read more

To make a long story short dodge was offering 12k off on their trucks, so I decided to look at the 2018 ram diesels. I called Reno dodge and I had a horrible experience with the sales team there but over the phone with their 12k off we were in the ball park of where I wanted to be price wise. So like I said bad experience with the sales people in Reno before so I stop into Carson, figuring same dodge rebates. Anyways long story short the salesmen(Jason) told me Reno is lying the can't offer 12k off blah blah blah. And couldn't get me near what Reno was saying they could do the truck for or the prices I wanted Anyways went to fernley dodge, owned by Reno, the next day they said that was Carson's usual bs got em the truck I wanted well below what carson could do and I was in and out in about an hour and. A half. And the got me an interest rate lower then I found on my own and almost three percent lower then what carson could do. I give carson two stars because they were polite and very will to let me test drive and everything. But they sales person lacked integrity and their prices simply weren't the best. Oh, also, the truck I ended up buying had about 7 grand in factory option more then the truck cc dodge was trying to sell me. Scam. read more

In 3 car clubs and every single person that I know or have encountered has told me to stay far away from this establishment because of gouging on sales and over charging and under delivery of service. **updated: 11/4/19- Tom the service manager contacted me admitting it was their mistake and not only fixed it but upgraded my steering stabilizer due to the inconvenience it caused me. They also dropped off my vehicle to my wife so she didn't have to try and find a ride to pick it up. Thank you for making things right. So I have a 2015 Jeep Rubicon I bought new, have the extended warranty to 100,000 miles. First with in the first 20,000 miles I received a notice of a recall item in my manual transmission. My wife works in Carson so she drops it off to have it done, I get my Jeep back and have to drive it to Southern California for work. I get a few hours down the road and my shift knob comes off in my hands, I look at it and you can see the tool marks on the knob where the monkeys there broke my knob doing the transmission work. I bring it back show them and all they say is I can buy a new knob for $169.00. Fast forward to last week, I notice I have a front axle seal leaking so i wanted to get it in while I still have the warranty. I have my wife drop it at Carson City Jeep, which I should know better but due to my work and hers it's the most easy to get it into. We drop it off on Thursday, they call leave me a voicemail as I was busy at work and say it needs both seals done but it's under warranty. Ok know problem but it's my daily driver and my wife dropped it off on her way to work while I have her car, now she is out a ride so I call the service manager (Tom) twice leave messages that I need a loaner which is covered under the warranty. No response nothing back. So my wife gets a ride home has to take Friday off so I can have her car. I call at 1 in the afternoon to find out the status of my Jeep, finally after talking to different people to get ahold of the service manager (Tom) who says they are just finishing up and will call soon when it's ready. I finally get a call at 4 pm saying it's ready so I make arrangements to get it on Saturday. I pick it up and head to Reno as we have an event to attend. On the way up I notice the steering is shaking I pull over, don't see anything wrong. Continue up to Reno so I can get to my event, get home late and still steering doesn't fell right. Look at it Sunday and see they never put nuts on the steering stabilizer, so only thing holding it in is just the bolts no nuts. Call on Sunday, service is closed can't get a loaner, leave my Jeep at night drop, wife has to get a ride to work tomorrow absolutely no help from Carson city Jeep. They are a joke. Take your jeeps to Lithia in Reno have had no problems with them on other warranty work and they have no issue giving you a loaner. Beyond ridiculous. read more

I live 100 miles out of town and this is the closest dealership to me. The service department always seems too busy and over run to offer quality service. I use the express lane for oil changes and have never had a problem. Today I needed to speak to someone about warranty coverage because my alternator is going out. Tom was obviously too busy to discuss or help me determine if this is covered under warranty. He actually hung up on me after telling me would call me back. He never asked for vehicle or contact information so I am not expecting to actually receive a call back. My mom's jeep has been in for service for over five weeks. She and my dad originally purchased the lifetime warranty when they bought it new. This service department originally stated that it needed approval from the warranty company, then once that was acquired, we had to call them again to find out when it would be ready. They told us that they had everything but two parts which would take a week. With the storms, they were understandably delayed; however, they are now saying it will be almost two more weeks while we wait for an "open bay" before they can complete the service!!! Did I mention that my mom is 80yo and is borrowing our car for these six weeks because the warranty only pays $30/day on a rental for one week!?!?!? DO NOT USE this service department, communication is deplorable, timelines are outrageous, and we are yet to see how well they perform the service.... read more

They will be glad to sell you a vehicle, but when it comes to getting warranty work or service work done good luck My wife purchased a jeep from Carson Dodge Chrysler Jeep with an extended service warranty and a lifetime warranty on the vehicle. The liftgate on the jeep was not operating so we were told we would have to bring the vehicle in to have it diagnosed we did so and we're advised the liftgate ram. was not working it would need to be replaced. We were also told this would be covered under warranty and they would order the part a month later we called to check on the part and they said he had been lost and would have to re-order it a week after that we were called and told the part was in and we made an appointment for 10 o'clock on a Thursday the vehicle was brought in at 9:30 and we were told it would take 2 to 2 1/2 hours to replace the ram four hours later. We were told that they would need to keep the vehicle overnight because they were not able to start on the vehicle yet and it was a complicated process I asked why they were not able to start on the vehicle when we had an appointment at 10 o'clock. They said the appointment was to consult with the service advisor for the repair not with the vehicle was going to be worked on I was told by the service manager that they are very overwhelmed with business and cannot keep up and wished some of their customers would go somewhere else. we have had the same problem several times with this dealership they want to sell you the car but then when it comes to working on the vehicle under a warranty they put you in the back of the line and don't care about the customer service. The manager said they have a problem getting paid for warranty work, which leads me to believe they do put warranty work at the back of the line to keep the people who are paying at that time happy I think we will take his advice and find another Jeep dealership who cares about customer service read more

But when I got home I saw the they did not secure a coolant hose properly and it was resting on the exhaust. I had to make another appointment and drive another round trip from Reno. Went to check out a car last Saturday and I fell in love with it. When I came back from the test drive, Nathan was helping other clients. So the assistant there Mario, I think. He was tall, black hair, and wore glasses came out to inform me that Nathan was busy. Mario basically blew me off and told me to come back when I had my co-signer with me. I've been working with Maria who has been very helpful and we spoke about coming in on Monday to get my car appraised for the trade in. I arrived on Monday (today) and they appeared to be busy. I asked Mario if someone would help me and if I could get a mask. He said that he would see who was available and he'd be back with a mask. He came out several times and never once gave me an update or a mask. I was waiting in the parking lot for about an hour with no one to help me. The least he could have done is given me an update or told me to reschedule instead of ignoring me! It's been a terrible experience and sad since I really loved that car. read more

I received a recall notification for the water pump on my 2015 RAM diesel. Carson City Ram did the repair. However they removed the refrigerant and did not replace it. In April 2019 the weather finally warm-up and I tried my A/C, nothing but hot air. I took my truck to an independent automotive repair shop, Christensen's Automotive in Gardnerville, Nevada. They checked the system and found no leaks and no refrigerant. The R134A was completely empty. They replaced the refrigerant and the AC works properly. The AC worked perfect before Carson Dodge Ram did the recall, but not after. It seems to point to the mechanic that replaced the water pump or a lack of supervision and quality control after the water pump replacement. I have all the invoices to document this. read more

I brought my daughters Ram in for an engine diagnosis due to a check engine light that was on. I diagnosed it as cylinder 2 misfire before I brought it in and had also changed all plugs and coils. Another local mechanic told me it was likely a faulty PCM module which was still under warranty with Dodge. In the afternoon they called and told me that a tuner was installed on the PCM and that it had to be removed in order to test the PCM. I said to go ahead and pull it off. Their response was that it would take 2.5 hrs of labor to do that which would have been over $500. I said absolutely not. I picked up the truck and took it home. Removing the tuner took me 7 MINUTES and I'm not even a mechanic. TOTAL RIP-OFF ESTIMATE THEY GAVE ME. After I removed it I brought it in again. I was now told they refused to work on the vehicle because the PCM lock tabs were broken which has NOTHING to do with whether or not the PCM actually works or not. The PCM could still be locked in so ut was likely an excuse to not have to replace it since it was under warranty. Several other mechanics also say that they are a shady outfit. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIR UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!! read more
