Too hot on sauces ! No real great menu items , says American food on sign but I saw nothing American foods. We truly wanted Mexican foods and went because of good reviews but it it really a bar . I'm sure the drinks were great , just wasn't a good experience , sorry ! But if you like hot very spicy Mexican small dishes it would be perfect for your pallet.

This is consistently one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in downtown town Caldwell. Definitely on the higher end, expect to spend more than your typical Mexican joint. You definitely get what you pay for! The quality is amazing! I had tamales tonight, chicken minus all dairy. They still added cheese to my beans and I requested it to be left out but my hubs just ate the cheese off'. Food came out extremely fast and was all amazing! Bartenders and super fast and great at keeping your cup full :) In the evening it's a total bar setting but it's super fun! Around dinner time there are lots of families and it's a bit quieter. Will definitely keep coming back!

Dinner on a Friday night. Food and cocktails were just OK, but very overpriced. They bill you out at the table with no breakdown of individual costs of each item. After closing out I requested a copy of my receipt and I found a "processing fee" of $4.00. Unbelievable, the bill was over $100 for two people and they have the audacity to charge a $4.00 processing fee. With the $6.00 tax the extra fees amounted to $10.60 total. This place seems just like Amano who went belly up and now is an empty space. Avoid this place and just go to the restaurant across the street. Much better and no surprise fees. Wake up people, this is Idaho, you can't soak people for basic Mexican food. There are too many other options. Cheers!

The service is attentive and the ambiance is really cool. The music can sometimes be annoying as it was rap type music at times . The food is freshly prepared and delicious. We've been here twice and had their mango shrimp ceviche, pozole chicken soup, and shrimp tacos. All were delicious . Planning on going for my birthday in January!

I went on a weekday for dinner and it was pretty lively. The decor was super cute with multiple neon signs and a really cool mural (unfortunately wasn't able to snap a pic). The staff was very welcoming and was immediately able to accommodate my party of 10. They offered weekly specials as well as seasonal ones and even had a menu dedicated to birria which is the way I went. I got the Birria Ramen which I had never heard of before and it was delicious! It was exactly what I wanted without even knowing it until I saw it. Definitely a place I recommend if you're in the Caldwell area.

Excellent service, the margaritas were just ok. The food was good but lacked the spicy flavor. Nice ambiance and music.

Mi pueblito is a restaurant that is definitely loved and frequented by locals. You could tell that…read moreeveryone knew we weren't local by some of the glares from patrons we received, but were warmly welcomed by the staff. We were quickly greeted and offered drinks, though my unhealthy obsession with Diet Pepsi could not be fulfilled here...they don't carry it (only Pepsi zero). It seems that most soft drinks are bottled only, which is fine but unexpected. We ordered waters, which were quite delicious and nicely iced. I ordered the huevos con chorizo, that comes with "Mexican " potatoes and refried beans. I received my meal pretty quickly. The downside? It took another 4 minutes before my husband's meal arrived. My eggs were perfectly cooked and the beans seemed very homemade. They had an enticing texture and taste. The potatoes were a great addition, with a nice pan roasted flavor. The meal comes with 3 corn or flour tortillas. Everything was piping hot. I loved every bite of my meal. Once my husband received his meal, he loved the flavor of his burrito as well, especially the rice, beans and nicely toasted tortilla. The menu has all prices blacked out so it's hard to gauge cost for a meal. For the quality of food, I found our meals priced accordingly...though I would have loved better soda choices. Regardless, the food was made well, though table meal service could have been timed better.

It was my birthday, and family tradition says the birthday-ee gets to choose dinner. I was going to…read morehit my favorite Mexican restaurant, but in my mind, molcajete came up. A quick Yelp review showed that Eliza's had recently opened. It wasn't in the core of old downtown, so it's a little tough to find. It's next to a Hispanic grocery. You walk in and go to the counter to order. The menu is perfect. There aren't a million things to go through. We got some guacamole and chips, tacos, a torta and the molcajete. I got a medium horchata to drink. We found a place to sit and a cute little fella came to deliver our chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh, and very clean tasting. I enjoyed it a lot. After a while the guacamole came out with chips... it was a hit. I little on the spicy side, but it was fresh, no doubt. While we waited, a mariachi singer came in and sang... and boy did he sing. He was fantastic. We absolutely loved the intimate concert. It took a while, but our food came. My wife had the tacos and loved them. The torta, for the 13 yr old, was great his only complaint was it was a little too toasted. The meat was fantastic. The food was legit. If you've never had a molcajete, it's an experience. The thing is a flaming hot stone bowl,(no touchy, it's hot,) filled to the brim with shrimp, strips of grilled chicken, Carne Asada, cactus leaf, cheese, onions, and some jalapeno strips. They bring it to you hot as can be in a boiling stew of a tangy green sauce. It's not cheap, but it could easily feed 2-3... The horchata was great. I enjoyed it, it was totally refreshing. The food came and so did the songs, BTW, if the guy we heard tonight is singing, you need to show up. He's seriously awesome. They were so polite and I really enjoyed it. Here are the things I took a star off for. 1. As sweet as the waitress was, she got distracted a few times, and could have paid a little more attention. I am gonna chalk this up to inexperience. We needed a chops refill a few times, and there were only two tables filled tonight. 2. It was pricey... but worth it. 3. This is NOT fast food. Plan on a long wait. Understand though, that you are getting some made to order food, not just a scoop of something out of a bucket. There were a lot of people making food, so it was weird to have it take that long... the singer made it ok.. because he was fun to listen to. 4. They could serve and refill water, instead of selling water . The kids wiped out their water bottle in minutes. All in all, the things they can improve on didn't impact the quality of the food. It was REALLY good. We will be back... I think that they will continually get better and faster. With the quality of the food, I'm shocked this place wasn't packed.

It's their loss I say because we love this place. Value for the money is pretty outstanding, but some folks say they've been downsizing the portions lately, so I'll have to check that out for myself. The atmosphere is very much the utilitarian, hole-in-the-wall style eatery, but it's always consistent and delicious and their long hours make it a favorite of the post-bar crawl crowd who know it's here. That being said, given its location, if you didn't go looking for this place, you would probably never find it, since it's a little off the beaten tracks (literally) near where the railroad crosses by some of Caldwell's industrial businesses. The format as one could guess is fast-casual, so definitely a destination you go to more for the food than the dining atmosphere. That being said, they keep the place clean and in good shape, but some of the chairs are a little uncomfortable.
