This new restaurant is a MUST try! I literally found this place by accident. We were involved in a car accident and the manager was kind enough to let us leave our car in his lot overnight. We went back the next day to have it towed away so we had dinner there. The atmosphere from the minute we walked in was exactly what a Mexican restaurant should be. The chips and salsa were way above average especially since they came with a side of refried beans. We ordered the 3 taco special and chicken posole soup. Both were VERY good. The margaritas were top notch and service was even better. As a restaurant owner myself, I feel that I know just enough to give this place at least 5 stars. Can't wait to golf near by or go to a Dodger game so that I have a reason to make my way out there again. read more

The restaurant itself is nice. Sat on the patio on a warm day. The food is good, but the price is another thing. I mean, for the amount of food you get, it's pretty pricey. The service was ok, could be more attentive. It seemed they are still trying to work things out and I'm assuming they didn't expect that much people. They seemed they were a bit understaffed. It actually makes me want to grab a bottle of Maalox just thinking about our experience. May 9th was quite a lovely evening however walking into this place changed everything. Not kidding. Two food orders for myself and my wife and only one taken down by the waitress and brought. Charged for both orders as well two glasses of wine when only one was ordered. Never did get our guacamole and received flour rather than corn tortillas. Charged $78.00 and decided to pay the damn thing rather than spending one more minute in hell. No sooner did I render payment when the restaurant manager approached and asked us asking how everything was. I dug deep into my psyche an attempt to find that calm and civil place that lived somewhere inside me and told him he really didn't want to know. He insisted he did and profusely apologized telling us that he would provide us with a 50% credit after reviewing our bill. CHECKED MY DISCOVER CARD NO CREDIT WAS EVER RECEIVED. Told us he used to manage the famous Smoke House, one of the great places in Burbank we used to frequent and thinking that he must have either been fired or was drinking and had made a terrible momentary mistake in judgment. This place is nothing short of an accident waiting to happen so if you want the good time everyone deserves when they go out and spend the money don't even think about this place. Been there twice and both times service was great and very attentive. The food is definitely wholesome flavors on point. Enchiladas like Abuja's, and the Mole is definitely a palette teaser and delicious. The patio is a must under the Southern California sun with a Margarita is a great combination. The food was mediocre. What stood out more to me was the service. When I asked for a refill of my water, the waiter pointed to the other side of the table and asked, "Do you need me to refill that water bottle?" I hadn't noticed the bottle since it was placed farther away from me. Instead of refilling my cup or bringing the bottle closer, he remained standing beside me and pointed to it. The interaction felt somewhat uncomfortable, and I believe it could have been handled in a more courteous and attentive manner. read more

Slow service considering the place was empty at our visit. Waiter was not engaging, we had to ask a busser if we could get assistance ordering a cocktail. When we placed our order we informed the waiter of an allergy (tomatoes), and the order arrived full of tomatoes on the plate. After sending it back, the waiter made no apology or suggestion of something else. He never came around to ask if we needed another drink, or anything. Food: The carnitas were dry, unfortunately. The chips and bean dip were really good. My tacos were ok. Considering we live close by and we're excited to visit this new place with the hopes it coukd become our new go to place, it was a disappointing visit. I think that staff and chef should be more cognizant of customer allergies. Service could be faster and more engaging, (our waiter stood nearby at the host desk for the duration of our visit) and seemed to engage more with other staff members than he ever did with us. Just off putting. I wish it would've gone better. It's too bad because I want a place to succeed and the space itself begs to do well. The patio is beautiful. It's funny, but I had tried calling the restaurant earlier in the day to ask a question (during their operating hours), and couldn't get through. I should've known when the sever who wasn't Latino and didn't speak Spanish and had no knowledge of the menu asked how I wanted my eggs when I ordered The machaca that my experience was gonna be unsatisfactory. Said plate was dried and greasy. The sauce on the chilaquiles was from a can. This was horrible but yet the restaurant was full. Why? Consumerism. I paid $80 for disgusting food. First off my family and friends and I where huge fans of Ivanhoe restaurant that was here before Casa Chida opened. Great food great drinks and great service great atmosphere. We have been talking of coming to Casa Chida to give it a try since we loved the location and restaurant before. So we finally did last night and invited friends out to dinner to try this place. We came at 8pm dinner for 4. As usual place was really nice inside cool vibe chill patio lights and music playing at a decent volume. To my surprise the place was dead. Maybe 8-10 ppl were scattered around the restaurant. Host was nice sat us a the patio booth. Water came out fast but server took a min to get to us which was surprising since the place was pretty much empty. When he finally came to us he was very short of words didn't recommend anything or ask if we had been there before and just was like you ready to order. So we started with drinks. Got some micheladas and a hibiscus margarita. Those took a good min to come out and again we were like why? The place is dead. But anyhow, micheladas were not good taste was off. So that was disappointing. The margarita was good I enjoyed it and was happy about that. So after that we decided to order food but the waiter was not around so we waited while we filled our time with conversation. He finally came out again and asked if we wanted to order something else. Again very short and uninterested. We ordered carne asada plates and veggies with grilled shrimp plate and a carne asada salad. . Now that took like 35 -40min maybe to come out. That was very disappointing as again there was nobody there by now but us and maybe some 3 ppl at the bar drinking. So the food...... carne asada was good, size and taste. Came with chile relleno which was good and size was good. Now the cilantro rice was terrible. Old stuck together and hard. Taste was terrible. Couldn't eat that at all. Came with side of guacamole which looked like the bag type which is a slap in the face for good Mexican food. Side of beans were ok. Good taste but not a wow either. Tortillas umm not a fan. Got cold and hard very fast. Overall not something I would pay for again. I think that was 29$ plate. Not worth it at all sadly. The shrimp plate my friend was not a fan. Shrimp taste like dirt. Not good flavor. So that was a pass. We also got the carne asada salad. That was probably the only dish that was good. Again the waiter took a while to come back to ask if we wanted more drinks. But when he finally did we only ordered the hibiscus margarita again and this time it taste totally diff and it took a min as well to come out. It was more strong and more sweet. Wasn't the same as the first one. Then again it was a while till someone came to take plates and see how we were doing. Luckily we had a lot to talk about with each other lol . Lastly I ordered a 3 verdes drink. That one was just nasty tasting. I couldn't drink it as much as I tried I had to send that one back and call it a night. To top it off the waiter came just to say he was leaving and for us to close out. That wasn't good feeling. I mean he looked over it since the beginning yes but that wasn't just salt to the wound. We got up and left and nobody was around to even say bye to or thank us for coming nothing. I was very disappointed sadly cause I really wanted this place to be a hit with Mexican menu and drinks to be great. We love to go out and eat great food and great drinks and have a good time at a chill welcoming place but the food and drinks here did not hit the mark at all and to price items like that was not accurate. I am sad about it. Safe to say we tried but won't be coming back. :( read more

Tried Casa Chida out right before Thanksgiving. They had just opened up, but the food was excellent. Rich, homemade flavor. The atmosphere was chill. Only suggestion I have is to put more of their tasty sauce on the enchiladas. Unfortunately, they didn't have their liquor license yet, so we'll be trying it out this weekend now that they do. Hopefully, the margaritas will be as fresh and delicious as their food. read more

This is my second time coming here, once when they first opened, Went with my mom on a Saturday night. We sat with menus for about 15 minutes before being helped. But the food was delicious. I think the Cadillac came out to 18 each. My mom and I got the taco plate that was 16 bucks(great deal!) so a month later we do a birthday lunch here. Taco plate is now 19 with some tacos being 1+ extra. Took about 45 minutes to be sat(we were 10 deep on a busy Sunday) we sat long enough that when the server asked if we were ready we ordered the apps,drinks and our dinner all at the same time. We got our chips and bean dip but only got one salsa, we had to ask for a second one for the half table. Only the guacamole came out as an appetizer, when we also order the cheese fondue and ceviche, My sister's pozole came out after the guac, I'm surprised the kitchen didn't catch it was bowl(meaning the main dish for her) we got almost all our food, but even the food runner was like "something missing" since my sister in law didn't have a plate. So they rushed her order. Her tacos didn't have the divider and her beans didn't have the cheese like the rest of us. My sister and I got bottomless mimosas but kept making the joke we did find the bottom. We only got 4 when the glasses are tiny and my last 2 I had to settle for the original because the Paloma wasn't an option and I didn't want to wait more. On top of all this we were sat inside and had this kid practicing his piano, doing the same happy birthday song for over 45 minutes making this whole thing more ridiculous. Now their food is good. Just not enough for me to come back soon. Maybe I'll give it a shot again when they get things settled. Service slacks since it's new. I really wanted to like this place because its close to home, but I just can't. They say the third time's the charm, but this is Dodgertown, and its three strikes, you're out. We came shortly after they opened, and were seated pretty quickly, but were not given anything but a menu. No water, no, "hey would you like a drink", nothing. We had to ask the server for something to drink, only to find out they didnt have their liquor license yet, so no margaritas for us. Second time we came with some friends and still had to wait, but the place was busy, so that was fine. Just came here for my third and final for some tacos and margaritas. There were 3 tables with people outside and no one inside. We sat inside. And we sat. And sat. And waited. After 15 minutes we got chips and water. And we sat. And we waited. Wondering when I'd finally get a margarita. Another 15 minutes go by and a table of 3 were seated near us. They got their chips and water fast, and then to my surprise, they were already ordering!
