Went for cinco de mayo. Hospitality 10/10. It was fun but it's good for happy hour and some appetizers. The chicken taquitos were not the best, chicken was dry and overcooked. I got the ahi tuna tostada. It was two soggy tostadas, the tuna that was not marinated and they just sprinkled cilantro for the price definitely not worth it. Also it took 1 hour to get our drinks once it got busy. The bartender was taking care of their friends even though we ordered first. Definitely understaffed. They compensated that by giving us free shots. But definitely wouldn't come back again. Margaritas were ok premix was not great either. read more

Love, love, love this place! We made our first visit to Casa Chida for Sunday brunch. The owner came out to greet all of the tables and we learned that he just opened about 6 weeks ago. The $10 margaritas were perfect, not too tart and not too sweet. We started with the guacamole and chicharrones and the ceviche, then moved on to main dishes. They were all standard Mexican breakfast dishes- machaca, chorizo, breakfast burrito, molletes- and delicious. The patio area is very popular, so make a reservation and specify outside patio if it available. The inside of the restaurant is very nice too, so don't wait if inside is available. Came during happy hour and my drinks took forever to arrive and it wasn't busy, at the end I didn't get happy hour price because according to the waitress we didn't eat at the patio. Restaurants decor is nice, patio has always been nice back since it was Home, Ivanhoe etc. Good for big groups easy parking. We came during their first days of opening maybe this is why but the food wasn't great . Our group tried a couple of dishes and only the beans were okay. OMG This place is amazing! We stumbled upon this place on a Tuesday and lucky us, It was taco Tuesday. We tried three different kinds of tacos and they were all delicious. The chicken molé enchiladas were over the top. He had very authentic flavors and the flan was just like my grandmother used to make. There is a wonderful beer garden style patio outfront complete with twin fountain pools. The Weather was a little sketchy so we didn't sit outside, but the bar area was fantastic for two people to sit and margaritas and enjoy a great dining experience. They started with a 5 star service and a good tasting food for the first month but after that it started to go downhill! Just now, I ordered carne asada plate with extra protein and extra nopales but to my dismay I got a kids portion! Mind you! I paid extra for it too! A scoop of brown rice and some side dish that needs to be identified by a laboratory! Im still looking for my nopales salad. I hope they do something about it, I don't know if the staff needs more trng or am I expecting too much ?! I was there when they first open so I know they have what it takes to run a good restaurant! I think they've finally found the right kind of establishment for this space. I really liked Ivanhoe and ate there often, but its last couple of years there it went downhill pretty drastically and finally closed. An Italian restaurant took its place, but was gone in the blink of an eye. Somehow Casa Chida just feels right here. Really hope it lasts. I actually went two days in a row, once by myself and the next day I went with my son for happy hour. The first day everything was great, but the second day there were some issues. First of all we went for Happy Hour, only to find they only have happy hour in the bar and there was very little seating there. Just a few tables already full with customers. There was one small bar table but the party taking up all the other tables were a bit boistrous, so we chose to just eat in the dining room off the main menu. A real bummer, but the manager said they will open up the dining room to HH soon. But then they messed up my and my son's orders. His was just the wrong sauce on his burrito, and he chose to just get a side of the sauce he wanted. He really liked the burrito. Mine, the cook completely got my order wrong. I ordered a tostada salad with grilled shrimp and I got a garden salad instead. Unfortunately I didn't notice there was no tostada in it until I had already started eating it. The waitress asked if I wanted to change it, but I chose not to. She did give us a slight discount for the mistake though. And, like I said the food was very good. Just some small glitches, that hopefully will get ironed out. read more

One of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant in a while. Yes the food was amazing. From the appetizer, drinks and entire. I came for brunch for my mom's birthday and i came for dinner 3 weeks later. The hospitality was 2nd to none. I love this place. I'm gonna keep coming back. Group of 23 people on a Saturday morning with a reservation 15 mins after opening time. Place was accommodating for a large party and allowed for easy reservations via open table. We were sat on time and were the only party for a while. Although the service was slower than expected everything came out timely once our entire party ordered. Everything except the drinks the drinks did take a while and for the bottomless mimosas it wasn't as quickly refilled as expected and the mimosas are pre mixed. The reason for the 3 stars is because we were only assigned one waiter even though they still charge a mandatory 18% tip for large group. I feel as if it should of been at least 2 waiters. The micheladas were also bad, the mix is made in house and it was hard to drink, tasted like it went bad. Other drinks were good though. The food was ok, the $13 guacamole is not a molcajete amount it comes in a little bowl and was too little for the price. The decor of the place was very nice and beautiful patio. The bathrooms are single stalls so there was always someone waiting. Overall service could of been better but they only assigned one server to a large party. And stay away from the guac and micheladas. read more

Chix was perfectly done and the fajitas weren't overwhelming to eat for one and came w all the good sides including guacamole. Hubby had the chix tinga enchiladas and said they were "fantastic." A lot of restaurants have come and gone but Casa Chida is definitely here to stay. I've came a couple times already and never disappoints. Their taco plate is a go to and a great price for the size of the tacos . My wife always orders the pozole and one of the best that she has tried. This is in my neighborhood, replacing a very popular spot. I visited in January a few months after they opened, in February, and again today months later. Mid to late afternoon, they're open, but it's the least hospitable restaurant slash construction zone I've ever encountered. Today they were running noisy construction equipment over the entry way, and it was me and one other customer at 3 pm. Every time I've visited it feels like they're not open for business because they're not trying to be a restaurant. The food is overly spiced for my taste, but it's very difficult to have a dining experience in a restaurant that is past six months in operation but still makes you feel unwelcome and unsafe. Stopped by for an early dinner this past weekend and was WOW-ed by Casa Chida. It was quite empty but the ambiance and decor was nice, service was excellent, and food was amazing! Our table ordered the Camarones à la Diabla, Enchiladas, Tostada Salad, corn on the cob, and flan and churro ice cream for dessert. Everything was delectable and perfectly seasoned/spicy. I'm no tv talent show host but my family and I were given celebrity service last night. I think nearly every employee checked in on our table in the best, kindest way. First came our house margs. I've got plenty of restaurant margarita experience and truly this was my favorite; not too sweet or tart. We went for happy hour and tried four different dishes, all upscale versions of familiar faves and all delicious.
