My fiancé had actually gone right across the street to the Mexican restaurant to pick up food from there and they were remodeling so we decided on this instead. He was literally in their parking lot when I called. The lady on the phone was SUPER rude. She claimed they close in "five minutes" to which I replied well you actually close in 20 minutes which means you're open right now right? And she said "actually 15 but it's too late for you to place an order" in the most bitchiest tone of voice. Worst customer service hands down. The last time we actually ate here the workers were loudly talking about what kind of cigarettes they smoke and other things that someone who's eating food doesn't want to hear their waiter talk about. Staff I work somewhere that serves a lot of luncheons for the staff. We get to-go orders or have food delivered at least 3 times a month. More often than not MY supervisor places these orders. When she calls to place the order she likes to ask questions. Sometimes ridiculously detailed questions and I'm sure she gets annoying. BUT I don't think it's abnormal for someone to ask how many people does a dish serve. We were having a managers meeting and she was inquiring as to how many people a house salad and pan of lasagna would feed. The gentleman representing CM said the salad and lasagna would serve 6 people each. Ok, so she orders 3 pans of lasagna and 2 salads to meet the needs of the group. 4 days later she goes to pick up the order, brings it back, sets up the lunch, and everyone eats. Awesome. NOT. The lasagna that the gentleman said would serve 6 people was actually cut into 9 very large squares (3"x3" I'd say...) So we only went through 2 pans. Didn't even finish 1 salad. Don't lie to get more money. It's rude. Unfortunately, my manager did not remember the lies told to her, because when she called back a second time to place a to-go she asked them again. THANKFULLY, she spoke with a more honest representative and did not over order. Food Ew. Salad: iceberg lettuce, mozz cheese, olives Apparently people LOVE this... I think it's disgusting. Mozz is too heavy for a salad, and iceberg lettuce is pathetic and lacks flavor. MY OPINION! This place is a waste of time. I was looking to find a local Italian restaurant can't say good Italian restaurant because this is not good . I called in a to go order of their classic spaghetti and meatballs a large order they told me about five minutes. Wow that's fast arrived and picked up my order took a quick look at it and from the top . looked okay so off I went home . Pull my food out the first thing both rolls they gave with it burnt on the top and then the bottom of the container was ice cold taking the lid off I could then see that there was about a ladle of sauce on it and one big bowl of under cooked noodles and I mean a lot so I called them and explained what I had burnt roils and dry spaghetti plus it was cold they said you can come back and get some sauce ( spend another 40 minutes in traffic no thanks . Then they told me that they had Ben having complaints about the same thing and offered up the info that it was their old chef they were having issues with but he was now gone and a new chef was working. So I ask when he started she said a couple days which means that my order was old sitting in their refrigerator for days pre made and just warmed up in a microwave. And all they would do about it was to say sorry . The next day I called and spoke with the manager and was told after explaining what happened she stated that the next time I'm in too check my order first and ask for more sauce we'll give you more sauce and that we have a lot of new employees. So I asked her so all you will do or say is ask for more sauce and I just get screwed out of 25.00 and get a bowl of dry noodles. She said that her regular customers know to ask for more sauce and that I will learn that next time I told her no their won't be a next time . I think you need to be trained to manors and business relations . I had pictures to show her but she didn't care . I would give the staff a 5 star, but when it comes to the food probably 1.5/2 I ordered a regular pepperoni pizza my first time here I heard there pizza was good and I just didn't find it as appealing or appetizing as it's put out there to be. Really cheesy and a little to soft for my preference. Everyone has different taste buds so maybe someone else will find it there cup tea. But my entree was Veal Scallopini and this is what my review is based on... Marsala wine was used and wasn't cooked off.... It had a very strong alcohol taste... I ordered a simple Shrimp Alfredo but it tasted so bland no amount of salt and pepper could fix it. I had the tortellini Alfredo and I was very disappointed with the dish, the sauce was very bland and a lot of Nats were flying around my table. The salad dressing was 90% oil and no vinegar. The waitress was outstanding and very nice at least. I have never written anything on Yelp but I had to on this place. In my opinion I was very disappointed in the quality of the food and will never recommend or go back to this place again. Aside from seeking good food, most of us go to a restaurant to have a delightful experience and be provided a little attention while you're there. My family and I have been coming to Casa Mia in Puyallup for years. Something has gone awry here as of late and it needs to change before all the loyal customers have choose to move on. The food is just Ok, but the worst part is that there's either bad ownership or management or both. There seems to be a lot of turnover. The last 4-5 visits here have offered nothing but inconsistent care or just poorly trained staff. Tonight, the place was only about half full, and didn't appear overly busy when we came in. We were promptly seated, but it took 20+ minutes for anyone to take an order of any kind (no exaggeration). Another guest behind us too was visibly upset - at least they had salads, bread and water, but told the waitress she wanted to cash out and that hey wanted to cancel their remaining order which apparently was sitting in the pickup window for more than 5 minutes. I was passionately explaining why you don't treat guests like that to my children (who at this point were rolling their eyes at me) and was about to walk out, when our waitress finally made it to our table. She could tell I was visibly upset and said she wasn't told we were there and apologized. We placed our order immediately and the service provided from Kelsie from the rest of our visit went as planned. She did her best to recoup. At the end of our dining experience I had almost thought they would compensate us for wasting 20+ minutes of my families time. Not that I am expecting it, but had they done something simple to partially compensate us, I probably wouldn't be here sharing this experience. Our lives are busy, we work hard to shell out money to dine out in restaurants with our family with the limited time we have and only want a little respect. Having parents from Grays Harbor I've grown up eating Casa Mia since my mom was probably pregnant with me. Everyone in my family has their favorites- I certainly don't think everything is amazing but I love the spicy chicken Cesar salad, lasagna, chicken pizza and the salads with blue cheese. The last couple of times I've gone the blue cheese has tasted WEIRD. It's not the original recipe at all. The waitress has assured me it is... but I have Casa Mia in my blood lol... that absolutely is not the same recipe. It honestly tasted mayonnaise-y?! We were super disappointed to leave and not get a dum dum too... These kinds of little mom & pops have loyal regulars and when you honestly don't have the best gourmet food, you can't cut out the minor details. Don't get me wrong, I like the things I like, but this is comfort American Italian. New owners- I'm all for change for the greater good, but please don't forget the little touches that granted Casa Mia its loyal customers. You'll have more of an Italian meal by opening a jar of Ragu, because that's what Caca Mia does only they dilute that with water. Sometimes you eat at a place and while the experience isn't great it's not so awful that you don't give it a second chance. This is NOT that place. Eat there once with the poorly cooked food and awful ingredients and you leave feeling you could have had a better meal by scavenging through an alley dumpster. My bf had to grab our menus himself. What caught my eye was cashew nuts on the pizza and also, the tomato and gargonzola parmesan sauce...mmmmmm. Other toppings were chicken, onions, fresh basil, and parmesan. The crust was crispy and thin. The ingredients all worked together DELICIOUSLY and I like the crunch that the nuts gave to this pizza. This hit the spot to my growling tummy. The rating stars immediately rose = 4 STARS. My bf had their Chicken Parmigiana. This came with salad or soup and spaghetti or 'fetucini'. He had ordered the salad, which was iceburg, mozzarella and olives drowned in the blue cheese dressing - not bad. The spaghetti in their homemade, stewed n' brewed for over 6 hours Putanesca sauce was delicious! Then, came the Chicken Parmigiana. Breaded Chicken drowned in their Putanesca sauce, they had added olives and capers, topped with the most chewy and stretchy mozzarella I've ever had. Too salty for me, but overall good. Rating star = 3. I would go back and try their lasagna and give it another chance for their service. One of my very favorite italian restaurants! They keep it simple and do it right! I've been coming to Casa Mia for many years- Olympia & Puyallup locations. I live in Kirkland so I don't make it to either location very often anymore. I took my husband for the first time last weekend for my birthday dinner- it's been more than 2 years since I last dined there. I was worried they had changed things, I really talked it up. Without fail, it was a delicious perfectly portioned dinner (we ordered smalls) and my husband was thrilled it only cost around $32 for both of us and our toddler. He said "this would cost $100 in kirkland". Yes, so very true AND it wouldn't taste as good- I've been to all the italian restaurants in Kirkland and chose to go to puyallup. That should say something. I ordered my classic favorites: spaghetti with red meat sauce, the classic salad with the house dressing, and regular garlic bread. YUM! I ordered 4 orders of the garlic bread, one order was to take home to eat with my leftover spaghetti. I haven't found any other restaurant besides Casa Mia that makes a red sauce taste like a good home cooked long simmered marinara. The salad is just how I like it. Simple. Lettuce with fresh gratted mozzarella, black olives, and the perfect vinaigrette: The "house italian". I forgot to bring a bottle home, assuming they still sell it. I know their meatball sub is good. Unfortunately, I've never tried much of anything else but I think I'll make a special trip back sooner than later and grab a pizza. The pizza the ladies seated next to us ordered looked amazing and I heard the server say that it made him hungry bringing it out because it's so good. I have been a casual dinner here for the past couple of years but this is my last visit. I ordered a chicken parmesan dinner. Only comes with 2 rolls and a side fettuccini or spaghetti. I added a salad also entree came in a 6 inch dish covered in red sauce and cheese. The chicken breast maybe at best was 4 oz. Smallest I have ever had. Did they think I wouldn't notice because of all the cheese and sauce. Really? 15.95 for this. No longer a customer. I will find some other Italian place. I almost walked out. The food was mediocre. Our waitress wasn't exactly horrible. It is their serious lack of hospitality that caused me to be so very dissatisfied. We were seated at a very cold part of the restaurant. When I say cold, I mean I was shivering and had to wear my scarf and winter coat. We were each given two napkins and one fork. That's it. No butter knife to butter our rolls. No small plate to put our rolls on. We had to use the napkins. The food came piled high on small plates. I had fettuccini and could really use a spoon to twirl my pasta but I didn't have that either. Our waitress even forgot to bring us our drinks (and for the record, she apologized profusely and offered free desert). Visited Casa Mia last night for the first time. We arrived fairly early..I think it was a little before 5pm. We had tried Red Robin and BJ's up on the hill but it was packed so we though to try some place down the hill...and remembered Casa Mai. Walked in..was greeted at the door and seated promptly by our friendly server. It's cute in there and smells of yummy pizza, reminded me of Sourdough's Pizza in Mesa, AZ...it made me smile. We looked over the menu...I thought the menu was missing something. No steak, chicken or fish option that isn't smothered in sauce with pasta. I guess I really wasn't in a pasta mood and hoping for something different other than a sandwich...Notice there wasn't an Antipasto Salad...why doesn't every pizza place have this on their menu..you already have all of the ingredients. I decided on the Lasagna and he got the Chicken Parmesan plus we ordered a small Classic Casa Mia Special pizza to taste, eat if or meals disappointed us or who doesn't love cold leftover pizza breakfast :o) Side salad additional $2.00 when adding to pasta dish. We ordered Cesar's, they was good not overly dressed and perfect size for a side salad. I saw their Classic Casa Mia Salad is lettuce, mozzarella and black olives. Reminded me of Spuds Pizza side salad...not my favorite but my husband likes those kind. Rolls free with pasta order, they came out crispy on the outside and steamy warm on the inside..which helped melt the cold wrapped butter. They aren't rolls made on site..store bought and warmed...but decent. They weren't very busy when we arrived...I think we may have been the 4th or 5th customers in the place. But as time went on the door kept opening and more and more people started to arrive, this was reassuring. Then Homecoming dates started showing up in their sparkly dresses...also reassuring that this would be a place to take your homecoming date. I should mention I left my phone at home..so couldn't yelp the place or foursquare it. You could tell they were getting busy quick. Our food arrived..and looked great! Lasagna tasted good..I'm kind of picky about my lasagna's ..and I liked theirs. The Chicken Parmesan on the other hand was a sad soggy mess. Taste was good..but it was smothered with so much sauce and then baked in a ramekin that the crunchy coating was now a wet blanket of soggy spiced flour around a piece of chicken such a shame. It should have been served on top of sauce not smothered in it. The taste was very good if not for the texture of mush :o( The pizza was good..I was to full to really enjoy it but I really liked the dough. Crispy and chewy..tasted buttery to me.
