Tiffany was our server today, she was very patient. I could tell she was really busy. she made sure to take her time with us. My five-year-old daughter is really picky. She made sure to go over everything with my daughter to make sure she was happy with what she got. I was very impressed with Tiffany. She is by far the best server.she was doing the job by herself. There was another lady. that brings chips to the table and salsa I asked her for green salsa she gave me a attitude. I asked Tiffany if I can have some green salsa. Tiffany brought it right to us. The other lady never even brought it to us.she would walk by our table and just give us bad looks, I don't get why Tiffany had to do the other ladies job. I highly recommend Tiffany for a server. Casa has always been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area! They have amazing margaritas in loads of flavors and delicious chips and salsa to accompany it. Hands down I have to always get the guacamole, shrimp cocktail that comes loaded with large shrimp veggies and a to die for sauce. Also I love their crunchy shredded beef tacos with mole sauce on the side It's so important to support our local restaurants so during this difficult covid time we decided to order from their restaurant. We got 6 burritos in various fillings such as chicken, chili verde, and shredded beef with a pint of rice and a pint of beans and a huge salad for $49.00 awesome and tasty deal! Went to dinner tonight (4/22) around 6:00. The front desk put us in an area where we were the only table. The busboy dropped straws on the table along with water and left. We waited quite a while for someone to at least bring us silverware. We finally just nabbed a waiter and told him we never saw a waiter so he was kind enough to help us. Had to ask him for silverware and he slid them across the table. Finally got our food and a pitcher of margarita (wish I could push a picture of it, so small). We only saw the waiter once after our food and that was to give us our bill. Again we had to flag someone down to pay our bill. Note: It's ok, but since there are not many viable options for good Mexican in the area, not a bad stop. The building is huge. There are like 3-4 dining rooms in the building. It has pleasing decor, a little dark and heavy, not too light. But not bad. The mixed drink menu is substantial. I went with the jalepeno cucumber margarita which was the perfect blend or sweet and spicy. It is on the rocks in a tall glass with a rim covered in spicy lime salt. The first thing I noticed was the pricing. It seemed a bit high. But I understand were still in the bay. Around $18-25 for a meal. Maybe not bad for dinner, a bit high for lunch. The menu was hearty. Plenty of options and breakfast specialties served all day. I went with chorizo and egg scramble. Was good, flavorful, but lacking a little color and presentation. My son got combination plate and he liked it but same complaint. Just ok and lacking presentation and color. A little pico de galllo or something fresh Adds a huge element. The portions are solid so that's a plus. The staff was nice but not incredibly attentive. Had to ask for salsa several times. We went here knowing it would be busy, after all it is may 5th, but being busy doesn't excuse being rude. The original server we had was negligent to the tables he was attending to, he would yell across the room to other people on staff directing them but doing no work on his own. Getting water let alone a refill was like pulling teeth. He then passed us off to someone more capable of some customer service but by then it was too late and we were asking for the check from our drink order. This is what we needed for our weekly "dine out" (ok, take out) during shelter in place! First, the servings are huge. Enough leftover for lunch and snacks the next day. Lots of salad, rice, beans, etc, along with the main entrees too. Flavor on each was on point, and each was prepared perfectly. Chicken was so tender and easy to eat. Shredded beef was soaked in juice and was easy to pull apart into smaller pieces for ease of eating. Bottom line - the family loved it. The take out service was great. Arrived just before my requested pickup time, and the order was waiting for me. Meat inside of the burritos and quesadillas were also dry, all different types of meat (chicken, beef, and carnitas). Waitress got our order wrong, even after repeating it for her. I didn't think I'd find a place that could make El Torito's look good. I mean, I can't even call it service at this point. You'll be lucky to get your server or bartender's attention after you've been sat. And when you do, just be prepared to deal with a nasty attitude depending on who's helping you. Secondly, this place is really starting to look run down. It's in dyer need of a facelift. Those rainbow flags ain't foolin' nobody! Renovations are a necessity at this point. The bar seems to just stay dirty. Nobody wipes off the counters unless they are told. My arms were practically sticking to the counter. But the worst part in all of this... the food. God, I just remember the food being so incredibly delicious here! And now it's all just a memory. The food is just completely flavorless! The tamales are dry, chips are stale, and their tacos are atrocious. Oh yeah.. and who puts BEANS in a taco?! This ain't Taco Bell, homie! To top it off, the prices are just ridiculously high for the poor food quality. The only thing that is even remotely good here are their drinks... and that's all dependent on the type of drink that you're getting. However, it's still not a reason to come here in my opinion. I went here with a coworker for dinner, and it was pretty good! The service is extremely fast. We got seated and had our food within ten minutes. I was impressed by this, especially with it being a Friday when we went. The food was delicious. I had cheese enchiladas and ate everything on the plate. The chips were good as well. The only complaint I have is that it seems every time you get a new bowl of salsa, they add more heat to it with every new serving and I'm not a fan of that. I almost gave this place 4 stars except for the following. 1) the cilantro lime dressing was very sour and bitter 2) the service was super slow 3) the quesadilla's cheese was already cold and hard when we got it Other than that my food which was the Chile releno and enchilada had a lot of flavor to it. I gave this location another shot after I had a really positive experience at the livermore location...and let me tell you, I will never come back-- to either location. My fiancee and I came in after a day of home decorating. We ordered our drinks and the salsa came....and it was warm, and tasted like the salsa that you leave in the refrigerator for too long. My fiancée finished the salsa, because she was starving; and, they brought more but she said she agreed something was off and didn't eat it. Flash forward to later at home-- she's violently sick to her stomach. I'll spare you the ugly details, but the poor thing was miserable. I answered the survey that they emailed me and said that I thought the salsa may be rancid because Erin was so sick, expecting at most a "we are sorry, we'll look into this. Feel better!" But instead, got the attached screenshot back in an email. First rule of customer service: when something is wrong, address it and look into it. Don't attack the customer and immediately deny what's being said. Erin and I were frequent livermore customers, and so is most of my extended family, and this sort of response from upper management is exactly what leads to businesses closing. TLDR: if you enjoy being respected as customers, and not being sick to your stomach, stay away from here. read more

The margaritas top shelf came without top shelf ingredients. The waiter kindly retuned it but it was still terrible. The salsa was flavorless and the guacamole was also awful. I don't know who from Mexico would ever make this salsa. Their mother would be ashamed. I ordered simple dishes that should be easy to make deliciously. The Chile relleno salsa tasted canned. The enchilada verde with was dry as if it had sat under a heat lamp. But the salsa has an odd flavor not attributed to the flavor of fresh tomatillos as it should have. The rice was clumpy and overcooked. The waiter was very kind but he's not the cook nor the bartender so he can't make up for the lack of drink, food flavor and quality. The chefs should ask their moms to come in and rescue this place. Skip this restaurant and head to Taco Bell. At least you know you're getting crappy food and you don't have to pay so much for it and be disappointed. read more

This is not my first time in this beautiful and friendly restaurant. I've visited this place with coworkers and friends. Wonderful atmosphere. The food is excellent. There's a live band on the weekends. I've never had a problem with this place. I highly recommend. Well... except for my last visit with my wife. We were seated right away outsides to watch a live band. The restaurant wasn't too crowded that evening. But for whatever reason, I've notice our waiter looked burnt out. Simply by the way she took our order and how she looked overwhelmed. My wife and I tried to make things easy for her. Telling her to take her time and etc... She still look stressed. Anyway, we had our food and drinks. When it was time to check out thing got a little weird. I asked for the check. She came back after a while and she gave me someone else's check. Which was alot cheaper that ours haha. But I called her about the error. She came back and gave me the correct check. I signed and left the check on the table like always. As we were leaving we said thank you to her. She looked and didn't reply. As I was walking away further she asked me, do I have a copy of my check? I told, yes, I have my own copy (Customer's copy), she said can I have it? I go why? I left a signed copy on the table. I went with her to the table and the table has been cleaned up. Then she started to stress. So , I calmly asked whoever cleaned up the table has put signed check away. I asked where would they normally put the check. She frantically said "I don't nooo". Came here for lunch. There was no front hostess when we arrived. Took a while for our party to be seated. Once we were seated our waiter, Luis immediately greeted us and took our drink order. He was moderately attentive. Food arrived quickly and was very good. My one and only issue is when I paid. I was not given a paper check. Luis showed me my charges on a small credit card terminal. He asked me if I wanted to pay cash or card. I said card. I looked over my charges. Everything was correct. I paid. Left a 20% tip. Texted the receipt to myself and went on my way. This issue I had was when reviewing my receipt later, I noticed I was charged a 3% credit card surcharge. At no time was I told about this surcharge- I honestly would have paid cash. I believe my waiter should have mentioned there is a surcharge if paying with credit card. I never saw a sign. Didn't see it on the menu. If it was posted anywhere I definitely overlooked it. Not a bad place to get Mexican in the Tri-valley, and there are not a lot of good options in this area. The menu doesn't have everything (I like mole), but it does feature a lot of dishes. You can get breakfast all day, such as the machaca or chilaquiles. Got the enchilada and tamale plate with a side of rice and beans. It was decent. Portions are huge, but that's also because the price is more than your average taqueria. Service was good overall, except the waitress refilled the chips at one end of the table and forgot about the other end. I wanted to like it but I had to add so much salt and salsa to make it have flavor. I got a one item ground beef enchilada and my boyfriend got a super burrito. At first I thought it was just my food but my boyfriend said his food was very bland and lacked flavor. We ended up taking most of the food home and we heated it up for lunch today and we added some homemade guacamole and salsa and salt and it was better. Again, I realllllly wanted to like the food because of how great the service was. Casa Orozcos food is an absolute gamble. Some days it's really good and other times it's pretty awful. The pictures show our takeout today and my question is: how can somebody look at this and be like "oh yes sure let's send this out" the beans are crusty and only the little spot you see was edible and the tortillas were so hard, that it's hard to chew them. I ate what I could of it, but the rest one can just not eat at all. To charge $24 plus tax for this is a real bad joke. This has happened to us several times before, for example when the Spanish rice my husband had a side was a hard clump of rice, we were literally able to pick it up as one big ball. And that's only one example. We had several issues with them from, overcooked to undercooked, to bland and over seasoned. The list could go on and on. We even called them at some point, not to get a refund or anything, but to make them aware that they're sending awful food out and to keep an eye on the kitchen. They didn't really seem to care. I wish I had more pictures, from previous meals I could share but unfortunately I don't. We've been dining in 2 times before Covid, once it was good and once it was decent. But for what they charge I expect more than decent. You might want to try dining in, but if you don't want to waste your money: stay away from their takeout, wether you pick it up or have it door dashed. read more

What a weird night... things started well, but then went sideways right at the end. We sat outside last night (Friday, 8/18) and things were going pretty well. The food was good. The margaritas were good. The service was good. The music was good. Then all of a sudden, between songs, the woman who was the singer went off on an unprovoked Ukraine/Russia rant that caught everyone by surprise. She literally took 10 minutes (at least!) describing the current situation and the horrors of war, how they're cutting off ears, cutting off other body parts, selling the livers of Ukrainian soldiers on the black market. "Did you know that your can get $70,000 for a human liver? And it's probably coming from a Ukrainian soldier." It was surreal. Then she proceeded to give her political opinion of things dropping *multiple* F bombs about F this politician and F that politician, and they don't give an F about Ukraine, all they F'ing want is money, etc. Surreal, I tell you! This was at a Mexican restaurant with families just trying to eat their dinners. And then after she was done with her rant, she continued with an 80's ballad about love. How strange!!! I'm sorry to say this but don't eat here or waste your time and precious money. The food is extremely horrible, tasteless, and very overpriced. The salsa lacked flavor and heat. And the cleanliness of this place would make you wonder about the kitchen. Dirty and nasty. This place needs a huge make over or at least a fresh coat of paint, new chef and new furniture. But maybe drinks are worth it. With all the money given during Covid to businesses you would think some could have gone for a make over. Say your money or don't go for food. My family used to come here ages ago when the restaurant was a very small family owned spot. In recent years the quality has really fallen. The seating staff wasn't very friendly, however our waiter was great and efficient. We sat outdoors on the patio and overall food quality was average. Chips were pretty good and the entrees were good sizes, but overall food was just ok. We ordered a burrito and burrito bowl and for dessert got the churro and flan. Ice cream was a little freezer burned. Ok for a Mexican food dining experience in east bay, but nothing to rave about. read more
