It's been a very long time since I've done this, but they need to change their service quickly. I was seeking a simple breakfast burrito for a long road trip. They had just opened. I walked in an 2-3 gentlemen looked at me from the kitchen and behind the register and didn't say a word. Then they walked to each other in the kitchen and looked and talked but would not come to ask if I wanted to purchase something. It was odd. I waited being patient but they just kept carrying on. So I left. It was not clean and they just opened. The vibe was not fitting for the area. They need a major remodel, a service overhaul and a vibe check. I opted for the small meat (chicken) quesadilla with loads of guacamole and sour cream for $11.99. The quesadilla was enough for two. The tortilla was crispy and the dish was flavorful and delicious. Hands down the best breakfast burrito I tried in the Tri Valley. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo. The food is made to order so it was fresh. The service was good, the worker took my order and also cooked my order. It was very quick and efficient. The inside is small inside but the food is really good. Wait time was very quick. I was the only person inside at the time but the food and service was quick. Overall I give this business a solid 4/5 star review. I will definitely back and re ordering the breakfast burritos. Stopped in for a quick lunch before the ride home. I ordered the super carne asada burrito. They put a ton of meat, rice and beans. I guess they had 3 options for beans but I didn't know and they gave me pinto beans. Super also has sour cream and guacamole pretty much non-existent. Burrito had no flavor. I didn't want hot salsa, I guess they don't have mild, nothing was inside. Service was fast and plenty of seating inside and a couple tables out front. Chips were not served. We've had various things at El Gallo through the years- from tacos and quesadillas to their burritos, and have tried their carne asada, al pastor, and chorizo. Their tacos are passable and quesadillas are just okay. I think the burritos are probably the best thing there- good portions, soft, and tasty. The red, creamy salsa is super tasty but I would pass on their green salsa which is watery and sour. We've found their carne asada to be dry and bland, al pastor to be tasty but strangely sour, and chorizo to be burnt and too oily. Out of everything, I'd recommend the al pastor super burrito with refried beans and red salsa. My friend ordered the birria beef tacos and loved them only $15 with rice and beans. I went for the chilaquiles with red sauce, and they were kind enough to top it with cold veggies and a side of black beans. I'm vegan, and it's so rare to find places that truly accommodate me, but they made sure everything was 100% vegan. When I say I'm still drooling over this dish, I mean it. This location has a pretty decent size variety of a menu. Small seating on the inside with some limited outside seating as well. I definitely like the fact that they had shrimp cocktail as that was my lunch preference during my particular visit here. The customer service was also, good as well. They do have what I could see a few options for vegan for example of vegetarian super burrito. Which was going to be my first choice but then decided to go with the shrimp cocktail. I did not notice public restrooms here. So it seems more or less you here to enjoy your meal, and then going about your day. They are located within an established shopping center close to the freeway. I would say the pricing was pretty reasonable for the most part. It kind of resembles and reflects the overall market. Google maps quickly directed us to Taqueria El Gallo as the closest one to us. taqueria, El Gallo is located in a small shopping center next to the 580 freeway. You can find that right next to Paris baguette. The restaurant is small and has a few tables outside. As soon as I walked in, I could smell delicious meat cooking on the grill. I ordered five traditional tacos. the ones with only onion and cilantro. We tried the Carne Asada, Carnitas and tacos al pastor. my favorite where the Carnitas. They were solid five star!!! The other 2 were also very good although the tacos al pastor would have been better with pineapple, which was not available. The carne asada was soft and had no fat! We also had the horchata agua fresca, and it was excellent. they also had additional flavors of aguas frescas such as Tamarindo, jamaica (hibiscus flower tea). they also had a good selection of Mexican beers and a soda pops such as Jarritos. It is a real mom-and-pop taqueria and I ended up going there because I told my wife that we were going to have burritos, but the place I originally was going to check out was not opened yet. Very good AUTHENTIC Mexican food place. I mean, they sell BUCHE. This is my husband and I's go-to place for soft tacos. These are the classic street kind with salsa, onions, and cilantro. Carne Asada, Chorizo, Pollo Asada, Carnitas - I haven't had a meat option I didn't like so far. I'm not as much into the buche, but my hubby swears by it. Rojo Red Salsa is the standard that comes on the tacos, you can ask them to swap for Verde Green Salsa if you want. Don't forget to ask for limes! If you're extra hungry, I recommend you get the regular nachos as an appetizer. These are a mini version of the popular Carne Asada Super Nachos. It comes in a slim sub size container. Generous toppings. You can pick any meat on the menu. Wish I took a picture, but it looked so good when I opened it, I dug in. I had that classic "doh! I forgot to take my Yelp pic" moment. Ordered a wet burrito with RED sauce to go... Got back to work and discovered it was covered in GREEN sauce. Took it back and explained that I didn't have enough time to eat it because I had to go back to work. I asked if I could come back after work and have it replaced. The person taking my order explained to the cook what happened, and they agreed to make another for me when I came back. Came back a day later and a lady (who said she was the manager) listened while I told her the situation. She replied " we already threw it away" I told her I understood that and that I was here to get the replacement. She told me, in so many words..."Oh well, too bad" I then asked for the manager's name and she refused to give it. No refund, no replacement burrito. Customer service is -10. The other employees had no problem, and were very nice and understanding. I never got a chance to try the food, but if it's really good, then she will RUIN this establishment. Where do I start. I purchased nachos for 14.32. I waited patiently for about 15 minutes, I then remembered that I wanted to explore the spice market next door. I went and came back just to find that my order was still not ready. I tried to get the attention of the front desk and was ignored. I finally got a hold of someone and I asked for a refund because I was late for an appointment. They then threw some chips in a container with some toppings and warmed it up in the microwave. I refuse to take it and they refused to refund my money. I even asked for his name and he said "I have no name" I didn't want the food you threw together and put in the microwave. Respectfully, the food was not good. This is not real Mexican food; it's fast food with what appears some Mexican flavors. We had a burrito and dinner of plate of what they call barbacoa. Barbacoa it was not, the meat was over cooked, dry and filled with animal fat. The "carne asada" burrito was overcooked, dry and salty. The price for the salty burrito, dry dinner plate and 2 soft drinks was approximately $45.00 with complementary tip. ( I always tip as a courtesy). We tried to eat some of the food, but we could not eat it. We left the plates on the table and found our way out the door. Service: no comment. I've already said enough about this place. Found this local place on Yelp and decided to give it a chance. I ordered super nachos with carne asada, carne asada and carnitas tacos and an horchata. The asada tacos were okay, the carnitas tacos were decent, the horchata tasted homemade and the salsas we good. But the nachos did not deliver satisfaction. First of all, good nachos have to be with fried home made corn tortillas. These nachos were served with chips that appeared to be stone ground chips, did not feel homemade but instead they tasted like they came from a bag. Stopped in here on the way to work the other day and grabbed some breakfast burritos. Stopped in again and picked up burritos for our construction crew. Both times the service was quick, food was fresh and we really enjoyed our Burritos. The salsa bar has a good variety of salsas to choose from, pickled jalapeños, pickled onions and carrots, pico de Gallo, and whole fresh jalapeños. I take one star away for 2 reasons: 1. When we ordered our breakfast burritos the menu didn't specify the type of meat and they never asked us. I didn't mind the chorizo, but it was less than exciting for me to think I had mystery meat until I cut my burrito open lol 2. The chips are not fresh, they're not salted, and they're all over terrible. I actually think they would be better off not serving chips, than serve these. They brought the quality down. read more

Walked in randomly around 6:30 for takeout and the inside was super messy and dirty. Quick to order and only waited about 10 minutes for food, but the food was not up to par. I ordered 3 chicken tacos with a side of rice and my boyfriend ordered 2 shrimp tacos and 1 fish taco with two horchatas. My tacos were decent, then again I think I was starving, but there wasn't much flavor. I had to add my own lime that I had at home. My boyfriend's fish taco was so salty that he couldn't even finish it and the shrimp was just ehhh. The rice was hard and they serve store bought chips. Probably the worst super taco I have ever had. First of all, nothing "super" about it including, taste, size, toppings. They served it on a small tortilla and failed to put cream and guacamole on it (at least not the quality I am accustomed to). I went back to the counter to show them and the cashier offered to put more on including shredded cheese but he used his hand that had been touching cash register and money...gross. The sour cream was runny like it had been watered down so it dripped right off the taco and the same went for the guacamole... terrible. Their chips look like they came out of bulk packaging like you'd get at Costco....cheap, cheap, cheap quality. The horchata was just OK. ..nothing to write home about. It's a small hole in the wall place with no public restrooms... Surprised that the city of Pleasanton would allow this place to be here for 20 years. Not coming back, I had the exact same meal at another taqueria in Downtown Pleasanton and it was so much better all the way around, including service AND they had a restroom to boot! read more
