    Cheese Enchilada

Second time here and it was still as good as last time! We ordered the chips and salsa (which are not free here), but the salsa was amazing. I loved it! I ordered the cheese enchilada plate. I loved their red sauce. The plate was great. It was busy when we got there, we put our name on the list and was told it would be a 25 minute wait. We run to the restroom and we were called on the way back to the front podium. It was only about a 5-10 minute wait at the most. It's a cute little restaurant on the riverwalk. Definitely a must in San Antonio!

OMGosh!!! It was my first time eating here and it was hands down delicious!!! My dish was only $13 and the chips and salsa were $2 and worth every penny of it. The service was EXCELLENT. Matthew was amazing. He answered every question and served with such excellence. The next time I am downtown I will definitely be returning here for authentic Mexican food. The scenery was great. Thank you for such great service. Blessings!

This was recommended by our Lyft driver. We were told that this is one of the oldest restaurants on the Riverwalk upon entering we were seated and given the option of that are inside they didn't have any reservations online, so we decided to walk up the view is beautiful of the Riverwalk. The stack were friendly. The decor fit with the overall theme of the restaurant and they even had some musicians going around singing and playing instruments while you ate. The food is where they lost the stars the food was not good at all, and neither were the drinks to our liking it's great for the location, but wasn't our favorite I hope that you enjoy.

Wife and I stopped in for lunch. Loved the outdoor seating and the view of the Riverwalk was breathtaking. We were immediately seated and the service from beginning to end was exceptional. Both of our meals were excellent! Highly recommend!

While on our River Walk Cruise, we noticed a colorful little Mexican style restaurant and once we docked, headed over to have a drink, a bit to eat and decide our next move. We had a seat at a nice little outdoor table and checked out the menu. Once we got the attention of the wait staff we ordered a flight of multi-flavored Frozen Margaritas and a Botanas Platter consisting of Pollo Poppers, Mini Beef Quesadillas and stuffed Jalapenos along with guacamole and sour cream. The Botanas Platter was light but a bit unexciting/bland so we chose not to have an entrée and continued to sip our Frozen Margaritas on this warm day. All the flavors were delicious and refreshing. I do understand that they were a bit busy, but trying to get the attention of our server was a definite chore and the wait staff did not seem to be terribly interested in assisting anyone or getting the orders out to their customers in a timely manner. This was also the first Mexican Restaurant that did not offer complimentary chips and salsa/queso to their customers. We did find that rather odd. Overall Casa Rio was ok, but the lack of service and disinterest in their customers really put us off but we really did enjoy the flight of frozen Margaritas.

Yup Nope NOT IT!!! Such low star reviews tells you just the truth here! Sometimes I give them the benefit of the doubt and try it out and the food is amazing but NOPE! NOT HERE!!! Service isn't good, they lag in paying attention you walking around looking for someone to help you, and DON'T speak Spanish? Yeah right, that's straight out embarrassment because your showing your are embarrassed of your heritage! The food is nasty !! The only good thing was the salsa, and my drink but the rest!? Bland, greasy, couldn't figure out what was inside flautas, and what should have been chicken poppers. Jalapeño poppers were super sour, you know why? Because it's the jalapeño in a can "vinegar" that's not how you make the poppers!!! I saw the pics of foods and I was just not into them! Not appetizing at all!!!!! But let's try it out right? Regrets!!! All the way Oh and the menus are nasty! Dirty, greasy and I don't even wanna know what that was

This Mexican restaurant, one of the oldest eateries in San Antonio, is huge and located at the Riverwalk. We came on a weeknight and scored a table right along the river; you can't beat the ambience. The chips and salsa were good and the additional guacamole we ordered was excellent. I ordered crispy tacos (2) which had flavorfully seasoned ground beef as well as cheese, lettuce, and pieces of tomato. Basic but good. The rice and beans on the plate were standard fare. I also got a horchata, which was superbly made. Service was efficient and professional. While they do have indoor seating, it's best experienced on a warm night sitting outdoors by the river, surrounded by lights and boats floating by.

Delicious! We walked by and decided to have lunch. Sat outside on the riverwalk. Service was friendly and quick. I got the street taco trio and it was so flavorful! I'd get it again. I also got a Paloma, it was good but a little weak. Is it worth the drive?...yes

The server was very friendly. Not sure if I just ordered the wrong things or what but was not impressed. The queso was yellow. The elote had spice but no flavor and the chips that came with it were just soggy in oil. The drink was ok.

A great option to peoplewatch, dine or enjoy a happy hour sitting by the riverwalk. They have mariachi offering to play at your request - pay per song. The place is large with private dining halls, Riverwalk sitting both indoor and outdoor and a couple floors/levels. The food is your typical Mexican (americanised) food but it's good and the staff are nice. Most people uber/lyft to the area due to limited parking but they do have a small back parking lot if you're driving. Being by the riverwalk, the spaces are narrow and there are a lot of stairs to go up or down so be prepared to walk. I did notice an elevator nearby which would make certain levels handicap accessible. Something to note, we had a large party in a private catered room and had a lot of food leftover. But after we were done we weren't allowed to take leftovers home, we were told to-go containers were not available for us. Also once we exited the private dining room, we lost access to the restroom.

We dined in Saturday evening just before 6PM. We were seated immediately. Our server took several minutes to greet us--we had to ask another server to help us. Once our server arrived, she was attentive and responsive. The food was served hot and was flavorful. This is a good Tex-Mex restaurant. The servers are dressed in Mexican style tops and skirts, they look cute! They played Spanish music on the speakers and there was a trio of mariachis that came around asking if we wanted them to sing for us. We kindly declined.

The restaurant didn't not live up to the hype. The food was bland and not authentic. Great customer service was rendered ; however, I wouldn't recommend. I didn't enjoy my meal; however the restaurant has great guacamole and offer a complimentary souvenir picture.

Had the deluxe plate for lunch today. Cheese enchilada covered in their red sauce and then lots of melted cheese. Inside the red corn tortilla rolled up was more cheese as well as onions and small carrot chunks. This was really tasty. Then tried the tamale, sadly not that good. Very old tasting and just did not give off a fresh sense to it. Chili con carne, was ok. Flavor was bland to not so good. Rice was average and the refried beans were ok but nothing to write home about. The appetizer that comes with this meal was chips and queso as well as a guacamole salad. Both of these were ok. Queso was pre poured over top of the very small plate of chips. Guacamole salad filled the small plate but I am not a fan of guacamole anyway. Queso had a nice flavor just wish it was temperature was hot. But I still ate it. Service was good, took a little bit to get their attention to pay out. Place is noisy, especially when the mariachi band plays. A little hurtful to be honest.

I decided to stay in the city longer to check out this place. This restaurant is huge and the wait was 45 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. We used our waiting time to stroll through the Mercado across the way. Once the table was ready, my friend got a text. I always wanted to try menudo every Mexican restaurant I go to. But not until I saw the sign on the back cover. This restaurant is under the same owner as Pico de Gallo. Omg. I just had their menudo the day before. No thanks. I decided to order fajita chicken salad. The portion was really small. The food only filled a half of the fried salad bowl. I asked to put cheese on the side. It may had it look more but I don't eat cheese as much. I was glad that dressing was on the side. Which was too salty for me. So, if the food was the same as other chain, we could have eaten there which was closer to the hotel. But I noticed the difference was the servers. Our waitress was cuter and very polite. My friends kept teasing her. She kept good manner and responded back with a smile "uhhh no". Hahaha.

There's such a wonderful selection, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. That really makes a difference for a family outing! And oh my goodness, the appetizers are simply fantastic. We couldn't get enough! I also have to give a special shout-out to the Carrajillo I ordered. It was such a delightful surprise - perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, with a lovely citrusy kick that made it incredibly refreshing. Definitely a new favorite drink! Just a little heads-up for anyone else, we realized on our way out that there's an extra parking lot right across the street if the main one fills up. Super handy to know!

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
