My new go-to place for when I'm craving Mexican (which is all of the time)! This place is super unassuming but the food is delicious, prices are good and the service is really great. I highly recommend the Al pastor tacos and the nachos! Will be back to try more things on the menu but super impressed!

As an out-of-towner, I really enjoyed the tacos at Metro Balderas. I loved the vibes & the decor of the establishment & the staff were very friendly! I will definitely be back next time I am in town!

Call ahead to place my order. Order was ready when i went to pick up. Good tacos and fast service.

Love coming here for lunch! I work down the street so it's an easy pick for lunch lol. I recommend calling in your order especially if you are tight on time because one time I waited almost 15-20 min for a few tacos. Their asada is amazing! I love their super burritos. But the tacos are really good too. I usually love pastor but I wouldnt mind getting asada here. Pretty affordable price as well. Whenever I get a super burrito I CAN finish it but i get so full.

Adding to my previous review: I never tire of coming here. The food quality remains the same; portions are substantial, prices are affordable, sauces are delicious, and service is good.

Tacos were great. We tried pollo asada, carne asada and al pastor - everything had good flavor and wasn't dry. They give you a good amount of meat in each taco and the price is pretty good. They also include some sautéed onions and peppers with your order. Refried Beans and Rice were really good. The only thing we wish is that the salsa was better. The salsa that we got with our chips tasted like tomato sauce. And then the salsas we got with our tacos (red and green) were both too spicy for me. Maybe someone else would like it more. But the only thing I had was the tomato sauce one. Nice people. Clean restaurant.

The inside is super nice and homey while also a great sit-down restaurant. The menu is extensive and easy to read and the cashier was very helpful in answering our questions. I'm usually not a fan of nopales but this was so good! Nice and tender, not stringy or soggy at all. I will say my only thing was the brisket tacos were a little dry, but the sauces they brought out really made up for it

Service here was great. Everyone spoke perfect English and I think food is authentic. Ambiance is nothing to talk about. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Surprisingly my meal came with a side of chips and salsa. I asked for water and it was served in a small plastic cup. The workers there make good eye contact but I guess I should've hollered for a refill. Unfortunately, their carne asada plate just didn't do it for me. The beans and rice were standard. The beef was charred well, but it didn't get much flavor. I tried putting the green sauce and other sauces but it just didn't work for me. It came with fresh handmade tortillas though and you have the option for corn/flour. They came piping hot. I still like this place, and I want to order more familiar dishes like tacos next time. Maybe try their burrito or mix/match various items. I almost gave this place 3 stars for lack of flavor but it could just be my savory palate.

Service was quick despite the lunch hour. I got the carnitas and asada tacos. Both were delicious and they didn't skimp on the toppings. The grilled onions added a sweet smokiness to tacos. I wish they provided limes but I got lemons. Plenty of dining tables inside as well.

Plenty of parking available since the restaurant is in a strip mall. It wasn't too busy when we got there, but then it started picking up. There was only one server working and she was really hustling to meet everyone's needs. Plus, she was friendly. I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Both of the desserts were so good and a perfect touch of sweetness.

It is not what I consider authentic Mexican food.

We waited 1.5 hours to be seated while half the restaurant sat empty. After we were seated, it took about 30 minutes for anyone to ask if we wanted drinks, another 30 minutes before our order was taken, and then an hour for the food to arrive. Throughout the wait, several servers were gathered in the corner talking and laughing while tables--including ours--were left unattended. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the service. The meat was dry, lacked flavor, and the shrimp was so chewy that I couldn't finish it. It was honestly one of the worst shrimp dishes I've ever been served. I've seen countless influencers giving this place glowing reviews, and after eating here, I simply don't believe them. My experience was the complete opposite. If you appreciate good food and good service, I would strongly recommend spending your money somewhere else.

The staff were attentive, gave great menu recommendations, and constantly came by to refill our water. Very spacious dining room. We started with the Queso Fundido, served on a small hot plate with chilis, garlic, and oil on top. It's basically a block of cheese served with chips. Even with the hot plate, it didn't stay gooey for long, but it was a pretty good starter. The Coconut Campachano was creamy and refreshing. It also came with chips, though ours seemed like crumbs from the bottom of the barrel. We got the Trompo tacos and Sautéed Shrimp tacos. Both were tasty, and the tortillas seemed fresh. My wife is Latina, so we're pretty familiar with authentic Latin/Mexican flavors, and from the moment we walked in, we were a little unsure of what to expect. We completely understand we're in Willow Glen and that Copita is going for a more upscale take, but for us, authenticity and flavor still have to be at the heart of the experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, and this review is absolutely not a reflection of her service. However, when we asked about the style of the food, there seemed to be a little hesitation in explaining it, which made us even more uncertain about what we had gotten ourselves into. I don't like bashing restaurants or their food, so I'll simply say that, unfortunately, the highlight of our meal was the chips and salsa. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good and definitely not shy on the alcohol! Also, don't expect large portions. The restaurant is clearly aiming for a more upscale presentation and experience, so the plates reflect that. Overall, Copita just wasn't for us. This was our first visit and unfortunately will probably be our last. I genuinely wish them success, but I think a few changes, especially when it comes to the flavors and authenticity of the food could make a big difference.
