Walked past this spot and had to stop! It was so cute - I felt transported to southern Italy. The host was extremely welcoming. The Campari spritz hit the spot. The outside seating was perfect to watch the bustle and energy of that great neighborhood. We were going to a dinner party so didn't eat. But we will be back to do so soon.

We ended up walking into Casa Salvo this weekend and were pleasantly surprised to see the owner on-site--always a good sign. The space is open, breezy, and perfect for summer dining. It has a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to settle in. Service was just okay--friendly, but clearly understaffed, which slowed things down a bit. Also, like others mentioned, they don't serve tap water, which felt a bit unnecessary. Now, the food: The special fritters were just average (6.5/10) The gnocchi was excellent (9/10) And the Cacio e Pepe prepared in the cheese wheel (8/10) was worth every penny--rich, creamy, and super satisfying. Overall, the food holds up against any top-rated spot in the area, and the lack of a wait makes it a great spontaneous option. Would come back, especially for that gnocchi.

CasaSalvo is a hidden gem in SoHo! Chef Salvo welcomed us personally and made sure we had a great table. The food was excellent, the service attentive, and the atmosphere elegant yet warm and intimate. Genuine hospitality from beginning to end--we will definitely return!

Prosciutto with melon and orange foam

My family and I LOVED our meal here. To preface our review, I would like to add this sentiment: after looking at some of the 1 star reviews, we cannot stress enough how much we disagree with them! Our waiter was kind, attentive, and opened the restaurant early for us to have a quick lunch. We were allowed to order tap water (despite what some 1 star reviews say...) without any problem or hesitation. I ordered the prosciutto with melon and orange foam. It was incredible! The foam was light and airy with the perfect amount of orange infusion. My mom got the burrata with a glass of one of their merlots. The merlot was light and earthy, the waiter did an excellent job selecting it for her. My grandmother ordered an espresso and said it was one of the best. After hearing her compliments, our waiter gave us a FREE mokavit coffee maker. We literally could not believe it when he said it was for her. Despite our objections, he insisted that she have it so she could taste the best Italian coffee at home. Finally, the decor was so beautiful and every tiny detail sparkled. For example, even the napkin rings had a monogrammed brass pendant on it with the restaurant's name. My family personally loved the old school Italian music as well. Although other reviewers called the music selection "tacky," my family and I thought it was endearing and lovely. Because we are not local to NYC, it might be a while until we are back. However, I urge you to try this restaurant. It was incredible and we cannot wait until our next trip so we can come back!!!

I tried the carpaccio, lamb, and cacio a pepe and all 3 were delicious-the truffle wagyu carpaccio being my favorite. The menu had quite a lot to choose from and the atmosphere was great, upscale but not uptight, this is a beautiful restaurant especially with the windows open on a nice night. The service was good and sommelier knowledgeable and helpful. I was so excited to try Casasalvo but dissappointed when told Chef Salvo Lo Castro was there! but he was too busy to come out despite there only being a few tables late on a Monday night.

    Beautiful tables!

Absolutely amazing! The atmosphere, the food, the wine, the staff; from the moment we entered to the time we left, Everything was absolutely perfect! Thank you for a lovely reprieve from the rain

I really enjoyed my cacio y Pepe! One of my favorite Italian restaurants in NYC! I also had a Negroni with bourbon which was amazing. The bartender was also really cute which didn't hurt either. Would def recommend !

I cannot say enough about this amazing restaurant. We are truly lucky to have this in the neighborhood. The chef here worked at the Vatican in Rome and at Michelin restaurants. The service was amazing. Steven was the waiter. Everything absolutely everything was perfection. The food combinations are exquisite. I had the egg in a lemon cream sauce with truffles...divine. Agnolitto pasta in a butter and sage sauce....heavenly. The meatballs were delicious and being Sicilian I can honestly say they are definitely the same you would get in Italy. They have many different choices for drinks I had an amazing red wine. For dessert I had the cannolis.... The filling was homemade ricotta and you can definitely taste the difference between these cannolis and cannolis at other restaurants..... I also had coffee.... And the coffee even was amazing. I cannot say enough about the food the service and the beautiful restaurant. I will definitely be going back.

When we entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to the restaurant, we were delighted to find free wine provided for us to pour in the elevator. Admittedly, it was red wine, so not my favorite, and it did taste cheap, but still appreciated. To start off, we ordered the onion torta, focaccia, and smashed potatoes. The onion torta was surprisingly good and tasted like a form of french onion soup. As a focaccia enthusiast, the focaccia was fluffy and delicious. We also got the charred beans, carrots, ravioli, tagliatelle, ravioli, and trout to share. The charred beans were surprisingly the long beans and not the smaller ones we expected. However, they were very juicy and better than we thought they would be. The rigatoni resembled cacio e pepe with its pepperiness, the tagliatelle tasted like standard red sauce, but i did enjoy the ravioli and the ricotta inside. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

This means those dishes aren't truly gluten free for people with celiac disease or anyone who has to avoid gluten. When I pointed that out to my server, he just gave me a blank stare. I tried to explain why labeling those items as gluten free is misleading, but he seemed completely disinterested, even annoyed, dismissed what I was saying, and simply responded that the pasta is gluten free. I acknowledged that the server doesn't write the menu, but absolutely zero customer service skills. The service overall was lacking. Aside from taking our order, no one checked on us or came back to see if we needed anything. Our server was just hanging out chatting up the hostess. We had to request the bill from the manager & paid at the hostess stand. Before paying, I spoke with the manager and explained what had occured. He was more professional than the server, but he was still dismissive of my concerns and of the service we received. Management seemed happy enough to promote the "option". The food was okay, definitely not enough to make up for the poor service and handling of a serious dietary issue. Needless to say I will not be returning.
