Holy cow! We came here because we had been a loyal customer of the West 4th street restaurant with a similar name. Well...this was just as good! The noise level was a little high but we sat in the corner and could be heard and hear no problem. The tables and chairs (no cushions) were comfortable enough. Lighting was ok d/t mostly to outside NYC lights bathing the table. The service was perfect--they came by to see how we were doing a few times...hooray and kudos. The baked clams were a little crumbly but delicious and the sauce was to die for. The portion and presentation were perfect. The veal parmigiana was one of the best ever. The crust was adherent and neither too thin nor too thick--just right. The cheese and sauce were also in just the right amounts. The veal, crust, cheese and sauce were all cooked perfectly and seasoned with care only a long tenured chef could accomplish! The bolognese tagliatelle was cooked just right--neither mushy nor tough. The three meats were like a medley in my mouth with flavors that couldn't be beat. The waitstaff and maitre de' cared, they cared a lot that people had a great experience. We will be coming back!!!!

Skirt steak

Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! Came for nyc restaurant week which was an amazing deal for an established restaurant like this with prices I wouldn't normally entertain. We were immediately greeted with focaccia and a complimentary cheese plate. For my starter, I got the watermelon beet salad which was so fresh! It appeared to be smaller than the normal menu item and missing the lettuce base but was still filling. This was likely due to it being part of restaurant week. For my main, I got the potato tortellini which was absolutely delicious and so fluffy. My friend ordered the skirt steak which she enjoyed. For dessert, I got the bread pudding which was very good while my friend had the flourless cheesecake. All in all, our meal was very tasty and I look forward to coming back to try their pre-fix menu which comes as a decent price and contains many more meal options compared to the restaurant week menu!

Five stars! The service is top notch. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. The table received a condiment tray with olives, an eggplant spread and radishes. They also left a bread plate with the most delicious focaccia I've ever had. We also ordered the prosciutto and fig plate. The figs were so fresh and plump and the prosciutto was A+ imported ham that was the perfect accompaniment to the figs. My chicken parmigiana fit the entire plate. I ordered a side of linguine with red sauce that was one of the best in NYC! Our table also ordered Chilean sea bass and prime rib. The amount of food provided was enough for twice the people at our table. From start to finish, this was a delicious experience and I'm looking forward to returning!!

This was a phenomenal meal with amazing wine list. I wish the prices weren't quite as staggering especially for those of us on our own without a dining partner.

This is a small and cozy place with a lot of ambience. We sat at the bar and had a drink before we moved to a table for dinner. Our lobster salad was fantastic, the truffle patatine was excellent and we loved the NY Strip (shared). Yes, we will be back!

Friday night dinner around 7pm, not too busy. Sat outside and was the only table. Service was great at the beginning and then started to wane. Ordered wine and steak, didn't expect to have a mini meat & cheese board show up, and didn't eat too much as I needed to save room for the steak. Steak arrived and was delicious as anticipated with truffle butter and I love truffle butter. Brussel sprouts seemed more boiled vs roasted without a real good char on the outside and minimal crunch. After the food arrived is when the service disappeared. Even after the meal was done and glass of wine empty, I had to call someone over to provide the check. I'd maybe try at a busier time where other tables are outside as I think the table was 'forgotten'.

SO great! I went here for NYC restaurant week and absolutely loved it. Was able to get an app, entree and dessert for $60. Would highly recommend splitting the cacio e Pepe and strip as both were delicious. We also did the $30 wine pairing which was a nice added bonus. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about everything.

This restaurant is really charming. I'm really unsure of why it doesn't have at least a solid four stars. The service was impeccable. It was honestly a very good experience. The decor was lovely and charming. The octopus the steak, the crabcake, they knocked it out of the park.

We came to Il Mulino Prime to celebrate Christmas Eve and they went above and beyond to accommodate our requests- created additional seating at our table and even allowed our little pug dine in with us. The food and the service were excellent and the ambiance was Christmassy and festive. We were a party of eight and every dish we tried was delicious and amazing. My truffle ravioli dish was absolutely sublime. Loved everything about this place! We dined at the Miami location several times before so we were really excited to try the Soho store. We were not disappointed!

I loved the food here it was amazing! The service be ambience the waiters the wine list and it was so intimate and quiet Great place to bring a date I will definitely be going back. Definitely try The tomato salad and the New York strip was perfect A friend of mine had the pork chop perfect as well and my other friend had the oxtail ragu which I need to get next time I go. Definitely check out the menu and see what you like you would definitely have a favorite.

We came here for restaurant week and the foods did not disappoint! We were seated by the windows which gave us great lighting and enjoyed our lunch while watching the street. Everything we ordered came out great! Next time we will definitely need to try the steak because the table next to us have it and it looks so mouth watering. On the down it seems like there was only one waiter when we arrived and we had trouble waving him down for water since it got pretty busy.

This is a $5 glass of tap water...! Yes $5
Enrique G.

Definitely not for your everyday dining. It is on the very expensive side... I had never ever paid $5 for a single glass of tap water which they didn't ever tried to refill and at $5a pop... they did me a favor. The food is exceptional and truth be told when they are already charging $67 for a10oz. Steak,i think there's no need to try and do the extra un necessary charges. The scorch out is generous enough to justify the price, the salad, Branzino and the meat are so good and of such good quality that makes it all worth it.. Even the self imposed 23%to on a 3 person table. Ve prepared to shell out $100 plus for a one and half plate dinner.

Once we were sat, they gave us an overview of the menu, the highlights, and specials that weren't on the menu including Tomahawk steak, rock shrimp appetizer, side of corn and more. We opted for the 1/2 dozen oysters, Porterhouse for 2, and a side of spinach and roasted corn. Everything was exceptional and a good portion for 2 people. For dessert, we ordered their special, Tiramisu, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, they gave us a lava cake on the house which made our night even more special. I would definitely come back here to try a new cut of steak and reorder some of their sides.

The place is beautiful, I love the ambiance and I love being able to see the cuts of meat from the window outside. I opted for the filet mignon from the lunch special menu, medium, while my fiancé got a NY sirloin, medium rare. However, we got a very bloody red filet mignon and a pinkish sirloin. Iykyk. The food was good and other than that mistake, I have nothing to say about it, delicious drinks, too. One of the best dirty martinis found in the city. HOWEVER. We sat down at 2:15, and got our food at 3:20. It took a long time both to order and to receive our dishes. I understand being busy but we left the restaurant at 4:35

I sat at the bar, since it was only me, but tho the bar wasn't busy and service was friendly, it was very slow. The food was wonderful! I'm glad I made the choices I did, tho of course nothing I wanted was included in the happy hour specials. The fried calamari was some of the best I've had tho it was observed with a little bit of cocktail sauce and a huge thing of tartar sauce. I'm sure I could have gotten more cocktail sauce, since I don't like tartar sauce, but it wasn't necessary. The calamari was so good. The lobster bisque was delicious and the picture can't show you that it was full of lobster. There was a LOT more lobster than a lobster bisque normally contains and the price was about normal for a lobster bisque with one tiny piece of lobster. The iced tea was a bit out of control. If I'm going to be charged $5 per glass of iced tea, that glass should be larger than the ones they use AND not 90% ice. That much for a glass of ice with a splash of iced tea is extreme. I'd still return, since the food was wonderful and hopefully I just got unlucky with the service.
