Pasta limone
Jessica K.

Tried this place out with my family for my dad's birthday. Place is very small and seems to do a lot of business, so it was loud and everyone was packed pretty tightly together. Service wasn't great, we had to wave down the waiter any time we need something, whether it be napkins or drinks. Food was good, not amazing. The pizza had a soupy top, soft bottom, and the cheese slid right off. Roasted chicken was mainly dark meat, the onion bread thing didn't have any flavor beyond onion, no other spices. The lemon pasta was very zesty and bright with the lemon flavor. Tiramisu for dessert was really good, although we didn't order it outright, but merely said the name when asking for the dessert menu. Some employee had told my mother they would bring my dad something on the house for his birthday, so we thought it was that until the bill came and saw a charge for $15. Glad to have tried this place, but wasn't blown away by the experience. And a B health rating if you judge by that sort of thing.

Rigatonti with added ricotta
Brooke B.

We got garlic bread, rigatoni and mashed potatoes. The dishes were overall good but I think overly priced for what it is. It was about $10 extra to add ricotta to the pasta dish. Attentive staff.

Claudio was an amazing server! So friendly, kind, and knew all about the history of the restaurant, which was fun as we were from out of town and were interested in knowing! The food was absolutely amazing, and the restaurant was cozy and comforting. Highly recommend this place!!

Idk what has been going on in New York lately, but it is proving impossible to walk into a restaurant on a weekday night and get a seat. Sometimes, I don't want to make a reservation, I just want to let the spirits guide me. Some people do it by the book but I prefer to go by feel... All this to say, my Lil Cuzzo and I were reject from the following places on a mf Wednesday night: Shuka, Raku, Pinch, Port Sa'id, RedFarm, and Little Owl before we were finally seated outdoor at Daddies. Well to be fair, RedFarm was closed and Little Owl had horrendous vibes as, while standing outside waiting to see if there was room, a homeless lady HURLED an empty wine bottle at us that shattered at our feet while screaming gibberish at the top of her lungs. She had an ARM on her honestly. Thank God she didn't aim for the head, it would have been CURTAINS. Well I would have slipped it no problem, my quick twitch muscle fiber is ELITE. All this to say, we dipped on Little Owl. The omens clearly didn't want us there. After getting our steps in and licking our wounds from constant rejection and shards of glass, Lil Cuzzo and I were finally seated on the heated outdoor patio at Daddies. We immediately ordered glasses of chilled red wine trying to process what happened. HUGE props to Daddies for having chilled red cuz lord knows we needed it BAD. Chilled reds don't get the proper love they deserve. Lil Cuzzo, while rubbing glass out of her eye, put it so eloquently when she said "It's not like we were trying to walk into Carbone..." We ordered the Daddies Salad, a Prosciutto Pizza, and the Rigatoni Al Ragu. The Salad was an assortment of fresh veggies and a great way to start the meal. The meatballs in the Rigatoni were a necessary touch. The Prosciutto Pizza was fantastic, with the crust being the standout. Good crust is harder to come by then people wanna talk about.... Overall the food was pretty damn good, especially given how negative these other reviews seem to be. I think the negativity is mostly due to being cash only, which I do kind of agree with lol. You gotta be LIKE THAT to be cash only. You gotta be Casa Adela level for people to be cool with cash only. I will leave you with the wise words of Draymond Green: "Chasing that cash only payment?? They don't love you like that. You can't get no cash only payment. They don't love you like that ... You thought you was Casa Adela!?!" IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Pretty snug and felt crammed in there but the food was fantastic and the interior decor was very cute- I love the wall of family photos old and new. The ordered a few pastas, meatballs, a burrata pizza from the specials menu and some other sides for the table. Couldn't pick a favorite and I can't wait to be back to try more items on the menu! Staff was hospitable and food came out quickly. Sangria was pretty bland so go for the normal wine over the sangria for sure!

Their famous SPAGHETTI LIMONE is one of the most bland, tasteless pasta dishes I've ever consumed. I also got a wild mushroom pasta and also...really dry and flavorless. I'm giving this place 2 stars as the servers were very kind and attentive. For the price of the dishes compared to the quality... it's not worth it.

Very tasty chicken parm and delish lemon pasta on a summer Friday.

TGIF and you want the privilege of sitting outside on Hudson Street inhaling the exhaust, you need Daddies. Much more than a pizza shop, lunch starts around $20 pp but you will have your choice of tables and the service is swift, which is appreciated at lunch hour. No one was around so can't tell you about ambiance! Enjoyed our two shared platters and what more can you ask for at a $50 lunch. We hear that this is a popular night spot so will come back after dark sometime.

First - only marking down a star bc it's expensive / cash only. That being said, most good Italian spots are over priced and a lot of NYC spots are cash only. If you're thinking about trying Daddie's - just do it. You can go wrong with anything on the menu! My absolute favorite dish is the spaghetti limone, it's addicting and I think about it often. But you truly can't go wrong, their apps are good, their pizzas are amazing and altho I normally get the limone, other macaronis I've tried are also good. + love a place that gives you bread and olive oil (bonus, delicious olives). I think they only serve wines and beer, no cocktails.

The best "non-wowing" Italian... as good as it can be before being "wowed," akin to finding the best plain white t-shirt. I love the ambiance; it resembles "this is a labor of love" and a home cooking feeling. The thing that makes Daddies striking is the pizza dough. As far as wood oven pizzas go, the dough itself is among the best I've ever had. It is so pillowy and fluffy, so much so that the middle of the crust almost reminds me of sourdough. The pasta is good, I want to love the pasta limone, but I just don't find it to be anything special. This is Lil Frankie's sister restaurant!!!

Vodka pasta and orange wine

Delicious food. Wow. Service was good. Our waiter walked me through orange wines and let me have a taster since I was unfamiliar. The atmosphere was lively. Most of the seating is outside and on the sidewalk. There's literally two small tables inside. It wasn't that cold the evening we came but they had no heat lamps when I visited in mid October. Hope they bring them out for winter. You are literally seated on the street. Our table was next to a parking meter. I don't know what else says New York dining experience. We ordered the lightning kale. I was so skeptical but it was delicious. I'm only eating kale like this from now on. It was perfectly seasoned and crisp. We also ordered a cheesy bread for a starter. Yum. Bread and cheese. Can't go wrong. I ordered a vodka pasta for my main. Wow, delicious. Scarfed down the whole bowl in a matter of minutes. Pasta was perfectly Al dente and the sauce was tasty and well seasoned. Everyone in my party loved their entrees. All the pasta we tried was excellent. Highly recommend visiting when in New York.

Prosciutto do parma pizza

Came here for dinner on Friday. We made a reservation for 6pm and sat outside in the outdoor structure. They have plenty of heaters so we were very comfortable even on a cool fall evening. Our waiter was great and very attentive. They give you some bread to start. We just stuck with water for our meal. We got the rigatoni al ragu and added the ricotta as well as the prosciutto di parma pizza. The rigatoni was amazing and you must add the ricotta. The pizza was so delicious. The crust was so fluffy. They are cash only which is sad! But just a heads up. They also brought us a complementary tiramisu for our anniversary!

This place definitely deserves 5 stars! Food was delicious and portions were generous. We split as a table pizza, and variety of pasta + the roasted eggplant. Everything was superb and the service was great too! The setting was intimate and cozy, perfect for an evening with coworkers, friends, or even a date night!

Vodka Pizza
Brandon R.

Another absolute banger from the Frank/supper/lil Frankie's crew. Was super stoked to be in NYC as they were opening and it didn't disappoint. We got the shaved fennel, a vodka pie, a Cacio pepe pie, and the lasagna verde. I can't pick one thing that was my favorite because they were all great. The Cacio pepe was absolutely incredible, the sauce on the pizza was incredible. The dough for both pizzas was also incredible with the right amount of char and chew. Can't wait to go back soon!

Food is excellent. However, this place has some of the worst service you could imagine. Go to Frank's other restaurants but avoid this one.

From the sidewalk, the dry aging room pulls you in, it is really a sight to see. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the host and taken to our table. The breads were warm and all delicious! I ordered the Grilled salmon, green salad and asparagus. My mom got a 8oz fillet and green salad. (We should have shared the salad!) everything was amazing! Piping hot! Very flavorful! Unfortunately my mother likes her steak medium well but she said it was very tender even then. (It's an abomination, I know) If you are looking for a special night out, this is definitely the spot. We didn't do drinks but with what we had it was under 200. Not bad honestly, I was expecting and prepared to spend more.

He helped us make the right selection of steak, and appetizer. We were seated with a nice view of the outside promenade. At first glance the dining room didn't seem large but on the trip to the restroom I learned that they can accommodate large groups and have private rooms as well. Restroom was clean and equipped. We ordered the crab cake, 12 oz. filet mignon and lamb chops, and the lemon cake. The crab cake was chocked full of delicious crab meat, not a lot of breading. The steak was flavorful and arrived hot. The double-bone lamb chop entree was enormous, and delicious. It was accompanied by parsnip puree and a mint-pistachio chimichurri, scrumptious!! For my pre-birthday dessert I chose the lemon cake and was delighted to see Gerard had also brought [ME ;) ] us the strawberry Hibiscus cheesecake and I was so happy he did!!! The steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered them--tender, flavorful, and high quality. All of the food had great flavor, and the sides were just as good and easy to share. The only reason this isn't a full 5 stars is that a few small details could have been just a bit tighter. But nothing that took away from the overall experience. Overall, it was a memorable anniversary dinner, and when in Times Square I would definitely visit again.

The fried calamari was some of the best I've had tho it was observed with a little bit of cocktail sauce and a huge thing of tartar sauce. I'm sure I could have gotten more cocktail sauce, since I don't like tartar sauce, but it wasn't necessary. The calamari was so good. The lobster bisque was delicious and the picture can't show you that it was full of lobster. There was a LOT more lobster than a lobster bisque normally contains and the price was about normal for a lobster bisque with one tiny piece of lobster. The iced tea was a bit out of control. If I'm going to be charged $5 per glass of iced tea, that glass should be larger than the ones they use AND not 90% ice. That much for a glass of ice with a splash of iced tea is extreme.
