My boyfriend were recently at the Orlando airport, flying home to Arizona on Southwest. We were hungry and wanted to have dinner at a "sit down" restaurant. There were tons of fast food restaurants in the food court, but we weren't in the mood for fast food. Sometimes you just want to be served! We walked all over the terminal and finally found Cask & Larder. When we checked in with the greeter, she advised there was a 20 minute wait in the restaurant but they had immediate seating in their bar, which was very close by. We wandered over to the bar and found a table next to the window, which overlooked an outdoor garden near the tarmac. Cask & Larder has the same menu at both the airport restaurant and the bar. We were greeted by our server almost immediately and we ordered drinks. For food, I ordered the Impossible Burger with a side salad. My boyfriend ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Both were terrific. Maybe we were just famished, but this meal really hit the spot. Bonus - they also give a discount (upon request) to airline employees. My boyfriend was able to get us a discount on our meal, which is definitely a plus! read more

The most welcome change is that they now offer Pepsi products instead of their own weird sodas. What do you do in the Southwest terminal at Orlando International when you have few options? Cask and Larder appears to be the only non fast food option. Service and food are OK, with nothing in particular to recommend them. I waited five minutes waiting to be seated and another ten for my server to appear after I was seated. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which came quickly in about a cereal bowl sized portion where the bowl is about 1/4 full. The atmosphere was good, but the service was a little lacking....they were friendly, but they did not stop by to ask how the food was tasting or if there was anything that we needed. My water glass sat empty forever, and my server never returned to ask how my food was (see turkey wrap disappointment below). The hushpuppies were enjoyable. The beer was good, cold, and a good size. The disappointment for me was the turkey wrap: it had a great description but it was *way* too dry. The brie spread was applied in small dabs between slices of the turkey, rather than being spread on like one would spread peanut butter or mayo; and these small dabs were *WAY TOO SPARSE* making most bites of the wrap very very dry. C & L would be doing themselves and their customers a great service if they would put 3x the amount of brie spread on the wrap, and/or asking the customers if they would like more spread on the side for them to apply themselves; I am sure your customer enjoyment would also go up by a factor of 3-fold if you did that. As it was, I ended up putting my honey mustard salad dressing on the wrap in order to make it bearable. The one plus to the wrap was that it was very filling and kept me full for the next 5 hours. It may be my mistake for ordering a salad here, but the food was terrible. I ordered the beet salad with shrimp, which was almost $30. The lettuce was wilted and slimy, the shrimp smelled and tasted old, and the avocado was weird- probably frozen and thawed. The service was also very slow which is uncommon at an airport. She never checked on us after we placed our drink order. It took 3 requests to get our check. Cask & Larder is the perfect spot to catch a sit down meal if you have time before your flight. There is a lot of seating and on the various times I have gone, I (or me and my wife) have been seated quickly. Like with anything at the airport you pay a premium for drinks (non or alcoholic), but the food portion and pricing doesn't seem to come with quite the markup. The food usually comes out pretty quick. Service is good and I noticed a lot of the servers helping each other as they each seemed to have numerous tables on this last visit. Whenever we're waiting at MCO this is the place to grab good quality food. The prices are more than fair for the airport. There is table service and they are fast and attentive. The seating area is always busy but it's nice that because it's table service you have your own given table. They have a fantastic burger that's my go to each time i have a later flight. Like most folks, we bellied up to a table at Cask & Larder, which is located in the Southwest Terminal at MCO, to grab a quick bite before our flight. They are known for their southern cuisine, which they describe as "Farm to Terminal", which is a pretty cute play on things given their location! They have a pretty large section of the space in this terminal as C&L features an open dining room flush with tables and shared communal seating, a nice bar and even a market. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner along with offering a full bar to wash it all down with. Even if it is 9:00 AM, get that beer...the airport is a lawless place and you deserve it! Our flight out brought us here around 7:30 AM on a Thursday, so we hit the breakfast menu pretty hard. As a table we had the Eggs Your Way, Breakfast Bowl, a Sausage Biscuit and an Omelet, all served with hashbrowns. For the most part, everyone enjoyed their meals. The sausage biscuit was just two small patties between a dry biscuit unfortunately. It was palatable, and made do for a quick pre-flight snack. Service was decent. We were helped by a few different folks, all of which were helpful and friendly. Only thing I warn about here is the birds...which are not in their direct control. Due to their outdoor and woodsy theme that features faux trees and greenery, a set of small birds have made themselves home above the tables and on occasion, have been known to poo on diners. While I have never been hit, a fellow diner a table over wasn't so lucky. Overall, solid spot in MCO that I am happy to swing by again! read more

If you find you have time, I really recommend the sit down. I have eaten there a few times now and have always been pleasantly pleased with their food. My friend adores their oatmeal. The quick service offers exactly what you would expect, grab and go items like beverages, snacks, and sandwiches and a counter that you can order hot food from. One coworker ordered the pork belly tacos, and the other ordered the shrimp and grits with an extra side salad. For an appetizer, we got the fried pickles. That, in and of itself, isn't an issue, but the servers were not very attentive. Flying Southwest? Get to the airport a bit early or have some time to kill? Then have a seat at Cask & Larder and enjoy a meal sitting down and chilling for a bit instead of trying to wheel your suitcase while carrying a Chipotle bag to a table. These are the folks that brought The Ravenous Pig to Orlando (which is the first nice romantic dinner I had in Orlando many years ago) and brew their own beers in Winter Park, FL. This offshoot which now only exists at the airport has a neat mix of food from which to choose. I've had a few meals here (their biscuits and gravy are so good) and have enjoyed them all. Recently, I had the hot chicken sandwich as I was heading to Nashville. Let's just say it wasn't not at all. It was a good sandwich, just wasn't spicy in the slightest. I had a nice C&L Saison to wash it down though. What was particularly excellent during a pandemic where every place is short staffed was the waitress. This is a lovely, restful, spacious restaurant in Orlando airport Terminal A with an open air feeling & a large inviting tree as focal point. With a couple errant birds in the building, they are attracted to the tree & provide the nature sounds which had me questioning whether this was a partial imitation of Disney's Tree of Life. I was in on an early flight & 2 hr. layover, craving breakfast, which they serve until 10am. This sit down restaurant was just perfect. Shrimp & Grits (with fried egg & corn & sweet pepper salsa) caught my eye. When I ordered it, server Joe recommended the house made bacon jam side (merely 49c upcharge on $17 meal), with at least $3 worth of bacon in it! The entire dish was quality and the Bacon Jam delicious and the best deal EVER in an airport! Due to a VERY unexpected/extended layover in Orlando, I decided to find a spot to grab a bite to eat. I also needed an adult beverage or 2 as well. I was immediately seated by the hostess. It was good to see all the staff correctly wearing masks as well as other safety measures being implemented. Time to order. None of their entrees stood out to me nor was I in the mood for a burger or any other sandwich. As you can see in my photos, I ordered a side of fries and an order of brussel sprouts. This ended up being the perfect meal!!! The perfect overpriced meal once you add in the $21 9 oz pour and $9 IPA! Lol. All jokes aside , the Brussels were absolutely amazing! The right amount of seasoning and the right amount of tender , crispy ratio. And the fries were golden brown and extremely fresh! So, no complaints on the quality of the food. I loved the atmosphere inside restaurant. I didn't feel like I was sitting at the airport. Which was a plus! The tabletop seating areas had plugs so you could easily charge your phone. Unfortunately , my table didn't have that capability. Overall, the food and overpriced drinks were enjoyed. My server, Angel was slow to come back to check on me but he was at some point playing bartender as well. I am sure he was stretched thin but he was not a bad server at all. And then complained that her tip wasn't big enough at 10% for being largely ignored. Strong suggestion would be have dinner somewhere else. For airport food the restaurant is at best okay.
