My wife and I went out to celebrate my birthday and a few days earlier I heard the owner of Castellis getting interviewed on the radio saying how great the food was. The service was on point. Food was great and very fresh and authentic. We were sat in the front area that felt a little fast foodish which wasn't as nice as inside. The drinks that came from the bar were not so good. Bartenders nowadays need to learn the art of quality control and sample drinks before the go out. All in all this is a great Italian restaurant and I will defiantly return plus we already recommended it to some people. read more

Baltimore, and in fact the entire Chesapeake Bay, is known for their blue crab. They have made the crab cake famous. Well done delicious, plump, fresh lump crab cakes can be found in many restaurants in the area. Sadly, what passes for a crab cake at Castellis is an embarrassing imitation and should be avoided. I would guess that the creator of Castellis version has never had a "real" crab cake. Even the menu description is confused. The genuine crab meat is the lump from a blue crab, not a blue lump! On the other hand, Castellis Osso Bucco is outstanding. Go to Castellis just for that veal delight - delicious, best in the west. read more

Came here because someone gave us a gift card. We checked yelp and their website for information. Tried to make reservations on open table but we couldn't. Everything we read said they were open. We pull up the the front door and there is a sign that they are closed till August 31. Thanks for the heads up! If a restaurant knows they are closed for a long time they need to update that information. read more

This has got to be one of the finest dining experiences. Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavors. Fettuccine Alfredo was so good. Rigatoni con broccoli was nice too. Tiramisu to top it off. Bruschetta was excellent with tomatoes coated with balsamic and just the right amount of basil. Caesar salad was fresh, as though it was freshly plucked lettuce with delicious dressing. Although we ended the evening on good service, it started off pretty bad. I don't know because we had children with us, but we were not greeted with smiles or eye contact. We felt like a bother to the waiter. He warmed up to us and that was good, but I really had to kill him with kindness to get him to switch. The food was okay. My husband wanted Italian food. We went on yelp and found this restaurant was close to our hotel. My husband wanted to try it and made a reservation. Service- Overall, it was good. We arrived and were promptly seated. I wouldn't say the waiter went above and beyond. I also didn't feel the Italian hospitality I've felt during other travels. Let's just say they did their job. They seem to be friendlier to the locals. Food- Good pasta and flavorful. My husband liked it. I've had better but you might come to a different conclusion. We came for a romantic evening, and great food + service. I and my love celebrated our Anniversary here for our get-a-way from L.A. . Palm Springs is our easy drive go to drive go to. We made our reservation a week in advance . When we walked in we were immediately seated. This was our 2nd visit, our first being after getting the all clear after COVID isolation. Our table host Gabriel took our order after informing us if the marvelous specials. Once we ordered the efficient and courteous co-worker wait staff attended to all our needs; we never felt rushed, and the meal was superb. Absolutely one of our all time favorite Palm Springs restaurants- it's an institution! We split the escargot, carpaccio & veal piccatina - each item more delicious than the last. We had a reservation for Saturday at 6pm. There is plenty of parking if you're ok with walking plus there's valet. The restaurant is nice and small and comfortable. It's not super fancy and there's no awesome view... but It's clean and friendly... except for my waitress. Laura had a pleasant face with an unpleasant approach. She had this eye kind of roll inquiry or our needs... like an adolescent given direction for chores. The exact kind of attitude I want to escape to enjoy my dinner especially if you're paying a lot of money.. anyhoo... the food is very good. The light sauce was super creamy. They're friendly and knowledgeable. Even if you've never eaten here, when you come you will be made to feel like a regular. It's genuine and it makes a difference. The food is really special. It's not over the top. It's not crazy. It's better than good and you can count on it being that way every time you come. It's delicious, fresh and serviced the way you ordered it. The menu has lots of options. First timers should make sure to get the pork chops. These are legit and delicious. I think the spinach salad pairs nicely. Any pasta dish is a winner and the garlic bread is perfect. Just enough but will not full you up. That's the level of attention and detail that make look easy. Castelli's is about as "Old World" as an Italian Ristorante can get! On entering, you are often greeted by Michael Castelli whose family has owned this place for decades. (Side bar--any place where the owner is actually working and paying attention will be WAY better than any chain--or it won't be around long). The atmosphere is so genuine, I always expect to see Luka Brasi at a table with a big napkin tucked into his collar! The waiters are in white shirt and tie and they are "old pros", no need to ask for another drink, more water or removal of an empty plate. They know how to manage the flow of a good meal! The food? Fettuccine Alfredo is a specialty and does not disappoint. Get one order for the table, at least! Veal dishes are excellent as are steak and fish, served Italian style. This place is usually packed so get a reservation. Valet parking is available. My favorite spot always delivers food, Service and "real" ambience. read more

Although we've lived here for 8 years, this was our first visit to Castelli's for our 50th anniversary....What we've been missing !! We were totally impressed with their incredible service and delicious dishes. My wife had Linguine Bolognese and I had the Seafood Linguine.. Absolutely incredible and delicious. Among the best ever that we have had. My only regret is that we haven't visited this restaurant earlier. We'll become regulars ! Came here for dinner a few nights back and left disappointed. First, the valet was very nice and kept close track of the customers - he actually had our car waiting for us when we left the restaurant because he saw us paying for our meals and knew we would be done soon! So that was pretty cool. The ambiance inside the restaurant was quite nice as well - there was a piano (well, keyboard, technically) player singing some romantic songs, and the wait staff were all well dressed and did a good job of refilling our waters, checking in on us pretty regularly, etc. So why the low rating? Well, the food was basically not very good. My wife and I shared the escargot as an appetizer and the garlic in the dish was practically raw. Now, I don't eat escargot very frequently, but I'm pretty sure your breath is not supposed to smell like garlic for 24 hours after you eat it. We both felt like the dish was pretty gross (and my wife LOVES garlic, so that's saying something). For our entrees, I got the seafood pasta while my wife got the linguine with clams. In both cases, the pasta didn't have a lot of flavor and was just a little bit lackluster. Our disappointment was amplified by the fact that the food was pretty darn expensive, too - something like $30 for my pasta dish. Overall, would not recommend this place to others. read more

We had an 8:00 pm reservation and arrived a bit early. An hour early to be exact. We were staying in downtown Palm Springs for the Tour de Palm Springs, so we weren't too familiar with driving times. We are familiar with being treated well, and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left your staff made us feel welcomed. They were all so nice and accommodating. They treated us like family! My wife is Italian, and I am Hispanic, so we KNOW "famiglia." Your hostesses, super nice, and accommodating. Your servers: top notch. Gabriel was our head server and he and his team were exceptional.
