We waited over an hour for our food. My meal was slightly above room temperature so it had clearly been sitting for quite some time. The waitress was kind, but seemed to be super stressed out and in a rush. She was evidently annoyed when we asked questions regarding the menu. We had a lovely server. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The oven roasted clams were delicious and plentiful. I ordered the shrimp and scallops over linguini in a white wine butter sauce. It was recommended by our server and it was delicious. My husband had the fried cod with fries. He also enjoyed his meal. To say the least I was blown away. Everyone at my table got their food and it was looking great. My wife's food looked amazing then my Burger came... right away I noticed the onions and tomato that I requested not be on it was there. When I went to eat my fry's they were cold and soggy. I was thinking its ok she will be back to bring my pickle and coleslaw, but nope that never came either. As I'm eating my cheese burger I then had hair in the cheese. We went on a Thursday which is wine specials night, but they have other deals on other days. It's not a big place but almost every table is water view. Probably avoid a table right by the bathroom. I think I had one of the best dinners of my life here last night. Started off with a Pilsner Urquell beer which is outstanding. I had the steamed muscles which were out of the world. The white sauce it came with was so tasty I ate it like a soup. It had bacon, garlic, and either leeks or onions. Next I had the gumbo which was on a bed of grits with scallops, shrimp, and fried oysters. Out of this world. I don't even really like fried oysters but these were very little and fried to perfection. I couldn't have asked for a better meal. Their scallops although pricey are prepared perfectly. Fish and chips are not over battered and well cooked - great cod! Filet is really a great cut of meat and delicious. My wife and I eat fairly regularly at Sodel restaurants, especially Bluecoast and Matt's. We live off Rt. 54 fairly close to Catch but always seem to avoid it because of parking. Thursday evening on our way to Matt's we decided to give Catch a quick drive by and were able to get a decent parking spot. We popped in the bar and we're promptly seated. My wife and I ordered cocktails which were very good (pet peeve of mine are in season weak, expensive drinks). My wife ordered happy hour deviled eggs and hamburger and I ordered the soft crab special. The burger and eggs were delicious and my soft crabs were big and plump, the best I've had in years. Our server Joe was a pleasure to hang with and his soft crab endorsement was dead on. Forgot how much I miss this attractive place and will be back sooner than later. read more

My wife and I love to go to Ocean City, MD with our family in the month of May for Cruise Week. Today, it was Catch 54 in Fenwick Island, DE. I really don't have anything ill to say, as my rating would suggest. The hostess was very inviting. Our server, Ashley, was very friendly, very helpful, very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us explore the menu options and she was also very knowledgeable about the company she works for, which I thought was impressive. The food? Oh my!! Nothing came out that we didn't enjoy and it came out in a timely fashion. The house chowder (house made), The Parmesan truffle tater tots, The beer cheese dip and soft pretzel bites (beer cheese dip made with Thompson Island IPA beer, which, thanks to Ashley, we know that Thompson Island is another company under the SODEL umbrella along with Catch 54), The seafood gumbo and the southern fried chicken were ALL delicious! I did try the chicken, I enjoyed it very much. The seafood gumbo was amazing!! The fried oysters, seared scallops And shrimp were all cooked perfectly, the grits were creamy and the sauce brought it all together beautifully. They also make their own bread in house. Yes, that was delicious, too! And after reading all of that, you probably know what I'm gonna say next... The desserts were perfect and house made, too (SODEL Lime Pie (key lime pie, really & peanut butter pie)!! Like I said, 'nothing ill to say' and only praises to be sung. Oh and the view was awesome from our table, too & so much natural light in the restaurant made it bright and warm! Our experience was top-notch. Five stars. Totally recommend! Thank you, Catch 54! The setting of this restaurant is beautiful - right near the docks on the bay side of the Fenwick Island area of Delaware. I went there while on vacation with my young son, and the staff from the front of house, the bar, and the restaurant itself were so kind to us. The atmosphere when I went (around 6:30 pm on a weekday) was a great balance between sophisticated and relaxed/kid-friendly. The kids menu is great (the portion sizes were surprisingly large), the drinks are awesome (I had a pineapple martini), and the cakes on the dessert menu were so delicious (and also quite large). Their take on shrimp and grits is interesting, however, so if you are expecting something more like soul food, I would reconsider. Their version was delicious though (and not too heavy)! I wish I could transplant this place to near my house, because I would probably go there for brunch or fresh oysters every weekend and bring all my friends. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the North Ocean City or Delaware Beach area. read more

Our evening didn't start so well; we arrived a little late for our reservation. Due to being unfamiliar with the area, having to park in a distant lot due to no parking, and then waiting on a brief line to check in with the hostess, we were about 13, maybe 14 minutes past our reserved time. Anyway, the hostess goes inside and pops back out, saying our table was given away. My wife was furious, but I convinced her to wait. We stood outside like jerks but got called back in after about 20 minutes. Arriving at the table, my bench was pretty dirty but luckily the hostess noticed me staring before sitting and cleaned it off. Our actual waitress was very nice and so was the inside decor. I do wish she wouldve acknowledged that we barely touched the steamed clams which were just swimming in sand and black grit. Gross. But oysters Rockefeller were spot on. Entrees were really good, wife had nice seared scallops and I really liked my crab cakes. Nice wine amd craft beer selection too. Overall, I just expect better service at this price point.
