P.F. Chang's at Planet Hollywood was my first experience with the restaurant. We had just arrived at our hotel in Las Vegas after being on an airplane for about five hours and needed food ASAP! The restaurant was surprisingly pretty empty, but they appeared to be short-staffed, so it took us a while to get seated. I decided to sit outside because after being on a cold airplane, I was ready to enjoy some heat! They were still serving brunch when we arrived, but I opted for a salmon dish with white rice and a lemon drop. The drink was good, but unfortunately, the salmon was a little bland and definitely needed more seasoning. Overall, the experience was just okay. I personally probably wouldn't go back, mainly because the food didn't really impress me. However, I do want to give credit to our server, who was great and did a wonderful job despite the limited staff. It is acceptable to try a P.F. Chang's away from home. It's 109 degrees in Las Vegas, so try to add some more spice while you check the strip on the b-l-v-d. This one is smaller than what I'm used to, however friends, it is bustling!! I did get another favorite, chicken with broccoli, proceeded by an egg drop soup. It is on the house special. Not a bad idea for trying to save on the travel expenses. House staff are still friendly. There is a welcoming vibe here. Well decorated as usual. A Tuesday evening at approximately 5:30 PM we were probably seated and greeted by our server Nell. The restaurant was not too crowded and as usual, it was nice and clean and in order. We came back even though we had a bad experience last time. This time we were with friends and ate inside. Our server quickly arrived and took our drink order. I started out with the wonton soup, which I like here as they add a bit of shrimp. I wasn't disappointed. My husband and I shared the sesame chicken with lo mein. Came here with our group (we knew we would want to eat here and there is the ease of being to reserve a table online, which is super convenient for a restaurant on the strip). Overall it was fine. We were definitely pleased with the food as far as portion size and taste, but disappointed a bit with service at first. We were promptly seated upstairs but it took probably nearly 10 minutes for our server to appear (we had to ask someone to get him). He did a good job of being attentive for the rest of the meal service, but one thing that did surprise us was no offer of dessert. Located in Planethollywood it was easy to find. I was seated immediately and given a menu. Wine glasses were removed since I indicated I did not want wine service. They do offer outside seating when weather is nice. They also offer bar seating where you can watch your favorite game. My server Dennis was very polite and attentive. Food was a huge disappointment. Nothing fancy about this place, just somewhere to go if you want fast, reasonable (for Vegas) and available. I was by myself for dinner and sat at the bar, which had plenty of seats (as did the rest of the restaurant). Service was fast and friendly. I ordered an individual portion of hot and sour soup to start and beef with broccoli and brown rice for main. From their website I thought there was a special dinner menu for single diners but that was not available here. The soup was just okay, the chicken was a little tough. With the beef with broccoli main, the beef was on the dry and chewy side and the brown rice was crumbly. I've had this better at other PF Chang's locations. I've been to a few different PF Changes over the years and this is probably my favorite one. Went here twice and both times the staff were friendly, food and drinks were great and the managers were walking around to check on people to make sure they were having a good experience. I really love the mural on the wall and there's an upstairs and outdoor section so plenty of seating on a busy night. Nice mood lighting and the chairs are comfy. Our group wanted the lettuce wraps so we decided on dinner at PF Changs. The lettuce wraps were small and barely enough for 3 people to share. I ordered the Edamame which arrived overcooked and under salted. We shared the Singapore Street noodles thinking it would be sufficient to share- it was not and while the description indicated there was chicken we only saw about 4 very small pieces. Our waiter was pleasant and friendly. We were seated in a booth that was comfortable and in a good location to see the restaurant but away from the casino noise. There are some really mixed reviews of this location, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my experience and meal! As a Strip location, sometimes you think it's not going to have the same level of service or that the quality could be subpar and it would still continue to get business. I hadn't been to a PF Changs in a very very long time. The menu has a lot of combination meals which is nice - apps and entree mix and matches. It makes it nice to construct a meal with variety for two people. We decided upon the "starting at $23.99 per person" deal. It starts at this price because you can choose upgraded items along the way. First - you can choose soup or salad per person (included). The Egg Drop Soup came out hot and was very good! The salad is basically just lettuce and purple cabbage but the dressing was really good so I forgave the fact that other veggies aren't in it. We upgraded to Pork Dumplings as our appetizer. It was really good - nice big size and the sauce was delicious. We rolled every potsticker around in it. The entrees came out and the Mongolian Beef had a nice sauce. The green onion was sauteed nicely. The Spicy Chicken was a surprise hit. It had a nice crisp coating on it and the sauce had a nice kick to it. Each entree comes with rice and we upgraded one to Fried Rice. For dessert, it's an extra $6 and we had the Key Lime Pie. Wow - I thought this was delicious! It's one of the best I've had in a long while. The texture is smooth, the tartness just right. I loved it. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly. I ordered online, which is best for pick up and went inside to have a drink at the bar. It was very busy, so maybe that's what happened. I picked up my order and went straight up to my hotel room to eat my dinner. There was only a very few pieces of orange chicken and the lo mein was there as well. We also ordered the Chang's spicy chicken and it was so little amount and the pieces were hard to eat as well. I googled the co-founders and one of them is Asian American was born in Shanghai, China but the dishes is too Americanized. A real Asian food restaurant doesn't serve sushi, New York cheesecake. I can understand how folks get a bit critical of their style, that it's not real Chinese food. Well, it's not meant to be that. It's been years since I'd been to one and the Lettuce Chicken Wrap was as good as I remember and it's no surprise it's their best seller. The pork ribs taste ok if it weren't for it being cold, even after returning and getting another replacement. The rice was undercooked, we found plastic in our noodles. The California roll was unexpectedly a bit spicy. Not soy sauce with the roll, but eel sauce! Weird. If you want real Asian food, this is NOT the place. This location is always very busy. My guess is that might have something to do with the lack of attentive servers or bartenders. The bar was full and there was only 1 bartender so we sat and sat before we could even get some drinks ordered. Ordered apps and mains but everything came out at the exact same time. We would have ordered more drinks but didn't see our poor bartender again until we had to ask for the bill several times so we skipped. Please hire more staff. The food is ok but we did request our apps and mains without rice puffs but each was brought to us with them. Didn't bother saying anything because we would have waited even longer. Before I moved here, this restaurant was always on my list..because I loved it so much. It appears that they have ruined it for me now. Wanted to check out the new happy hour with 10 bites and 5 dollar drinks. Arrived at the hostess stand, she blurts out "Happy hour?" I said yes, and she just dismisses us to the bar with no menu or smile..ok.... Bartender approached with menus and we order..I want the signature beer, but they are out..so I get a Pink cosmo. Hub gets a Diet Coke. We order the chicken lettuce wraps for 10 dollars..these were really big and good..and they now have a peanut sauce to go with. We also ordered a Changs spicy chicken and asked for them to come out together.... Lettuce wraps come out..no spicy chicken. Bartender notices and apologizes..gives me a free pink cosmo to make up for it... classy. So we finish the wraps and still no chicken..after 15 minutes Bartender says..still no chicken? He goes to the kitchen and hunts it down..meanwhile another 10 minutes go by..finished with drinks, we were about to ask for the bill and the chicken arrives. Changs spicy chicken is a signature item of theirs we have been getting for decades...this was just plain bad.. tasted like sour chicken..no spice..and they gave us the wrong rice..we could not finish it..just wanted out of there.... If they have changed this recipe, I will be gone for good...how could this be an improvement?? So so SO disappointed...probably will not be back to this location ever.
