A nice new edition to the Kingstowne area. It's basically kind of like a chipotle but Mediterranean style food. You pick your grains or salad then a protein and then your toppings. They also give you puts breads and dips and spreads if you would like. I wasn't a fan of the hummus. But everything else I tried was pretty good. Everything was flavorful and fresh. They are super polite, fast, and accurate with orders always. This was my first time at a Cava and I was wowed! Great healthy food and very filling. I had the greens and lentil grains bowl. Tons of great toppings. It's very much like Chipotle where they build it as you walk down the line. Service was friendly and very quick. We beat the rush at 1130. I will definitely be back!!! read more

Our family enjoys eating the rice and lentil bowls with grilled chicken. I've also tried the lamb meatballs and they were flavorful and delicious. We come here at least once a week, and now completely skip chipotle for warm pita chips and hummus. I love the cucumber drink, it's super addictive! read more

Ok, so we all know the food speaks for itself. This review is for the amazing service I recieved from Gerardo. I came in right when they opened and the staff was great. I love the pitas chips and they weren't ready. I admit I was a little annoyed but I brushed it off. I decided to wait anyway because Gerardo was so welcoming. I was so in a rush to get back to work that I forgot the hummus dip. He ran it out to me. Gerardo literally went above and beyond in regards to customer service. read more

Delicious food, and a really good value. I usually get 2 meals out of the greens and grains bowl. Lots of different options and sauces that are packed with flavor. We met a friend for dinner last night; it was her first time at CAVA. I was dismayed that this was her introduction. Never have I seen a CAVA location in such a disarray: Tables were dirty, utensil bins were empty with packages of new utensils sitting on the counter, and staff were not engaged. In addition, this visit was the first time when staff were politely asked to change gloves for a gluten allergy the staff did not take the ordered item from start to finish-- instead two more staff were asked to change their gloves as well. Food was okay; not as great as normal. After last night's experience, I will not be returning to this location. read more

It was decent. The layout of the order starion is backwards...which was wierd. My wife got the pita and i got the bowl. I was barely given any rice but they loaded up the lettuce (as a filler). I got teo meats (meatballs and braised lamb) and the meat was skimpy to say the least, and it was pretty flavorless. The only flavors i could taste was from the sauce. My wife said the same thing about her pita. For two of us to eat and drink mediocre juices it was almost 30$, i would have much rather went to Baytna or Schwarma Guys up the street. Fantastic experience! Yesterday was my first visit to this location and I was very impressed. Everything was clean and well stocked, the seating area looked comfortable and cozy. Most importantly, I was extremely impressed by how friendly the staff was, especially the manager, Milton. I live 1 minute from the Foxchase location, but haven't been returning because the staff seems to blow hot and cold. Happy to make the drive to the kingstowne location for good service! read more

This place has won me over from Chipotle!!! They are similarly designed but the difference is healthy food!! They even have spicey lamb. One you try it you will be hooked. I just came out of the outlet and was extremely disappointed with the amount of toppings which were added to my meal. The young man who was serving seemed extremely reluctant to add even a whole tablespoon of feta! I mentioned it in passing to the girl at the checkout but she didn't even acknowledge what I said. Well I tried cava for my first time and what I can say is that it was one of the best places I've been in the area of Alexandria. Let me tell you why! From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave that place you feel so welcome! I walked in and I was received with a great smile and greet by an employee she greet me with "welcome to cava"'it felt so warming. And good to feel noticed and welcomed. the place was not too busy but it just felt right, the place looked clean everything was just amazing! I got to the line and the person that was gonna take my order greet me with a great smile, I said it was my first time she offered to walk me through the menu everything made so much since, she was so awesome! Told me what things were made of and gave me some good recommendations. She was patient and greet everyone around her, even let the person behind me know that she was going to be helping them after. I loved it! she walked through all the line with me, I was very surprised how she was in the line and doing cashier. She made sure everything was right and I asked her for her name and she nicely said her name (I don't know how to write it but it was something like "zendaya") I'm sure gonna be coming often and I hope she's there! She makes everything so easy! Her professionalism was very impressive, it was just great customer service. I'm sorry friends I know most of it it's about my customer service experience, but also the food it's great!! Everything is fresh and hot! I was excited to see CAVA so close to home as a huge fan of the Clarendon restaurant. I was disappointed to learn it's not a full menu but rather a "build it yourself" establishment. Nevertheless, gave it a try. On the plus side, you can get many fresh and interesting options. That said, I'm not convinced this is a good idea- so many options have competing and not necessarily complimentary flavors (and I kept it to a minimum). Personally not a fan of hummus mixed in with rice. The meats (lamb meatballs and chicken) were both cold (as was the dried out rice) and lacking flavor. The mini pita was undercooked to the point of doughiness. The Harissa was flavor packed and had a kick but immediately overwhelmed everything else in the bowl. I was most excited for the interesting drink selection and did find the watermelon mint conviction refreshing and not too sweet. I don't mind the price point but sadly don't see myself returning for the food options- threw half away. read more
