Great lunch spot, counter service, long lines so a good sign that it is worth the wait. Limited seating in the main section but some downstairs. Menu can be a bit overwhelming and they don't want you hanging about deciding. Look at menu before you go, is posted online. Start with a base, a few choices, salad, greens and grains, grain bowl, pita. Add dips, protein, veggies and finally dressing. Very flavorful and good value for money. read more

i could talk about how much i love cava for hours! it's basically like the mediterranean version of chipotle (but better, in my opinion). -you can order for pickup through their website or app. you can also just come in person to order, which is what i did. i came only a couple of minutes after they opened, so there wasn't a line. -the service at this particular location was okay. the worker didn't necessarily give off the most welcoming vibe but it's fine. she had trouble hearing me, which led her to add some stuff into my bowl that i didn't ask for. the portions were decent and filling, but not as big as some of the other locations i've been to. -both cash and card payments are accepted. -there are a few tables set up outside on the sidewalk, but there are also some inside too. 12/4/21 -greens + grains bowl: my go to order has a base of half supergreens and half brown rice, grilled chicken, persian cucumber, tomatoes, pickled onions, corn, lettuce, tzatziki, red pepper hummus, and tahini caesar dressing. i'll never get tired of it! the ingredients seemed to be pretty fresh and i loved the chicken! it was cooked just the right amount and tasted great. i could've gotten a side pita for free, but i skipped out on it this time. i couldn't really find any significant differences taste-wise between this cava location and the ones i've been to in nyc, so i really don't have any dislikes. for $11.42, you can really get a filling meal. after all, you can customize it the way you want, without having to pay extra for most of the options. (5/5) overall, i'll seriously never get tired of cava. i wanted to round down to 4/5 stars, because of the service, but i really couldn't complain about the food. i might come back to this location in the future or try a different one, but who knows. i'd highly recommend that you come here to try building your own bowl. it'll definitely be a satisfying meal! read more

My first time at Cava and I thought it was great the staff at the back bay location were friendly with smile, and patient like I said it was my first time ordering and I can be indecisive when excited and hungry at the same time. I ordered the half super grain and saffron rice with lamb meatballs and falafel. One thing I didn't like about the falafel were the whole chickpeas otherwise seasonings were right on. I added the different veggies and I think lime sauce all together very good. Sat outside at the tables with umbrellas and enjoyed a beautiful spring day people with my bowl people watching. The service again was exceptional, with a lunch rush making the line out the door go fast and smooth. You can also order ahead if preferred. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Today was my first time at Cava. I've always heard great things and have been meaning to go for a while now. As it turns out, it lives up to the hype. My server was friendly and patient in explaining how it works: you pick a base (grain or green), three dips/spreads, a protein, veggies (as many as you want), and finally a sauce. For my base, I got half brown basmati rice, half black lentils, for my dips I got hummus, crazy feta, and eggplant red pepper dip, for my protein I got half chicken, half falafel, and for my veggies I basically got them ALL, and then for my sauce I got lemon herb tahini. The meal came out to around $11. I would describe my meal as an explosion of flavors. For some, it might actually be a little bit too much, because there are so many different sauces and dips and textures you can add free of charge. The falafel was a bit sweeter and softer than I expected (but still good) and the banana peppers had a spicy kick. I will definitely be back, as I think the portion and the variety justify the price tag. read more

So I needed lunch somewhere near South Station and Cava was right there. I wasn't sure what to expect but I'm glad I stopped. It's a fast-casual restaurant but with some really rocking ingredients. I got a bowl of soup and a mini pita and man, the mini pita was awesome. I just expected a side of pita. Instead I got an absolute flavor burst - falafel with sauces and toppings and who knows what else. It was absolutely delicious and I think I spent less than $9. I think if I had one local it would be my go to lunch spot. read more

Overall a delicious clean healthy make your bowl senario. It had more Mediterranean Indian flare to it. I had chicken and lamb meatballs with vegetables and brown rice and arugula and cucumbers. Then a yogurt sriracha sauce which was pretty good but I wish I had it on the side. New Mediterranean spot on Boylston! If you walk in looking confused and feeling overwhelmed by the options -- good, then you're getting the full experience. Pick up a menu at the front and start looking at what's good but don't be afraid to ask for recommendations at the front of the line, the staff is super friendly and helpful! For my first time I ordered the Greens + Grains with Red Pepper Hummus, Grilled Chicken, Onion & parsley quinoa and topped with lemon tahini!! There are a ton of salad and protein options though the braised and stewed lamb comes highly recommended. It's sitting in a hot tub of it's own meat juices and trust me when I say it's more appetizing than I just described it. :P There is nothing more appetizing than a bowl full of bright colors and refreshing flavors in the summertime. This spot also has abundant outdoor seating too. Giving this spot a solid 4/5 stars for a first impression! I will certainly be returning to try out other bowl combinations! read more

Our office just moved to Back Bay and CAVA was on our shortlist of healthy and hopefully delicious places to try for lunch. My colleague, Neil, and I went there today and were helped by Raykayla, who is, essentially, the bomb dot com. So much so, that I had to reach over and elbow-bump her for her excellent assistance (she was wearing food prep gloves, so we elbow-bumped in lieu of the more traditional fist-bump). I had the Greens+Grains (baby spinach and black lentils) bowl filled with all manner of flavorful goodness. I chose crazy feta (srsly), harissa, and tzatziki, with spicy lamb meatballs and falafel, a slew of toppings like kalamata olives (#duh), cabbage slaw, roasted tomatoes, white bean salad, and pickled onions. I also went with the green harissa dressing because it showed two spicy peppers next to it, and I wanted to embrace the spice. All in, it was a $10 heavy bowl of Greek & Mediterranean deliciousness, dished up by a delightful server who added insight and fun into our experience. So go already! read more

So. Good. - wish I worked closer so I could eat here more often. I pre-ordered a half salad half brown rice bowl with tzatziki, hummus, eggplant, chicken and a myriad of toppings and it was waiting to be picked up by the time I got there. Love the fact that Cava doesn't limit toppings or sauces and all the flavors mix very well together. My bowl was very filling and on the cheaper end for most lunch places in the area at $10.28. Minus one star because I ordered brown rice but got white and I almost chipped a tooth on an olive pit :( read more

I first heard about CAVA from a DC friend who is obsessed with this place, so when I saw that one opened up on Boylston, I knew I had to go! It's right next to a sweetgreen, but I'd say this is the better decision. Like the other reviews mention, this place is basically a Mediterranean Chipotle. I got the greens with grilled meatballs with all the sauces on the side. For $10+, I think it would be nice if it came with more than 4 meatballs, but overall, the portion of the meal was more than enough. Very flavorful without it getting to the point of too salty. They also have calories and nutrition posted on their website, which is a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it LOL. read more

It may just be the Cava at Derby Street Hingham, but I have yet to have a 100% satisfaction rating. The few times I ordered delivery, the free pita was never included and there was always some omission of ingredients. Yesterday I decided to order and pick up since I had accrued some points for a good discount. Well, surely the discount didn't get figured in on the online order. When I went in to pick up I had to wait a while for someone to acknowledge my presence despite the fact it was pretty empty in there. I guess they think if they ignore me long enough I'll go away? Finally some man (maybe a manager) addressed my question about applying the discount. He couldn't figure it out and advised I call customer service. . Then I pointed out that the pita wasn't included and he said, "well I can help you with that!" And proceeded to dig his dirty gloved hand into a metal heating apparatus and pull one out and wrap it in packaging. This is so unsanitary seeing as he was lugging around some bucket earlier. I'm not a complainer, but this is just a bad store in a very pretentious little strip mall. Another store I'm done supporting. This guy could have re ring the meal and applied the points, but clearly he couldn't be bothered. There's no above and beyond at Cava at derby shoppes! read more

My friends have been telling me about CAVA, and it did not disappoint as a fast but delicious and filling meal. This is a great spot for vegetarians, because there are so many things you can fill your bowl with that aren't meat, and it all tastes so good (definitely get a pita on the side too, because who doesn't love good pita bread?). The number of options can be a little overwhelming, but the people who work here were really nice and helped walk me through how to order. CAVA brings the fast-casual Chipotle style model to Mediterranean food... and the emphasis on 'fast' was very important to me since I was running between workshops at the Hynes Convention Center. I was able to get through the line in under 10 minutes during peak lunch so I was very happy on that front. Something I wish I did before coming there was to read the menu on the website, just to understand all that is available and how much of it I can have. For example, it was not immediately obvious to me that I could have up to three dips in the beginning and I didn't really notice how much toppings I could have actually picked, given how fast the line was moving. Looking at some of the Yelp reviews below also suggest that I'm not alone in this too -- so be sure to have an idea of what you want in your bowl before popping in. That said, CAVA makes it remarkably easy to get a healthy and delicious Mediterranean bowl on a reasonable budget, given the area of the city we're in.
