It's true, skip it. The customer service is just bad. Skimpy portions, odd staff with limited knowledge of the menu. I was met with either blank stairs or odd unfitting answers. This is not typical of these restaurants. Med to cold temp meat meatballs. Who doesn't love that. They were incredibly dry as well. Simply tasty. I ordered ahead online for a pickup time and was pleased to see how easy the website was to navigate. It was simple to edit my order which was helpful because I have only been to Cava a time or two and wasn't sure what I wanted or exactly sure what all they offered. The food was ready and easy to find when I went into the restaurant. They had ample parking as well. I was in and out with my food in less than a minute. The meal itself was fresh and flavorful. UPDATED REVIEW: like I said previously, we love Cava. Last night we went into the Chantilly location and it was busy with a substantial line. It was moving as a pretty good speed, no complaints. We got up to the counter and started going down the line - we got to the protein section and there was no more mixed vegetables left. They said it would be 10 minutes, so we said we would wait. After about 5 minutes the cashier was very apologetic about the situation. Eventually leading to some free drinks. Side note: the season Apple, cinnamon & vanilla tea/cider is delicious. We ended up waiting around 30 minutes before the vegetables were done. It would have been terrible but the employees were very apologetic and we appreciated that. Luckily we were not starving. We have a place similar to this in CaLifornia. Everything is so fresh and served hot (meats that it's). Even the pita is also served warm. MY first time here was just ok. I ordered a salad with falafel and chicken. My food looked delicious but half way through, I found a piece of plastic in my salad. Who knows if there was more. Finding anything in your food is justnot gross. My falafel, chicken and pita were all cold. Also the falafel was very bland and dry. Oh well. Not sure if I'll go back. Oh yum!! Plenty of healthy options including vegan ones! Didn't experience any of the issues I saw mentioned in other reviews. Portions were very generous. On line order/pay meant no wait time at all. Order was ready and waiting right on time. Made as ordered, no mistakes. Included the bag & pita. Pita was soft, not stale. And nothing lacked for flavor. I'm hooked to Cava!!! I was introduced by a friend to get lunch here. Now I'm in love with their food. You may get overwhelmed with all the options they have but it's not hard to get a hold of it. I usually get the greens (splendidgreens) and grains (brown rice) bowl. I tried all the meats but I prefer the braised beef and chicken. My favorite dips/ spreads are roasted red hummus, eggplants & red pepper, and harissa (spicy alert). There are many toppings to choose from. Pickled onions and tomato & cucumber are always in my bowl. For the last step (choosing dressings), I love the spicy lime tahini. You can get a free pita but you gotta ask for it. Overall, I enjoy the food every time I visit. It's prefect for hot summer days as the food is not heavy. P/s: download their app so you can earn points and get rewarded. I got a chicken and rice with baby spinach bowl. Mixed in a few spices and other flavors to make this a delicious bowl hard to forget. What was impossible to forget was my wife's trip to the bathroom.... Note there is only one bathroom for both genders. So they must share. She went in and said there was pubes and urine all over the toilet rim and urine on the toilet seat and urine still in the toilet. I don't really get the hype. Everyone raves about the awesome food @ CAVA but the lines are always so long & I never have time to endure that to grab food. One sat night we decided to grab dinner in the area & I begged & pleaded to come here so my friend agreed. It's in the burbs by the new Wegmans on the border of Chantilly / Centerville so parking is good. Music is super loud & chairs are funky so therefore uncomfortable. It was hip though & had a steady stream of ppl even @ night here. Main gripe was portions - bowls were tiny & they used these baby scoops to basically give u a tablespoon of protein & like 4 of grain & a teaspoon of condiments. The flavors weren't fabulous. I thought everything was pretty bland - just salty - but lacking in the Mediterranean flavors. I don't think I'll be trying cava again read more

Cava has quickly become one of our favorite places to eat. It's basically a Mediterranean version of Chipotle, but the food is much better. Service is very good, and the take out shelf makes picking up an order very fast and easy. Great selection of options for protein, toppings, etc. The pickled onions are awesome on a salad, and the crazy feta has a nice, spicy kick. Cava also has a good selection of drinks - I'm a big fan of their watermelon mint drink. They also have an app for ordering which works very well. It's certainly not a five star restaurant, but is an excellent option for casual dining. I've eaten here several times, and am very impressed. Nice addition to the neighborhood! read more

As a frequenter of this location, this 5 start review is solely for when we encounter Ben. Ben is a perfect example of customer service. If he isn't in a managerial role, he needs to be promoted ASAP. Just by observation, he was clearly working harder than every worker around him. All this, while being the only employee working face to face with customers. When I visit this location, and Ben isn't working, the employees treat us like a bother to be waited on. I feel like they have no emphasis on customer service. I always get significantly less food in my bowl, and it's never the way I want it done. Everyone should take a page out of Ben's book. He should also in charge of helping train employees. A real focus needs to be made on the consistency of the customer service experience because it is very much lacking. read more

Everyone was so generous with portions, and was ready for me at the register. I recommend that you make it easier for people to order online for pickup. Don't make the customer have to download the Cava app as the only way to order because trying to remember another password is a pain in the ass. it's a shame, because I had an order all set to go for you and the password thing got all funky so I changed my mind. Forget that my preorder wasn't ready by the time that I got there (it's lunch rush so it's forgivable), lets overlook the fact that they always forget the free pita and bag (again forgivable because these are extras), but on top of all that they got my order wrong. I didn't ask for black lentils and they added it, luckily it didn't make the meal unappetizing to the point where I didn't want to eat it but if I'm going to pay $12.00 for a meal I'd like to have it the way I ordered it.
