Definitely recommend trying this restaurant, it's basically chipotle but for Mediterranean food. I came here for lunch in between work calls, and I was served super quickly. I went with a build your own, but there are preset meals that you can order. I started with half brown rice and half lentils. And then you can pick your protein and add a ton of vegetable toppings on top as well as a dressing. The staff we're really patient as I took my time to build my bowl. Cava is basically the Mediterranean version of chipotle. They have great salads, bowls and sandwiches. The best is the honey harissa chicken bowl. This particular location is lovely, staff is super friendly, the line typically does not get that long, even when it is it goes fairly fast. This location is in One Paseo shopping center with lovely outdoor seating, it's also located near some offices so it can get busy around lunch time. CAVA is very clean inside. Finally got to try out Cava!! My east coast friend has been raving about this place so I finally decided to give it a try! Came here for lunch today with my cousin and we both got the green and grains bowl with spinach and saffron basmati rice. For sauces I got tzatziki, hummus, and feta. For proteins I did half and half chicken and beef meatballs! I wish they gave a better portion of chicken because it was really yummy! For toppings I got feta and cucumbers and crunched up pita chips and dill sauce on the side. I was really impressed with how filling the meal was! I honestly wasn't sure if I was supposed to mix the entire bowl up or eat it in sections so I ended up mixing it together. It was really good except toward the end it got a little saucey. CAVA's a good Mediterranean food chain that I've seen on downtown streets in other cities and never got to try until I met up for dinner with Yelp friend Karen N. Good luck finding parking for this shopping center, especially around peak dinner time (looking for a spot in the garage is a time waster; I ended up parking in the mall across the street and crossing over). The place itself is easy to find and there's table and bench seating both inside and out on the patio. Even if there's a crowd, it goes relatively quickly since you verbally build your bowl/plate/wrap down the line until paying at the register. Karen & I got Greens & Grains bowls and my companion got a Falafel Pita. I chose Braised Lamb as my protein and enjoyed the choices of dips and dressings, as well as the flavored iced tea options. I had to try this place because I've been seeing so many TikToks that looked so dang good! It did not disappoint. I went to the mission valley one on a rainy day. It was packed! Probably a good sign so I waited hangrily (hungry + angry because I'm so hungry + verb) and it was so good. I got a grain bowl with Saffron Basmati Rice, Tzatziki, Harissa Honey Chicken, Shredded Romaine, Tomato + Onion, Pickled Onions, Fire-Roasted Corn, Persian Cucumber, Crumbled Feta, Kalamata Olives, and Garlic Dressing drizzled on top. It was amazing. I also got the pita chips and they were so good also! Inside the restaurant it was packed so I didn't sit down but it could have been a little cleaner. There was dust on the clear acrylic that divided the patrons with the yummy food. Also, for a few minutes while we were waiting in line it smelled like stale cigarettes but that could've been a maintenance person cleaning outside since the doors weren't shut because the line was out the door. Okay, I danced between 4 stars and 5 stars and ultimately settled on the 5 stars but there is room for some improvement. A new addition to One Paseo and without question... the BEST dining experience at One Paseo. A friend suggested the place, and like everyone else, called it a Mediterranean 'Chipotle' and they weren't wrong. Totally unfamiliar with what they serve here, we weren't quite sure what to get and we were hoping for someone who would guide us through some of the menu. We knew we were going to get a pita sandwich and a salad. The woman who helped us in the line was very nice and explained how it works. For the salad, we added "grains" to it with some white basmati rice and there are several choices for the greens and we picked romaine. For the protein, we added the chicken and for dips, we added Tzatziki sauce and hummus. For toppings, we added feta cheese, tomato onion salad and kalamata olives. For a choice of dressing, we really weren't sure about any but the guy at the counter recommended Spicy Lime Tahini and we got it on the side. The chicken was good; it wasn't anything spectacular, but still it was pretty good. But the combination of the romaine, rice, meat, cheese and sauces was an amazing dish! Add a piece of pita bread on the side and you can make your own little sandwich if you want. For the pita sandwich, we had the tzatziki sauce spread on the pita, added the braised lamb and topped it with feta cheese, kalamata olives and red peppers. The pita sandwich was amazing! I would probably do it differently next time and leave off the olives and probably put diced cucumbers. The lamb was delicious! The people who have called this the Chipotle of Mediterranean food are spot on! The food is very fresh and quite delicious... can't wait to go back and try other dishes and combinations. The restaurant itself is quite appealing and they have indoor dining as well as a nice outdoor patio area to enjoy the great SoCal sunshine. And they use nothing but 100% recyclable materials if you are taking the food to-go!!!! Gotta love that! We were there at lunch time and it was quite busy and unfortunately they only had one person working the line preparing orders. The line of people went all the way to the front door and it was noon. Right now One Paseo isn't fully opened so I hope they are planning on hiring more people. Once the office spaces open and people start occupying the residences, this place is going to get REAL busy and if they only have one person on the line, and people see a line out the door... people are going to go elsewhere. The iced tea (black tea) was fresh, but either too watered down or they need to change brands. It was too weak and not very flavorful. I also hope they will have some sort of delivery for Harland Brewery. Football season is starting and people at the brewery are going to want food while they watch their games. But you can't expect people to leave the brewery for the food; once you walk way, you lose your table. Other places like Urban Pizza and Shake Shack are going to deliver to the brewery and I hope CAVA will offer this as well. read more

GET THE PITA FOR YOUR BASE. I say that because I got a bowl and yeah the bowl was 5/5 and it came with pita bread but I still wish I got the pita base instead of the bowl. That bread was like a soft pillow from the Greek Gods. So soft and I was so sad when I finished mine. Hopefully I can save you from making the mistake I made. This place is like a Mediterranean chipotle which stands out from other Mediterranean restaurants. The staff is very informative and answered all my questions. Great selection. Plenty of seating.
